The old wizard just kept pacing and nodded every once in a while before grunting in agreement with the King. He noticed Polaris running and he worried slightly but knew she would have it under control.

Sigurd moaned slightly barely noticing that Polaris had even appeared in the kitchen. He opened his eyes when he felt her next to him, "Ill be fine... Its just... Aaahh." he said wincing in pain as he grabbed his shoulder, he could feel the pain get slightly worse as Polaris appeared next to him but he ignored it, though since it was little compared to the original pain. "Polaris.. i,.. i dont know whats going on it hurts... i dont get it." he said looking at her as he used his back to push himself to standing. "Its just my shoulder nothing really bad, probably just wear and tear." he said lying as he smiled slightly and then winced. Under his tunic his shoulder pulsed blue, though most of the light was dimmed by the tunic and vest.

Polaris gasped lightly at Sigurd as she gently placed her hand on his shoulders. "I doubt that it is. Please just tell me what it is." she said softly as she gently laid Sigurd's head on her chest and stroked his hair. She was trying to comfort him like a human female would do. "What is it that is bothering you on your shoulder?" she asked even though she knew why, but she wanted to make sure herself, this only caused her own necklace to glow brightly as she held Sigurd closer to her.

Sigurd winced as she moved him but he smiled slightly trying to act strong, "On... on..on my shoulder?" he whispered looking up at Polaris and then down at her necklace. "Its like that.." he said moving his arm across his body and moving the vest he had on his shoulders. As soon as he moved it the spiral glow on his shoulder was evident, glowing through the light shirt he had on. "This is whats going on.. it hurts badly.. and my whole arm is tingling." he said looking at that hand and then asa pulse of pain hit him he winced into Polaris. "I dont know why, it hurts.. i just... owww." he said as it pulsed again. The spiral on his shoulder pulsed with bright blue light it was getting stronger but he couldnt understand why.

Polaris gasped lightly as saw the light shine, she shielded her eyes and the necklace glowed brightly with Sigurd's scar. Polaris's eyes widen slowly as the necklace started to static and turned her from her human form to hybrid form as the top of her head turned blonde and then bottom turned gray. Her clothes turned into a scaly gray and a striped blue and gray stomach. Polaris's eyes then turned black and red, "No! What's going on?!" she shrieked as she looked at Sigurd and released him quickly. "Don't look at me, please don't scream!" she said shaking and panicked as her tail and wings shot up and laid on the floor. This wasn't suppose to happen, what was going on? Her necklace shone lightly as the light dimmed, Polaris wanted to run away but she knew if she did, Sigurd would never trust her and that the King and Queen would kill her. Polaris buried her face in her clawed hands and cried softly, curling her tail and wings around her.

Sigurd had closed his eyes from an immense pain that shot through his arm, then he felt Polaris move and her voice resinated in his head. He looked up and fell back to the wall, "What.. Are you... Who are you?" he siad scared, he had never seen anything like this. His head was swimming with then thoughts of the thing that was killing everyone. "Are you here to eat me? if you are ill give up and you can, but promise you'll leave everyone else alone." he said bowing his head as he knelt, though he held his shoulder as his scar glowed through his fingers. "Please make it quick." he said as the static from his shoulder started to rip the arm part of his shirt, and the pain heightened.

Polaris gasped lightly as her eyes widen from sadness. She looked away as tears rolled down her cheeks, "I shouldn't have come. This was a bad idea, I'm sorry Sigurd. I'll leave...And you'll never have to see me again." she said softly as she stood up and ran to the kitchen door and turned to Sigurd. "Good-bye forever...Sigurd." Polaris said running past the old Wizard, King Martin and Queen Beatrice, "What was that?" Beatrice asked as she gasped lightly, "Was that...Polaris?" Martin asked the Wizard as he looked at him. Polaris opened her wings and flew out the window of the castle and into the stormy night as thunder and lightning start flashing and rumbling.

Sigurd sat and looked up at Polaris as she ran to the kitchen door, "Po...po..polaris?" he whispered as she ran out of the kitchen. He stood ignoring the pain and ran to the door as she ran across the dining room. He looked at the King and Queen then at Polaris as she opened her wings, "Polaris!" he shouted as she took flight and pain shot down his arm and he screamed in pain as she flew out the window. His shoulder pulsed blue as the thin layer of clothing on his arm shredded and suspended in mid air for a split second before his arm was suddenly surrounded in electricity. The electricity surrounded his whole arm arcing between his arm and the scar as he stood painfully looking at the window. He turned and ran out of the room grabbing a small pack of food, he kept in his room and a small sword he trained with, he couldnt even feel his scarred shoulder or that arm, so he only used his other arm as he ran out the servent door into town looking for any sign of Polaris, "Wait... Polaris!" he shouted running out into the streets looking for her.

The old wizard was surprised and taken aback by Polaris running from the kitchen, "Polaris.." he whispered as she took flight and he turned around to the king and queen, "That was her... she was the elemental dra...." he started to say until he saw Sigurd and his words dropped. "My god... its true." he whispered his eyes wide as he followed with his eyes Sigurd leaving. He looked at he king and queen and shook his head, "Today is turning out oddly.." he muttered.

Martin's eyes widen, "She's the Elemental Dragon?! That's impossible!!! She's too young!!" he yelled as Beatrice called for a servant, "Get the knights!! The Elemental Dragon has showed herself. Bring her back here NOW!" she yelled as two knight, Duncan and Harold, got on their horses and galloped away following Sigurd.

Polaris continued crying as she landed on the ground, due to the burden of her crying got worse and the storm became more and more violent. Polaris didn't want to harm Sigurd or have him believe that she will eat him, going under a tree, she wiped her black and red eyes as her tail curled at her sides. The large yellow dragon scales hugged her legs and prayed that Sigurd didn't find her, not knowing that there were knights coming to look for her.

Sigurd could barely see with all the of the rain pouring down and the lightning lit what little he could see, "Polaris!!!" he yelled as he looked around. He looked around when he heard the gates open and saw two knights running out on horses, Sigurd turned around and ran towards the stables where he kept his horse he raised since he was 10. As he reached the stables he grabbed the horse bareback placing his now died down arm with electricity he grabbed the mane and lead the horse out. As his horse ran as fast as it could he ushered faster barely slipping out the gate of the city before they closed. He ignored the shouts of the guards as he ran into the plane before the city, after a mile or so he stopped and looked around. "How do i find her boy? how?" he said patting the horses mane before turning randomly till he felt a pulse in his shoulder, instinct took over and he pushed for he horse to run charging across the plane to something he called the great tree. He used to play at the tree, a tree said to be as old as the world itself and it held answers to all lifes questions.

Polaris sat there at a tree, wiping her tears as best she could only failed as more came out. She was sad, Sigurd was her first human friend and she was causing him so much pain. Polaris held her arms as she curled her legs beside her as she started to shake from the rain and seem to catch a small fever. Polaris could have stopped the storm but she was too sad and depressed to stop it. She knelt forward and felt the rain on her head, back and hair.

Sigurd rode as hard as he could, the rain seemed to be getting worse and the thunder and lightning seemed to crack at every turn. He closed his eyes and hoped that he was going in the right direction, the rain was blowing so hard and it blinded him any time he tried to open his eyes. As he rode he could feel the horse's breathing and the muscles pulsing underneath him. He kept riding and then he felt the horse stop slowly as he felt a slight break in the wind and rain, he knew he was at the tree, it all felt familiar he knew the tree was around but he still couldn't open his eyes. "Polaris!" he yelled trying to hav his voice reach over the storms sounds and rumbling, "Polaris!". He needed to find her now it was her safety that was at risk now and he knew it. His shoulder pulsed lightly but the pain was gone from before, it had turned into just a dull throbbing.

Polaris gasped lightly as she heard a voice from the other side of the tree she was at. She held her arms as she slowly crawled to see who it was even though she knew who it was. It was Sigurd. Polaris cried more, she curled in a ball as her tail swayed at her feet. The tree blew a little and seem to be pointing to where Polaris was. She was refusing to be seen due to her appearance, her hybrid form which caused Sigurd great pain. Duncan and Harold had followed Sigurd to see if he knew where Polaris was and it seem like he did. They remained silent until it was right to grab them both.

Sigurd walked the horse slowly forward till he felt the slight shelter from the battering rain from the tree, "Polaris... the king an queen sent knights to get you.." he yelled still finding it hard to talk or be heard in the storm. He opened his eyes slowly as he still had to raise his hand to prevent the rain battering his eyes, He moved slowly his steps calculated as he stepped around the tree, "Polari.." he muttered till he rounded the tree and saw her. "Polaris, you need to run.. they sent knights to get you!" he said kneeling and placing his knee on her tail so it wouldn't lash around. He slowly placed a hand on her side trying to move her wings so he could see her face, "You need to hurry they cant be far away." he whispered as he slowly kept trying to pry away her wings to see her face.

Polaris gasped lightly when she felt Sigurd place his knee on her tail as she felt her wings being moved. Polaris slowly looked up to see Sigurd and heard him speak, she moved her wings a little and looked at him, "Are they really looking for me?" she asked softly as she tilted her head a little and the tears continued to fall. "I-I th-thought you would hate me like everyone else." she cried then curled up a little more as her wings started to fight against Sigurd's hold.

Sigurd smiled softly and nodded, "I wont lie i think that you could have told me and when you turned i did think you were the beast, but the beast wouldn't run itd eat instead." he said smiling extending his hand and smiling, "But yes they are after you, i saw them going some where and i came here for answers and found all that i was looking for, though i still have things to take care of back at the castle, if i can get back it." he muttered. He stood up and looked around though he knew that he still couldn't see with the storm but he smiled and tried to find his horse.

Polaris gasped lightly as she gently took Sigurd's hand. "S-So, you know what I am now?" sh said softly as she unfolded her wings and hugged him gently, "Where are they?" she asked as she moved her tail from under him and curled it behind her.

Duncan and Harold spotted Sigurd with the beast. "You know that plan." Duncan, an older man, said as he crept closer to the two. Harold, s lightly younger man, nodded and crept ed other way on horse. The plan was to sneak up on then and grab both Sigurd and Polaris then take them back to the castle.

Sigurd smiled as he felt Polaris's hand in his and then he smiled slightly wider and blushed as she hugged him, "I have to admit ive never hugged a dragon, but thats all i know is that your a dragon." he said wrapping his arms around her. "I dont know where they went, i saw them going another direction, but i dont know." he said as he shook slightly feeling the ground shake as thunder clapped and shook the very ground they stood on. "It will be ok." he said smiling, "We should go back though so that we can make sure you aren't the one killing." he sighed looking down not making eye contact.

Polaris gasped lightly and looked at Sigurd, 'He doesn't know, I'm the Elemental Dragon? Can't he tell?' she thought to herself as she lifted Sigurd's chin to look at her, "Do you know where the knights are? M-Maybe I ca-can get us back to the castle." she said softly as Polaris looked around and suddenly heard something not that far from them. Duncan and Harold jumped out from behind the bushes and held their swords up, "Come with us. The King and Queen wish to speak with the Great Elemental Dragon." Harold said as they walked closer to Sigurd and Polaris.

Sigurd smiled at polaris as she grabbed his chin and nodded, "I dont know where they are, but i can ride behind you and then..." he said being cut short by the two knights jumping out from behind the trees with swords drawn. Sigurd instinctively reached for his short sword but then looked at Polaris and relaxed his hand, "Knights, she is only a dragon... unless." he muttered the last bit looking back at Polaris and standing up a bit and taking a step back. "Polaris, your the elemental dragon?" he said looking at her astonished, this was bigger news it seemed to him then that she was a dragon at all. He had heard stories about the elemental dragon and her wrath and her power. "Ill go, if i can ride my own horse." he said not taking his eyes off Polaris, his eyes still slightly wide.

Polaris gasped lightly when the knight jumped from and demanded that they both go with them. She watched Sigurd look at her then at the knights. But soon after, Sigurd looked at her said and said that she was the elemental dragon. Polaris waited for the rejection to come but to her surprise it didn't, Sigurd looked at her but the question went straight to the knights. Polaris gasped lightly as looked back at Sigurd then looked away, "I will go back as well but I will go back with Sigurd." she said softly as she held his hand. Duncan and Harold lowered their sword and looked at the two, "Then Come along then." he said turning his horse and watched as the two walked from the Great Tree. Harold turned his horse, amazed how the Elemental Dragon was so young and beautiful. He wondered how such a creature who was rarely seen seen young and radiant.

Sigurd smiled slightly then walked Polaris to his horse patting it lightly as he looked up and had to shut his eyes again due to the storm crashing around them, "I hope you can steer us back to the castle, i dont know if i can." he said smiling and then he grabbed the mane of the horse and hopped on letting go of polaris's hand, "Um is there a way for you to be in your other form?" he said looking down at her, "Um wings dont work well while riding i think or a tail.." he said patting the horses neck and adjusting on the horses bare back. He patted the horses neck lightly as he whispered in its ear, "Ok.. there will be two on you, be careful and dont get angry, she's different." he said smiling and rubbing the horses shoulder.

Polaris nodded lightly as she turned back into her human form and sat behind Sigurd, holding onto him tightly. She smelled softly as her chest pressed against his back. She wondered what the king and queen had in store for her but she hoped that she didn't have something horrible. Duncan and Harold rode off toward the castle as Harold snuck a look at Polaris each time he got.

Sigurd smiled as he felt Polaris sit behind him and he took a deep breath urging the horse forward and riding behind the two knights. He blushed feeling Polaris's hugging him tightly as they rode, he could feel her chest and it made him blush each time the horse seemed to jump. "Im sorry Polaris, i didn't mean to lead them to you, i really didn't im sorry." he said as they approached the gates and they swung open as guards lined the road to guide them into the city to discourage escape.

Polaris smiled softly at Sigurd as they went back to the castle. "It's ok, I don't blame you." she said softly as she tightened her grip a little and smiled softly at the boy. 'I just hope the others are as understanding as you.' she thought to herself as she laid her head on Sigurd's shoulder.

Sigurd smiled and then he blushed slightly as he felt her hold him tighter, "It's ok, lets just hope no one over reacts and i need to get you out." he said smiling. He slowly walked the horse up and into the city, he saw the city peering out of their windows and whispering to each other. "If we get out of this... i promise ill hear you out on what is going on and why you came here." he said sighing as he lead the horse to the castle. He looked up and flinched away from the stares and glares of the King and Queen, and even the Wizard who looked astonished.
