Taylor let her turn on what she liked on the radio. He really didn't mind. The drive wasn't all that long, though, so she wouldn't have too much time to play with the radio.
Sera eventually settled on a soft rock station for the rest of the trip.
"Ooo, nice," Sera said, looking at the aquarium looming in front of them. |
Taylor was able to find a good parking space out front when they got there.
"You're going to like it, I'm sure," he said as they got out of the car. |
"I bet." Sera grinned and internally debated if she'd be able to pay for her own ticket or if Taylor would beat her to it.
Taylor had already beaten her to it. Going up to the window, he bought the two tickets and handed her one.
"Where do you want to go first?" he asked. He was just fine with following her around. |
"Hmm. I dunno." Sera snagged a map and saw the words "sea otter". "That way." She started off towards the sea otters, grinning.
Taylor just followed her. He knew she liked cute furry things, and it didn't get much better than otters.
Sera went over and watched the otters playing around, chasing each other around their enclosure and diving under the water.
Taylor came up beside her as she watched the otters, and he wrapped an arm around her waist.
Sera smiled and leaned against his side, watching the sea otters. "I love watching sea otters. They're hilarious."
"Not to mention cute and fuzzy," Taylor replied, teasing her a little. He kissed her cheek.
Sera laughed quietly. "Well, that too," she admitted.
"Well, we can watch them for as long as you like," Taylor offered.
"For a little back longer. I still want to see the sharks, too." Sera grinned.
"Fine with me," Taylor replied, his arm still around her waist. He pulled her a little closer.
Sera couldn't help but smile and stayed there, resting against his side, quite content.
On a whim, Taylor pulled out his cell phone and sent a message to Damien as an experiment to see if he would actually get a reply.
'Let me know when it's safe to come back, alright?' |
Damien groaned when he heard his phone. He kissed Rose once and made sure she didn't move as he checked the message. He growled at the phone and dumped it off the side of the bed before going back to his previous activities.
Sera glanced up at him curiously before she started for the shark enclosure. |
Taylor snorted at the lack of response. He knew what that meant.
"We've still got plenty of time to kill," he said as he walked with Sera towards the shark tanks. |
Sera nodded and just watched the sharks for a while. She wouldn't go swimming with them, but she would watch them. She loved watching sharks, how slow and graceful they were.
Taylor looked up at the sharks in the tank. He liked watching them, too, but every so often he would look at Sera again. He liked watching her more.
Sera kept watching the sharks, just enjoying the peace there.
"It's nice in here," Taylor commented softly. "Quiet."
"Peaceful." Sera smiled. "That's why I like it. No one speaks very loudly, and it's always so calm."
"We should make it a point to come to the aquarium more often, then," Taylor said. He grinned, and added teasingly, "and it'll give Damien an excuse to lock himself in the bedroom with Rose more."
