Seth relaxed there for a while, leaning his head back against the couch. Time to start thinking of plans...
Nika rolled her shoulder carefully before she nodded. "Yeah. That feels better. Thanks." She started relaxing carefully. |
"No problem," Jason replied. He set his weapons down next to Dawn's. Neither of them worried about getting them mixed up; they each knew their own weapons.
"Shower's open if anyone wants it first," Dawn said as she relaxed on the couch. Unconsciously, she moved a bit closer to Seth. "Nika, didn't you say you wanted to clean up?" |
"Yeah. I'll only be a few minutes." Nika trudged into the bathroom to go wash up and fish out a change of clothes from somewhere. Because monster blood just didn't go with her Metallica t-shirt.
Seth shifted a little to let her get more comfortable, perfectly content to just stay there for a while. |
Dawn curled up on the couch, leaning against Seth a bit. Jason glanced at the two and raised an eyebrow and then after a moment, looked away. For the moment, he wasn't going to say anything. The Hermes kid hadn't gotten out of line with Dawn so far, after all.
|
Seth draped an arm across her shoulders, careful to keep it just on her shoulders since Jason was there, and relaxed. Man, he could almost take a nap.
Except for the protective younger brother. But almost. |
Jason kept an eye on them, but nothing more than that. Dawn gave him a bit of a Look either way, reminding him exactly who the older sibling really was. Jason snorted softly and rolled his eyes, and Dawn settled in against Seth, humming faintly. She didn't notice she was humming a popular love song.
|
Seth did and just smiled, not saying anything to her. Hey, why ruin it? He just relaxed, closing his eyes. He deserved some time off now.
Nika came back downstairs a little bit later, her hair still wet, dressed in a set of spare clothes she kept at Dawn's place. She was even still barefoot. |
When Nika came back, Jason got up. Time for him to shower. And if he wanted to get away from his lovesick sister, well, that was just a bonus at the moment.
|
Nika plopped herself in the chair that Jason had just vacated, stretching out and curling her toes before relaxing into a boneless slouch again. "Am I allowed to go raid the fridge?" she asked, looking at Dawn. Because she was perfectly capable of getting herself a drink.
|
"You can," Dawn replied, "but you won't find anything in it. I clean it out and turn it off for the summer, since I'm usually not here from June to September. You can try the pantry, if you like, though. Or there's a vending machine down the hall." She'd stopped humming to speak, but her fingers kept tapping on the edge of the couch.
|
Nika shrugged and headed for the pantry, managing to find a soda and promising herself that once she got back to a really safe place later on she'd get herself totally smashed. Possibly with Eros, because he was a good drinking buddy.
But for the moment she contented herself with the soda she'd found and settled down on the chair again, sipping it quietly as she rested. |
Jason came out of the bathroom a few minutes later, still towelling his hair but dressed in clean clothes. He boldly ignored the fact that he'd been humming in the shower. He didn't outright belt showtunes or anything (one of the twins did that, he wasn't sure if it was Ben or Steve), but he couldn't help himself when it came to just humming.
When he came out, Dawn nudged Seth. "Your turn," she said softly. |
Seth nodded after a moment and got up after giving her one last little squeeze, passing Jason and heading to the bathroom to take his own shower.
Nika opened one eye to look at Jason as he passed but she didn't get up. He could find another chair; this one had been claimed as Nika-land. |
Dawn blushed slightly at the gesture, but didn't comment on it. Instead, she moved just enough so Seth could get up, and then took his spot when he was gone.
Jason didn't care the chair was taken; he sat down on the edge of the coffee table instead. He doubted his sister would let him take part of the couch, after all, and the apartment hadn't been furnished with more than two people in mind. "So now what?" he asked. |
"Recover, and then get someone's attention so they know there's a problem and they need to fix it." Nika didn't even open her eyes again as she spoke. "Shouldn't be too hard. They don't really want monsters running around any more than we do, after all. Not around humans."
|
"You would think they would have noticed and done something by now, though," Jason pointed out. "It's not exactly subtle or anything."
"And apparently it's been happening for days," Dawn added. "That makes me think that maybe they can't take care of it by themselves. Maybe it's like with the Titans; only a god and a demigod working together can take down a Titan." |
Nika groaned at that thought. "Oh this is not going to end well if we have to work with them. They barely get along with each other, and that's without throwing us halfies in the mix."
|
"It would be a disaster," Jason agreed. Dawn nodded.
"It's just going to be a mess," she said. |
Nika sighed heavily and slumped even further in her chair. "Oh gods..." She closed her eyes again. She did not want to deal with this.
|
Jason glanced at his sister, but Dawn shook her head. She hadn't had an visions of such a thing, yet. But she would let them all know if she did. It was something that they would all need to be prepared for.
|
Seth came out, his hair mostly dry and sticking up in all directions as he moved over to sit next to Dawn again. "So, any ideas where to start?"
"Yeah. Getting hammered." |
When Seth came back out, Dawn squeezed his hand a bit before going to shower herself. She desperately wanted to be clean and change her clothes, and she had more to choose from than the others did. It was her apartment, after all.
"We figure this might be messier than we'd really like," Jason commented. He recapped the last five minutes or so of conversation for Seth. |
"Oh lovely." Seth heaved a sigh. "So, someone going to call up a father first or shall I go see if I can get mine on hailing frequencies?"
Nika snorted. "I can get my old man's attention if I have to. Might be easier to ask Calix or Eros though." |
"It's not hard to contact our father if we need to," Jason added. He made a bit of a face. "Asclepius and Aristeus probably won't be much help, though." One being a beekeeper and the other being a healer, neither were helpful in the midst of a fight. After, maybe, but not when help was actually needed.
|
Nika shrugged. "If it's help during a fight we need, I've got us covered. I'm on good terms with Deimos and Phobos, I've got a cousin somewhere named Julian who was around just after Alexander died and was a general, Calix is one of Ares's generals... Need I go on?"
"And Eros is useless in a fight." Seth grinned. "Unless you throw him at the enemy as a distraction or a roadblock, yeah." |
