"Not that I can think of," Aislin replied. "It's not a big place."

"Okay." Sabine shrugged. "Let's look around again."

Aislin nodded and went with her sister.

Cadr, on the other hand, was looking at some of the fabrics.

"Yeah, these are really girly," he commented as he prodded the brocade.

Saif snorted. "I told you," he said. "Some of them are nice colors for women, but I'm still quite happy to not have them here anymore."

"Now the real question is: will Sabine like them?" Cadr mused aloud. The wheels in his head were turning as he pondered it.

Saif shrugged. "Who knows? You'll have to ask her." He grinned briefly. "Apparently you're both stubborn, so you've got your work cut out for you. Oh, and you better make her like you, because I told Aislin that if Sabine is still unhappy in a few weeks she can stay here, and I don't want her here. So make her happy."

"Don't want the over-protective sister getting in the way?" Cadr retorted. It was mostly-teasing. "Why did you even agree to that?"

"Because it's earning me bonus points with Aislin and it's making her happy." Saif shrugged. "I'll deal with Sabine if I have to, but you picked her."

"Wait, you suggested it?" Cadr asked, looking at him. "That's new, usually your humans have to ask before you do anything."

"Like I said, I'm trying to get this one to come to me. Besides, I'm being nice. You should try it sometime. It has some awesome results." Saif grinned.

Cadr rolled his eyes.

"I am being nice," he said. "Or I'm trying to. It's hard to tell what these human girls will like."

"So you try everything and see what works," Saif said with a shrug. "Or ask. Talk to her. She won't ever like you if you don't talk to her."

"She hasn't wanted me to talk to her," Cadr said. "It's like I can't win with her yet."

Saif shrugged. "Talk to her anyway. Or start doing little things for her. Find out what she likes to eat and get that for her, make sure she's comfortable, things like that. That seems to work."

"We'll see," Cadr mused. For now, he wanted t see how well the fabrics would go over.

Saif nodded. "Think your human would like to stay to eat with mine?"

"More than likely," Cadr replied. He glanced at Saif. "I would have thought you'd want us out of here, so you can keep wooing your human in peace." He smirked. "And so you don't find those feathers of mine you claim I keep leaving here."

Saif snorted. "I have more than enough time to do both of those things. I thought I might send your human back in the best mood possible. Give you a hint of a chance." He smirked.

"I'm not helpless, you know," Cadr retorted. He gave Saif something of a Look.

"No, you're just this side of." Saif smirked, totally unrepentant. Cadr could Look at him all he wanted.

"Key, don't you have a human to seduce?" Cadr pointed out. "You're slacking."

Saif rolled his eyes and moved off to go find Aislin again.

The weather was beautiful a few days later, and Cadr couldn't resist going for a short flight over the town. The day was warm and the winds were gentle, and he was just able to glide with very little effort at all. He stalled, however, when he noticed something amiss. There were pawprints on the ground, large enough for him to spot from the air, and they looked very much like feline prints. Almost immediately, he headed for Saif's place. Apparently, someone was encroaching.

Saif was outside in a spot of sun, discretely watching Aislin work on her garden. He looked up, however, when he noticed a shadow. Cadr. That was odd. He should have been with his human.

Frowning, Saif got up to go see what was going on.

Cadr picked a spot out of sight to change back into human form, and went to meet Saif.

"You been into town lately?" he asked his friend.
