Gabriel couldn't help but grin. But then he controlled himself and it dropped. He wasn't used to showing his emotions, especially not to Damian. And he wasn't going to start doing it all of a sudden. "Thanks.." he said. That will have to be enough for now. And he'd have to try harder to get their father to notice him.

Damian was so happy when he saw his brother smile and it made him feel.... nice to see that smile. He made a note to make his brother smile a little more often, but he also made a note not to over-smother his brother now that they were on the path to getting along again.

"Well... I should be getting back to bed." Gabriel said, yawning. He was exhausted. Maybe now he would be able to get some sleep. At least, he hoped so. He smiled slightly at Damian again before turning and heading back to his room.

Damian nodded, smiling at him. "Try to get some sleep," he bid, watching his brother go before closing the door behind him with a smile. He was so happy the two were on their way to getting along again. Smiling a bit more, he climbed into bed and tried to get comfortable.

Gabriel went back to his room and laid on his bed. It took about an hour, but he finally managed to fall asleep. And slept straight through til he was woken up in the morning for breakfast. He felt much better after getting some rest.

Damian woke up a bit earlier than his brother having fell asleep a bit faster than he did. Stretching out, he got dressed and went to breakfast, hoping today would be a good day and the beginning of a nice new turn in his life.

Gabriel was a good mood when he went down to breakfast. But, he kept his face calm and blank, like it always was. No need to make people suspicious about him for any weird reason. People would think he was crazy if he suddenly started all happy and perky. Especially early in the morning.

Damian was always in a neutral mood, sometimes in a good mood, so he could happily show his good mood with pride as he began to eat, seeing his brother come down the stairs. Regarding him as he always did in the morning, he just put things on his plate and continued to eat, wondering what this day held for him.

Gabriel's eyes briefly went to Damian as he took a seat and began putting food on his plate. "..Good morning.." he said, his voice quiet, starting to eat. Just because things changed between him and his brother doesn't mean things would go better during their classes. He just hoped that it would be.

Damian ate and hoped the same thing his brother hoped for. His brother had amazing talent and it needed to be recognized - future king or not. And if he had to point out his skills and talent's himself - by George - he would. Damian nodded to himself as he made his plan.

Gabriel finished eating a few minutes later. He didn't eat much, but that was because he normally wasn't very hungry in the mornings. Once done, he stood, stretched and left the room, heading to the classroom. Time to get this over with. The sooner it was done, the sooner he could go do something that he actually wanted to do.

Damian finished up a little bit after he did and followed him into the class, as much as he dreaded doing so. Sighing, he sat near his brother and waited for the hell to begin so that they could go and do what they wanted to do, which would be whatever for his brother and reading a good fantasy novel for him.

The teacher arrived shortly and the class began. And, like always, Damian got more attention than Gabriel. Which, of course, put the younger prince in a bad mood. Even if it didn't show on his face. He would like the lessons except for that little detail of him being ignored.

Damian looked at the teacher and sighed. "You know - just because I'm the future king doesn't mean that I deserve any more attention than my brother. Who knows - I could keel over tomorrow and that'd leave him in the king's spot. And we certainly wouldn't want an under educated and appreciated king." he stated bluntly, making the teacher blink.

Gabriel was touched at Damian's concern. Though he didn't want his brother to go through any trouble for him. "Damian. Just let it go. Its fine." he told him. It wasn't like the teacher was just going to suddenly change because he was told to. People just don't do that.

Damian waved off his brother's words, looking over at him. "What I said is the truth. I could die tomorrow - who knows!" he told, laughing lightly. It was as if the concept didn't bother him one bit. "And besides - you so much better at me than this, could you explain it?" he asked, scooting over to his brothers side, ignoring the teacher's rambling.

"Don't talk about dying, Damian. I don't want to hear that." Gabriel said. He didn't want to think about it either. He wanted his brother to live for a long time. If he was gone, then he'd be alone and he wasn't sure if he could handle that. So this kind of talk needed to stop.

Damian blinked then nodded with a smile. "Alright, I'll stop." he assured, not wanting his brother to get flustered over it. The teacher was unsure of what to do now that the prince asked for help from his brother instead of him and just sat hesitantly at his desk.

"Good." Gabriel said. He was glad that Damian was going to stop. He was silent for a few minutes, thinking. "How much longer is this class?" he asked, ready to get out of here. He really needed some space and time to himself.

Damian smiled at his brother and blinked. "Well only a few minutes more but we can go if you want." he told, ignoring his teacher's brustle at the younger boy taking control of the whole show. Damian knew how his brother hated these classes and enjoyed his alone time.

Gabriel shook his head. "No. Its fine. I can wait." Another couple of minutes wasn't going to kill him, after all. Then he could go off and find something to do that will occupy his time. Maybe go out to the stables and go for a ride. That was always fun.

Damian nodded and sat there, not sure what else to say to his brother. He stayed silent for the last few minutes before they were dismissed and then he got up, bowed respectfully and let his brother have space.

Gabriel was out the door the instant they were dismissed. Normally, he would head to his room, but today he wanted some fresh air. So, it was off to the stables for him. It wasn't hard to arrange to go for a ride. As long as he stayed in the grounds, that was. But it was fine. It wasn't like he had anywhere to go anyway.

Damian went to the library and nuzzled into his own little spot, smiling to himself as he grabbed his book and started up where he left off. Today went good, his brother and him shared words. Words, not glares towards him. Yes, today turned out quite well and that made him smile.

Gabriel didn't ride for very long, just about an hour or so. He put the horse back in the stables before heading inside and going to the library to get his homework done. Then there should be time for a nap before dinner. If he was lucky, that is. He arrived at the library and instantly saw Damian. And though he wasn't sure if he wanted to be near him, his feet took him over there anyway.
