"Damn straight we've earned it," Nika grumbled. "Where would you want to go, though? You've done just as much work as I have."
"Don't care, really," Jason replied. "Out of here would be nice. South, maybe."
"Not Florida," Nika said immediately. "I'll go anywhere but Florida. Mosquitos there are huge. And apparently they think I'm tasty. Freaking bugs."
"Then what about leaving the continental states entirely?" Jason asked. "Hawaii or the Bahamas?"
"Oh that sounds wondeful. I hear Hawaii's great this time of year." Nika grinned. "You sure you want to, though? You know if you do this Ares is never going to forgive you. Or like you."
"I thought he didn't like anyone," Jason pointed out, grinning. "Besides..." He kissed her again. "You're worth the risk."
Nika grinned and kissed him again. "So when do we want to leave?" Because now that the idea had been planted in her brain, she was excited to go. She'd never really taken a vacation before, not like this, and certainly not with anyone who meant anything to her.
"As soon as we can get plane tickets," Jason replied, kissing her back. Everything else could be arranged when they got there, he figured.
Nika grinned, quite liking the sound of that, and went back to kissing him enthusiastically. This she could most definitely get used to.
Jason was more than happy to keep kissing her. This was something he could get used to, indeed.
Nika finally pulled back again when she had to breathe, panting quietly. But she was grinning.
"Okay, let's go grab some things and then we can see about getting a flight." |
"Good plan," Jason replied, trying to catch his breath as well. He gestured for her to go. "After you, then."
Nika grinned briefly and headed back over to her car to rifle through the trunk and get her duffel bag so she could stuff some clothes and a few books in there.
"Your turn. Think we should tell your sister so she doesn't freak out?" |
"Knowing her, she knew before we did," Jason replied as he popped the trunk on his new car. Yup, his stuff was there, like he thought. He looked through the emergency bag he kept there to see if he had everything he would need. "And I think I need to run to my cabin to get some clothes. Feel like coming with?"
"Sure." Nika grinned and followed him back into the camp proper. No one paid them much mind, which was fine by her.
Lucky for him, Jason found the cabin empty when he got there, so he was able to grab some of his things and cram them into his bag.
"Alright, I think I have what I need," he said. He looked at Nika. "You need anything before we leave camp?" |
Nika shook her head. "No, I should be good now." She grinned briefly, grabbing his hand. "Now let's go see what we can manage."
Jason grinned as well and nodded.
"Yeah," he said. "There has to be a flight somewhere heading out to Hawaii today. Has to be." |
"Come on, airport's not that far from here." Nika grinned, heading back to the cars. "Let's go see what we can find."
"Sounds like a plan to me," Jason replied, grinning. "My car or yours?" Legitimate question, considering Nika's control issues and her driving habits.
"Depends how fast you want to get there." Nika shrugged. "I can get us there in an hour." She raised her eyebrows at him. Either way was fine with her.
"Up to you," Jason replied. "Doesn't matter to me either way."
"My car it is." Nika grinned as she moved over to her car, getting in and settling down, waiting for him to get comfortable before she started driving.
Jason got in and made sure to put on the seat belt before really settling back in the seat. Never hurt to be doubly careful, really. Nika hadn't crashed yet, but there was always that first time. No sense in tempting the Fates.
Nika got them to the airport in record time and parked without so much as a scratch, grinning as she went to go get her things. She didn't even have to worry about bringing weapons in with her; she had her magical stash she could get to.
