Damian was completely lost within his fantasy world and the homework they were supposed to do was forgotten to him as he continued reading. This was how he passed most of his time, and he couldn't think of a better way to do so. That fragile, fragile world was shattered by footsteps and he looked up to see his brother. "Gabriel! What're you doing here?" he asked, blinking.
"I came to do my homework.. Though I could go to my room to do it if I'm bothering you." Gabriel said. Sure, the library was the best place to get the work done, but he could easily do it in his room. He just didn't want to be a bother to his brother.
"Oh you're not a bother at all," he told, giving him a smile. It was then Damian blinked and rubbed the back of his neck. "W-what homework..." he said, giving a nervous laugh. It was like Damian to forget something like that.
"The homework we have for class... Were you not paying attention?" Gabriel asked. Even if Damian didn't do his work, he'd still get a better grade than Gabriel. Which was another thing that annoyed him, but he kept that to himself.
"Oh yeah that... well, do you need help on it?" he asked, giving his brother a smile. Its the precise reason why he never did his homework - he tried to get his brother attention and it rarely worked, much to his frustration.
He thought about it. He really didn't need help, but he wanted to help rebuild his bond with his brother. So, he nodded. "Sure. I could use some help." he told him, a small smile on his face.
Damian put the bookmark back where it belonged and he shut the book, putting it away. "Alrighty - lets get started." he said, smiling and stretching out with a sigh. "Now... what is it again?" he asked, laughing nervously.
"It was history. You really need to start paying attention when the teacher assigns a lesson." Gabriel said. It seemed that Damian was the one who needed help with the homework, not him. Either way, he was going to try to bond with his brother.
Damian laughed. "Yeah - you're right, as always," he agreed, shaking his head with a smile. The future king hated doing school work and home work, yet he always got a better grade which wasn't fair. But he'd change that and really quickly too for he had a plan to do so.
"I'm not always right." Gabriel said. He'd been wrong plenty of times in his life. He knew that for a fact. "So. Where should we begin?" he asked, his brother. Though he knew that he could get it done in just a few minutes if he needed to.
"You're right most of the time," Damian told, pulling out a chair and smiling at him lightly. "Uhm... the beginning?" he suggested, looking at the book that they were supposed to look at.
".. We're past the beginning of the book. We're more towards the middle, I think." Gabriel said. They had gone over the beginning of the book last week. Apparently Damian wasn't paying attention then either.
Damian blinked then blushed lightly in embarrassment. "I-I knew that." he stuttered, then flipped to the middle of the book. He remembered hearing a certain chapter last week then turned to the chapter after that.
Gabriel smiled slightly at him and opened his own book to the correct chapter. The homework wasn't hard. They just had to read the chapter then write a report explaining what they read. Simple, really.
And after figuring that out - Damian opened the book and began reading. Of course - he took it slow so that him and his brother could stay on the same page - literally.
Every few minutes, Gabriel would glance up at Damian, making sure his brother was actually working. Once he had finished reading, he began working on the report.
Damian began to write, actually working that time. He wanted to make his brother proud of him, weather he knew that his brother knew he was proud of him or not.
It didn't take long for Gabriel to finish his report. But, he didn't get up right away. He watched Damian from the corner of his eye, pretending to be still working.
Damian took a bit, scratching his head and trying to get it done, being a bit slow but at least trying to get it done. Biting his nail, he hesitently put a few things in before smiling, glad he got it done.
Gabriel didn't notice when Damian finished. While he was waiting, he leaned back in his seat and his eyes had closed. He was almost instantly asleep.
Damian looked at his brother and smiled softly. He wouldn't disrupt his brother, so he let him be, reading back on his history lessons, and would try to catch up before his brother's catnap was done.
Gabriel didn't sleep for very long. Just for another hour or so. When he woke up, he sleepily rubbed his eyes and yawned quietly. It was a good nap, but now he wasn't sure if he would be able to get to sleep tonight.
Damian gave him a smile. "Good evening, did you sleep well?" he asked, watching him.
Gabriel nodded. "Yeah. I did. But you shouldn't have let me fall asleep at this time. Now I'm going to be up all night." he told him.
Damian looked down a bit. "I'm sorry - you just looked tired... Do you even sleep much anymore?" he asked, frowning lightly. He was worried about his younger brother.
