"If you think it'll be okay..." Hazel said uncertainly. It definitely wasn't something she would have done on her own, but she would with Kaladin.
"I'll double check with Brit to make sure," Kaladin said, seeing that she was clearly worried about that. "If that will make you feel better about this."
"I just don't want to upset any of the animals," Hazel said. "Especially when there will be little ones about."
Kaladin nodded. "Well, I'll make sure that won't be a problem. They should get used to people, and most of the mothers already know how this all works."
"If you think it'll be okay, then I'll try," Hazel said, squeezing his hand gently.
Kaladin smiled and kept hold of her hand for the trip back to the ranch. "Well, is there anything else you'd like me to do?"
Hazel kept hold of his hand and smiled a bit.
"Kiss me again?" she asked. |
Kaladin smiled and kissed her again, taking his time. Hey, she'd even asked this time.
Hazel returned the kiss, more confidently this time. Hopefully, she wasn't too woefully inept anymore.
Kaladin just took his time, his eyes half-closed as he showed her some new things. He couldn't just show her everything at once, after all. Then he'd have no surprises left.
Hazel broke the kisses a few moments later, panting and trying to catch her breath. She smiled at him a little, blushing.
Kaladin smiled, pleased, and pulled her a little closer. "You learn quickly."
"Is that good?" Hazel asked breathlessly.
"Very." Kaladin grinned briefly and kissed her again.
Hazel returned the kiss, still blushing slightly as she did so.
"I'm glad you're pleased, then," she murmured around the kisses. |
"Very pleased." Kaladin smiled and kissed her once more lightly before he pulled back.
"Well, what now? Shall I accompany you back to your office?" |
"I want to try to get some more work done before the end of the day," Hazel replied, nodding. She tried to fight back the last of the blush so she wasn't red when they got out of the carriage.
Kaladin nodded and opened the carriage door, letting her out before he walked with her back towards the main building.
Hazel got out of the carriage and waited for him before heading back towards the main building. As they walked, she reached out and gently took his hand.
Kaladin smiled and kept hold of her hand, pulling open the door for her and waiting for her to go in before he followed her.
"Well, I probably shouldn't distract you from your work anymore." |
"Probably," Hazel said reluctantly. She didn't want him to go, but she knew he had things he needed to do around the ranch. She was paying him for that, after all.
Kaladin kissed her again. "I'll see you later, then." He smiled a little, keeping hold of her hand for the moment.
Hazel returned the kiss, and then hugged him briefly.
"I shouldn't keep you from your work any longer," she said softly. Reluctantly, she let go of his hand. |
Kaladin nodded reluctantly and kissed her once more quickly.
"I'll see you later tonight, then." He shot her a quick smile before he slipped off to actually go work again. |
Hazel smiled back and settled herself at the desk again.
Seamus glanced up when he saw his brother coming out of the main building. "About time," he teased when his brother got closer. "We were starting to think you were going to keep her out and about all day." |
