Ian glanced around furtively before he grinned, shaking bright orange hair out of his face, the ends dyed red to look like flames. Focusing dark blue eyes on his destination, he took off, heading through the forest around his family's house as quickly as he could. He had an appointment to keep, after all. And he really wanted to make his appointment. Maybe he'd even get there a little early this time. That would be a first.
Keri sighed as she left the library. She'd been studying her magic again, and now she was tired. Yawning briefly, she glanced around. Her parents were gone, off on some business venture, and she was left in charge of her little brother. Getting up and pushing her long black braid behind her back again, she started looking for Ian. Where was he, anyway? Probably wandered off again. Rolling light blue eyes, Keri set about the huge task of finding her little brother. ------ On the other side of the kingdom, Jack lounged about in his room, medium brown hair falling over his bright green eyes in a shaggy style. He was the middle child of the vampires, and so mostly people overlooked him. His older brother was set to become king later, and his little sister was rather doted on. Although recently he'd noticed that she'd been going out more and more. Jack was rather curious, and he decided to follow her the next time she left the house. Hey, he was bored and he had nothing better to do. |
Rivalry? What does it mean? What is it all for? To slaughter your rival, your hands stained with their blood? It didn't make sense to Kyou. That's why she decided she wouldn't be involved in the mindless war between the vampire and demon families. It was stupid to fight just because past generations have.Kyou saw there was no reason to fight. Therefor, she had been seeing one of the demon family's son. She didn't feel wrong about seeing him, but her other family members would disagree without hesitation. Which is why she had to keep this from her family as long as she could. At least until her family and the other family come to an understanding. But lord knows how long that will take. Kyou had the day all planned out for herself and Ian. She got up quite early so no one would know where she was headed off to. She packed a few things into her back pack. Things she needed in an emergency as well as for the rest of the day. Once her backpack was all packed, she put it on herself. She then picked up her white parasol which she took to hide herself from the sun. She didn't burn to a crisp at the sun but it did seem a lot more intense then it was to other beings. As she quietly headed downstairs with her parasol in her hand, she began to pack a basket full of delicious goods. Food to be exact. Vampires didn't really need to eat, the only thing they considered their food to survive was blood but since she did like food Kyou liked human food, shepacked enough food for two. She was planning to have a picnic with Ian. He didn't know about it, all she told him was to meet at their "special place" they always met when they could. She packed all sorts of fruit, vegetables as well as sandwiches, bread, butter and cheese. As soon as it was packed, she quietly left the house from the back door closing it behind her gently. She opened up her white parasol which she always took on warm days like this. Holding onto the handle of her parasol in one hand and the basket in the other, she began to walk to the place she always met Ian at. It was a secret place in the forest she had stumbled on when she was a young girl. And since then it has been her favorite spot to be. It was secretive yes but it also had a lovely view. As she made it there, she set things up. Ian was always late yes but she didn't mind one bit. As long as he showed up rather then standing her up. it ticked her off when people stood her up for no good reason. ---- Byron. The oldest sibling in the vampire family. His father wanted him to be king, though how could he say no? He was the next suited person for the king. He was the perfect canidate for being king. He didn't want to let his fellow people down not to mention his family. And so he had told his father he would take the seat to be king. Byron was quite the gentleman. He looked after his siblings. Mostly his sister. She was the only female in the family besides his mother. It was his duty to protect her. He had noticed she often left the house quite early, though Kyou has always been an odd child so he didn't think much of it. He remembered when Kyou would go adventuring in the forest when she was younger. Byron thought that is what she mostly did now when she wasn't being spoiled rotten by their parents. Walking around the halls after Kyou had left he stopped by Jack's room. He stepped inside of his room wondering what he was doing. He didn't talk to Jack that often. "Hey. What are you doing?" Ian made his way to the pre-appointed meeting place as quickly as he could, running through the woods with an easy familiarity. He grinned briefly as he startled a few raccoons from their meal, sending them lumbering off as he pelted past.
He was only a little late to their meeting this time, and he arrived panting, grinning briefly at Kyou. "Sorry I'm late. Had to sneak out past my sis." Ian walked over to her, grinning again. "She's gonna be pissed when she finds out. Oh well. It's definitely worth it." Keri tracked Ian down through the forest, quieter than him and more skilled at what she was doing. She'd been hunting Ian down his whole life; it was second nature now. She slowed down when she was about fifty yards from the pair, scaling the nearest tree easily and sneaking her way closer to the two via the trees. Her eyes widened when she realized Ian was sneaking off to see a girl. Then she grinned. How cute! Her baby brother's first crush! Her excitement faded some when she realized the girl wasn't a demon. Puzzled, Keri crouched down there, peering more closely at the two. Huh. Okay, this could prove problematic... ------- Jack shrugged. "Not much. Just waiting for something to do." Something to do being waiting for his chance to follow Kyou out of the castle, but he wasn't about to tell Byron that. His dearest big brother didn't need to know that. "Why? Bored, big brother? No kingly duties to see to?" So he liked to tease his brother. So what? That was what they did. It was practically bonding for the two of them by now. |
Kyou looked around to see if Ian was in sight. Though she couldn't see him, she could sure smell him as well as sense his presence nearing quite fast. He was running quickly to get to the place they told each other to meet at. She set down the basket of food and put down her umbrella. When Kyou picked the basket back up she saw Ian right in front of her, panting. "That's okay, I'm glad
you made it." She smiled to him, her fangs showing off a little bit. "Now I packed us a ton of delicious goods for lunch. If your hungry we can eat right now." She told him. "Here. You hold the basket. I will set up everything else." She told him. She got out a folded blanket she had put into her bag. She unfolded it and gently laid it down onto the ground so they wouldn't see sitting on any dirt or wet grass that would ruin their clothes. She then sat down and waited for Ian to do the same. "My family is usually asleep around this time, so usually it is pretty simple to get out of the house. Sometimes my brothers are awake but not many times do I run into them while trying to sneak out of the house. Once or twice its happened but my eldest brother Byron always thinks I am going on adventures since I used to do that when I was a little girl. So its a good cover up." She told him with a smile. "Now for lunch I packed all sorts of food so you are to be sure to get the right nutrition." She smiled. Even though Kyou was a vampire and at home she is basically treated like royalty and she could have a short temper at times, with Ian she didn't feel any of that. She felt like she was actually normal for once. Even though Ian himself wasn't normal. "So..today." She paused while getting out some of the food from the basket. "What do you think we should do today?" She asked and looked up at Ian for a moment. "I want to spend as much time with you as we possibly can as I do enjoy spending time with you." Even though Ian's sister Keri had followed him, Kyou hadn't even sensed her presence. That usually happened when she was with Ian. She let her guard down around him. Though if trouble ever came their way, she knew he would protect her and she would do the same for him. "I think I might've packed a little too much food today." She let out a small giggle. "Well as long as you enjoy the food that's all that matters." ---- Byron knew his brother was up to something. He could sense it. But lately he and Jack haven't been getting along that well. So Byron has kept his distance. And his father had been bringing him every place possible for these preporations of being king. It honestly bored Byron. He wasn't exactly thrilled to be king but it was something he had to do. "I see, well just stay out of trouble Jack." He told him sounding like the older brother he was. Though hearing his remark to his kingly duties he narrowed his eyes. "My kingly duties are the things that bore me if you must know." He informed him. "Well if your going out be safe as I have to stay at home and do what father asks. You have a curfew to be home by, remember that." He said before he left. [I need to make bigger posts.
