Niamh shook her head. "No, I'm asking your opinion about Cupid in particular. And no, my mother isn't going to like you, she wants me to date a nice follower of Apollo. And no you are not going to give me money. Finally, I don't want...uh oh." She stopped as she felt a flux in power. "Uh...Damon...will you promise me not to kill my family?" Looking over, she sighed as Hermes materialized in her living room. "Hello, Grandfather. Could you please call first please?"

”You’re mother wants you to date a follower of Apollo?” Damon couldn’t help it he started to laugh at that, seriously the mother thought Apollo was nice? Apollo was a moronic, self absorbed, big head, who only cared about his own pleasures and his followers weren’t any better. After he calmed down he answered her question, taking a deep breath he controlled himself. ”Cupid didn’t have a hand in binding me so honestly he doesn’t bother me so much actually me and him got along until his mother found out than I wasn’t allowed to see him” he shrugged and leaned back against the couch eyes half closed as he watched Hermes materialize in the center of the room. Hermes hadn’t had a hand in the imprisonment of him, but he hadn’t stopped it either and it was said Damon would bring about the death of the gods, and Hermes was a god. He was safe for now only because he was Nimph’s grandfather and because Damon’s power wasn’t fully restored yet. ”Yes hello Hermes how nice it is too see you again”

Niamh glared at Damon with a look that said we'll address that later. "Are you alright, Niamh? Damon, you look well." Hermes asked looking between the two. "Yes, I'm fine. Is there a specific reason you're here?" She asked trying to maintain her cool. "I was worried about you after the earthquake and you haven't been coming to the temple either."

"There's a reason for that." She said coldly. "You knew what Ares wanted and didn't try to stop him." Hermes flinched. "I couldn't stop him. You know that. But, I won't tell them where Damon is and I promise to do my best to protect you from the coming storm." Niamh nodded as her grandfather kissed her forehead. "I love you, grandfather. Be safe." Hermes turned to Damon. "Take care of her, Damon. She is all I have left. Her father refuses to see me and I need her. I am not the same god I was eleven thousand years ago." With that he vanished.

Damon rolled his eyes somehow he highly doubted that, it took a lot for a god to change, but then maybe Hermes spoke the truth. He did act different, not the same old arrogant god he remembered. [b]”Just met the chick last night, but since she is my new priestess yes I’m going to watch over her. ”Wonder if he knows that Ares already knows I’m staying with you. Which leads me to my next question what exactly did Ares do to you that Hermes didn’t stop?” Or couldn’t stop or whatever?” this girl was a lot more connected to the gods then he had previously thought, maybe she wouldn’t be adverse to helping him or at the very least telling him what the gods had been up to in the last few thousand years.

Niamh sat down and sighed. "That was exhausting. Hermes couldn't prevent Ares from pursuing me, due to my unique nature of three-quarters human and only a quarter god. Ares wanted me to bear him children, something I refused to do, which is why he left me." She closed her eyes and sighed. "Where's my phone?" She said suddenly. "Cupid owes me money." It was a lame attempt to change the subject, but it worked. Standing up, she reached into his jacket from the night before. "Here it is." She punched in a few numbers and tapped her fingers impatiently as she waited for him to pick up. "You owe me money and I'm calling it in. Part of it, not all of it. Great. Can we meet at the coffee shop? No, my place isn't the greatest right now. Long story." Something he said made her laugh. "Ok I'll let him know. Okay bye." Hanging up, she laughed and shook her head.

”Any human can bear children of the gods it’s why we have demi-gods so I’m pretty sure there’s more to it that you’re not tell me but I won’t pry for now” Damon was still a little hungry but didn’t bother to get up instead he summoned a banana from the kitchen it was actually funny to see a banana floating across the room but Nimph was busy on the phone so didn’t see it. Why wouldn’t she just take the money from him? Must be a pride thing, some beings really had way to much pride. His mind drifted back to Nimph’s and Ares relationship Ares wanted her for a reason and he didn’t think the reason she gave was the true reason.

Niamh shook her head and laughed one last time. "Damon, I have to go meet Cupid. Do you want to come with?" She asked with a big smile. Cupid always made her laugh and seeing Damon eating a banana was just making her day even better. She was glad that Damon wasn't going to pry. Without realizing that her thoughts were drifting, Niamh thought. I still remember the time when Cupid took me to the Eiffel Tower to make me feel better after Ares left..." Looking at the picture, she smiled and sighed. "I'm going to go get dressed."

”Yeah I would love to come I haven’t seen Cupid in the longest time, me and him used to go carousing together back in the time before I was locked away in a temple to sleep for eleven thousand years. Well okay a little before that considering his mother hated me and stopped letting us hang out once she found out about us but what can you do” he shrugged throwing the banana peel away without moving from his spot, it flew across the room into the kitchen and threw itself away. ”Alright so where do we meet Cupid anyway?” he asked as she started to walk away.

Niamh came out of her room dressed in a nice black dress with little red flowers all over it. "At the coffee shop across the street." She said running a brush through her hair and putting on a little lip gloss. Looking at herself in a full length mirror she nodded with a smile. "Let's go."

”Alright then” taking her by the arm he flashed them right in front of the coffee shop, it was so early in the morning that no humans were really out and about yet and the ones that were, were buried behind their newspapers more interested in the news of the day than a random man that had appeared in the middle of the street out of nowhere. ”Is he already here or do we have to wait for him?” but even as he said those words he recognized the familiar form of Cupid through the window. A man he hadn’t seen in good long time, it would be rather nice to catch up.

Niamh smiled and waved at Cupid. His golden hair was brushed stylishly and most of the waitresses in the coffee shop stared longingly at him. Niamh led the way inside and hugged Cupid. "You look great." Cupid laughed and shrugged. "Being the god of lust has that perk. Long time no see Damon. How did you...oh I see, you won't accept my marriage proposal, but you'll shack up with him?" He said teasingly as he extended his hand to Damon without taking the other arm from around Niamh's waist.

Damon took his hand and gave it a good shake a true smile on his face as he met up with his first real friend from back in the day. He didn’t know where they stood now but he hoped they could pick up where they had left off. ”Still a womanizer I see, Nimph you did the right thing in turning this scoundrel down, if you married him you wouldn’t be allowed to have any fun with me” he winked at her and laughed. ”Not to mention the fact that he would still be chasing tail, the god of lust is never satisfied with just one woman or at least he never was back in the good old days when drinking your weight in alcohol and sleeping around was pretty acceptable.”

Cupid laughed and motioned for them all to sit down. His laugh made several of the women shiver. "Not why she turned me down, Damon, but nice guess. Besides what do you have that I don't? I even have the 'I hate my mother' vibe going now." The waitress primped herself before coming to their table where she couldn't decide whether to make go-go eyes at Damon or Cupid. "I would like a Cappuccino and a piece of coffee cake." Niamh said with a friendly smile. The waitress ignored her for the two men.

”Other than this dark bad ass punk thing going, while you on the other hand have the face of an angel and a I love mommy vibe. Or at least you did back then what happened that you hate her now?” he asked nodding at the waitress who seemed to be at a loss for words, she ignored Nimph entirely in favor of the two guys, he wasn’t surprised that happened often Cupid as the god of lust could even get straight guys to give him a second look. ”Actually that sounds good I think I’ll have the same as she is”

Niamh repeated her order and excused herself from the table. Cupid smiled at her as she left and nodded that he would have the same. "She did." He nodded after her. "Mother sided with Ares in the debate. I sided with Hera in Niamh's favor." The coffee arrived and he took a sip from the steaming cup managing not to get any foam on his lips. "Mother doesn't take too kindly to being told no."

”Hera was on Nimph’s side? That’s a surprise she always seemed rather selfish to me, but then what do I know haven’t been to Olympus in a long time” he pushed his coffee away pulling the plate closer, surprisingly the god of destruction had a sweet tooth. ”So do you like her or are you guys just friends?... Oh and if I might ask what was the whole deal between her and Ares I mean she told me but I have a feeling there’s more to it and I’d like to hear it from you” he sipped his coffee foam coating his upper lip that he quickly wiped away while somehow still looking cool.

Cupid looked up surprised from his coffee. "She told you that she is the only surviving descendant of the Sybil and the sorceress Circe, who held Odysseus?" He placed the cup into its saucer and shook his head. "Ares found out and convinced her he loved her. The fact of the matter is any child she bears to a god would be a full god, not a demi-god. Niamh's mother was one of Hera's priestesses, before she got married. Niamh wasn't supposed to find out, but she did." The god looked up at Damon and smiled, then looked outside to where Niamh was standing chatting with a neighbor and sighed.

”Well that explains a lot, she did say Ares was after her originally because she could bear him a child. I said any human could bear a gods child though it would be only a demi-god. But if Ares was really looking for a child he has his pick of the beautiful goddesses up on mount Olympus” he set his fork down with a clatter on the small plate finished with his slice of coffee cake. Now the Hera thing made sense if Nimph’s mother had been her priestess than she felt a certain amount of loyalty to the chick, or at least to her mother. ”This is one part human that is full of surprises is she not” he went silent sipping his coffee. ”Cupid you know what I plan on doing don’t you? The gods aren’t safe. I’m willing to spare the few that decide to join me under a new Parthenon….Not the ones who trapped me, oh no those ones are sentenced for a swift and deadly justice. Now I need to know are you in or are you out?”

Cupid nodded. "I'm in." Niamh came back in and sat down. "Sorry about that. What did I miss?" She asked taking a sip of her coffee. "Cupid, I'm in serious need to call in one of the favors you owe me. People are not tipping well at the Crypt." Cupid sighed. "Why me? Fine, will a grand cover it?" Niamh nodded and laughed. "You don't actually expect me to answer why you do you?" Looking over, she scooted her plate of coffee cake towards Damon. Cupid watched and smiled slightly.

”You know the way he gets his money is the same way I do, though over time Gods get bored so he obviously invested some cash and no doubt he’s rolling in millions so a small thousand shouldn’t even make him raise an eyebrow” Damon chuckled at Cupid’s mock outrage. ”I’ll discuss it more with you later” he projected into Cupid’s mind other than a small nod Cupid gave no sign that he heard him, Damon picked up his fork and took a bite of the cake Nimph so generously gave him. ”Why thank you my lady, I do love my sweets” Cupid laughed and leaned over to whisper in Nimph’s ear. ”Lock up you’re sweets Nimph this boy’s sweet tooth is legendary, why do you think that candy and cake is a gift to him?” Damon took a swipe at him with his fork that Cupid easily dodged. ”Hardy har har, I got the check you too no worries” he said as the waitress came up to them clutching the check in a small hand.

Niamh laughed and Cupid smirked at the waitress who flushed a deep red and sighed. Coughing to cover up the laugh that burbled up in her throat, she smiled sweetly. Watching the two gods was fun and she had enjoyed every minute of her time with them. Looking at her watch, she cursed. "Son of the furies. I have to go. Darius is going to kill me...or kiss me...depending on his mood." Cupid snorted as she caught her foot on the leg of the table and started falling.
