Sora huffed a bit as she walked down the sidewalk in front of her new house. They had just moved from the inner city to the coast where her father apparently got a job offer... well a promotion really. He was in the air force and apparently where they had been living wasn't close enough to the new port where the planes were being loaded so they had to move.
Sora didn't have very many friends back where they had been living though did have one she knew she would miss... well at least they could still keep in contact... and living right next to the beach would probably be nice. "Yeah... a new year in a new school... but I'll probably still be the weird kid." she muttered to herself as she finally made it to the dock and plopped down staring at the water boredly.

Ryūjin was walking home from school with some of his friends from Sea Coast High, the day school he went to. He waved bye to them as he neared the dock. He paused frowning as he saw the girl who was sitting there. "Great..." He muttered a bit as he walked closer clearing his throat when he was behind her, "Hey are you new? You should be careful at his dock...it's not safe..." He said.

Sora jumped a little when she heard a voice and foot steps behind her. She then turned and stood looking at the male. "Hm? Oh yes I'm new here... my fathers in the air force and got transfered here. And the dock doesn't look that bad... why do you say it's unsafe? She asked softly as she look down and around though the dock looked safe to her. "Oh... I'm sorry I didn't even introduce myself. I'm Haku Sora, like I said I just moved here, down the street a little bit actually." She said with a small smile.

"Right...well they don't look like it but the dock is actually pretty rickety...it should have been condemned years ago..." He said looking at her with a frown, "I'm Ryūjin..." He said looking at her, "Nice to meet you Sora..." He said nodding at her, "I live within the area...you'll probable be going to Sea Coast High right, so I'll probably see you around..."

"Oh... hm... well okay if you say so, but why are you out here if it's not safe?" Sora asked softly then smiled a little "Oh yeah I start there tomorrow." she smiled lightly though was still a bit curious as to why he would be heading to the dock if it wasn't safe.

"I came over to warn you figured that if you were new no one had warned you yet..." Ryūjin said as he looked at the setting sun, "You should head home now it's not safe to be near the ocean after the moon comes out..." He said his expression unreadable but filled with warning. He hopped she heeded his warning and went straight home he didn't want to have to explain anymore to her tonight he need to start heading home before the moon really did show up.

"O-okay?" Sora said softly before she started to walk home unsure of what to make of that but would listen... after all he had lived there longer then her. She just hoped that she got to meet him again tomorrow at school... which really she wasn't looking forward to.

Ryūjin sighed in relief as she waked away, "Thank gods.." he muttered once he was sure she was far enough away. Pausing for only a moment longer Ryūjin dived into the water and quickly began to swim home not aware of the splash he made as he dove it. He was in a hurry after all he didn't have time to make his dive perfect.

"Hu?" Sora looked back when she heard something that sounded like a splash then realized that Ryujin wasn't on the dock anymore and that really kinda freaked her out though then again he could have just walked faster then her and went somewhere else. She then just gave up and walked back home where her parents already started to bombard her with questions. She answered most then grabbed a snack before heading to bed wanting to go to sleep early so she would be rested for her first day of school

Ryūjin swam as fast as he could to his underwater home. He really didn't want to be late for his night classes. Eventually he got there right on time for classes to start. They lasted for most of the night that day leaving him with little time to rest before classes started at his day school, on the surface. Early in the morning he set off for the surface school. He pulled himself on to the dock working quickly to dry off as his tail vanished changing into a pair of legs. He sighed as he picked up his waterproof pack and began walking to school.

Sora yawned as she woke up and headed to the kitchen after brushing her hair and getting dressed. She made sure her lunch was ready and her overloaded back pack. She then went to brush her teeth before leaving. Everyone else in the house was already either gone of still fast asleep. Her brother was still looking for a place of his own and her father always left early for work. It always left her kinda lonely in the morning, leaving without a good-bye or anything.... "Oh well... hopefully my first day in school will be better then my first morning here." she sighed as she headed towards the school then looked ahead and saw that boy again... Ryūjin. He must really live close to here... She thought softly before just looking down at the ground with a heavy sigh.

Ryūjin looked behind him as he walked smirking as he saw the new girl. He checked his watch before pausing, "Hey Newbie hurry up..." He called looking at her. What was her name again Sonar? Sonja? Something like that. He frowned humans always had weird names like that. He'd just ask her again, besides she was new it wasnt' like he was expected to remember her name right?

"Hm?" Sora looked up again then sighed and sped up her speed a little to catch up with Ryūjin "My name is Sora not 'newbie, Ryūjin.... but since we only met once and not for very long at that I don't really expect you to remember my name.... no one did at my old school." she murmured looking at the boy with a slight frown before looking at the sidewalk ahead of her trying to make sure she stayed steady with her back pack on. It was completely full... she would need to figure out what she could put up in her locker and what she could just keep at home when she went to classes today.

"Sora right...I'll try to remember that..." He said shrugging. At least Sora is closer to normal it's almost a name that we would use. He thought as he walked along, "You really don't need all that stuff in your pack..." Ryūjin said chuckling as he looked at her struggle to walk, "They aren't big on homework and if you have a freeperiod at the end of your day like me you can get most of it done..." Ryūjin pause as they neared the school.

"Well... I've always learned to bring what I'm told on the first day... especially if I start after everyone else. That way I can ask all my teachers what I can just keep at home... I like doing things that way better I guess." Sora smiled some as they walked and she soon realized that Ryūjin had paused for a moment and looked at him. "What's wrong?" she asked softly since the school was just a little bit away.

"Clouds...do you know if the uh whats it call weather channel that's it...do you know if it said it was going to rain?" He asked frowning as he looked at Sora, "I mean I feel like it is but what did the people say..." He asked looking at her with a frown. He really hoped that it wasn't going to rain. He hated Rainy days it made staying human really hard.

"Hm... well one channel said we had a 30% chance of rain though allot of humidity.... and yet another one said we had at least a 50% chance of rain... You know I'm not from around here so I don't know which one was more reliable... sorry." Sora said softly as she looked at Ryūjin wondering why he was worried about rain.

Ryūjin sighed frowning, "Great...PE is always indoors when it rains...swim classes..." He groaned, "Anyway i guess it doesn't matter..." He said as he continued walking to the school, "Allright i'll see you around Sora..." He said as he headed off to his locker getting the books he needed for his first class.

"Okay... have a nice day." Sora said softly and politely before heading to the main office. "Welcome to our school Ms. Haku Sora, I am the princible Mrs. Marta, it's a pleasure to finally meet you. Have you already settled into your new home?" The Princible asked with a soft smile and Sora gave one back though then sighed. "Not really... it's hard to get settled... though I have already met someone from here... he seems nice enough." she smiled a bit then continued to talk to the woman for a few minutes before someone started to show her around and to her classes. History first.... one of her least favorite classes.

Ryūjin sighed as he sat down in his history class next to his friend Kairyū. "Hey...how were the tides on your way in?" Kairyū asked looking at Ryūjin.

"Not bad..." He replied with a shrug, "The new girl said that the chance of rain is 45% averaged anyway...then again they are humans..." Ryūjin frowned, "I hope it doesn't rain...it sucks when it rains..."


Kairyū nodded in agreement, "Hey is that the new girl?" He asked as Sora appeared out side the door. Ryūjin nodded as he looked over. Yep it was definitely new girl Sora.

Sora spoke to the person that was taking her from class to class for a moment before the teacher was pulled and within a few minutes both Sora and the teacher walked into the room. "Class this is Haku Sora, she is a new student here, please give her respect." He said softly then told Sora where she would be sitting and pointed out the chair. It was a few places away from Ryūjin and his friend though where she could clearly see them both. 'Well.... I guess I could have just asked him his schedual.... I didn't think about that though.' she sighed mentally before she heard the teacher start teling them where they would be reading today and filling her in a bit on what they had been doing.

Kairyū grinned looking back at Sora until the teacher yelled at him to pay attention. Ryūjin chuckled as he sent Sora a small smile before he began to take notes and whispering to to Kairyū about how ignorant humans were about their own history. The class seemed to stretch on for forever. Finally the bell rung and the two boys hurried to gather their things up to leave for second period.

Sora kept noticing Ryūjin's friend staring at her until the teacher said something to him. It made it a little hard for her to concentrate but she did so anyway. After class she went up to the teacher to talk to her for a moment before smiling and meeting the girl that she would be fallowing to her next class wondering if her and Ryūjin would have any other classes together.
