Kan stoked the fire as the sun finished setting. "I think you are. I think Lilith gave you her power." he said softly. Seeing Lilly yawn made him even more tired. "Lets eat then I'll make us a place to sleep." he said with a smile. He finished cooking and ate a little bit of the food. He then gathered a few fluffy leaves and some wood, and crafted two beds. "I think we are meant to be each others keeper." he said with a smile.

the food was warm and good and made Lilly even more sleepie. 'this is wonderful, Kan.' 'thank you for making us dinner.' Lilly was so happy and contented that she never even noticed Kan making their beds. 'it's been such a strange day.' 'i feel like i should be much sadder than i am, but i feel like we have just started on a very exciting adventure.' 'i'm glad Lilith managed to put us together.' 'i hope i learn to be as wise as she is and never let you down.' Lilly hugs Kan and settles into her comfy bed. 'good night, Kan, sweet, happy dreams.' |
Kan smiled as she finished her food. In some weird way he still felt hole, even though Lilith was no longer with him. "Oh your welcome." he said zoning out for just a moment. "Yeah I know what you mean." he said softly to the sadness part. He watched as she laid down. "In do time you will be wise like her, maybe even more so, good night sleep tight." he said softly. as he watched her fall asleep. It was a while later after cleaning everything up and bathing that he to went to sleep. He awoke early the next morning to start the day. He stretched, and got out of the bed. He then started the fire again. He looked around and felt that something was out of place.

Lilly got up suprisingly early. she hadn't helped with anything. so she thought it would be a good thing to look for breakfast. Lilly found a little brook and realized she hadn't even washed her hands or face before falling into a very deep sleep. washing up and then looking for breakfast made Lilly feel somewhat comfortable, like she was where she belonged. Lilly found some berries and started to go back to Kan. only thing is, which way was Kan? |
Kan looked about as he got a bit worried. "Lilly." he cried out. He ran into the forest looking for her. "Lilly!!" he yelled out. "We got to go." he said. "Lilly..." he couldn't find her. His heart sank as his heart began to race. "Lilly..." he said softly. He clammed his nerves and fallowed the water, and to his surprise a little ways down stream he found Lilly. "Lilly..." he said as he ran to her and softly pulled her to himself. "I thought I lost you." he said softly, as he looked deep into her eyes. "Don't scare me like that. He gently pulled her into a hug and she could hear his heart racing. He drew in a deep breath. "We must go.. The shadows are coming." he said.

just as Lilly started to worry she heard Kan in the distance calling her name. his voice sounded alarmed. she had intended to surprise him with breakfast and not worry him. as Kan reached Lilly she could see he was worried about much more than her wandering off. 'you'll never lose me, Kan.' 'who/what are the shadows?' gathering her things and tossing the berries into her rucksack, Lilly was ready to follow Kan in no time. 'i'm ready, which way should we go?' |
The shadows, are the men and woman who have lost there souls, they gather once a year... They destroy all the living things in this area. Everything flees to the mountains where the shadows can not go." he said softly. He looked to the dark that was closing in on them. "We must hurry." he said as he gently took her by the hand and lead her to the mountain path. "The shadows don't go up the mountain because if they do there bodies burst into flames." he said. "For the light of the world is atop the mountain and the shadows can't stand the light." he lead her closer to the path. "I will fight them till your safe."
he said as he with drew his bow. "Please hurry." He said as he softly kissed her cheek. "I couldn't bare to lose you." he said softly. |
'i can't stay and help?' fear suddenly replaced her safe feelings. 'promise me you will come as soon as possible.' she was torn to listen to Kan or stay and help as best she could. the urgency in Kan's voice made Lilly decide to run as fast as she could up the mountain path. she was breathing rapidly and thinking as hard as she could to let Kan know she was safe and for him to follow. Lilly would not let herself think of being apart from Kan any longer than absolutely necessary. 'Lilith please don't let me be the reason Kan is in danger.' she sat in the sunlight and felt the warmth on her face. Kan's kiss was the only thing warmer that she could remember. Lilly scowered the horizon. 'please Kan, hurry.' |
Kan watched as she followed the path, "ill be fine I promise I'll be with you soon" he said as he turned back to then shadows. All he knew was that he had to keep here safe, or he would end up becoming like the shadows. Without Lilly he would be and empty soul. Kan watched as then redof then shadows eyes appered. He began shooting them down one by one, and when they got closer he grabbed his sword. Kan faught till he now longer could. It was then he ran for them path as he did one of the shadows grabbed his should digging into his fleash. Kan cried out in pain but keep going. He didnt stop till he was at them base of them mounting where he clapped in pain, but he knewhe was now safe.

Lilly saw Kan running towards her. she let out a sigh of relief. but as she got closer to him she saw a darkness clawing at him. 'KAN!', Lilly yelled. 'DUCK!' as she yelled he callapsed to the ground. Lilly felt hot and her head started swirling. she felt her hands become almost unbearabley hot. and out of nowhere she threw her first fireball. 'watch out, Kan!' this thing was not very well made or sent, but it hit the shadowie figure and it burst into flames. Lilly was overwhelmed with feelings, the greatest of which was relief that Kan was here and safe with her. Lilly reached Kan and saw his wounds. 'at least i didn't do any of this.' Lilly reached into her bag to pull out some suaves. 'i sure wish i had healing powers instead of fireballs!' 'did you see me?' she asked with a little excitement. |
Kan smiled up at here "you did great." He said. The pain ran threw his body from the wound he resived earlier. "healing won't help this wound." He said softly. Kan reached up and touched here soft warm cheak. "web have to find the fire plant it's the only things to help with this. Web must got to them top of the mounting." He said. He got up from them ground, but shortly found himself back to it. He looked up at her. "we must hurry. He said.

Lilly helped Kan up and started the long trek up the mountin. 'we'll get there shortly, Kan, please just hold on.' |
Kan smiled at her. "sorry for doing this to you." He said.Kan looked to Lily as he found it hard to move. The pain was almost unbearable. All that keep him from crying oUt was the thought of Lilly and how she might worry. He forced a smile on his face. "thank you." He said. the pain got worse as they got closer to the top. Kan begune running a high fever as the cuts in his shoulder began truning black. He cried out in pain. "I can't go..." He said. Khan now had bright red rings around his eyes. "please leave me."

'tell me what to bring you, Kan.' 'i'll hurry and be back as soon as i can.' Lilly said with all the courage she could mustard. 'i will not let you down, i promise.' Lilly kissed his forhead and waited for his instructions. |
Kan looked up to her. "Look." he said as he pointed to an White flower. "It looks like that, but is red with the outer pedals being orange." he said trying to fight back the pain. "Its dangerous. you don't have to do this." he said looking into her eyes. He gently touches her cheek.

'i'll be right back, i promise.' 'please just rest and conserve your energy.' Lilly ran all the way and found the wonderful life saving flowers. she picked as many as she could knowing it was Kan's life she was saving. 'Lilith please help me.' Lilly heard a faint whisper, she couldn't really hear what was being said. she listened and held her breath. 'hurry, Lilly, Kan needs you desperately.' Lilly didn't know if Lillith was there with her, in her head or in her heart. she felt Lilith's strength and devotion to Kan and knew she would never let him down. rushing down the mountain, stumbling, but never falling Lilly managed to get to Kan just in the nick of time. 'tell me what to do, quickly!' Lilly almost yelled to Kan. 'i'm here to take care of you.' Lilly said with all the love Lilith and she held for him. |
He pulled a few weeds out of the ground and when they touched him they turned into a bowl. He then handed the bowl over to Lilly. "Take a stick and growned the flowers in there. Get the water form the spring." He pointed to the hot spring a few steps away. His skin was now a pasty white, and the red ring were a flaming red now. His blue eyes were surrounded by red, and his skin was as hot as the fire. The black claw marks were not blister, and and a snot green.

Lilly did as Kan instructed. she worked as fast as she could. 'is this working or have i failed you?' Lilly asked, hoping for the best. he was buring up and she feared she had let Lilith down. 'please, work!' |
Kan felt her put the warm liquid to his lips, it slowly ran down his throat. He at fist coughed it up, but when she tried the second time it worked. "Thank you." he said as he closed his eyes. He was still burning up, the the marks on his shoulder didn't look as bad. He fell into a sleep state. he held her hand close to his heart. Witch now was beating normal. He awoke in a dream world. He looked about for a moment, and to his surprise Lilith was there. "Don't go into the light." she said to him directly. She looked to him and gently touched his cheek. "I miss you, but Lilly is taking good care of you." she said as she withdrew her hand. "You are to take care of her." she said softly looking away. "I was the keeper of you both, but she was born to late, you two were meant to be." she said softly.

Lilly was panicing as Kan spit the healing liquid out. she was afraid she would run out before he could drink the warm fluids. she tried to feed Kan again, and to her relief he drank it. she breathed a sigh of relief. Lilly whispered to Lilith, 'thank you for watching over us.' 'Kan.' Lilly spoke as softly as she could. 'can you hear me?' Kan's breathing seemed to resume to it's normal pace. Lilly realized he had fallen asleep and seemed very peaceful. she stroked his hair and wiped his brow. 'rest, dear Kan, i'll watch over you.' |
Kan looked to Lilith "What do you mean?" he asked. She smiled and walked into the forest. "You two were made for each other." she said softly. As soon as Lilith walked into the woods she was gone, and Kan was let to himself. He looked about for any sign of life to no avail. He then walk threw the forest a bit. He felt lost in this forest, never had he felt so lost. The trees normal talked to him, but these trees were silent. "i need to find a way out." he said to himself. He followed the lit path and found himself back home in Lilly's arms. "How long was I out?" he asked her.

'just long enough for your body to recover and heal itself, Kan.' 'shhhh, don't worry, just rest for now.' Lilly rocked and held Kan, strocking his hair. she was so grateful he seem coherant and stronger than before. Lilly hummed a soothing song. she had no idea where she knew it from, but it comforted her and seemed to put Kan back to sleep. Lilly thought of LIlith and how she seemed t guide her today. she looked up into the sky and whispered, 'thank you Lilith for helping me keep Kan safe.' Lilly couldn't wait to talk with Kan when he awoke, she was so excited and even a little frightened about how she 'knew' how to throw fire! |
Kan looked at here and smiled. He gently ran a hand threw here hair. He slowly drifted to sleep.m. In his dreams he saw lilly, and a spirit hung around her. kan watch as lilly watched over him, he walked over to them spirit. "who are you and why are you hovering over her like that?" He asked them spirit. Thespirit looked to him. "I'm the spirit of the mountin." She said in an airy voice. "you have a spirit as well." She said. "oh..." Was all he could manage to say. He woke up in Lilly's arm. "hI" looking up at her.

Lilly was starting to worry about how long Kan was sleeping. just as she was debating to go get some food for him, Kan's eyes opened and she heard him say 'hi.' 'well hello to you.' Lilly remembered the fruit and berries she had been gathering, was it only this morning? 'i still have the fruit and berries from this morning, do you think you want to try to eat something?' she asked with a loving tone. |
Kan smiled as he slowly got up from her lap, he held her hands, and looked into her eyes. "It would be lovly." he said with a smile. "why don't you start the fire with your new power." he said as he gently let go of her hands. "It was quite amazing how you control yourself back there. I remember the first time my powers were given to me. I made a huge Ivy plant pick of out house in my sleep. I hand no control what so ever." he said as he let out a small chuckle. He then stood to his feet. "I'm going to find us some meat." he said softly.
