The 5 Kingdoms (Fate's Pearl and 飛段's RP)

((Sorry I couldn't figure out a name for this RP I'll think of a better one later.))

Profile

Name Jasmine Shire
Age Young but years are counted different for each race
Race Naga (snake person)
Appearance Jasmine is a fair haired, kinda a blondish brown color, female. Her people have scaly skin of all colors, her's happens to be the dark greens and browns commonly found in the forest. She is short for a female of her race, only standing a little under 5'6. Jasmine is a busty girl for her species but would be considered only so so to a human. Her eyes are a bright golden color and are that of a snake. They are almond shape to go with the flow of her face, which is long and thin. Her nose is hardly noticeable and her mouth is thin. With a pair of snake like fangs amongst sharper than average teeth. Her nails are very fang like and although she is a snake person, her family has bred once or twice with humans, giving her legs instead of a tail. Her swift motions, and snake like speed have not been altered, nor has her venom. Young she has yet to fully dull out in color so her hair is still to human like soon it will shed and a silky, thinner, color appropriate hair will grow in. This is more scale looking of course.
Bio Jasmine grew up in the fourth kingdom with in the five that made up the surrounding area. This was the "Beasts' Land" as humans liked to call it. Like most Naga she hatched from an egg and was ready to fend for herself. Her parents only nurturing her for a short bit. Somewhere down the line here family had somehow successfully bred with a few humans. This allowed for her more human like appearance. Jasmine used this to her advantage and became a skilled hunter and tracker under her late teacher. Currently the female is just doing her thing in the western most kingdom.
Skills Tracking, hunting, dancing, and having a way of talking too much
Known weapons Daggers, a hunting knife, arrows and a bow, rope, and a club
Other She finds herself tracking things over kingdom lines a lot so she holds a permit in each kingdom for killing their wild animals. The only exception to this is the Undead Kingdom because she wants her food to stay dead. :)

飛段's Characters:
Name: Velindrel
Age: Somewhere in his four hundred's.
Race: Undead, previously human.
Appearance: Velindrel is completely skeletal, with no remaining flesh clinging to his bones. His bones are a cold, grayish hue, and stands at a height of 5'5", mostly due to the lessened height from having no meat to pad him up. He always wears a long hooded cloak, and and an amulet around his neck that was a gift from when he was still alive, though he does not remember who it was from.
Bio: Velindrel had always been curious of the Dark Arts even when he was still alive and mortal. As a swordsman, he previously worked as a mercenary within the kingdom of Humans, or Erathian, as the Humans called it. During one of his missions to acquire an artifact from the Deadlands (as the Humans called the kingdom of the Undead), he was struck down by poison when battling a lich. Due to the dark energy that was dominant within the country, he re-awoke as skeleton several years later. He gradually abandoned his former skills as a swordsman and began learning magic instead, becoming a lich like the one who had killed him, specializing in poison and pyro magic.
Skills: Dark magic (poison in particular), and Pyro magic. He can also wield a sword pretty well when needed, though he doesn't like doing so as it reminded him of his past life.
Known Weapons: An elder staff with an emerald atop, two small silver daggers, several scrolls with various spells enchanted within, and a longsword.
Other: He is a practical prankster who enjoys scaring others with his skeletal looks. He generally avoids combat when possible, and prefers to spend his time wandering around, sightseeing the world.

For reference:
Country of the Beastfolk: Ahg'shav (Beastfolk)
Country of the Undead: Deadlands (Humans)
Country of the Humans: Erathian (Humans)

((I don't mind the picture, I couldn't find one really for my character.))

"Don't move, don't move....stop moving." A soft voice whispered to itself as a deer moved forwards and backwards and forwards again. "Ok now your just messing with me." Jasmine side as she let the arrow go missing the deer for the fourth time. This stubborn ass was not leaving his little patch of grass, and not making the whole killing thing easy. "What the hell!? How is it every time I shoot one of these god forsaken arrows you move you fat cow!" Slumping over in defeat the naga female just watched with a twitch in her eye as the deer finished eating and walked off. Oblivious to the field full of arrows. Jumping down from the tree she had been perched in Jasmine slowly made her way over to pick up her arrows. She hated the deer in this part of the world. Especially in the land of the Beasts. She couldn't remember its proper name when she was this frustrated (I haven't come up with a good name for this country yet, in other words). Taking a deep breath she ripped an arrow out of the ground and tapped it off before returning it to the bag it came from.

Looking around herself she stuck out her fork like tongue tasting the air. Just dirt and flowers today. The normal forests tastes. No new smells or the like. Flicking it back and forth she looked around. Where did that deer go? Her eyes narrowed as she pulled up the last arrow and looked around the clearing. It was small but bright and warm. Around here there were tall trees and dark ground. Only in this part of the forest, the clearing, did she stick out with her dark colors. Walking out of the light she slid into these darker parts of the forest. Silently trying to find the tracks of her lost prey.

Antagonist 09-30-2011 05:18 AM

Velindrel was careful to keep most of his face covered with a large piece of clothe that was like a scarf, wrapped around his neck, as he walked. He was currently in Ahg'shav, land of the Beasts (thought they'd have a more 'guttural'-sounding name for their kingdom), and he was wary. All kingdoms with the exception of the Humans were quite sensitive to the scent of the undead, as he had found out the hard way. Beast-folk weren't as sensitive as the Mythical races nor the Elven folk, but they could still smell rotting flesh a mile (or in some cases, miles) away. He was grateful that he had ended up a skeleton and not a zombie, their decaying flesh would be a dead giveaway.

At the moment, he was in the countrysides near a large forest, the 'border' that separated the Ahg'shav and Erathian. The forest was known for its many different inhabitants, from normal creatures like deer and bears to Mahjuu, creatures that were more intelligent or powerful than usual animals, but not yet 'qualified' to be considered Beast nor Mythical, such as the Acromantula or the Slimes family. Most creatures tended to leave him alone, as attacking him would give them no food unless they lived off calcium.

Brushing aside a few branches to make way deeper into the forest, Velindrel was startled when a deer pranced past him in a blurred flash of brown, disappearing out of sight within seconds. The deer hadn't even so much as looked at him, probably thinking he was some sort of weirdly-shaped rock. The lich left it alone, as he was after the more toxic creatures of the forest. Their venom often inspired him when he was experimenting with more ways of twisting the magics of Poison.

((ShadowXV would like to join in on this RP, is that okay with you? :O))

Fate's Pearl 09-30-2011 05:30 AM

((Sure sure I don't mind. :) ))

It had taken Jasmine only a few moments before she found the deers trail and headed that way. Smelling all the while to keep up on the warm blooded creature. Maybe she'd catch a whiff of something more tasty like a rabbit or a squirll or something easier it take down or trap. Hissing in frustration she slid around a tree catching sight of something cold, very cold in the middle of the path to her original pray. Switching her eyesight from snake to human she blinked at the skeleton figure just a few meters away. Sliding up a tree she blinked a few times before shrugging it off. Undead things were creepy in her mind. Not for the normal reasons either. It was the eye thing, when you talked to a skeleton for example you can't look them in the eyes. They don't have any, they are eyeball-less. Was that even a word? None the less that's what she called it eyeball-less. They had no eyeballs, what were you supposed to do stare into the back of their eye sockets or that oh so common glowing light thing they had going on? No way it was creepy.

Jumping to another tree almost silently the naga just watched, up jumping was an advantage to having no tail. As was walking along branches as she was now. Her hands braced the branches above her head as she slowly walked to the edge. Creeping ever so carefully close and closer to the thin twiggy part of the branch. One step, pause, two steps, pause. This continued till she stepped on a week part and the branch broke falling just in front of the undead whatever it was. Hissing a little she pulled herself slowly onto the sad little branch above her head. It didn't look like it would hold much weight but it held her's enough for her to get the the center of the tree again and hopefully blend in. Honestly she was more like a lizard this way than a snake.

Antagonist 09-30-2011 07:52 AM

Had Velindrel still possessed eyelids, he would have blinked, when the twig dropped down in front of him. He had heard the snap and the crack before the branch fell, so he looked up, the flicker behind his nonexistent eyes searching. Most creatures left him alone, but the territorial ones might be a bit more aggressive against 'intruders' like him. At first he saw nothing but leaves and bark, but then he saw a...mass that didn't look very treelike, perched atop a branch. It looked like one of the species of Mahjuus known as Lizardmen, but Lizardmen usually didn't have any hair and had dark blue and green scales...not to mention they tended to be much more uglier.

Cocking his head to the side in slight puzzlement, Velindrel pointed his staff towards the branch, casting a Decay spell at it. Decay spells were mild and usually did not kill unless the target's life was weak, but instead was quite handy for clearing away tall grass or tangling bushes when traveling, as it caused the plantlife to curl and shrivel up, leaving the path clear. The lich wanted to force the creature - whatever it was - to show itself, yet not outright attack it until he figured out its intentions first.

Fate's Pearl 09-30-2011 07:04 PM

Jasmine watched, had he seen her? Blinking a few times she squinted to see what he was doing. feeling something small bite her ankle she looked down, ants, they loved biting the crap out of her. Damn she'd have to move. Suddenly she and probably the tree where hit by something. Gasping Jasmine became air born along with a large spider that was in her hands. A spell, had she been hit by a spell. either way she didn't like it.

A loud hiss came from Jasmine as she fell to the ground, she wasn't sure if it was because of the tree, the spell, or the rather large spider that went across her hands, but she did fall. Catching herself on a lower branch she landed on her feet. Regaining her composure she looked at the bony figure a head of her. Her fangs were out as she gave him a warning before proceeding to yell at him, well it. "What the hell?!" She started brushing off some. "Is it a normal thing for you undead people to go casting spells on people as they track down their food? What's your deal?!" She watched him carefully ready to pull her hunting knife while trying to maintain a calm body language.

Antagonist 10-01-2011 02:10 PM

((...I just realized, playing as a skeleton has its drawbacks, he wouldn't be able to speak as they don't have vocal cords...:headdesk:))

His head was still cocked to the side as he regarded the creature before him coolly. So it wasn't a Lizardman. But it wasn't like anything he'd ever seen before, either. The scales were quite pretty, and she appeared reptilian, but he couldn't discern what kind of creature she could be. Her degree of intelligence told him she definitely wasn't a Mahjuu, in any case, which would mean he should at least be able to communicate with her to some degree. Only problem? He lacked a vocal cord, and he had no idea how to write in the language of the Beastfolk. Hoping that the person before her would understand Common (the most common language amongst all the kingdoms, namely the Human's, as they're everywhere), he waved his staff and it emitted a long string of smoke, which he formed into words:

"I'm sorry, I had thought you were perhaps a Mahjuu with hostile intentions." He wrote, "If I disturbed you, I apologize. I hope you were not hurt?"

Fate's Pearl 10-01-2011 08:51 PM

((If I am to be so bold, I'd like to say that profile may need revision.))

Jasmine squinted as she read the smoke. Smirking she shook her head. "I'm no Mahjuu, I'm a Naga." She then looked herself over. "A few bumps and bruises nothing a hunter like me isn't used it. If you think that was the first time I fell out of a tree your mistaken Mr...er Ms...Mrs...Uh..Skeleton guy." She said scratching her head, another reason she hated undead its not as easy to come to a conclusions on their gender. Brushing off a little more she relaxed some. "Your not from this area, obviously, your a visitor?" She questioned quietly. Again trying to figure out if she should look at his creepy eye sockets or stair just above at his eyebrow ridge. Switching her pose to something a little more relaxed she tapped her finger on her chin indecisively. Eye sockets, eyebrows, eye sockets, eyebrows...what to chose what to chose.

(Sorry short...and I just realized you use smaller font than me, which means your writing substantially more than me. I must work on this.

I'm still wondering how they move with out tendons and ligaments...))

Antagonist 10-02-2011 06:42 AM

((I think our posts are pretty much the same length, since I use two Indents which means I have less words in one line than yours would have.

Haha, indeed. :XD That's another thing I wonder about...er...just...pretend they're connected due to whatever dark magics that's allowing nothing bones to move?))

Had he still had muscles and a vocal cord, Velindrel would have laughed. The Naga was certainly an interesting person. "I was a he." He wrote, "I am currently on a sight-seeing trip of the world, as I had not had the chance to when I was alive." It was unusual that someone of the living was so...accepting of his race, since they were usually wary around the not-living. Though he couldn't quite blame them, as the natural-born undeads (the ones that were naturally 'born' from exposure to Darkness and thus have no memory of their past lives) were quite violent in nature. "The name's Velindrel, pleasure to make your acquaintance, Ms. Naga. If I may be so bold as to ask, I thought the Naga species usually do not have feet?" It was mostly because of the young woman's bipedalism that he had not immediately recognized her species. He wondered if she was biracial, a combination of Naga and something else that was biped.

Fate's Pearl 10-02-2011 10:05 PM

Jasmine blinked her eyes. "You were a he...does that mean you aren't anymore?" She asked shrugging she just continued to read. "Sight-seeing....interesting out of curiosity what do you do to keep your energy up Mr. Undead? Do you eat...um...do you have a stomach?" Some of her scales raised as if she was raising an eyebrow. "Its nice to meet you Was a Mr. Velindrel. I'm called Jasmine, like the flower." Looking down at her feet Jasmine wiggled her toes. "Um...well somewhere down my family line my family mixed with humans. Trust me I have NO idea how that one worked out. But apparently it did. Most Naga have tails, big boa like tails and constrict their food and it can be groosem to watch. My family and eh, I'd estimate one or two other families, got feet and had to take on more human like hunting skills." She stated simply. "One bonus...we can dance and walk, run, and we don't wiggle when we try and go somewhere." Grinning her snake like grin she struck a temporary pose before going back to normal. Jasmine was a spunky girl and this was her usual behavior. "We are also much harder to piss off, unlike those moody tail holding Naga. Anyway doubt you walked all this way to listen to some random footed Naga rant."

Stretching some she blinked a few times. "So were you human at some point or a different race, if I am to be so bold." She stated. "Is it more appropriate to look at your eye sockets or your eyebrow ridge or can you tell? Can you see with out eyeballs how does that work?" She asked it was like a child once she wanted to know something she just asked careless to whether it would offend him or not. "Can you feel? How do you move...do you have a brain or just collection of knowledge???"

Antagonist 10-03-2011 02:20 AM

The light behind Velindrel's eyes flickered in amusement. It seemed that he had run across a curious one this time. "Whoa, slow down...I can only answer so much at a time, or the smoke will get confusing." Now that he thought about it, he really should get started on that pet project of his to 'create a voice' for skeletons like him...though most voiceless undeads wouldn't really care about that stuff, since they rarely had the need to communicate with other species other than their own. "Pleasure to meet you, by the way, Jasmine. To answer your first question, I was a he before I died. I still refer to myself as a male, but since there's nothing but calcium on me now, I suppose I'm physically androgynous." He waited a few moments for the smoke to clear before he continued.

"And yes, I do need to eat, though my nutrients do not come from physical food sources such as plants and animals. Instead, I absorb energies such as essences of Darkness or the life energies from other creatures to survive. But the amount I take is minimal, so it does not affect others unless they're within extreme close proximity to me twenty four hours a day, seven days a week." He wrote from top to bottom, as dissipating smoke usually curled upwards, and that way they wouldn't clash as badly with the words at the bottom. "It is interesting for me to be able to learn about the other races of the world, so your words are quite welcome. I had not been aware that breeding between Humans and Beastfolk was possible, for instance."

"The flickering light you see in my skull is the light of my soul. With it, we can see out into the world, though they work just as eyes do, and cannot see out of the back of our heads." Unless one was a wraith, then in which case they'd be able to see in every direction due to their complete lack of a physical form. "I am aware when others come in contact with me, though I would not be able to feel pain or numbness. We move by using the energy gathered as I've mentioned before, it holds us together so that we do not fall apart like common corpses. If a corpse is left in exposure to too much Dark element, there would be a high chance of it becoming an Undead, though whether or not it will retain its past life's memories are purely by chance."

While most might be put off from all the questions the Naga was asking, Velindrel was actually quite happy about it. If he could spread the word out that not all Undead were violent, blood-thirsty monsters, even if the process was slow, it would help make his life that much easier later on. Besides, he had all the time in the world to wait. Undeads are quite known for their hard-to-killness, after all. "I apologize for disturbing your hunt earlier, if you'll allow me to make it up for you, I have a spell that can track down the nearest sizable life form, excluding you, of course."

Fate's Pearl 10-03-2011 03:30 PM

The naga read intently thinking and only looking curious once or twice. "Oh we didn't know beastfolk and humans could interbreed. In fact we blame science, we don't believe it happened the way our 'ancestors say it did but you know, no one knows these days." Rubbing her head simply she thought. "In fact not even one other case of a pure Beastfolk and human interbreeding has been reported since." Thinking she tapped her head which lead her to the next question. "Can you take off your head?" She asked. "And then put it back on like if you wanted to see what was higher or something?" She questioned. "And with that can something else take off with your head and leave your body in a confused stagger?" Jasmine asked before thinking about the end question. "Oh, no its ok. If I let magic do my job for me I'd be a disgrace." Then she looked at the ground. "You know a point in the right direction isn't strictly forbidden though." She said with a half nervous laugh. Truth be told she was starving and had been chasing the more intelligent animals down all day, and quiet frankly was sick and tired of finding them right before they moved. Did she mention she was hungry?

The Naga's stomach grumbled as she quickly wrapped an arm around it. "OK anyway feel free to tag along, I'm not the type to be rude but when one needs food, one needs food. Its not really an option, ya know?" She ran forward scaling a near by tree like a squirrel or lizard might. She looked around from this new perch to see what she could see. Her inner eyelid blinked and her vision changed to that of a snake. The heat signatures of the animals around her let her find them, even with the most clever camouflage. "Hey did you know there were bears in this part of the forest?" Jasmine asked walking forward on the tree. In all honesty she'd never come across a bear in this part of this forest. Shrugging she hopped out of the tree and looked around the ground. "So any questions for me?" She asked pulling an arrow out and shooting it at the base of a tree. "Gotcha!" Walking over happily she pulled up a wounded rabbit. It was no bear but it would shut her stomach up. "Are you hungry?" She asked politely.

Antagonist 10-04-2011 02:40 PM

((Really sorry about this but I might not be RPing in a while. My dad is in the hospital and requires an operation, so I'm afraid I am in no mood to be RPing. I'm not sure how long it will take for him to recover, and until then I don't think I can RP. :())

Fate's Pearl 10-04-2011 10:20 PM

(aww I hope he is ok and has an easy recovery! Take your time and do what you need to do! :) ))

Antagonist 10-27-2011 07:32 AM

Velindrel snorted. (although one could barely hear it, not having a vocal cord to rattle against) "While it would be convenient to be able to take off the head, no, it's not possible. While it wouldn't kill us, we wouldn't be able to move anything aside from the head either, since those of us who have physical bodies must be connected in order to move. ...Speaking of which, I don't believe wraiths can separate themselves into many bits and move independently either..." His jaw moved silently while he muttered about pieces of wraiths floating around...that was a mental image he could do without.

He politely declined the offer of rabbit, motioning to his rather...empty...torso region, beneath the cloak. ("Nowhere to put the food, see.") Thinking for a few moments, he continued. "Well...I suppose it would be nice to have a guide to show me around the place. This is my first time in Ahg'shav, it is all very new to me here."

Fate's Pearl 11-02-2011 11:05 PM

Jasmine nodded softly and laughed a little. "I suppose that would make since. Though I think a bunch of floating heads would be a lot less intimidating than an full scale, undead persons. No offense, I mean your not freaky or anything but some of your pals can be. Not, that I'm implying that your friends with them. Ugh, never mind." She said shaking her head before squishing the fur ball in her hands; rabbit's bones cracked and popped from the pressure. The naga female simply grinned. "Okie dokie bunny." Her voice soft before her jaw popped and stuck the rabbits head in her mouth wiggling her mouth a little she stuffed the rabbit down her throat before fixing her jaw.

Blushing slightly she whipped the extra fur off her face. "Sorry eating can be slightly unsightly." She said with a slight laugh and a little bit of an after hiss before her fangs disappeared back into her head. "Ok so what do you want to see here?" Her voice back to normal and her physical appearance totally back to its original form. Jasmine knew this forest pretty damn well, hopefully she wouldn't get everything backwards while showing Velindrel around.
