"I'm ready whenever you are" Kiyan said softly as she spotted Adaza and made sure that her pack was secured and her swords were in easy reach.
Adaza just looked up at her after placing his note into his pack. "The area we're going is very untamed. Be careful." He simply told her as he walked to her. He wrapped his arms around her waist once more before transporting them through the shadows to the place he wanted to check out first. It was so dark it looked like it was nighttime in the middle of the day. He let her go as he looked around. He could clearly see in the dark, it was Kiyan that probably couldn't see a thing. "Can you see?" He asked her curious. "If not, hold my hand. Fire will just attract the creatures here." He told her, holding his hand out for her in case she couldn't see.
"I'm okay" Kiyan said softly her eyes changing as they adjusted to how dark it was looking more like her spirit forms eyes. She did stay close to Adaza's side though not liking the look of this place in the least. She knew she could handle allot more then she used to but knowing she had Adaza by her side to help also made her a little less on edge.
Adaza just nodded before walking further into the dark woods. He was looking for anything out of place. His eyes adjusted very quickly to the darkness surrounding them. He smiled lightly. "I haven't been in these woods since I was fourteen. When I was a orphan, I lived in these woods." He quietly told Kiyan. He missed the place a lot more than he realized. He could hear the dark dried leaves crush under his feet as he walked around in the darkness. His eyes never catching anything out of place as the walked.
"I'm kinda surprised you would miss it here, seems like it would be way too dangerous for a child... of course I'm sure you were probably tougher then most children" Kiyan smirked slightly at the end still keeping her eyes pealed for anything that looked out of place or stranger then the creatures she could spot peering at them.
Adaza just shook his head lightly. "It's not that bad if you're a creature of darkness. We dark elves are basically that. There was an elderly lycan that lives here, as well as vampires. They helped care for me, taught me to fight. The one thing they taught me has never left. Survival. That's all that kicks in during battle." He told her plainly. "I'm glad you remember that lesson, young elf. Though I don't remember you looking so... odd." Adaza stopped seeing a pale man in the dark. "Speak of the devil." Adaza turned to Kiyan and smiled softly. "Kiyan this is an old master of mine." The man looked far too young to be a master but he was far older than he appeared. "Charmed." He simply told Kiyan.
"Likewise" Kiyan smiled slightly to the male before looking at Adaza "then it sounds like you had more of a colorful childhood then I thought" she smirked slightly before looking back to the male that stood before them and could tell he was allot older then he looked.
Adaza and the vampire laughed softly. "No darling." The man said sweetly. "I beat him to a inch of his life on daily basis. As did the Lycan master master of his. We broke his bones, forced him to continue training with them. He needed to get strong. I healed him with my blood once a week, then repeated the process." Adaza just nodded softly. "Speaking of the Lycan master, where is he." The vampire shook his head softly. "Died. His pack ate him years ago." Adaza just looked plainly at his old master. "I see." He face was free of emotions as was the vampire's.
"Fun" Kiyan said sarcastically "Again why would you miss it here?" she asked plainly to Adaza, his upbringing was certainly every different from her own, she couldn't understand how he survived it all.
Adaza just looked at Kiyan. "Because it was the only home I had as a child." The vampire just nodded slightly. "We may had been hard on him, we may not have loved him but we cared enough to train the boy." He simply stated. "We even named the boy. If memory serves me correctly you took my last name and the Lycan's first." Adaza just nodded. "I did." He wasn't sure how Kiyan would react to finding out that Adaza Onovia was an name he adopted after his mother's betrayal. "Now what brings the young elf home I wonder, and with a woman no less." The vampire smiled sweetly, "Perhaps it has to do with your odd appearance." Adaza just nodded in reply.
Kiyan was surprised at this but decided to wait and ask her questions later. If that was true then why did Sepheal call him Adaza instead of his real name? and everyone else?
As if knowing what she was thinking Adaza leaned over to her. "No one knows my real name. It was forgotten when my mother claimed me dead. Sehpeal uses my adopted name to hide the fact we're related." He told her barely over a whisper. Though the vampire knew what he was saying to the woman. Adaza just turned back to the vampire. "We're looking for an old prison, have you seen one?" He asked plainly to his old master. "Ah. I believed I seen an old temple deep within these woods. Twelves miles to the east and three to the south-east." The vampire simply said to Adaza before leaving. "Good luck young elf." He called over his shoulder before fully disappearing.
"Sometimes I think you're a mind reader on top of all your other odd abilities" Kiyan smirked once the vampire was gone. "So I guess my training was nothing compared to yours" she said softly rather surprised he would take it so easy on her
Adaza just smiled softly. "Told you, you didn't know how to train correctly." He said mockingly. "I use to hit the trees till my knuckles bled. If I flinched I would get Alpin rubbed into my knuckles. It's a fruit that grows here, burns and causes blisters on open wounds." He told her plainly. "You act surprised. Why?" He asked her softly. He was curious why she seemed so surprised all of a suddenly. However Adaza just began to walk in the direction his old master told him the old temple was in.
"Well.... I know you had a rough upbringing but I wasn't expecting your training to have been so harsh as to breaking bones every day" Kiyan said then shrugged "I think many would be surprised a child could endure such trauma." she said as she walked alongside Adaza glancing around from time to time
Adaza just looked at Kiyan. "I never really knew anything else. My mother abandoned me to die. These creatures took care of me, thought me to be strong after wards. When I left, I met my late wife. She hated me also. Love was something that didn't exist until Lynia and well, you." He simply spoke to her. His past may have been harsh but it made him strong. He looked forward before speaking again. "Ibako Neteris." He spoke softly. "My birth name." He couldn't remember while he held onto it but he did.
Kiyan listened to him softly before smiling a little at his comment about her and Lynia. "I think I like Adaza better." she smiled a little before glancing around a bit more "So... from what you've read about your second great grandfather what do you think he'll be like?" she asked curiously
Adaza just shook his head lightly. "I'm not sure. The legends say he was a horrible blood lusting creature of death and destruction. Why his journal, I haven't fully read. It seemed more like instructions for his son to find him." He wasn't sure what he would find at the temple. If his ancestor was even there. "I am not sure if he is even there. However I have to try to find him, his journal spoke of things that only brought more questions. He knows everything about Reapers it seems." He couldn't bring himself to tell her about him might knowing a cure, he didn't want to bring her hopes up just for it to be broken instantly.
Kiyan listened a bit then thought some "Well he couldn't have been that bad if he was leaving the journal for his son to find him... I hope he can help." she said softly as they continued to walk and she pulled out one of her canteens taking a drink hoping to wake herself up a bit, she hadn't really gotten much sleep but she didn't let that dull her senses.
Adaza just looked up into the dark sky. It was going to get dark soon, they needed to set up camp. "It's going to get dark soon. We should set up camp. Plus you look tired anyways." He simply told her as he came to a stop in a small clearing. Adaza just turned and grabbed Kiyan's hand gently. He turned and walked back into the wooded area. "Safer in the trees." He simply told her. There were hollow trunks in some of the trees. Those were the best place to sleep, it kept the animals away. Once he found one big enough for both of him. He motioned her to enter it. It was clean, no bugs or signs of an animal living there. No fire could be made without attracting animals.
Kiyan listened and nodded fallowing Adaza but was a bit surprised when he lead her to a clearing then right back into the forest. Once they found a large tree she easily unfastined her swords and climbed in making sure she could still get to them. She then got settled and pulled out some food eating a bit of it while she thought. "This place is like the exact opposite of the forest of beginnings.... well except for the danger" she pointed out smirking a little at the end.
Once Kiyan was inside the trunk of the tree. Adaza took out a dagger, cutting into the tree a little so it's sap could block their scents. The sap was black in color and had a foul odor unlike anything else. He went into the tree trunk and settled down. Cleaning off the dagger before placing it up. "That is because my clan represents darkness, death and agony. We thrive in it. It's only natural that our version of the forest of beginnings fit us completely in darkness. Our spirits live here. In the very center of this forest is an island surrounded by a black lake. It is the island of hungry ghouls. That is where my master is sending us." He smirked softly. "How well is your stealth? Only one kind of weapon can kill the creatures there, and those weapons are buried deep within the island's temple guarded by a very demonic creature." He told her plainly.
Kiyan waved her hand in front of her nose when she smelled the sap but then just listened and nodded a bit before smirking a little "In my spirit form I can go invisible." she offered with a smirk
Adaza just nodded lightly. "Good. Let us hope they won't smell the life emitting from you. It's been awhile since I been there. My memory is a tad rusty with those creatures." He told her plainly. Even though they were in the dark and hidden from the woods. Adaza never took off his cloak, his hood still hid most of his face. However his red eye was glowing more brightly in the darkness. Adaza just took out a small bottle of the potion from Renia and drank it. It smelt far better then the sap surrounding their hiding place. The sad part was he missed the smell of the sap. He felt at ease here, maybe from the darkness. That he classed this place as his first home. He wasn't sure why really.
Once Kiyan finished eating and drinking a bit she put away the food and canteen back in her bag and wrapped her cloak around herself a bit more before leaning into Adaza a bit. "I hope that there is something that can be done" she said softly but knew she wouldn't leave him unless she had no choice.
