"Maybe...although I don't see why..." he said and shrugged as he walked through the long way back home. "I would only take the short way home if I was afraid of something or someone..."

Arachne chuckled softly. "Maybe they were afraid that the haunted house ghost was coming to get them," she said. She crossed her arms over her stomach, looking over at Basou.

Basou chuckled and shrugged. "Maybe so Arachne." he looked at her and then looked ahead. "I'm not really scared of many things...." he explained.

"So that explains why you weren't afraid of me," Arachne said with a chuckle.

"Well I'm afraid of actual spiders, so your legs do freak me out a bit." he explained. "You aren't a full spider though, so you're not really scary." he added and nodded.

Arachne looked at Basou with a questioning expression. "Oh really?" she said, her expression changing back to normal, "Well you have yet to see me truly acting like my race. You might not wanna see that, though, seeing as we are lustful and everything."

Basou nodded. "Yes really, you don't scare me, though I bet you're scary when you're angry." he said and looked at her gently. "Lustful...aren't we all though?" he asked and blushed slightly before looking away.

"Us of the arachnid race are more lustful than any other race," she said, "Some of us are even more lustful than a succubi. I, gladly, am not one of those arachnids..." She smiled sheepishly upon seeing his blush.

Basou kicked a pebble and the looked over at Arachne, the blush still on his face. "Oh I see..you are an interesting race then no?" he asked and ran a hand through his hair gently. "It's good to know that you aren't lustful to the Extreme...that would be very scary and uncomfortable to see." he said quietly.

Arachne giggled. "Still doesn't mean that I'm not lustful," she said with a wink, sticking her tongue out slightly.

"I never said you weren't lustful." he said and looked straight ahead. "Lustful people are okay in my book.." he said quietly as he continued to walk through the path.

"So, you like lustful people?" Arachne said with a slight chuckle as she continued to follow Basou.

Bastou blushed a dark red and decided to change the subject. "So yeah this is the long and lonely way home..." he said and continued to walk.

Arachne laughed. "Changing the subject, cherry cheeks?" she said with a playful grin.

Basou looked at her and shook his head. "Well...uh not really." he said. "I'm just saying that this is the long and lonely way home..." he explained.

"We weren't talking about that though," Arachne said, "We were talking about how you like lustful people~" She had a slight purr to her voice.

Basou looked at her and sighed. "I didn't say I liked lustful people...I just said that they're okay." he explained and looked at her, trying to stop blushing.

"Then why are you blushing?" Arachne said, a playful, cat-like grin on her face.

Basou glared at her. "Who said I'm blushing?" he asked and kicked a pebble into the grass. "Even if I am blushing, it doesn't mean anything..."

"I did," Arachne said, "You can't deny it. And if you are blushing, it means your embarrassed. Sometimes people blush if they're shy, but I can tell that that's not the case."

Basou stopped walking and looked at Arachne as his blush returned. "Well you're right about one thing...I'm not a shy guy." he said and sighed. "Besides, it really doesn't even matter if I like anyone...what's the point of liking someone if they don't like you in return?" he asked and shook his head.

"How would you know if they didn't like you, though?" Arachne said as she stopped next to Basou, "They might just be afraid of getting rejected or waiting for the other to make the first move."

"It's obvious when someone doesn't like you Arachne...their eyes say it all...they way they look at you.." he said and sighed. "I know us guys are supposed to make the first move...but why bother when you know they don't like you."

"There are a lot of people who are able to hide their feelings," Arachne said with a small sigh, "Even through their eyes. It could all just be an act. Or it could be the other way around and they don't actually like you, like you said." She crossed her arms over her stomach.

Basou stared at her and rolled his eyes. "Please Arachne...they hate me and I know it..." he said and sighed sadly as he began to walk again sadly.
