Info: Has been in the mental hospital for about two months for seeing things that aren't really there. Doctors diagnose it as schizophrenia.

Yukari awoke to a strange voice.It called to her to follow it,but she knew it was just her imagination. She rose to pace in the hallway as she always did late at night,but it wasn't just to calm her frantic thoughts...It was to talk to that boy she saw sitting at the end of the hall.She finally decided she would talk to him.It's been a week.I finally have the courage to talk to him she thought to herself.She slowly started to walk towards the boy ignoring the innocent teddy bear hanging on her shoulder.

Zander had been strangely fascinated by certain parts of this place. This week it had been the wall at the end of the hall, which happened to be near his room. Zander didn't seem to mind staying here. It was certainly better than going back to his washed up poor excuse of a town. Although, he knew that he wasn't really crazy, he let the doctors do as they would, just so they would leave him be. On occasion he would have a 'break down' to assure a longer stay. Sure it was a horrible thing to do, but he really didn't care. Zander perked his head up at the sound of footsteps. It was that new comer. She was pretty cute, but lord knows why she was put in here. He shook that thought off and decided to speak with her. "Oh, hi. I'm Zander."

Yukari smiled."I'm yukari and this is..Well I haven't named her yet,but that doesn't matter since you probably can't see her."Yukari blushed at how stupid she sounded.OF COURSE he couldn't see her teddy bear.She sat next to him and sighed."In case your wondering I'm here for depression,but I know it's not..I see things like my teddy bear and I can hold her and talk to her,but only i see her..I guess shes a shadow who guides those in need."Yukari was so deep in thought that she forgot she was talking to Zander and she subconsciously leaned against him.

Zander listened closely and thought about what was just said. "It's true. I can't see her, but I do feel her. Her soul isn't strong enough to break through the barrier. Hmm. Something tells me she likes you and she's harmless. Always a good sign." Zander went back to the walland suddenly felt a weight on his shoulder. He looked over, seeing Yukari was leaning on him. He patted her head and stood her back up straight. She looked dazed and not entirely there. He stuck his face in hers and just stared. "You're an odd one. You sure you're okay?" He asked matter of factly. It was refreshing to talk to someone not crazy for once, but he was a little unsure abbout this.

Yukari blinked."Ya I'm OK hehe.Just thinking how I'm not the only one who sees them."She knew her bear was harmless..But what scared her was how comfortable Zander was being here.Not even big shadows she once saw as a child scared her as much as Zander had."Why are you so comfortable here?I mean just being here doesn't keep the shadows away you must know that."Yukari knew she was crazy,but Zander made her almost look totally normal.

Zander turned towards, actually giving her full attention. He could tell this girl was frightened by what she was given and didn't exactly understand. "I used to be horrified, but it's not always scary. Some of the good shadows have a difficult time coming through. I have trouble separating it from reality sometimes. Plus, it beats living out there where everyone is quick to judge. Even though we are never safe from the evils from the other world, but we're safe here from the evils of reality." He touched the wall. His attention would soon go if she didn't say anything quick.

Yukari blushed.Zander had a deepness to him she had never seen in others.She suddenly felt a fuzzy touch on her leg.It was a shadow spider.She.Hated.spiders.Yukari screamed in her head and jumped into Zander's lap.She couldn't stand the thing.It was fuzzy and staring at her we beady black eyes.She couldn't stop herself from shaking.She covered her mouth to contain the scream.She wished for a giant shoe right about now.

Zander laughed at the girl's scream. It brought him much guilty amusement. He watched the spider. "The thing about shadows is... they like to take sides." He watched on as the bear had stomped the spider to the ground until it dissinegrated. "See? It's best to make friends than it is to neglect. You'll learn that the hard way if yount learn it now." He stared at her blankly.

Yukari growled."I hate spiders even if they aren't shadow.Everyone is afraid of something.I think you're afraid of girls Zander."Yukari giggled.Even though she had never had a boyfriend herself, she was by know means afraid of men and Zander was a very attractive one even if he was a little crazy.That of course only made him hotter.

Zander whipped his head towards Yukari. "I am not!" He said with real human emotion. "It's normal people, I'm frightened of really. That's my only quirk." He sighed. "Shouldn't you be goiong to your studies? The teachers here aren't as leniant as the nurses."

Yukari sighed."No, since I did ok in school they let me take breaks every now and then...Besides I need to name my teddy bear."Yukari smiled."But if you want me to go that bad why don't you just tell me to go..I'm used to people telling me to leave them alone anyway."Yukari suddenly thought back to her so called family and how they only paid attention to her when something bad was going on.She was always being compared to others even when she was top test scorer when it came to exams.She lost all hope of finding someone who would except her at her best AND worst.

Zander reached out and touched her shoulder. "Listen, that's not what I meant." He sighed and then smiled lightly. "Domt assume the worst in people. Assume the best. It's too late for me to get that, but you can." He ran his fingers through his soft blonde hair. "Hmm." he thought out loud. "I think it's time for a snack. Care to join me, Miss Yukari?" he jokingly winked at her.

Yukari blushed."Well aren't you just a ladies man.Sure I'll be happy to."She smiled at Zander."Look maybe we can get out on good behavior..I'll show you that the world out there isn't as scary as you might think it is..Life goes on and that all you can do is accept it."Yukari smiled and grabbed his hand.It was soft and inviting and she didn't want to let go."Come on lets go get that snack. :)"

Zander smirked, "Nah, I'm just polite." he put his fingers to his chin. "Good behavior." he repeated. "I'm just a little uneasy about it all. I don't know if I had said this before, but I've always had trouble separating the shadows from reality. Lately..." he sucked in air through his nose slowly, "...they've gotten stronger. I can feel it in the air. They may not mean harm now, but give it time, and BAM! The whole human race could be gone in the blink of an eye." Zander turned to Yukari. "Ahh. I'm sorry. I don't mean to scare you, but I take all possibilities in to consideration."

Yukari smirked devilishly."No you're right to be suspicious..They can shape themselves into human form and trick everyone around them.And I've been around shadows since I was four..You CAN'T scare me."Yukari smiled confidently.It was true that she wasn't easily scared or taken by people(except spiders).Zander on the other hand had some aura about him that made Yukari feel stronger and yet..He had this gentle side that Yukari always saw.She suddenly realized she was stilll holding his hand, but she didn't let go...She only tightened her grip.

Zander pit himself at ease his and loosened his tension. Many thoughts ran through his mind like lightning. He exhaled and looked towards the floor. "Of course, it probably won't be so bad if I had someone by my side. It could be... interesting." He smiled lightly, but a one of mamy of the thoughts that ran through slowed and put Zander into a realization. "Do you suppose that... there's a way to beat them? And say if we did, would that put an end to all this?"

Yukari paused."Maybe..Have you ever noticed that strange things happen at midnight..And that you're the only person who's "awake"?"Yukari noticed lately that everyone around her was unconscious at midnight except her.She curiously thought is Zander experienced the same thing.
(P.S. I got this idea from Persona 3 lol its a game you can look up if your not familiar with it. And if you know any good anime type games where you can make your own choices let me know Emo :) )

Zander looked at her strangely. "As a matter of fact, I know exactly what you're talking about." He pointed to his eyes. "These dark circles is a result of these strange things." He blinked, feeling tired during each one. "Sometimes, I will try to get more sleep, but the earlier I go to sleep, the longer the strange things keep at it. For me, though, it's frightening sounds. I fear the unkown."
