"Alright, so whoever wins has to walk them cool?" The blond boy stated, wanting confirmation from the brown haired male.

"Yup. But, there's no question. I'm gonna win." Came his answer.

"Pfft." The blond boy grinned good naturally, turning the dark bay horse he sat upon around.

"Charge!" At the call, both boys began yelling and kicking, driving the two large horses to the other side of the clearing. The blonde's dark bay beat the brown haired boy's shorter palomino by a head. The boy laughed loudly, dismounting. Both horses and boys were covered with sweat, which is why they'd chosen to stop here. After a few hours ride through the forest's natural trails, the spring nearby looked inviting. But, first the horses would need to be cooled. Happily, the slim male handed the reins of the bay to the other boy. "Make sure they are perfectly cool, Damian!" He teased lightly. They didn't get to go riding often, but Vanyel loved going with his best friend. It was always an inviting change from the dirty city he lived in. He hated it, but he'd needed a job and was starting up in college. Coming back to the small town he'd been raised in was coming home, pure and simple. That city would never be his home.

His friend didn't look pleased, but had taken the reins, and stared off, flanked by two horses breathing heavily. He was kicking at rocks and clumps of grass as he moved, mumbling about cheaters. Vanyel shook his head and grinned. He turned back to the stream, and, leaving his clothes on, Vanyel plunged into the water, emerging dripping wet, but safe from the sun that had been beating on them for hours. No doubt Damian would plunge in while stripping, calling Vanyel a prude the entire time. He huffed, and laid down on the ground, stretching out. Such a hot day. He'd wished they'd brought some food, but they had been in such a hurry. Next stop: The blackberry bushes.

Appearance: Jay and Flinn Scion ((Jay is the one with silver hair, the good one, and Flinn is the one with dark hair, the bad one))

Jay looked around as contemplated what he had to do in the coming days. He was to turn 21 in a mere few months, and by then either him or his twin brother, Flinn, would assume the throne that their father had left him when he had passed on. However, there was just one tiny, small thing that they had to do. They had to find their true mate. A true mate was chosen by destiny and the stars rather than by blood relatives, and was always chosen during the naming ceremony that took place right after someone was born.

There were many people that would have rather seen himself than Flinn take over leadership of the country since he had always been loving and fair to his people, unlike Flinn who was merciless. Donning on some clothing so that he looked semi-presentable he left his room and went to the observatory where he had been summoned by the royal seer. The royal seer was the one that had told him and his brother their fortunes when they were born.

Heading up the flights to the observatory he was glad that he was in shape, since had he not been he would have never made it up the many fights of stairs. Once there he saw the scraggly old man standing there as he stared towards the clouds with a chart in his hands. Coughing a little to announce that he was there the other male looked at him and fumbled, but managed to get into a low bow. "You wished to see me," asked Jay as he glanced at the other.
"Why yes," replied the seer. "We have much to discuss. Come sit down if you would be so kind." Jay sat down at on a wooden chair that was in front of a rather large desk. He figured that the other wanted to discuss his father's health with him, since the other male hadn't been doing so well as of late, and when he would be assuming the throne. However, he would have to wait for the other to speak again.

((I will enter the other brother in the next post. Also I figured I would break my intro post into two pieces since it would get rather lengthy)).

(That's just fine. This is gonna be fun! Choices!!!! :squee: )

As predicted, Damian plunged in the water once the horses were cool. He was hollering and splashing around within minutes, while Vanyel grinned on the bank. He chewed a long strand of grass slowly, loosening the girth on the horses before tugging the saddles off, setting them carefully on low hanging branches of nearby trees. The thick blankets were folded in half and set on the ground. Then the bridles were slipped off and hung as well, before the blond removed the two lead ropes they had attached to the saddles, and hooked it to the halters the horses had on under the bridles. They were tied to nearby trees, the lead ropes hanging loose. Not all horses could be tied like that, but Polaris and Flight had been trained by his family...if the lead ropes wrapped around their hooves they would stand still under unwrapped instead of panicking.

Finally, he was able to get down to business. "You're gonna scare the fish away completely!" He shouted to the yelling boy. Damian grinned, before climbing from the lake and tugging his jeans on. The two friends quickly put together the fishing poles and took a seat next to the lake, Vanyel selecting another blade of grass. He did most of the fishing, and Damian kept cracking random jokes.

0ri0n83 03-22-2012 03:32 AM

Jay continued to sit there as he saw the old seer make his way to the other chair that was across the table. Once the other was there the seer began telling him the story of his birth. He knew all that. It was a miracle that he and he brother had been born. Their mother was told that she would never be able to bear the current king any children, but then something miraculous happened. She gave birth to two healthy happy twins. He knew all of this. He was reminded every time he and his brother had a birthday. "Okay," replied Jay as he glanced at the other. "Please, I have a meeting to get to if you would please tell me why you have called me here." He didn't want to be rude to the other, but he needed to get to another meeting, this one being with his father and the war counsel. They were to talk strategies about a possibly skirmish that could happen."I know that you know all of that, but do you remember what I told you about you finding a mate?" Jay had to think for a moment. He hadn't much talked about this with his father or his mother, let alone the original seer. "No," replied Jay flatly.

"Idiot!"declared the seer. "Then again I suppose that you would have not remembered from way back when. I told you that your mate was in the mortal realm, and that you had to find him and claim him before your 21st birthday.""Ya, ya," replied Jay. "I know all that." He knew that his mate was in the mortal realm, and that he had to be claimed before he turned 21. "Tell me something that I don't know." Jay thought for a moment, and then it clicked. Whoever made claim on the person would get the right as king after their father passed on, and everybody knew that Jay was the favorite. "You're right," exclaimed Jay as he stood up. "I need to get going right away. I turn 21 in less than 3 months." Racing out of the room he ran down the flight of stairs, and missed the shadow that was lurking underneath the stairs." Interesting," said a male voice that belonged to someone that looked a lot like Jay as he too made his way down the stairs as well.

((Gah, color changes= death)).

Kisu 03-22-2012 03:40 AM

(Lmao. That is why is no longer deal with them! I wasn't sure what else to put for the post. Sorry!)

The two boy's continued on for a while, the summer sun beating down on their bare skin. They each had a string of fish, though Vanyel had supplied most of them. Eventually, however, the sky began to become overcast. Clearly, it was a summer storm, common in this area. They would come suddenly and quickly, rain beating down on whoever was unfortunate enough to get caught in it.

Quickly, the boy began taking their poles apart, placing them on the packs behind their saddles. There was no way in the world they would make it back in time, but it was far to easy to get lost in the deep forest while raining. They began throwing the saddles on the horses, hanging the string of fish off the saddles. Talking and smiles were gone in the face of the storm, and within fifteen minutes the boy's had mounted and turned the beasts towards the trails.

0ri0n83 03-22-2012 04:24 AM

Jay continued to run down the hallway. It was no laughing matter. He remembered one such time that he and his brother were playing "what if." The topic had been what if you were to become the future king. Jay had talked about he wanted to unite everybody through peace, and understanding. However, Flinn had a much more darker tone in his way of wanting to rule the kingdom. He wanted to rule with an iron fist, where opposition would be destroyed swiftly and where people obeyed because they lived in fear. This was something that Jay would never let come to pass. He entered the meeting room with his father and other counselors, explained his predicament, got both of his parent's blessings and was soon on his way to the mortal realm. Jay wasn't really sure how he would be able to figure out who his mate was from what the seer had cryptically told him. He had told him that he would just know, and that there would be something called a resonance, whatever that was.

As he made his way to the border of the fey land and the mortal plain he bid farewell to the guard that was there as he plunged down to the Earth below. As he fell to Earth he donned on some glamour that would change his appearance, mostly his clothing and his pointed ears, and make him look like that of a normal human. As he continued to fall he heard some rumbling around him, and then there was a bright flash of light. He had always heard horror stories of fey that had gotten lost in storms while going to the mortal realm. Hopefully, he would not befall the same thing. There was another flash of lighting and then a mighty gust of wind blew him off course throwing him towards a patch of trees. Bracing himself for impact he landed heavily on the ground, and then blacked out.

Flinn, who had not gotten the head start before his brother decided that he would wait and plan for the time being. It would be so much easier for him to steal the mortal away when Jay had to bring him to the royal court to be formally introduced. The two of them would be married, and then the claiming would happen later that night after the festivities. He was pretty sure that his brother wouldn't break the sacred law of claiming his mate in the mortal realm, but love was a powerful, stupid thing.

Kisu 03-22-2012 04:35 AM

The pair had stared down the trails. The smaller palomino was behind the dark bay, and Vanyel glanced behind him, shouting to be heard over the loud wind. "This isn't good. Polaris is spooked and wants to get home..." As he spoke, the Tennessee walked began high stepping, the quick pace his breed was named for. Vanyel struggled to hold him back, not wanting his horse to get hurt trying to outrun the storm.

Before Damian could answer, there was a huge crash in front of them. Damian was yelling something about lightning, but Vanyel wasn't able to answer. The noise had spooked the horses, and Vanyel had been taken off guard, and was falling. The palomino had pushed past the bay, and was making a dash towards home, Damian trying in vain to hold the beast back. A natural herd animal, Polaris followed, taking flight and leaving his master groaning on the ground.

Rain began to pour. Just as Vanyel had though, it was pouring, beating down. Something warm and sticky traveled down his face, getting washed away by the rain. He lifted a hand to his head, to peer at his blood before it was rinsed from his hand. He groaned, and moved under a large tree, glancing around and shivering. Nearby, the trees that the lightning had hit were torn and ripped, though they hadn't exploded and didn't have the right gash for lightning. Upon closer inspection, it looked as if something was laying underneath them in a big bundle. Ignoring his throbbing head, Vanyel moved to the tree, rolling the bundle over to eye the boy in front of him. Puzzled, Vanyel squinted his face, wrinkling his nose and looking up. How in the world had this happened? Licking his lips, Vanyel patted the boy's cheek. "H-hey...wake up..." He tried, not wanting the male to stay asleep. What if he was seriously hurt or had a concussion.

0ri0n83 03-22-2012 04:54 AM

It was a mistake. A giant, big, and hulking mistake. Had he been wiser, even if he had been more attentive he would have left when he was supposed to leave. When it was safe. Yet, here he was heading down to the mortal realm through a thunderstorm no less. He was lucky to be alive. He was alive right? He felt warm, or at least he thought that he felt warm. Cracking his eyes open he immediately regretted it as he was assaulted by the sound of thunder, and rain. Closing his eyes he then felt someone's hand on his cheek. Someone's warm hand. Cracking his eyes open again he heard the other say something about waking up. He was awake, but then again he had his eyes closed. There was no telling if he was awake or unconscious. "I am awake," replied Jay as he tried to assess the damage to his body. He was pretty sure that his one ankle was either broken or he had a really nasty sprain since he could practically feel pain radiating off of it in waves. He tried to focus on something, to keep himself awake. His sensitive hearing picked up on the pitter patter of a heartbeat. It was beating rather fast. Was it his or the others?

Kisu 03-22-2012 05:01 AM

The blond boy sighed in relief when the boy spoke. He shifted, sitting back a bit, eying the boy. He had rather long hair, and seemed far too pretty for a boy, though the lack of a chest indicated his gender. "I...I don't wanna move you just yet. I don't understand what happened. It's like you flew into that tree..." He stopped rambling, looking for blood from the male. "A-are you alright? Anything hurt?"

He paused to let the male answer, then figured if he could keep him talking, it could help if the male was damaged at all. "What were you doing on foot all the way out here? That's never a good idea during storm season...I'm Vanyel...who are you?"

0ri0n83 03-22-2012 05:17 AM

Jay found himself nodding when he heard the other's soft voice telling him that he wasn't going to move him yet. Quite frankly he didn't want to be moved yet either. He still hurt all over, and he was afraid that if he got moved that it would ignite an all new pain again. Flew through a tree. He wasn't about to tell the other that he had come from the fey realm, and that he was here looking for his mate. The man already thought that he was nuts, that would just be the icing on the cake. "I think my ankle is either broken or sprained," muttered Jay as he tried to move it but to no avail. "I wasn't on foot," said Jay. It was true that he wasn't on fault. "I guess you could say I got here on a wing and a prayer." That had been the truth.

He listened to the other say his name, and it was as if a fire had been suddenly ignited in his chest. Just from hearing the other mutter his name he knew that the male above him was his true mate. Jay knew that if he said anything about it he would find himself on a one way bus trip to the looney bin, and then his brother would get the throne and get to claim the other as his mate. The other's name sounded good in his head, and he wished that he had the strength to utter it out. However, he barely had the strength to utter out his own name. "My name is Jay Scion."

Kisu 03-22-2012 05:25 AM

Vanyel listened as the other spoke, and automatically glanced at the foot. He didn't want to check. He was no doctor, but most likely, as soon as the storm stopped, a group would come out. He'd be able to transport the man back to his house and get him some medical attention. What the man said was puzzled, but Vanyel didn't try to figure it out at the moment, more worried about the man's condition.

"Scion? Huh..." Vanyel offered the boy a smile, though his eyes were still closed. "Pretty cool name. Much better than La'Arc. I'm jealous." He paused, thinking of ways to keep the male talking. "What are you doing in this small town? You don't talk like you're from here...and there's not much to see."

0ri0n83 03-22-2012 05:45 AM

Jay was glad that the other didn't press the matter on the whole a wing a prayer thing that he had said. Right now he didn't have the strength to explain anything more, nor the mental capacity right now to defend himself if people thought that he was crazy. "Sounds like a nice last name," said Jay as he smiled at the other even though his eyes were still closed. As time passed he was pretty sure that the only major part of him that was hurting was the ankle. What was he doing in a small town like this? What was he doing in such a small town anyway. Evading the other's direct question he said," I just happened to be in the neighborhood. Decided to see the sites." He still hadn't given the other much to work with, and that suited him just fine right now. "I am looking for someone if you must know. Someone...very important.

Kisu 03-22-2012 05:51 AM

"Oh, really?" Vanyel glanced out from the tree cover. The rain had lessened. These storms were like that, appearing suddenly, creating a giant downpour, then vanishing, leaving everything glinting and clean. "The storm will end soon, then it will just be a little while until help comes, maybe an hour or two, okay?" He spoke to the male, before continuing with what the man had said.

"So, you're looking for someone?" He repeated. "I grew up here, and not many new people come here, so I can probably help. I'm not sure why you were looking in these woods for them, but if you let me know who they are, I can take you there as soon as we get you fixed up..."

0ri0n83 03-22-2012 06:11 AM

Jay listened to the other. His wound wasn't life threatening, and already his fey magic was working its way through the bones mending whatever was torn or damaged. Some times it was nice being a supernatural being. The other wanted to know more about who he was looking for. Hell, he didn't know much either. As he fell to Earth he just knew that he had to come towards this town. It was as if it was calling out to him. His mate had to be here, but if that was the case then the person in front of him was most certainly his mate. He had felt a surge of electricity run through him when the other had said his name, but there was no way that he was going to mention it to the other, at least not right now. "Yes, I am looking for someone," he began. He swallowed choosing his words carefully. "This person is very dear to me, and it is imperative that I find this person." He wasn't going to say find him or her in the event that he was wrong and that it really was a person of the wrong gender. "Well how should I put this. There is just someone I need to find before a certain period in my life." That had sounded a lot better in his head, and right now he figured that the other probably thought that he was nuts.

Kisu 03-22-2012 06:18 AM

There was a rather long pause before Vanyel responded. "Uhm, okay. I understand...you really need to find the person. So, what this person's name?" He was talking rather slowly, starting to think the boy was either seriously hurt, or maybe a bit slow in the head. "I'm sure even I don't know them, we can track them down pretty quickly.

The rain had slowed to a drizzle, Vanyel noted happily. Since it was so low, if Damian had made it home already, there would be a team of horses on their way, with both of the boy's families riding. "Alright...I guess our rescue party will be on their way. So, Jay...where are you from?"

0ri0n83 03-22-2012 11:32 PM

Jay smiled, or at least he think that he smiled, at the other male. The other male was trying to be as accommodating as possible however, he also knew that the other was just probably humoring him. The person's name. If his thoughts were correct, then the person above him was the one that he had been searching for. As his head hurt more and more a buzzing began to go through his head. Crying out in pain he began to see black splotches in his vision when he opened his eyes to try and take in his surroundings. He mumbled a little bit as he tried to think coherently. "Y-you," said Jay as he passed out as the rain began to slow. He barely heard what the other had said.

Kisu 03-22-2012 11:42 PM

Vayel jerked away, accidentally dropping the had that he was cradling. He gave a wince as the boy's head hit the ground, and quickly began cradling it again. Surely he'd heard wrong. It had sounded like Jay had said 'You'. Frowning, the boy glanced upwards, wanting the rain to hurry and stop.

Either this strange man was a weird psychopath, or some kinda stalker. It didn't really make sense any other way, seeing as how Vanyel had never met him before.

Eventually, the group did arrive on horseback, and Vanyel stood, carefully laying the boy stomach down on the horse. It took a few people to lay him on the horse. Awkwardly, Vanyel climbed on the back on his bag, holding Jay still so the boy wouldn't fall from the saddle. The whole ride back he was mulling over the boy who'd fallen from the sky, peeking at his still form.

Soon they were back in the house, and his uncles helped move Jay to a guest bedroom, tugging off the soaked socks and shoes, and laying out new clothes. Vanyel himself changed clothes, before moving into the room, tugging a wooden chair to the bedside. Awkwardly, and unused to being a caregiver, Vanyel shook the male gently. If he did have a concussion, he really needed to be awake. "H--hey. Jay?"

0ri0n83 03-23-2012 01:50 AM

Jay who was barely conscious at the time he glanced up at the other. What he wasn't expecting was his head to be dropped onto the hard ground. He blacked out again. He heard someone apologize, and then he lost all consciousness again.

The next thing that he knew he was laying in a rather soft bed. Someone had taken the liberty to remove his shoes and his socks, and drape a rather warm blanket over him. Someone was trying to shake him awake. "Yes," mumbled Jay as he cracked his eyes open again. Blinking a few times he he looked over to see that Vayel was sitting next to him. "Where am I?" he managed to murmur out as he swallowed. His mouth was very dry. The last thing that he remembered was falling out of the sky and then hitting the ground with a rather hard thud.

Kisu 03-23-2012 01:59 AM

"Hey...glad your awake!" Vanyel stated first, grinning. "You're at my parents ranch. We brought you back here. The doc will be here soon to check you out. You said before your ankle hurt..." He paused to reach towards the pitcher his mother had brought. "Are you thirsty? Dinner will be done soon, and we'll be able to eat." His own head was bandaged, rather excessively in his opinion, but his mother had insisted.

"You had me worried for a bit, going on and on like you'd hit you head a bit too hard..." He rambled.

0ri0n83 03-23-2012 02:42 AM

Jay was glad that he was somewhere safe for the time being. Or at least he thought that he was somewhere safe for the time being. He didn't know where he was to be honest, but he was sure that the one in front of him wouldn't hurt him. His aura was just too nice to be evil or mean. He glanced at the pitcher of water that was in the other's hand and found himself slowly nodding his head. He was thirsty, and his lips were beginning to crack from lack of water.

He chuckled nervously when he heard the other say that he must have been talking a bunch of nonsense since he had struck his head hard on the ground. He was glad, at least for the time being, that the other had shrugged it off. He needed to sort through his own emotions and thoughts as well. He seemed to have at least a decent amount of time to do that though. He had a little less than 3 months, but he was pretty sure that would provide him with enough time to get the other to go back with him to the fey realm.

Kisu 03-23-2012 07:40 PM

The male poured a glass quickly, holding it out to the other man. Jay wasn't saying much, and to be honest, Vanyel wasn't sure if he was happy about that or disappointed. He observed the man for a few long minutes.

Finally, he broke the silence. "So...your relatives must be pretty worried about you...What's their number? I'll give them a call and let them know what's going on, and if the doctor says we can move you after he sees you, we'll take you over there."

0ri0n83 03-24-2012 10:06 PM

Jay took the glass of water that was offered to him as he took a rather large drink out of it. Putting the glass in his lap he smiled at the other as he said,"Thank you." Jay couldn't fathom how a complete stranger would invite him into his house, nor why the other would take care of him. Either way he was very fortunate that the other had found him, and not someone else.

Relatives? Ha, he actually let out a small laugh. Relatives indeed. His relatives weren't looking for him. They had all for sent him here to the mortal realm to find his bond mate, to find Vanyel, or at least he thought it was Vanyel. "Uh," he began. He needed to think of a quick lie. "They're out of the country right now. I don't really know how to get a hold of them. When they are on vacation they don't really like to be interrupted either." At least that was partially true. "I'll figure out a way to get a hold of them somehow though." With another smile he finished the rest of the glass of water as he looked at the other and said,"Can I have some more water?"

Kisu 03-25-2012 01:43 AM

Vanyel looked puzzled, though the question brought him back quickly. "Oh! O-of course...S-sorry..." He refilled the glass, and set the metal pitcher down with a small clink on the tray. "If your relatives are out of the country, who are you staying with? We kinda need to let them know what happened to you..." He paused, and looked oddly at Jay. "What did happen, really?"

0ri0n83 03-25-2012 05:52 AM

Taking the glass from the other he took another drink from it as he listened to the other prattle off about his parents. He shouldn't have said anything, because the more he lied the more of a hole he was digging himself. Should he just come clean? He would have to tell the other about his true intentions sooner or later. His healing skills were beginning to heal the more minor cuts and scrapes, and it would be only a matter of time before he would be able to to travel again. Cleaning his throat he set the glass of water on his lap. "What if I told you that there was real magic in the world, and it's not just some lie or make believe thing only found in stories."

Kisu 03-27-2012 11:35 AM

The human's rambling stood in the middle of his sentance. "Wha-?" Before he could catch it, Vanyel was staring the the other male like he was crazy. "I...uhm...well, of couse fairy tales are fake. I mean, magic itself defies the very laws of all kinds of things, matter and physics." Noting he was rambling again, Vanyel bit his bottom lip, glancing over worriedly.

"Were you...uh, wanting a bedtime story or something?" Honestly, he couldn't think of another reason Jay would ask about magic.
