Gemini nodded."I hate hospitals.I'm well enough to be gone from here and I have something I need to do anyway." She said distractedly.once he was ready, she led him out of the room and out of the hospital.once outside, she took a deep breath, as if she had been holding her breath previously."I need to go to the castle one last time, to pay my respects.but first, I want to go to the clearing where we first met.I feel like there's some important clue there that I should see..."

Gemini smiled at the reunion.it was really sweet, she thought."I...I don't want to rule.I never did.I'll figure something out." She said thoughtfully.eventually, they came to the clearing where they had first met.Gemini looked around, frowning, and spotted it."there.the path I took when I left that night.I started along it and..." she trailed off, following the path."yes, exactly like that nightmare! I walked along here, and right about here I heard footsteps.at first I thought it was you..."
"Ethan? Is that you?" Gemini called, her tiny hands shaking.when no one answered, she shrugged and kept walking.it was dark out now, and mommy would be wondering where she was.she heard footsteps again, and spun around.nobody.scared now, she sped up her pace.hearing footsteps behind her, she started to run, terrified.the footsteps chased her.she ran faster, trying to scream but gasping for breath...
"That's where my nightmare starts." She said explaining her flashback.by now they had reached the small pond from her nightmare."after I passed out, I don't remember anything.when I woke up I was back home, and my father insisted it was all a dream.he said I had fallen asleep out in the woods and when they came to find me, I panicked and ran.he said I almost drowned, and that he saved me.I believed him.after that I had nightmares, and I remembered the truth.so he had mother erase my memories of that time.or, most of them.until it was all just a vague dream that I could barely remember.with mother gone, the amnesia must be wearing off.but...something is wrong.I feel like there was something else that happened, before I fell in the water." She paused, trying to remember."mens voices...fighting, shouting...swords clashing...my father, yelling for me to run..." she gasped and stopped."it's all a blur from there.but...something happened to my father that night, something bad.and I'm going to find out what.the next stop is the castle.the dungeons.father was down there alot after that night..." she turned to Ethan, eyes blazing."let's go.I have to figure this out." She said, determined.

It wasn't a long walk, and within ten minutes they were walking into the castle.Gemini led them in a twisting path and down a long flight of stairs ending in a large wooden door.there was a guard, who nearly dropped his spear upon seeing Gemini.clearly, he had thought her dead."m-m-miss Gemini! What are you doing here? I-i mean, what business does her highness have in the dungeons?" The man asked.Gemini felt bad for him- he was young and fairly new at his job.she smiled kindly."my friend and I wish to inspect the prisoners." She told him."I have reason to believe that there might be someone there with answers to many of my questions." She said.one would be amazed at how she could change from innocent girl to calm and in charge princess so easily.the guard nodded and opened the door, and Gemini walked into the dungeon.it was a vast space made entirely of stone, with large cells lining the walls.Gemini started along one row and, to her surprise, a frail sounding voice called her name.startled, Gemini looked at Ethan for reassurance."am I crazy, or did someone down here just call me?"

Gemini nodded,and started towards the cell where Skylar was hovering.as she approached, the person inside stirred."oh! um,sir...? are you ok?" she asked.the man was thin and haggard, wearing rags that must once have been beautiful clothing.his beard was long and white,stained gray by dirt and age.his eyes,however,were clear and young,and the same color green as Gemini's."Gemini.as i live and breathe! i cant believe you're here.how are you,child? i never thought he'd let me see you again." the man sounded relieved,like he was about to cry.Gemini paused,confused."er...do i...do i know you...?" she asked hesitantly.the man's face turned sad."oh,Gemini.you really dont recognize...? has it really been that long? it's me,Gemini,your father." Gemini stubled backwards toward Ethan,suddenly feeling dizzy."m-my f-father? that's impossible.he's dead.he died just yesterday.prove to me that what you say is true!" she demanded.the man looked her in the eye."you were born on Halloween,under a full moon.your full name is Gemini Rosemary Kazane Starr,and you were born with a heart condition that left you very weak.your mother almost died while delivering you.just when we thought we had lost you both,the moon shone a brilliant sapphire color,and as it's beams rested on you,you and your mother became well.you started crying then,and your mother did as well.and i declared that my child would have the best life possible.it was discovered later that you had the sight-you could see magic and understand it.we worried that you would be an outcast,but you were able to hide your ability and you got on well with other children.you always had a love for the forest,and you were forever running off to find adventure there.one day you met a young demon boy about your age.you talked and played all day,and when you went to go home,someone chased you.you tripped and fell,and that's when i got there.i yelled for you to run as i fought him,but you got lost and ran straight into a lake.i was captured and framed as an imposter,and he brought you home,claiming to be me.and you must have believed him,because you dont recognize me now-" Gemini held up her hand."stop." she gasped."stop.i believe you.and now i understand why my father changed so much after that day- because it wasnt you.but who was he? he looked like you.he even fooled mother." she said."he was your uncle,my twin brother.he was younger,and always jealous that i became king instead of him.he was jealous that your mother chose me.and he was terribly jealous that his wife died in childbirth,with his son,while you lived.he followed you that day and attacked with the intention of killing you.he knew that your mother would never have another child,and he wanted me to suffer.when i showed up to defend you,he got the idea that taking my identity,and therefore my life,would be even better revenge.he overpowered me and knocked me out.when i woke up i was in here,and they were treating me like an imposter.he told them i was him.they believed him.he took over,and he told me that if i behaved he would let me see you one day.so i behaved myself.but now you say he's dead-what happened?" the king asked.Gemini explained everything that had happened since his imprisonment,and his face became sadder as she spoke."i came here looking for answers.i didnt realize that this was what i would get." she finished.her fathar shook his head.so my wife is dead by his hand.and he is dead as well.but you are alive,thanks to your friend here.this being the case,i give you both my blessing.i can see that you are happy together.but i will ask one thing of you.can you get me out of here?" he asked.Gemini laughed and nodded,and called for the guard.

after talking to the guards and her father,Gemini got everything cleared up.by the end of the hour,the king was back on the throne."Gemini,are you sure you dont want to stay here?" he asked.Gemini shook her head."no,father.i like the house where Ethan lives.i was never cut out to rule.but i promise i'll come and visit all the time." she said.the king smiled."all right,then.whatever makes you happy.now,if the two of you get married,and if i ever get grandchildren...." he chuckled at Gemini's red face."father! dont worry,you'll be the first to know.and maybe,when it's time,someday,i'll be ready to be the queen." Gemini said.her father nodded.after a heartfelt goodbye,Gemini met Ethan outside."everything's all set.we can go now.but we'll be visiting again soon." she said.

Gemini shrugged."okay.so,when we get back,what do you want for dinner? i'm cooking tonight." she said happily.

Gemini looked up at Ethan."is something wrong? you seem upst.did i do something to make you angry?" she asked,concerned that he was upset with her.

Gemini frowned."i know that,Ethan.trust me,it's been a long day for both of us.but maybe we can just relax over dinner or watch the stars or something.what do you like to do?" she asked.

Gemini laughed."ok,well you relax and i'll make dinner." she said,walking to the kitchen and washing her hands.she started preparing some vegetables and a roast.
((we'll just say he had a random roast in his freezer XD ))

it took a few hours,but soon enough Gemini was leaning over Ethan,gently shaking him awake."dinner is ready.i made plenty for all of us plus leftovers." she said a little sheepishly."it was so much fun cooking by meself...i hope it's ok."

Gemini walked into the kitchen,where a delicious scent filled the room.there were bowls of potatoes,green beans,and carrots,a large vat of gravy,and in the center of it all,a siezable roast just waiting to be eaten."take as much as you like from whatever you like.i won't be offended if you don't like carrots or something." she said cheerfully.

Gemini contemplated the question."actually...I feel pretty good.despite the terrible things that have happened, there are good things, too.I got my father back- my real father- I am free to stay here instead of ruling, I will not be forced to marry anyone I don't want to and the best part is that I can be with you.if you still want me, that is." She said, grabbing a plate and getting herself some food.
