He stared at Nate for a long while. So Ebony was behind this, huh? He looked down at the knife. "Put the knife away... and I might... But as long as you are waving that shit around you aren't getting anywhere near her. Ebony and her company are more dangerous than we ever could be... I told you I didn't harm her... and I keep my word... As a Donavon."

Nate took the knife by the blade and threw it. "Take me to her. And Ebony is helping me. And how am I to believe a word you say regarding Sophie? How do I even know shes alive. Take me to her. Now, wolf. Or I will tell Jerry to have at you." He tched and crossed his arms, waiting.

"You don't scare me... Neither does your friend Jerry. The only reason you are still alive right now is because Sophie cares for you." He said before pushing past him and walking up the stairs. When he was at the top of the stairs he turned around and looked at Nate. "You touch her... I won't hesitate to kill you. Understood?"

Nate stared at him, not a bit amused. "Ebony is more powerful than you may think, so is Jerry." He eyed him as he walked past and followed him up, leaving his knife at the bottom.
"Understood. Unless she touches me first and wants to come with me. Then you dont do or say a word to her. You are nothing but a pathetic dog to her. A pet. Something she always wanted." He said sourly. In the house they stayed in, Landlords rules, no animals. That hurt Sophie to the bon since she loved animals so much.

"..." He didn't move for the longest time before he went to his apartment. The look to kill the man was evident on his face, but instead of making a move to strike him he turned towards the door. "Sophie... It's me, Kale..." He said quietly. "I have Nate with me..."

Jerry eyed them as they emerged from the stairs. He sat, leaned against the wall smoking a cigarette. The bodies of the slain and blood lay about, scattered all over the hallway. He nodded to Nate, Nate nodded to him, letting him know all was ok.

Inside the apartment, I had fallen asleep on the couch. Peaceful, smiling, relaxed, I had my knees to my chest and arms tucked in, sleeping soundly. It was well pay 9pm by this time.
Nate followed him and heard Kale announce I was here with him. No response. Nate whispered to him "This some kind of joke? Is she even in here or are you mucking with me?"

"Yes... She is. She is probably just asleep." He said before twisting the doorknob hard enough to break the lock and used his shoulder to open the door, breaking the lock on it. "Sophie. Wake up!" He said, not shouting but he was loud enough to startle the dead. "You're friend Nate is here."

The loud sound of the door breaking in, I jumped up, falling off the couch. "OOF" I said, landing on the floor and I looked up at Kale, his hair messy from the fighting and running.
"Kale!" I smiled. As quickly as my smile appeared, it disappeared as Nate stepped out from behind Kale to see her.
"Soph... you're alright" He said, with a sigh of relief, a smile and a sniffle. I looked to him, puzzled, a deer in headlights, and stood up. "Whats going on? Why are you here, and covered in blood?"
Nate looked down at his shirt and forgot about the wolf he had slain earlier, shaking his head. "Nevermind that. C'mon, Ive come to take you home with me, away from this place. You'll be safe." He reached a hand out towards me. I shook my head, stepping back.
"Nate... I am safe here." I kept my hands at my sides.

"I told you 'Hunter'... I haven't touched her..." Kale said stepping aside to glance back at Nate. "I swore to you when I left, I'd protect her. Now protect yourself... get out and don't associate yourself with Ebony any longer unless you want to end up a corpse on the side of the road..." He growled. "Take your Jerry with you..."

My eyes widened at what Kale has said and I looked stunned at Nate.
"You're... a Hunter? With the vampires and Ebony? How... how could you turn so cold?" Nate stared at her.
"Sophie... hes a beast, hes waiting for the perfect time to pounce, to kill your, or turn you into a werewolf." I furrowed my brow at him.
"Youre being ridiculous. They don't have the power to do that. And Kale would never hurt me, hes my friend." At least I dont think they do; Kale failed to mention that to me if that were the case. I looked to the floor.
"I... can't believe you sided with Ebony. Shes the reason why I had to move out. Her 'Hunters' kidnapped Tina from the Cage, and were beating, torturing and even killing werewolves and dogs. Then she torched the place to hide the evidence. How... how could you side with someone like that? Knowing how much I love animals and all... and you claim to love me? You really don't; you don't even know me.... Kale and the wolves are not monsters... YOU are. Now get out, and leave me alone. I... don't love you. I considered you a friend... until now. Leave me alone."
Nates eyes widened at what she as just told him. "Ebony... was keeping the wolves locked up to protect her clan and family. She told me they killed her real family...theres no way shes behind your friends kidnapping."

Kale laughed at that. "She told you that? And you believed her?" He shook his head, "You are gullible. More gullible than I had ever imagined possible. I bet she told you that all Vampires wanted was world peace and to hold hands and sip blood from a teacup too." He said with a half laugh. "Listen Nate.. Get out... before you dig yourself a deep deep grave, because if I see your mug here again, I'll chew it off." He huffed shoving Nate out the door. He turned to look back at Sophie. "Soph you aren't safe. Hide... and keep hidden. If ANYONE comes in here again and it's not me... don't say a word, don't make a peep. Because chances are, they won't be friendlies. Got it?" He said shoving Nate back again.

"DON'T TOUCH ME!" He shoved Kale back. "Sophie, please, I love you, I did all of this, for you." I sat on the couch and put a blanket around myself, tears fell from my eyes. I felt like my world was falling apart.
"Just go.. please stop..." I said, not even looking over. "Kale... please be safe." I said to him.
A smaller wolf jumped from the side of Kales door as Nate came out and jumped onto Nates neck, crushing his windpipe and jugular vein in its jaws. Its light brown fur was fluffed and was growing immensely. Without a weapon, he had no way to fend it off. He put his hands on the wolfs ears to pull it off but to no prevail. I heard the growling at the door and jumped up.

"NO!!!" I yelled sobbing. "KALE, MAKE IT STOP!!!" I yelled at him as Nate fell to the floor.

Before Kale could even react to the wolf a single shot was fired and the wolf fell off Nate, whimpering, bleeding from the shoulder.

"Nate! You ok kid?" Jerry yelled from halfway down the hall with the smoking pistol.

"SOPHIE GET BACK INSIDE!" He said as he went to the wolf and held it in his arms. "I got ya... it's okay... Why did you go and do something like that...?"
A gun cocked behind Jerry as Dameon held a gun up to his head. "Put the gun down and Don't move... My men and I already drove away Ebony and her cavalry... Looks like you two didn't mean jack shit to her huh?"

I stood back, the door was still open, but I stood, horrified as a wolf lie bleeding and Nate looked lifeless. I covered my mouth and disregarded what he said and ran beside him, placing my hand on Nates cheek.
"Nate? Nate, are you ok?" His face made no movement, his mouth agape and eyes wide, blood trickled from the corner of his lips and gushed from his neck. He lay motionless. "Nate..." I sobbed, my head down, my hair curtained my face.
The wolf whimpered in Kales arms, its eyes glassy, looking up at Kale and licking his cheek.
Jerry heard the gun behind his head and rolled his eyes, dropping his gun and putting his arms up. "She'll be back for us." He stared forward at his mate, who lay motionless on the floor at my knees, bleeding out.
"You got to see her one last time... and tell her you loved her. Its all you wanted..." he said to himself, a slight smile on his lips.

I saw Emily walk down the hallway and I looked up at her, my face wet with tears. I watched her kneel down beside him and I grabbed her hand. "Please help him... they tricked him... they lied to him... please..I've lost too many.." I weeped, looking down at him again.
Jerry just watched, hands still in the air, wanting to know how this would be done.

"..." She knelt down beside Nate.
"...You understand that if he turns rogue I will have to put him down for good right?" Dameon asked still holding the gun up at Jerry's head.
"I understand the consequences... and if Sophie wants this to be done... she will have to learn of them. So... Do you want this to be done, because once I do, it can't be undone..."

"Yes... I understand. Will this hurt you? I don't want you to be hurt... I don't want anymore pain and suffering... I feel like this whole thing is all my fault...." I said, looking into her eyes sad and worried.
"I... I only ever bring burdens, pain and sadness wherever I go..." I said, covering my eyes with my hands.
"When he comes back... I'll take him to a hospital myself. Then I will disappear for good. Like I should have a long time ago" I said to her. "I will be forever in your debt." I said to Emily.

"No... this won't hurt me in the slightest. Him however.... You won't be able to take him to a normal hospital after I do this. He will need you... here... because the change is never easy, and sometimes they won't survive their first shift..." She said quietly. She took a deep breath in, and instead of biting him she bit her own wrist drawing blood. She licked up a bit of the blood before leaning down and pressed her lips to Nate's, mixing the blood with his saliva. She pushed down on his chest restraining him, knowing that what would happen next. His body would restart, as if jump starting a battery in a car attempting to reject what she had just done. But he would be alive... and he would be human until her cells mixed and overtook his. It was a violent process that would take a full three moon cycles before he'd shift for the first time... and the first time was always the most dangerous on the newborn's body.
Kale came back from taking the wolf to their doctor when his mouth dropped. "Emily... What are you doing...?! He's a hunter!"
"He is naive... but he didn't deserve to die." she said pulling slightly away from Nate.
"So you are turning him?!"
"I have already notified Sophie with the consequences of what happens to him if he turns Rogue.... He will be put down like any other rabid animal..."

I watched closely, my eyes still watering as she did what she did. I flinched when she bit her own vein, then pressed her lips to his. How could she revive the dead? I only watched. I saw Kale return and lowered my head; I wonder if he knows that this whole thing was my fault... I couldnt even look at him.
"I'll stay with him until he turns succssfully... then I will disappear. I'm... so sorry."
Jerrys face softened merely watching the actions that took place; the turning and hopeful revival of Nate, even though he was against them and killed some of their own. Poor Sophie... it was her fault. Ebony and her gang followed Kale and her here in hopes of finding and attacking the nest; and they succeeded.

She stood up wiping the blood from her lips, before looking to Dameon.
"Did you have to kiss him?" He muttered glaring at Nate.
"Don't be an idiot..." She grumbled before she turned to look at Sophie. "If you choose to leave that is up to you... but Nate will be welcomed into this pack like family... Just like you." She said, patting Sophie's shoulder.
Kale stood behind Sophie before placing a hand on her arm. "Are you alright...?"

Just as Emily stood, Nates body jolted, his eyes blinking and he was gasping for a breath. He coughed and rolled onto his side, moaning. His blood had stopped falling from his wound.
"Yes... hopefully Nate will get used to being a werewolf and he wont hate me for allowing something like this to happen to him..." I folded my hands, my eyes half open, just watching him regain consciousness.
The touch of Kales hand made me flinch and I looked up at him, teary eyed. "Yeah.. I guess.." I said, sniffling. He would never understand how I feel...
Nate looked over at me then Kale who was touching my shoulder and he muttered, "hands off her, mutt..."

Emily gave a thoughtful nod before she turned to look at Nate. "Don't push the wrong buttons kid... You're still in my domain without your boss..." She growled before walking away with Dameon.
Kale ignored Nate, "Are you sure...?" He asked, letting go of her shoulder to give her some space.

I waved to Emily as she walked off. "Thank you.."
I looked down at Nate whos neck was still pretty ripped apart, but looked to be getting better. I sighed and looked up to Kale. "Yeah... now that this has happened to him, I have no choice but to care for him." I sighed and Nate looked up at me.
"Jeeze, sorry im such a burden on you, Princes.." I furrowed my brow and stared down at him. "YOU STARTED THIS MESS, IDIOT!" I sighed and wiped my face off on my arm.
"Kale...I promise, once a room opens, Ill be out of your hair and i'll take this pitiful guy with me, so we wont bother you anymore." I said, standing up and grabbing Nates arms to help drag him inside Kales place.

Kale watched as the wound on his neck started to heal up already before watching her help him in. He stood there for a second, not wanting to go into his own house...
He finally turned and walked away from the apartment to go and check on Yuffie in the hospital.

A couple of minutes later, he stopped at the door and watched as one of the surgeons pull out the bullet in her. He knocked to announce his presence before entering into the room. "Hey..." He said simply.
