Laughing, the young woman stuck out her tongue in imitation of the harpy. Still smiling, she bent her head to speak with the young woman below. "It shouldn't take too long!" With that said, she began tugging Xikah behind her. With her Bachelor, Orelia had to know where the janitors were. Sometimes painting could get extremely messy.

As they walked, she turned her head to look at Xikah. "So, what king of bird? We need to be able to keep it in a cage when we aren't there.. So don't make it too fat!" Smiling, Orelia gave in to the urge to place a kiss on his cheek. IT was a quick peck, because she could see old Mrs. Stanley in her coveralls and janitorial equipment in tow. Quickly walking over to the woman, Orelia smiled. "Someone's got a stuck chicken over in the stairwell by the Art department. You'll need a ladder to get it out," Orelia stated simply. Mrs.Stanley nodded and went off to gather her things in order to rescue the fat chicken.

Sucking his tongue back in he looked mildly upset. "But if I can't make it fat how can we eat it?" He knew exactly where most of his food came from, it was something that helped him when he didn't live near humans that he could steal from. Despite being feathered himself, the harpy really did enjoy eating just about everything, including other winged creatures. And if he could fill the thing with Mn'Ms in the process then all the more happy his meal will be.

The quick kiss made him smile again and nearly caused him to flutter his wings. The older woman down the hall shuffled past them on her way to retrieve the trapped bird. Xikah tried to get Orelia's hand so he could keep her close, but missed as she moved and grabbed at her bag instead. He quickly let go of it and tried again for her hand. "So, home now? I feel stuffy not being able to act out and cause some minor trouble. What do you think you're going to paint for that project?" having gotten hold of her hand he was ready to walk outside again.

Incredulous laughter escaped Orelia. She should have expected something of the sort! Shaking her head with tears in her eyes, Orelia was sure no one else ever had to deal with such strange things. Then again, it was so fun! Interesting was better then boring, much better then dull. "In that case, we'll get a chicken and you can get it as fat as you want, but no M and Ms We'll have to look up what to feed them, and then sneak it into the apartment and make sure it doesn't make a sound. " Orelia kind of felt bad for the thing, but knew there would be no talking the harpy out of this particular escapade.

Still laughing, the young woman began leading the tengu harpy outside. Actually, there was a nearby door which led straight out. Orelia had planned on leaving by there anyway, so her bright yellow car was parked right outside. It wasn't long before she had clambered in and tried to get Xikah inside beside her too. "Home it is then! Maybe we could get your cousin to get some other people of strange persuasions to come stay in the same building. Wouldn't that be nice!" She was purposefully avoiding the subject of her project. Orelia wanted to paint a dragon, and not just any dragon.. A black one! The young woman didn't want to hurt Xikah's vain feelings by saying she wasn't painting him.

Happy, Xikah bounced lightly on his feet, the action looked really creepy if he was human but looked natural if he was a bird. There were still a few things that he didn't think were abnormal actions, so at times he still looked out of place. Seeing the yellow car he bounced into the side seat, careful not to sit on his tail and wiggled his talons. He was excited to return back and get cooking, he was starting to get hungry. "Oh yeah, I'm sure she knows of some in the area. She might have said something about an elemental in the building, or was that the next building or down the street or uh..." He looked at her with a dumb expression on his face as he clearly couldn't remember what he was trying to talk about. Suddenly his eyes lit up again as thoughts continued on their path in his brain. "Maybe I will meet some tonight!! At work! I got a job you know." he was proud about that one even if he had help getting it.
He sniffed at the air out the window, much like a dog would. His eyes darkened dangerously and narrowed as a frown crossed his face. His lips started to curl up when he shook his head and smelled again at the passing air. Whatever it was, was gone now. Still his face held a slight frown as they drove home.

Still laughing, she followed the harpy into the car. Starting it, but not driving yet, Orelia listened with a smile. "It'd be wonderful to meet others of the supernatural persuasion... Hey, we could have a party!" Their place was just enough for the two of them, but maybe everyone could pitch in and rent one of the community halls or a gym.. On second thought, there was a basement in their apartment building. All they needed to do was convince the owner to let them take over the area.

"O yeah! You never did explain what exactly you were doing." Starting the car, she nudged him with her foot. A smile was plastered on Orelia's face, until she noticed how Xikah looked. Worry filled her eyes. "Is something wrong?" It seemed like the drive home trough the city was going to be a long one. The apartment wasn't too far, only ten minutes away, but traffic was making that trip to something twice as long.

Xikah looked over to her, the slight frown still lingering on his face, "Thought I smelled something that shouldn't be here, maybe I'll find out more at work. I forgot to tell you? I'm working for the same group that Sky works with!! I'm gonna be a delivery hawk! I think she said that they work with finding and placing and moving people like me! That's where she gets her connections! She said I can fly around at night and might be able to help out with some detecktivings... whatever that is." He grinned widely at her. It all sounded like an adventure to him, and he liked adventures. As long as there wasn't were-bears involved.

"Ooo! Party!? Like the one I met you at? or can this one just be food and us?" He still wasn't used to the idea of having to share his human with others. He thought that he would have her all to his own, but apparently humans flocked like the big rookeries of harpies but were nicer about it all. He really didn't miss being with his mom's troupe, and now that his dad stayed with the flock he didn't want to see him all that much either. Xikah liked being with his nest-mate without having others screeching and flapping about.

Orelia pulled into the parking lot of their apartment building as she burst out laughing. Xikah certainly knew how to make things interesting! "I'm glad you like your ob so much already!" QUickly snapping her seat belt off the young woman stepped out of her car and walked towards the entrance of the apartment complex. She didn't answer the other sentence yet because she needed to think. It would be nice indeed to spend some time together just the two of them. Lately it seemed like everything was conspiring to make sure they were never alone. Why, the night before a kelpie had crashed at their place because she had no where else to go!

The moment Xeek joined her, Orelia smiled. "A party for just us would be nice, though another one like where we met would be wonderful too. Maybe we could manage both?" Placing her hand in the harpy's the young woman began climbing the stairs. Elevators didn't give her exercise, still she worried a little about Xikah. His feet just didn't seem all that well adapted to the stairs.

Walking hand in hand with the human he made it into the apartment building. Looking at the steps he squinted at them as if daring them to trip him up again. He tired to take a step but they were narrow and his talons couldn't get a decent grip on them, his foot nearly slipped off. Determined to beat these stairs he screwed up his face and bird-hopped up to the next one, he had to let go of Orelia's hand to do so, but it seemed to be working. Taking the steps in tiny hops he made his way up the stairs, turning to face his girlfriend he smiled widely, "HA! See I beat these dumb stair creatures! I am the best! best at stair mastering! I am-- Whoop!" during his prideful boasting he wiggled causing him to lose grip on the top step sending him falling backwards in a very undignified manner. Landing on his tail he let out a cry before biting his tongue for quiet, he looked at her with a sad frown on his face. He was too preoccupied feeling sorry for himself that he didn't hear the crow like cackle from beyond the stairwell window, it really did sound like a small group of crows chattering. Rubbing his soar butt he stood up and carefully took the last few steps up to the landing. "I don't like these tiny 'Partment stairs. They didn't think about me when they made them. We need wider steps if we want a party in the nest." Pouting he stood there mumbling about the stairs.

Orelia watched in silent amusement as her boyfriend tried to navigate the stairs. Politely she walked below him to make sure he had all the space he needed, though along the way Orelia found herself a few steps above the harpy. That was when he fell. A worried gasp escaped her, and before she knew it Orelia had moved forward. Though after seeing him get up so quickly a small relieved smile crossed her lips. "We'll take the elevator next time, I promise." Reaching the place beside Xikah, the young woman placed a promising kiss on the tengu's lips.

Taking his hand, she fumbled out the key to their apartment with the other. As they walked Orelia tried to think of which party she wanted more. "We can start planning our little party tonight if you want. And maybe the big one too." Turning her head, she could feel her hair leaping free from it's bun. "I still have a hard time understanding why you don't want me to meet your parents." She knew he said they were horrible, but the thought was simply so strange for Orelia.

The soft kiss made him weak in the knees and he practically melted. Still standing, he dreamily followed her into the unit, blinking he came back to reality. He really did have his own nest with his nestmate, and they could even host parties at their nest it was big enough! ADHD returning, Xikah threw his arms up and bounded into the small kitchen, "I can make food for everyone! Everyone will eat Xeek's food and they will marvel and wonder at the amazing that is my food! I'm not some crazy waste tromping harpy-born wildling. I can cook! That makes Xikah better and more axeceptables."

He started rummaging through the fridge, getting things together for their dinner that he had promised, when he heard that not-quite-a-question. Rolling his eyes he turned to face her as she managed the paintings. Balancing veggies in one hand, oils and spices in the other and a bag with a slab of meat on his head, the sight clashed with his grumpy but serious face. "I've told you before, human-girl, you are not meeting my parents. You wouldn't want to. My mom is a harpy; a real, true blooded, fierce, filthy, hateful wench of a harpy. And Dad? He's a Tengu; probably has torn apart and eated some lost folks, at least seduced and raped a few people, possibly started small wars, and caused general trouble. They are not like Sky and me, somehow by escaping the flock we managed better." He had explained some of this to her before, but he wanted to drill it into her that there was no way he was going to let her meet them. He was afraid of what they could do to her if they found her. This half breed wanted nothing to happen to his mate, she was too pure and good and beautiful, and he would certainly lose his mind and go feral or crazy if something did.

Laughing, Orelia shook her head. Sometimes Xikah could even surprise her. His words did bring a little idea to her mind, a wonderful one at that. "Have you ever thought of opening a restaurant since you love cooking so much? Or do I get to keep that marvelous skill all to myself?" Smiling still, she hung a painting up on the wall. Of course, she had to climb onto a chair to do so, but that was fine. As she did so, dark shapes fluttered at the windows, unbeknown to either occupants of the space. the shadows watched, this time quietly taking in every detail of the scene.

Turning around, she saw Xeek with all the food but couldn't laugh as she saw the expression on his face. His words, spoken seriously, finally did their work. Xikah was never serious, ever! Not even when werebears attacked him did he make a serious comment. The only exception to that had been when Orelia broke down. Since then, it had never happened again until now. "But, they're still your family! I'm probably being an idiot, I do believe what you're saying but... It's hard to imagine them managing to have you. Isn't there an ounce of decency in them? Speaking of families, you do still need to meet mine... In all your harpy tengu glory. I told them you're strange, but they have no idea how much." Christmas was going to be very different that year. So different, and crazy... Her parent's were going to have a fit, but hopefully they would trust Orelia enough to know who made her happy.

"Maybe an ounce shared between them, speaking of ounces I need to get more green onions!" he tried to balance more on his head as he dove back into the fridge his tail swaying back and forth as he searched. "I can make food to make money? Will this make me more human-like? Do I have to meet your parents? Where did I put the meat?" the questions flew as Xikah moved around the kitchen trying to prepare dinner, the meat still balancing on his head. He didn't understand the concept of restaurants and was used to keeping this particular talent hidden. Other members of the supernatural community usually ate unconventional or raw foods and tended to be wary of those who took the time to prepare and cook a meal. The harpy-tengu wasn't looking forward to meeting her parents, he was still fearful that they might be like his and try to take her away from him.

Rolling her eyes Orelia moved forward. Plucking the meat from his head, she placed on the counter in plain sight. "Yes, you can make money by making food." An idea came to the brunette's mind, making her smile. There were a few restaurants in town who would accept such a strange person in their midst. Maybe this would be something they could do the next night. "It wouldn't make you more human like, but that's alright. As for meting my parents... You don't have to but it would be nice." Especially if they ended up getting married. At the thought, Orelia laughed.

And with that Xikah knew that he had to meet her parents, if it was something that would make her happy then he did it. He was a sucker for his human-girl, having once said that he would watch her and protct herhe knew that it was going to a long time thing. "Ok. We can meet your parents, but not mine. Sky is the only bit of my family you're gonna meet."
He took the meat and sliced it before tossing it into the boiling broth and noodles in the wok. Already the aromas of the meal were filling up the room.he had learned not to use his feet as extra hands for holding things a long time ago when he decided he didn't want tp be associated with his mother's flock, but the long claw like nails he had gave him a good grip on the food.the harpy tengu had slipped into a zone while cooking, completly missing the dark shapes as they left.

"Darling? Are you positive that this 'agency' knows of the where abouts of this clutch that you're searching for? And is there going to be enough cover and sufficent space to hide Tempo? Also, am I looking pallid again?" he held close to the dragon rider as they passed over the towns below. Having since opened trading and allainces with the dragon kin and the riders, Julian was not only the youngest but now touted as one of the more important to step into the office of undead presidency. But he hadn't been back to his home lands in a while as he was hoping to find Weft and get some information from his old friend, word of a rare clutch of dragon eggs delrailed their initial intent, but was just as important.

((Yay, Jules and Irian are in!))

His words brought a bright smile to Orelia's face. Without thinking she waltzed into the kitchen and hugged Xikah. A small hum of approval left her at the smell of such appetizing food. Orelia wasn't much of a cook herself, but she appreciated someone who could do so. "Do you think you could teach me how to cook sometime? I, well I would like to try and make something for you." A hint of rose crept up her cheeks. At times the young brunette surprised herself.

Xikah seemed to have given up so much just to be with her... It made Orelia treasure every moment spent with him. The same knowledge also haunted her. What if Xikah decided she wasn't worth it?

Irian pondered the questions while silently communicating with Tempo. She wasn't worried about hiding the dragon. They'd done it many times before without any trouble, but Julian hadn't been there to see. Of course, his close proximity always made her blush furiously. Not many people would have understood her attraction to him, he was dead after all. "We've done this before, it isn't as hard as it seems to hide a dragon in a city. " Turning back the red head sparred a glance for the black clad man behind her. Wrinkling her nose a little, she examined Julian to make sure he looked alive. "You look like a video gamer who stays inside all the time, you'll be fine." Her thoughts went to the agency and the all important eggs. Without them, the draconic race lost a toehold on it's survival. "No I'm not sure about the information, but it's much better then nothing."

Xikah came back to earth with the hug, how she managed to fit perfectly between his wings still managed to amaze him. "Hmm? Oh, yeah I could give it a try. But if you burn it and make it all crispies don't expect master cooker Xeek to fix it. Tomorrow, we can make some simple tapas and if you likes we can keepies for a parties! Tiny tapas is yummy." dinner was done and the harpy-tengu tried plating with his human still hugging him. He pulled her across the kitchen as he got plates down and served them both. "I gets to fly tonight! And carry important stuff for them. And meets new monster people. And all sorts of other stuff." in his excitment he didn't see one of his feathers float gently to sit on one of the plates.

~~~
The ghoul mulled things over, he trusted Irian when it came to her dragon but he wasn't certain that he enjoyed the idea of looking like a chromic video gamer. He was used to looking corpse like, but rarely outside of his realm, the undead-living relationship was very poor and he didn't want to weaken it any more. Although he was looking washed out he wasn't about to reach for another "special snack" of his, if looking undead could cause alarm than eating anything that resembled flesh definetly would.
"I trust you, however I still feel that Weft would know more reliable. But information on a clutch is very important no matter how much. Well, are we ready to face whatever this agency is?" he hugged her a little tighter as Tempo made a bank and dropped in altitude seemingly ready to land.
At the mention of burning the food Orelia could only make a face. She was so bad that it wouldn't just be crispy, it would be carbonized. Hopefully that wouldn't happen under Xikah's instruction... Then again he got distracted so easily.
As he moved the young woman loosened her grip upon him until she noticed the fallen feather. Smiling indulgently Orelia plucked it from the plate. "And I'm sure you'll do a wonderful job." With laughter, she placed the feather in her pocket for safe keeping. Every time Xikah lost one the young woman tucked it safely away, she planned on making a necklace with them and had been working on the clasps secretly.
Tempo landed slowly behind a large stand of trees in a relatively empty park. It helped that the dragon had some grasp of magic and had placed a glamor upon himself. Not all of his kind could do such things, but those who could had survived. Irian smiled as soon as her friend landed.
The red head turned to face the ghoul with practiced ease and placed her arms around him. Her head tucked in his shoulder, Irian allowed herself to relax a little. "I'm ready, and far more relaxed then I would be if you weren't here with me Julian." Pulling back a little the young woman made sure yet again that he looked alive enough to go out in public.
Xikah started eating from his plate before he got them to the table, if he ever did get the idea to start his own restaurant it was a habit he would have to break. Siting down, he had already tucked away a good bit of his plate and had tried his hardest to leave Orelia's untouched. "Of course! I'm the best at things like this, nothing can beat me! And I maybe I can finds pretty shinies for my human-girl too?" it was a drastic change in just a few weeks, he was willing to share and even give shiny baubles to someone else. Kicking his feet in joy he downed the rest of his dinner, grinning widely across the table. If Orelia hadn't shown him how to read the pocket watch he had "found" he wouldn't have noticed that the clock on the wall told him that he had ten minutes to get to his new job. Bouncing up, he perched on the table (a harpy trait that still hung on) to kiss her over her dinner. "I leave now, yes? You keep safe and not disappear. Ok?" He gave her a slightly worried look, always afraid that something might try to take her from him.
~~~

He sighed, his nerves on end, "You may be relaxed, but I'm worried enough for the three of us. And they say the dead take a relaxed approach to life... hehehe." he tried to make a joke that just flopped, he wasn't used to being surrounded by people who didn't believe in the supernatural side of things and didn't know whether he stood on firm ground here. Toss him into a political dog fight or an uneasy diplomacy treaty, and he knew where he was, but here among people who couldn't or chose not to see the worlds right beside theirs was uneasy. He took her hand and squeezed it lightly, "You can take the lead, but if things start getting bureaucratic I'll step in and try to clear things up. Let's get that info." Julian grinned his pearly smile, erasing his unease for a moment.

The young woman watched with a gleeful smile as Xikah babbled on about his job. At the mention of finding things for her, Orelia blushed deeply and tried to hide the fact without much success. It was hard to fathom why Xikah had suddenly started wanting to give her things... He tended to collect things and for a while had jealously guarded them from everyone, including her. Suddenly that had changed, leaving Orelia out of the loop. "You know I won't object as long as you don't steal. I would really, kind of like that actually..." finished the brunette lamely. Finishing her food, the young woman couldn't help but laugh at Xikah's childish antics. She might have found it a little annoying, if it hadn't been for the fact that underneath that demeanor there lay something more which drew out the best in her.

Musing silently about her thoughts, Orelia was surprised as Xikah hopped onto the table to kiss her. Savoring the sensation with the same amazement as always, the young woman then shook her head at his worry. "No need to worry. I'll stay right here, and if I leave I'll call you. I promise." Standing up Orelia wrapped her arms around Xikah and gave him a tight hug, "Now get going before you're late!" The brunette's eyes twinkled as she pulled away from the harpy and motioned to the balcony.

She knew he was nervous. They might not have known each other for too long, but that much was obvious. "Well we both know stereotypes are usually wrong in some way or other." Tilting her head to the side the red head allowed herself to remember when they had first met. Irian had been so afraid! Not because this wonderful man was a ghoul, but because she liked him so much and didn't want him to be another failure. Men had wanted to use her in order to gain Tempo, it never worked but it always hurt. Then Julian had arrived on the scene and changed everything.

Squeezing his hand in return, the woman began walking towards the uniquely old building which housed the headquarters of the people they wanted to meet. Looking at Julian with a twinkle in her brown eyes, Irian couldn't help the flutter of joy which filled her heart. She loved his smile. "Oh don't worry about that! I wouldn't stand in your way, you know how much I hate politics even though I'm immersed in it most of the time." Being one of rare dragon riders still roaming the lands certainly complicated things sometimes, but Irian would never have given it up.

Hopping into the window he fell through, his wings snapping open catching him mid-fall. Looping back up to wave goodbye to her, Xikah took off into the night, ready to start a new adventure. He crinkled his nose again as he flew over a small forest, it smelled strange, like a large predator or many lizards, he would have fled in the opposite direction if he didn't think that things like this would become more common with his new job. He was trying to ignore the mixed smells of these humans and those of the supernatural world.

"Aha!" He said to himself as he spotted the old building, it looked just like the picture Skyler had showed him. "Now for their new best messenger to arrive! They will love me and ask me to save them all the time!" he was talking to himself about the grandiose idea he filled his head with. He swooped down low and banked back up to land on the roof, now leaning over to look inside the windows he lost his balance and fell in side. Skyler looked up and shook her head, at least he had made it. "Yo!" Xikah announced himself as he tried to find his feet and set them under his body.

~~~
Julian caught his hands in his pockets, stopping them from fluttering about nervously. His grin beamed as he picked up his pace and turned to face her as he took a few steps backwards and up a small set of stairs to the front door. By turning his back to the building he missed the swooping shadow landing on the roof. "I know, I know. But still, there are things that we both can help each other out with. Come let's introduce ourselves and our query." He opened the door for her, stepping to the side to let her go ahead and take the lead. He didn't know just what type of people were on the other side of the door, but he assumed it was better that a living was the first to approach them.
~~~

Shadows fluttered as they watched the flamboyant harpy-tengu leave the building. Soft laughter grew into harsh cackling. "Time long last Xikah flew with Family. He need return now." A low raspy female voice spoke with malice. "We take human-girl, son return to mother."

Smiling, the red head stepped across the threshold. As she did so, Irian placed a quick peck onto Julian's cheek. The sight before her eyes as she walked inside brought Irian up short. Simply because the wings of these people were oh so fascinating. With a small laugh, she snapped herself out of it after hearing Tempo snort mentally at such behavior.

"Hello! My name is Irian, and I've come here with my friend Julian because we heard some rumors about dragon eggs. Maybe you'd be able to help?" Motioning here and there as she spoke, the young woman didn't notice the wistful tone which crept into her voice. Irian had been searching for so long, and three quarters of the leads she found were dead ends or too old to be followed to their end. It was becoming a desperate race against time, this saving of the draconic race.

Rolling her eyes at the tengu's antics, the young woman waved him off with a laugh. Setting about putting away the dishes and cleaning them, Orelia couldn't help but look a little longingly at the sky. sometimes she wondered what it would be like to dance in the sky with Xikah... The thoughts were interrupted by a crash and a bang. Loud, harsh voices resounded trough the room as dark winged shapes dove for the young woman. Even before a scream left her they were out of the room and in the sky.

The one resounding thought in Orelia's head was that she wished for a frying pan. If she could defeat a werebear with such a thing, then certainly these creatures might have fallen against the same weapon.

Xikah gave a crooked stare at the two that had just walked in, then a slight breeze wafted in his direction. He cringed at the scent, Skyler merely blinked it away, and their boss just faced them with a fake smile plastered across his face. A few heads poked around corners and from behind hatches, everyone who was there wanted to see what the news was about. Xikah didn't know anything, it being his first night, so he just continued to stare unhelpfully. "Hey!You're dead--Aughh!" Xikah hopped painfully after getting kicked by his cousin.

"Never mind him. Welcome, Irian and Julian, to the Paranormal Placement and Wayhouse. It seems you're not here for our usual services but I'm sure someone here has the information you're looking for." She looked around for help from any of the others. There wasn't anything in her daily notes or in the memos she had sitting in her little reception area.

~~~
"Uh... Iri..." The ghoul looked very uncomfortable for being called out like that. Suddenly a change of character came over him and he turned to face them. Serious and business like he reintroduced themselves. "Excuse me, uh, Miss. I am Julian Al'Ghul, elected ruler of the undead, and this is Irian the dragon-rider. We are here on a cross-realm dignitary mission in search of missing citizens assumed to be in grave danger, pardon the wordage. We come to you interested in any and all information you may have on this situation." His eyes lost the glimmer of life, returning to a very dead stare. Suddenly he seemed slightly dangerous in a mysterious government way.
~~~

The shrill shrieks sounded like music to her as she perched waiting. Cackling happily her flock came closer with her prey, she could see them through the thick cover of leaves. She fluffed her wings as they came closer, narrowing her eyes she grinned. Her teeth were jagged and yellow as she spoke. "You are Human-girl my Fledgling flew for. I Freya, Head of Roost."

Bobbing his head up, the purple haired man grinned. He was a strange being really, handsome to the extent that humans and fauns loved chasing after them... Yes, Erasmus was a nymph and a male one at that. Shifting his light form, he left his cubicle and waved offhandedly at Skyler. "I'll take care of this love, and maybe you'll finally agree to that date you keep rejecting so gleefully." Turning to the undead man, Erasmus's green eyes sparkled with undisclosed emotions.

"There's a set of cliffs on the outskirts of the city. The place is infested with nasty little daimonia lurking around. You know, those shadow creatures which absolutely delight in pain and suffering. In any case, I've heard there was a dragon who lived there once, kept the place nice and clean then those things ganged up on it. Poor thing ended up feeding them for half a century even after it's death..." Eying the pair, the nymph stretched out a blue tinged hand. Upon his palm appeared a small delicately wrought vial. Light emanated from it, absolutely pulsing with power. "Love feeds the light, and pushes away the darkness. So take this and find what you've come here to seek."

It was always a surprise to see Julian done this persona. Danger seemed to emanate from the ghoul when he was like this, warning everyone that he would get what he wanted no matter what it took. Irian moved to place a hand upon his arm and listened. The wait for someone to move forward wasn't too long, though it seemed like an eternity. This purple haired immortal seemed all too .. Happy in attitude to really have anything serious to recount.

Irian listened with great intent as the man began to speak. The story of this dragon broke her heart, and angered the fierce draconic emotions which belonged to Tempo. Those eggs, if they were there, might never hatch. And yet there was no chance Irian would refuse the search. Glancing at Julian, the red head moved forward to pluck the vial from the man's hand. It fit snuggly within her palm, and lit up with even more light if that was even possible."Julian, shall we go immediately or will we wait?" A small, fierce, smile tugged her lips up. Even if Julian wanted to rest, the dragon rider and her partner would most likely go gallivanting off alone.

The young woman regarded this startling creature and her motley entourage. They were filthy, feathers lay around everywhere in clumps. Excrement was smeared liberally over the trees and rocks , and where none was lay carcasses of long forgotten meals. It was a horrid sight, and all too typically what one could expect from harpies. Shuddering, Orelia realized why exactly Xikah had been so adamant about not meeting his parents. Alas it was too late for that.

Standing tall, she regarded Freya with a stern look. This was going to be a different battle then the one during the ball, and Orelia was determined not to fall into a quivering heap of tears this time. "My name is Orelia. I wonder if you could tell me why exactly I'm here?" Unintentionally, the young woman spoke to the harpy as she would a recalcitrant student who was rather fond of not listening.

Skyler rolled her eyes at her coworker, just glad to have these two dignitaries question answered. Returning to her front desk work she hid the slight blush on her face, she would never let Erasmus know that he got to her. The harpy missed that Xikah wasn't in her immediate view anymore.

In fact he had squatted down low below Skyler's desk, and out of most people's eye level. He was busy at work untying and re-tying shoelaces, blinking confused at hooves, and generally causing mayhem. It was probably due to the two guests that he hadn't been noticed, it wasn't like he was something easy to overlook. Hearing that silky voice he slowly stood up right behind the purple-haired man, his eyes were staring intently at the back of his head. Raising a hand just as slowly as he stood, he poked the nymph in between the shoulder blades.

~~~
"Immediately. For your sake, my dear, you look as if you could burst. And for the eggs' sake as well, we don't know what state they are in, but they can certainly use our help."Turning his attention back to his dragon-rider life flashed back into his eyes, excitement flooded him. The story of the dragon on the cliffs reminded him of something Weft had told him once, but he couldn't remember, it was something to ask when he saw the dracolich when they saw him next. He put his hand over her's clenching it just slightly.
Facing the immortal, the undead returned to his government persona, "If there is any more useful information you may have in regards to this matter, now would be a good time to reveal it.... uhh.... ??" Slipping out of serious to very confused he watched as the harpy like creature rose from basically nowhere behind the nymph, there was something about that kid that just confused him and made him feel weird.
~~~

Shrieking the harpy repeated her self, "I Freya, Head of Roost!! You human-filth sweet Xikah fly for! Freya need Xikah, use Human-girl!" Her simple English was terrible but got the message across. And the message wasn't a good one. It was easy to see the frustration behind those dumb eyes, and easier still to see the anger. Several of the other harpies shifted and hopped away from what looked like the path least covered in feces and carcasses.

A figure was heard before it was seen, bangles, bells and jangles jingled and clanged loudly as he stepped into the clearing. The man was decked out in colors, patterns, layers, silks, and the large wings coming out of his back had piercings and chains decorating them. He put Xikah's flamboyancy to shame, "Freya, you look gorgeous when you're angry, the beauty just illuminates off of you. If anything came close to your beauty, I would see to it that it was destroyed and made hideous." He buttered her up before approaching her, the only safe thing to do. "Miss, you are just a means to get to our ends. We want to see our Xikah flying with his flock as he should be, and if he can't then we'll see to it that he can't fly. And everyone who knew of him can't talk, or live in general." Between the wild danger of the Harpy and the evil danger of the Tengu, they somehow made a couple.

Pausing a moment, the nymph thought of the rumors intently. As he was about to answer, something poked Erasmus's back. Turning around, he smiled delightedly at the harpy tengu. What fun this would be with a new playmate in the place! "Well hello.. You're quite a handsome fellow aren't you." Erasmus flirted with anyone who wasn't obviously taken. Since he didn't know if this delightful bird was with anyone or not, he decided to flirt and play just to see what might happen. There was no telling, maybe someday the nymph would find someone who could deal with his wayward mannerisms. It would take someone truly fascinating to keep Erasmus's eyes on them. Glancign at Skyler, the purple haired man pursed his lips speculatively then returned his gaze to this newest arrival.

Though just before returning his attention to the harpy, he shrugged in the searching pair's direction with an apologetic smile.

The red head returned Julian's squeeze by grabbing hold of his hand tightly. Irian felt like she really would burst, with bot her impatience and Tempo's need to know if others of his race could be found. Sometimes dealing with two separate sets of emotions could be frustrating. The young woman knew very well how lonely Tempo found himself feeling sometimes when he witnessed what passed between his rider and the undead ambassador. "That sounds like a wonderful plan," stated Irian after watching the interaction between the harpy and the nymph. It was entertaining in a strange kind of way.

It brought to mind the differences between the way Julian was with her, and how he was with everyone else. The sweet though of it brought a warm feeling into the young woman's heart. They had years before them, centuries even, if they were able to keep this wonderful accord going.

A feeling of dread slipped into Orelia's heart. Danger and death, these she had faced before but never like this. If her bravery had been only for her sake, Orelia would have crumpled to the ground to stare at some point in defeat. As it was the young woman's mind whirled with a way of escape. There was no way Xikah was going to find out about this event. She refused to let his parent's manipulate him in this way, with her as the bait! "What I don't understand about all of this... Is the fact that you haven't even taken into account what your sweet son might want." After stating that, she tilted her head to the side in an unintentional imitation of Xikah's birdlike mannerisms.

Her eyes roved over the unlikely seeming pair before her, making the young woman grin. It was heart warming, in a weird kind of way, to see these two very different being together. "Well, I do wonder how you two ended up together. And now I see where Xikah gets his eccentric sense of fashion." At least she could distract them, if nothing else.
