"Thank you... and I have had a pretty good life... sometimes it's a bit boring but that's to be expected really... where do you live?" Destiny asked with a soft smile and seemed to be enjoying talking to Jace. She then glanced around and saw a spot under a tree that looked nice for sitting. "How 'bout we go sit over there? Then we don't have to stand anymore" she smiled easily and pointed over to the tree hoping that he would want to sit so they could continue to talk.

Jace sighed when he heard her and then nodded. "sure sitting sounds good." he said and started to lead the way to the tree. ONce ther ehe sat down and patted the spot next to him, "and I live anywhere. Since I dont really have a home I just kind of wonder around and live where i feel like and sleep where i feel like." he said as he looked at her and tol dher the truth.

Destiny sat next to him then listened to him some. "Ow... that's horrible... I mean if you like to move around allot then I guess it isn't but... you shouldn't have to go without a home." she said then thought some and smiled a bit. "I could ask Momma and Poppa if you could stay with us?! Then all you would have to worry about is some chores since everyone has something to do at least once a week." she smiled and hoped that he would like that and then she could ask if her parents were okay with him staying.

Jace was surprised that she would right away ask for him to stay with her and her family. It was as if she knew exactly what he was thinking but for once he found he was truely greatfull. He then smiled at her and nodded, "I would like that. I haven't had a home in a while so actually having a home would be nice." he said as he looked at her and smiled.

"Okay" Destiny smiled then stood and offered him her hand. "Come on! I want to ask while I can still remember to" she laughed some as she waited for him to take her hand. She didn't know, however, that this could prove faitle for her family if he stayed then decided that he wanted to take a chance and kill her parents.... that wouldn't be good at all... though she had no idea of the danger of this.

Jace found that he couldn't help but smiel when he looked at her and took her hand. He then stood up and nodded as he looked at her, "okay, that sounds good to me. You just have to lead the way since I have no idea where this cave is of yours." he said as he looked at her.

"Okay" Destiny smiled happily as she led him back through the forest and soon they were back close to the cave. "Wait here I need to ask Poppa first." she said as she let go of his hand and walked into the cave and looked for Dustan. "Hey Poppa I have a question" she said as she looked around some trying to figure out where her father was since she didn't see him right away.

Jace watched her go and knew that he could of just followed her but stayed. If he followed her that would only give them a reason to say no. dustan heard Destiny come in and wondered what was wrong. So he came out of the kitchen and looked at her, "is everything okay?" he asked as he looked at her. As he got closer he found that hse smelled differntly, she smelled of something he hadn't smelled for years.

"Yeah Poppa I'm just fine... I just wanted to know if my new friend Jace can stay for awhile... he said he doesn't have anywhere to live." Destiny said as she looked at her father and smiled some at him not seeming to find anything wrong herself though she didn't know how much trouble a dragon could and would be for them.

Dustan thought for a Monet and wasn't sure what to say for once. "how about if we talk with mom and see what she thinks." he said since he knew she would like a say in this. If this guy smelled of dragon ot wasn't a good thing and he wasn't sure what to do.

"Okay" Destiny said before walking into the kitchen where her mother was still. "Hi babydoll." she smiled some as she hugged Destiny then looked at Dustan and could just tell something was up. "What's wrong love?" she asked softly though didn't know anything about the scent of a dragon... She had still been human back then.

Dustan pulled Gesei close to him and whispered into her ear, "our daughter has the sent of a dragon on her, I think it is one of her friends." he said to her softly and then looked at her worried. "and she wants her friend to stay here with us. What do you think?" he asked.

Gesei was shocked at the words the whispered quietly to Dustan and prayed that their daughter wouldn't hear. "He doesn't have a human form does he? He's dead right?" she asked in a whisper her voice stuttering some as she spoke and kept her face clear though Dustan would probably be able to see the fear in her eyes from all those years ago all hitting her at once at the thought of the one that almost killed her still being alive after all this time.

Dustan saw the fear in her eyes and knew what she was thining. He then wrapped a arm around her and pulled her close to him. he whispered to her softly, "he is gone, it must be a different one. but dont worry, your going to be okay. No one is going to hurt you like that ever again." he said and kissed her forhead gently. He knew that she didn't want to go threw that pain again and didn't blame her.

Gesei nodded a bit and sighed shakily. She kissed him on the lips softly wanting to feel him there for her before she pulled away and looked at Destiny who was a bit confused though didn't say anything. "How about we meat your friend first? That seems best right?" she smiled some to her child and he voice didn't waver as she spoke to her daughter... she didn't want to worry or frighten her when there may not be anything to worry about.

Destiny nodded ecstatically and ran out of the cave to go and get Jace. "Jace! They wanna meat you and they said that you might be able to stay" she smiled happily as she looked around for her new friend whom she didn't know was probably the biggest mistake that had been made in a long time.

Jace smiled when he heard her call for him and came out from behind a tree. "okay, that sounds good." he said and then let her lead him. Once they got close enough he could see dustan and anger filled him. Before he could do anything he lunged at dustan and let part of him change. Distan was ready for it and he fought back right away, changing into his tiger form.

Destiny watched this in shock and horror and cried some as she ran into the cave and into her mothers opened arms. She burried her face in her mothers chest and cried some.

Gesei watched her husband and hoped that he would be okay. Seeing the male in a dragon like state brought back pain though she kept it hidden as she hugged her little girl. "It's not your fault... you didn't know... just be more careful with whom you talk to and make friends with" she said softly to Destiny and the girl nodded some as she slowly calmed down though refused to look and watch the fight.

After a little while dustan managed to pinn the dragon down after forcing Jace into his human form. He then glared at him, "why do this? Some dragons a nice." he growled but Jace just growled and tried to bite dustan. "it's your fault I am alone!!! You took away the only family I had left, I had to grow up by myself. So of corse I want to kill the man who killed my father. I have every right too!!" he growled at dustan.

Gesei listened to this and so did Destiny and they were both shocked. Destiny was shocked that the one that had hurt her mother was Dustan and Gesei was shocked that the dragon had a son... a half son though... how was that possible if the dragon didn't have a human form. "And your father tried to kill both of us twice... I think it was quite fair." Gesei said finally after getting over the shock and held her daughter close as she stared at the boy incredulously.

Jace glared at her as he turned his head, "do you think it is far when you let there son watch them die?" he growled as he looked at her. " yeah he managed to fly to me and I watched, watched as he died and left me nothing. Life isn't exactly easy for a dragon or a half dragon. We eat when we can and kill when we can. Hiding isn't easy for us and when humans find us they kill us or hurt us or torture us. So excuse us for not bein more civilized creatures and trying to kil humans for killing us." he growled at her. "you all have it so easy and you don't know anything!" he screamed at them.

"No we don't... Not fully. I was a sacrifice ten years... 11 years ago to Dustan... That was not easy, then a spider almost killed me, that was not easy, then your father came when I was outside and ate me, almost killing me, the village that I used to call home had me inches from death, your fathertried to kill us both again and put me in a coma, and then when I was finally better and had just gotten pregnant a man came and beat me almost killing Destiny before I even knew she was there... Yeah... You got it easy... I can feel some of your pain as well since my mother died 12 or 13 years ago and I had to watch her slowly and painfully die for three years though it would not make it right to kill someone else over it." Gesei explain in an almost cold voice trying to show the boy that he was lucky though also trying to explain why they killed his father.

Jace was shocked when he heard her but then glared, "Yeah but you may of had it tough but you always had someone to lean on. Someone who you could trust more then anyone else. I don't have that and never will. I am alone and it is all because of you two. You two killed the only person I cared about and you never thought of what may happen because of it. You are selfish people only thinkig of yourselves." he growled at them.

"No we think of allot of people though killing your father was out of self defense... maybe if you stop trying to hurt and kill us then we might let you stay here and then you won't be alone and you will have someone to love you and care about you. No it won't be the same as a fathers love though it would still be love non-the-less." Gesei said softly as she glanced at Dustan seeing what his thoughts were on this.

Jace was surprised by her words, no one wanted to care for a halfling. So why would she offer to let him stay even after he tried to kill them? He didn't get to answer his thought since dustan wathed him on the head to knock him out. He then stood up and picked up Jace with him. He then looked at gesei, "do you really want him here? He is the son of the man who nearly killed you and just tried to kill me. So do you really want him here?" he asked as he held up Jace. He was easier and less annoying knocked out.

Gesei sighed a bit and thought some as she looked at the boy. "Do you really want to kill him? Look at the boy, he can't be much older then Destiny. If we take him in then there's less chance he'll try to kill anyone since he will have someone there to take care of him. Until. He wakes up we could put him in one of the rooms that lock from the outside so we know he wontwake up and try anything." she said softly and Destiny moved a bit to look back at her father who was holding the boy she thought might actually be her friend.
