Laylana lost her father at a very young age. He was killed during a fire in a factory in northern France. Her mother went missing 3 years ago and Laylana has been alone ever since. She was dying on the street when a kind woman about the age of fifty asked her to come and work under her as a maid for lord Sebastian Mason. She knew who he was everyone did he was he richest and most powerful man in Paris. She agreed to work as a maid so she would not die in starvation. She has been working for lord Mason for 2 years now and she has herd rumors that he cares for her more then what he should.....

Sebastian yawned and got up from his bed. Being so very rich was often great for him. He slept in the best bed and he had the nicest things. He also had the finest young women working for him, as well as many handsome men. He felt better than ever this particular morning because he was even more rested than usual. He normally didn't get much sleep because of his rather...interesting nightlife. He allowed his servants to bathe and clothe him before he walked into the kitchen, happy to see his food already waiting on him. Today would be like any other for the young lord. He'd be sure and get his business cared for, pay a visit to the shops near his house, and do whatever else his heart desired. The only thing that he couldn't do...well, that was have his newest maid to be even more than that. She was a fine young lady with long, luscious hair and eyes that could no doubt see into the soul. There were just, well..to many prices to pay in order to have her. Even money couldn't make her fall for him. Or could it? Maybe he'd just buy her something nice and call it a gift. After all, on this very day she'd been working for him exactly two years. He could say it was a simple anniversary present. He grabbed his wallet and slid out of the door, going to look and aw what he might find for her. He looked around, wondering what could be special enough to catch the young ladies eye.

Sebastian got what he desired and returned to his home, not offering an explanation when asked why he hadn't been home to attentd to his duties. He simply told the man who asked to shut up and leave him alone as he retired to his study. He wasn't in the mood for questions that had no reasonable answers. He wrapped the small gift, a figurine to be exact, in a light and elegant paper. The next thing he did was send for Laylana, asking that she be brought to his private study.

Laylana felt as the hot water burned her skin and even then she continued to scrub the floor. She was on her hands and knees in the early morning scrubbing the floors of what seemed to be a empty forgotten place. Yet it wasn't it was a beautiful mansion filled with butlers and maids and priceless paintings and works of art. She continued to work as she began to feel even smaller then usual not remembering how little of value she was in a place like this one. She soon finished the floors which now looked spotless thanks to her hard work and scolded hands. Familiar faces began to cover the house as the rest of the 'help' began to get up and begin their duties. She continued n for the rest of the day as she always did as quietly as she could as if she wanted to go unnoticed from anyone or thing. Laylana felt short pains here and there commin from her chest. The doctor told her as the years go by she will feel them more often and stronger and finally she will die ...the doctor gave her about 1 year or less left to live. Laylana has kept this from everyone even her master. She was to humble to accept help she was content with her time that was left and that was that. She had the fear that someone would find out soon since the pain is getting worse sometimes she cant help but cry out in pain. She has to cover her mouth now just so she doesnt call the attention of others in the household.

Suddenly a butler appeared in front of her delivering the news that her master wanted to see her. She nodded and slowly made her way towards his study. Before she got to the door she hopped and prayed she would not have one of her 'attacks' in front of her master she didnt want him to fire her for not telling him about her health condition. She gracefully made her way into the room her beautiful hair flowing as she made her way towards her master. When she was a few feet away from him she knelt down and lowered her hear as it was customary in order to greet a master. " My lord what is it that you desire of me?" She asked as she waited for his response.

He smiled as she walked in, beautiful hair swaying as she walked. She really was his favorite and a really gorgeous girl. He stood up and went over to her, motioning that she should relax. He held out the gift that he'd only just wrapped. "Here. It's your second year working in my household and I wanted to give you something. It's not much, but I hope you like it." He paused, knowing that the other servants would wonder about the figurine. "If anyone asks, you were given that by a friend. I can't get all of my servant's a gift, and I don't care to listen to their complaining." He took a moment of silence to just stand there and smile at her. "You are a great maid. You work hard and I'm sure you'll be a fine woman someday."

Laylana felt her heart beat speed up as she herd him step towards her. It felt as if he was walking in a slow motion almost as if he had control of time its self. His foot steps made loud echos in her head before she knew it he had helped her up and they were looking face to face. Once he had given her the present she had no idea what to say or think. " My lord you shouldn't had its a waste considering...." She stopped herself before she continued. Her master had no idea of her condition she didn't want to tell her that her life was being cut short. After all it was none of his business he was just her master nothing important in her life...." I meant you should have bothered really " She began to open her present and saw that it was a figurine made out of expensive crystal of some sort. " My lord this must have been expensive. I cant except this ...." She stated as she began to place the object back into its box.

Sebastian cocked an eyebrow, now knowing that something was being hidden from him. That was more than a little unnerving and he didn't like it. "And why would it be a waste? You are a beautiful, hard working young lady. Why should I not give you a gift?" He couldn't understand this. Maybe she was just trying to reject his advances in a kind way. Either way he sought the truth and he didn't plan on allowing her to leave until he got said truth. "Tell me what is bothering you. I don't wish to be kept in the dark. If you cannot trust me by now, then I have failed as your master and should be shoot for such a crime."

Laylana felt horrible she couldn't tell him the truth. She didn't want anyone to treat her differently because she was 'doomed'. Suddenly life made the choice for her on whether or not she should tell her master. Her chest began to pound with force that could knock a grown man down. " Oh God not now please...." She gave a loud scream as she grabbed her chest in agony and pain. She slowly began to hit the grown she felt every strength she had with in her slip away. She was powerless she was weak...she was closer to death then ever before. Before her eyes gave into darkness she manged to mouth "sorry" before she passed out from the extreme pain.

Sebastian jumped. "What?!" He caught her before she could hit the ground completely. He didn't understand what was going on. When she passed out he laid her on a couch and called a personal doctor to come and explain what was going on.
