"I never said I was going to have her killed in the dungeon, but it's always good to make sure that our slaves know their place, and I don't think she really knows hers... and you WILL NOT talk to your mother or I like that! We ARE you're parents and we ARE in higher power then you, don't forget that." The king sneered before turning and looking at his wife. "Come... I think we've spoken enough for now." he said to her softly before he started to walk off.

Valefar growled at his father as he spoke. "You both are nothing like parents! You sure don't act like parents, you push me around as if I'm a slave as well...!" he spat. "I'll talk to the both of you however I please!" he yelled and balled up his hands into fists. The queen looked at Valefar with a glare before turning to her husband. "I agree, this conversation is over." she said as she followed the king. It was then, that Valefar knew his parents didn't love him either.

After the king and queen had walked off Sinz appeared next to Valefar and looked at him almost sadly. "Are you okay? I could hear the conversation from Vixen's room... not that you guys were that loud... I just have really good hearing is all." she said softly and you could tell she just wanted to be nice right now... Vixen wasn't able to talk to him right now so she thought she might try.

"I hate both of you!" he yelled and listened to Sinz. Shaking his head he looked at her. "If you want to talk come with me." he whispered as he felt tears come to his eyes. Walking over to his room, he walked inside and placed Vixen's collar in his closet then sat on his bed and looked at Charlie. "My parents...I'm just sick and tired of them. It's obvious to me that they don't love me. They probably never loved me and I just grew up with a fantasy in my head, in which they did love me. I lied to myself by telling myself that they did love me. Now I know that the only person who ever loved me is dead." he said referring to Eofe.

"I can honestly say I'm sorry that your parents don't love you... but you do have people that care about you, and Charlie love you. And if your parents get mad at you for trying to protect someone that cares about you then what use are they?" Sinz said softly then sighed a bit. "I'm sorry if I'm not much help... Vixen's much better at talking to people then I am..." she sighed a bit though did hope that she helped at least a little.

"People that care about me?" he repeated and looked at Sinz. "If I had people that cared about me I would.....know." he trailed off and gently pet Charlie as he woke up. "I know that Charlie loves me...he's probably the only one in this entire castle that loves me." he said and chuckled. "Sinz, you're doing a great job at talking to me." he replied and smiled a bit. He wasn't much of a smiler, but he did smile every now and then.

"Yes you do have people that care about you, Vixen cares about you, me and Souls care... though I have a thing about not showing it I guess... and I've heard Vixen and some of the maids talking before, I think you have more people that care then you think." Sinz said softly then smiled a little back at him though you could tell she wasn't used to smiling at all... unless it was a smirk or grin.

"The three of you care about me even after what I did?" he said and looked at Sinz. He was surprised to hear that some maids actually care about him. He cared about his maids as well, he made sure they didn't over work themselves and if they were ill or hurt he made them stop working immediately. "I care about the maids too..." he said quietly and sighed. "Tell me...how are Souls and Vixen doing?" he asked quietly.

"Yes... Vixen is very forgiving, Souls is too... and you haven't given me too many reasons to really hate you." Sinz said softly then thought for a moment and sighed. "Souls is still sick, it'll take her a little bit to get better... and Vixen was still sleeping when I left the room... you're father did quite a number on her." Sinz said softly though knew that both of the others would be okay.

Valefar nodded. "Well yes that's true. I should have gotten there sooner, maybe it wouldn't have been as bad as it is." he commented and gently picked up Charlie into his arms and pet him softly. "I take it you heard the entire conversation between myself and my parents?" he asked Sinz as he stood up. He was going to head out to the lake and let Charlie swim around.

"Most of the conversation yes" Sinz said softly then saw Valefar stand and got out of his way in case he was going to go her way.

"Well then, I hope you tell Vixen what you heard. If you didn't hear this, please tell her that my father forbids her to leave the castle...and so do I." he said with a mixture of anger and sadness before leaving his room and walking out to the pond. "I think you need to swim for a bit..." he said to Charlie as he set him in the pond and sat down in the pond to watch.

"Okay I shall tell her." Sinz said softly before leaving the room and going back to Vixen's room. Vixen slept for awhile longer before slowly waking up and sitting up a bit groaning some as she held her head then touched her neck softly. It had been a long while since she had actually felt her bare neck and it was kinda odd now. "Oh, m'lady I need to tell you something, for your own protection you are not to leave the castle, Valefar forbids you to leave the castle even to just go outside. I'm sure that if you were to just step out to tell him that dinner was ready or something that would be fine but you need to ask him about that." Sinz said softly and Vixen looked at her curiously. "Why?" she asked and Sinz sighed as she explained that Valefar and his parents had gotten into an argument after he had left her room. She felt kinda bad at this and slowly stood. "M'lady you shouldn't be getting up, you should rest like the prince told you to." Sinz said softly and Vixen huffed a bit. "He said I should rest and relax right? Well I want to go to the library and look at some of the books... he never said I couldn't do that now did he?" she huffed and Sinz fell silent before fallowing Vixen to the library where she started to look for a book to read.

As Valefar sat in the pond keeping a close eye on Charlie, he thought of what his parents said. "I feel nothing for her...right?" he asked himself and ran his hands through the dark and murky water. "I don't, and I'm not protecting her either. I'm just making sure she doesn't get killed, and that's not protecting...I believe." he said quietly and sighed as he looked at the water then up at the sky. Just then, Charlie slithered up to Valefar's lap and caused Valefar to look down. "What do you think Charlie?" he asked and chuckled when Charlie made a squeaky noise.

After a few minutes Vixen found the book she wanted and headed back to her room. She sat on her bed for a while trying to read though soon gave up and just set the book aside. "Why do I feel this way? It's like every time I think about him I want to smile... It feels really stupid... and it's stupid of me to think like that... he's a demon... he would never like even a tainted angel like me...." she huffed and Sinz sighed a bit. "It seems like you had gotten used to the idea of marrying him before... you were okay with it it seemed... maybe you feel this way because there's no one else here that looks at you like a real person? I mean, the maids do but that's really all other then the chefs... maybe it's because you're lonely." she said softly and Vixen's sighed a bit and curled up in a ball on her bed. "But it's stupid... he's a prince and now I'm his slave... and an angel... I shouldn't feel this way at all." she whispered softly and felt a slight tear come to her eye as she thought of that.

After a while, Valefar sighed. "I...I should go see her right?" he asked himself. "I mean, she's my slave and I need to make sure she's okay. Well you know, I'll just go and take a look...and..." he trailed of and quickly stood up. "I have no idea what I should do at this point. I'll go check on her...not because I feel anything for her, but because I need to make sure the workers are fit to work again..." he said and nodded. "Yeah, that's the reason.." he said as he walked back inside and headed to his room. "Charlie you just relax here, I'll be back in a bit." he said before placing Charlie on his pillow and leaving his room. "Okay...let's go check on her Valefar.." he whispered to himself before heading over to Vixen's room.

Vixen looked up and at her door as she heard someone coming and whipped her eyes before pulling the cover over herself and laying normally with her book.

Valefar soon walked inside after knocking and stared at her. "Hey..." he said as he closed the door behind him. "How...how are you feeling?" he asked quietly as he leaned against the door and looked at her. "I'm glad to see you're relaxing. Although, you were walking around for a bit weren't you?" he asked and pointed to the book she was reading.

"Hey... and I'm okay, allot better actually." Vixen smiled a little putting the book mark in her book then set it on her lap and nodded some. "Yeah I went to get a book to read, I finished the other that I had grabbed yesterday I believe." she said softly smiling a little.

"Well it's good to know that you're enjoying our books." he said and looked down at the floor before looking at her again. "I came here to just check up on you...I take it Sinz told you the little talk I had with my parents a while ago?" he asked and frowned slightly.

"Yeah... I'm sorry I'm causing you so much trouble..." Vixen said softly then looked down at her lap a little still feeling kinda bad about that.

"You're not causing trouble, my parents are. They'll use anything they can to start a fight." he said and sighed. "It's obvious they don'[t love me...they probably never did. Maybe that's why they never cared for me." he started. "Maybe that's why Eofe was in charge of me...they didn't want to take care of me so they had someone else do it. I told Sinz that Eofe was the on;y person who cared about me...but she tells me otherwise and it surprised me because I find it hard to believe." he said and sighed. "You're not causing any trouble though Vixen...and yes my father wants to kill you it's obvious but I'm not going to let him." he said and smiled a bit.

"Sinz is right... I care... and so does Souls and Sinz as well even though she doesn't show it much... it's not right for parents to hate their children but unfortunately it seems we've both encountered that." Vixen said softly though did smile a little at him when she said that she cared about him, as odd as it sounded since he had been so mean to her before, she still cared.

"I'm sorry...I made fun of you saying that your parents hated you, thinking that mine loved me only to find out they they hated me." he said and smiled. "I'm glad to hear that people care about me though." he added and looked at her gently. "Like I said...I'll make sure that no one kills you, and for that to work, you shouldn't be outside unless you're with me." he instructed. "I'd prefer you not to go outside at all; but if you must, please tell me that way I can accompany you." he explained. "Anyway...I...I should probably let you read now. I'll be going then." he said quietly and turned to leave.

"It's okay... I never really though that you made fun of me... and I always kinda knew my parents hated me... and you're not bothering me by talking to me... I like talking to you, besides I've read this book three times already." Vixen said then laughed a little at the end and gave Valefar a kind smile..
