"Yes you did. Don't you know you can't fly when you get spooked?!" Vixen said with a bit of a sneer then listened to him and sighed heavily as she pulled out her wings again though you could tell she really didn't want to. On the backside of them there were marks and scratches and scars showing that something had happened to them on several occasions.... almost like something had hit them or something... the marks were even clear through the luscious red-ish pink feathers.

"I wouldn't know, I never flew before and have no intention to do so." he explained and examined her wings carefully. "Something happened to your wings...they look scarred." he said then looked at her quizzically. "Were you beaten a lot as a young girl?" he asked. He was honestly curious...he wanted to know what exactly she had gone through in her own home.

Vixen looked away hearing his question and the look on her face was rather dark. "Yes.... those are from every time I pulled out my wings in the angel kingdom... every single time... if I ever pulled out my wings when I was in public, even just to stretch them, someone would notice and throw things at me.... that's why I don't pull out my wings... at one point it got so bad I couldn't leave the castle anymore with or without my wings out..." she said softly her wings folding to her back a bit but not vanishing. She had a very good reason for not letting anyone see her wings... she was afraid it would happen again... even though she was in a different kingdom altogether...

"Oh wow..really now?" he asked and frowned slightly. He almost felt sorry for her...but not really. "Well I'm sure they had their reasons for it...and if not well they were crazy I guess." he suggested and shrugged. "I won't lie...the color is beautiful.." he said and looked at her, for once...his gaze was calm and not cold or angry. "No one would hurt you here...then again, my parents would." he said and chuckled. "It's no wonder you hide them." he added quietly.

Vixen actually blushed a little when she heard Valefar and looked at him a little surprised. "You... really think so?... thank you... no one's ever said that before..." she said softly giving a slight smile then paused and shivered some looking down her smile gone. Would his parents really hurt her just because she had came from the angel kingdom? Even though she wasn't a full angel? Or was there another reason they didn't like her?

Valefar saw her blush and smile, which caused him to smile slightly. "Well I don't know why they didn't. Maybe they were too shy." He suggested and smirked. "You know, your blush is the same color of your wings..." he teased and looked around then down at the book in his hand. "Did you know that my parents loved eating angel meat?" he said quietly. "I'm not sure if they still do...I'd be careful around them if I were you, and best keep your wings hidden." he said with an evil grin.

Vixen blushed brighter when she heard Valefar and didn't understand him right now. Why was he being kinda nice to her? And complementing her? She thought he hated her.... if he did why would he say such nice things to her? She thought over that for a second then was shocked and made a slight 'eep'ing nouce when she heard him. "Gah! You're so mean! First you act nice towards me then you try and freak me out by say that?!" She huffed as she crossed her arms and looked away not sure which of those he had been messing with her on....

Valefar laughed at her reaction and shook his head. "Silly Vixen. Being mean is what I do, it's natural for me to be. Being nice...now that's tough." he explained and raised an eyebrow. "If you don't believe me...are you willing to risk it?" he asked as he walked over to her. "Are you sure I'm trying to freak you out by lying? Or am I freaking you out by telling you the truth?" he asked. "Have you taken into consideration that maybe I'm warning you?" he added.

"Well then I guess it's a good thing I'm not a full angel isn't it? And besides, if it were the truth wouldn't I have already been gobbled up?" Vixen pointed out with a small grin as she stood and her wings pulled in. "hm... now if my parents could manage to be so cruel while they were pure angels I'm sure you could manage to be nice even though you're a demon." she grinned teasingly before turning to the side and dusting the bookshelf again without pulling out her wings to float.

"Wrong. You see...even though you think you proved me wrong, you're my slave." he explained and smirked. "You belong to me, mother and father wouldn't ever touch my things." he assured. Listening to her he shrugged. "Vixen, you think I can be nice?" he repeated and tilted his head to the side. "Maybe...but it seems tiring...I'll just be mean, that's much easier. Who knows, maybe if I throw nice comments here and there...being nice will be easy too." he replied. "Have you found a book you'd like to read yet?" he asked her.

Vixen grinned a little and shook her head at what he said not caring at the moment that he pretty much just called her a 'thing' instead of referring to her as a person. "Oh I just came in here to clean... I already have a book that I'm reading when I'm not busy... though as of right now it seems I'm always busy... taking care of Eofe and making sure that everything is as clean as she would have it." she said softly then sighed and turned towards the door. "Speaking of Eofe, excuse me but I need to go check on her." she said softly as she walked to the door though waited to see if Valefar had anything to say before she left the room.

"Well you're doing a pretty good job so far." he said and frowned when she mentioned Eofe. His expression visibly changed and he looked both sad and hurt. "Right....Eofe.." he said and walked away from Vixen as he hid behind a bookshelf and began to read the book silently. Eofe will get better... he thought to himself.

Vixen looked back when she heard Valefar then walked out of the room and down the hall to Eofe's room. She knocked softly before peaking her head in to see if she was asleep or not really not wanting to disturb her if she was.

Eofe yawned and looked over at Vixen. "Ah, Vixen here...take the empty bowl to the kitchen. All I want is a refill on water, and the lights off. I want to sleep but have something to drink if I wake up." she explained. "Oh, and please keep the fan on, it's hot in here..." she whispered.

"Of course... do you want ice in your drink this time so it'll still be cold when you wake up?" Vixen asked as she walked over and changed the cool rag on Eofe's forehead then gathered the glass and bowl on the tray after turning off the lights and making sure the fan stayed on.

Eofe said nothing but nodded before coughing into her apron. With the lights now off, the room seemed even more depressing than before. It actually looked scary if you thought about it. Valefar yawned and decided he should go to bed now. Holding the book in his hand, he quietly walked out of the library and headed out his room. His parents were sleeping, and the maids were just finishing up cleaning before they could head off to bed.

Vixen quickly went off to get a fresh glass of water with ice in it and brought it back to Eofe before looked around the room a little and noticed how down it looked with no lights on though knew there was nothing she could do about it. "I'm about to go to bed so is there anything else you need before I head that way?" she asked softly with a kind smile

Eofe shook her head. "The water is all I need Dearest, thank-you.." she whispered and coughed loudly. "Good night Vixen..." she whispered and tried to sleep. When Eofe coughed, Valefar was able to hear it and frowned. "She's getting worse each day it seems.." he said to himself as he walked into his room.

"Okay then... sleep well Eofe" Vixen said softly and felt kinda bad as she left the room as if she shouldn't leave her like that... but if she wanted to be left alone then it was her choice and she would listen. She then headed to her room and got changed into some night clothes before curling up on her bed and falling asleep quickly.

Valefar noticed that his Violin was still out on his bed. Sighing, he carefully pit it and the bow away in the case before placing the case under his bed before getting dressed in some sleeping clothes and hopping into bed. As much as he tried, Valefar couldn't sleep. He would continuously wake up frightened from his nightmares he was having. It wasn't until when morning Finally came, that Valefar was finally able to fall to sleep. However, his sleep wasn't long before he heard a knock on the door. Groaning, he got up and opened the door to see a maid. "Yes?" he asked with a sleepy voice. "Sir, your parents want to talk to you." she said. Sighing, Valefar followed her to where his parents were.

After a long night of not much sleep Vixen slowly sat up in bed when she saw the light shining into her room, as dim as it was here she knew when morning light was. She slowly got out of bed and stretched a bit before getting dress and fixing her hair then walking out of her room. She looked around and noticed that all the maids seemed to be more down then they had been in the last few days and wondered what was going on. She slowly started to walk down the hall to Eofe's room though as she went she noticed either harsh looks towards her or sad ones and just couldn't figure out why.... had something happened while she was asleep to make everyone turn so cold towards her all of a sudden?

"Shut up! Both of you are Lying!" yelled Valefar. All the maids frowned as they heard Valefar yell. They knew it was going to be hard on him to accept that Eofe died. Eofe lay in her bed, dead. The glass of water was half empty...meaning she was up during the night to drink some. "Want to see her?" asked the Queen to Valefar. "What kind of sick question is that!" he snapped. "Silence! I won't have you talk to your mother that way!" bellowed the king. "Eofe isn't dead! You are both Lying!" he cried.

Vixen heard the commotion and glanced at Eofe's room. She covered her mouth when she saw that Eofe wasn't moving and heard what Valefar and his parents were talking about. She felt sick knowing that she had pretty much been the reason Eofe died... that was probably why everyone gave her dirty looks. She cursed herself for not staying up... for not staying with Eofe that night... for not taking better care of her, when in all honesty she had done more then most could for her. The only thing she could do now was do the best she could at taking over Eofe's chores and make sure that Valefar was okay... but she would wait till he wasn't talking to his parents to do so.

Valefar stormed out of the room and walked over to Eofe's room, causing all the maids to bow their heads as he passed by. Peaking in, Valefar felt that his life cracked into pieces. "Eofe?" he said quietly but didn't dare enter the room since he was afraid the illness was still there. It was obvious to him that she really was dead, and it was killing him inside to realize this. "Eofe?" he said again as his voice cracked. He couldn't let the maids see him cry...but he couldn't help but let the tears fall down his cheeks.

Vixen looked over to Valefar then glared at the maids and sent them the sign to shoo and leave him his privacy... which they actually listened to the silent gesture and all left. "I'm so sorry." Vixen said softly resting a soft hand on Valefar's shoulder for a second before moving away unsure if he'd even want her close right now. So instead she turned and started to walk back down the hall with her head hung trying to hide the tears that she could feel filling her eyes. She felt awful but not just for the fact that she felt it was her fault... also for the fact that Eofe had became her friend and it was just so sad that she had died in such a way.
