His cousin removed his hand from Adaza's chest after a while, Adaza could taste his own blood within his mouth. He just looked at his cousin, that trick was the only thing he had in common; the only family trait besides the looks. "You still hit like a girl." He told Sehpael, who was raging with angry. "You worthless commoner, you still think this is funny. I will break you, if not by pain inflicted on you then someone you care about." Adaza just huffed at him, "You already took the ones I loved, and Lynia just died yesturday from the illness you gave her while she was in her mother's womb." Sehpael looked at him in shock, his niece was dead. She was the only one in the family he adored, granted he tried to kill her before she was born. He hissed at the guards to continue torturing him before he left to cry over Lynia. The guards took him from the wall and forced him into the next room where they did everything that they could without killing him.

Kiyan started to cough after the the king left and Adaza was dragged into the next room but what surprised her was that blood started to come up and she started to cough even more spitting up blood as tear ran down her cheeks and she coughed even harsher.

It was nearly a day later when they brought him back into the room with Kiyan, they had given her food but let Adaza go without it. They had him chained up to where he could only stand, the metal digging into his skin, piercing it so his arms were red with his human blood. He had burns, cuts, broken bones and pieces of flesh missing from where they stabbed him. His black hair covered his pale face as he was forced to stand there, it was only him and Kiyan within the dungeon and he often insulted the King to keep him away from Kiyan when he did visit, which only cause him more trouble. He fought to keep his eyes open as he stared at the floor, she safe as long as she kept quiet like he told her after all they only had a month of this to live through.

"Adaza you need to stop this... please I can't stand to see this done to you." Kiyan whispered though knew that he would be able to hear her. She then started to cough again harshly and blood came up once more and ran down her mouth and hand where she kept wiping it away. No one had touched her since they had been there and her eye was starting to heal but that only showed more how pale her skin was and how sick she looked. She could hardly eat at all and every time she did she ended up throwing up and blood came up with that as well. No one knew why she kept spitting out blood and it actually worried a few of the guards for the fact that they hadn't touched her and she didn't seem to have any wounds really... she didn't even know why she was coughing up blood.

He never looked at her, instead he just sighed heavily. "I can't, Lynia would have my head if I let you get hurt." He finally looked at her, his face just as pale as hers. He had blood that covered parts of his face, his black hair dried into it. His kimono and sode were stripped before he was tortured and he was left in his black pants and boots. He had forgotten to tell her one thing before they were brought here, "I'm sorry, I forgot you are bound to me cause I transferred you some of my energy." His eyes were half closed as he looked at her, he felt bad that she could feel everything they did to him. "You can feel my pain, my hunger, and other physical emotions I can feel but I can't not with you." He smiled weakly at her, "Don't worry, they will let me rest for a week before continue." He told her trying to comfort her, hoping it would work.

"I don't care... and she won't be mad if I tell her I did it to keep them from hurting you." Kiyan said as she looked at Adaza and something unknown could be seen in her one eyes... something close to... love? "I wish you could feel what I feel right now." she whispered looking away a bit a little bit of color coming back into her cheeks showing that she was blushing slightly. "Adaza... please... I can hold my own against whatever they do to me but I can't stand to see them hurting you anymore then they already have... and even that is really hard." she said quietly so he was the only one that heard her but didn't let him see her face as her ears pulled back and down a bit showing her unhappiness.

He just weakly smiled before looking at the floor once more, "I'll be fine, I been through worse." He told her trying to make her feel better, his eyes were growing heavy with every passing second but he tried his best to keep them open. He could hear her emotions in her voice but he rather had saved silent. He didn't need to feel her emotions to know what she was feeling. "You won't die and neither will I, you'll feel the pain, you'll taste the blood but that is all. You'll heal within a day." He told her softly, it would take more then a week for him to heal after all he was human now but he didn't want to tell her that. He won't stop egging them on to torture him and only him, his cousin wasn't the smartest elf in the kingdom which made it easy for him to be easily tricked. His eyes slowly closed, he couldn't keep them open anymore. "Please... don't say anything Kiyan." Was all he could say before falling into a light slumber.

"No... Adaza that's not what I meant..." Kiyan said softly then looked over at him and frowned "Adaza please try your hardest not to fall asleep... please." she said though soon saw his eyes closing and stared down at the ground tears started to leak from her eyes from the fear and worry of loosing him.

He knew what she meant but he wasn't going to listen to her pleads. He was just as thick-headed as her. He could heard her in the distance begging for him not to fall asleep, but Adaza couldn't help it. He had lost allot of blood and was growing weaker with every passing second. He felt his body growing heavy as he begin to lightly sleep, but slowly he drifted off into a deeper sleep. The lost of blood was making him slip into a dark, dreamless rest that he tried so hard to fight. A sleep that won in the end.

Kiyan whimpered a bit as she tried to move as close as she could to the bars and Adaza, if she could only get just a little closer to him and focus she could help him with his blood loss. As she moved she knew she was close enough and slowly closed her eyes as a crimson light first came around her then moved down her body and over to Adaza restoring one third of the blood that he had lost... enough that she knew he would be okay and that he would survive and be able to heal. She then moved back feeling her body growing weak and frowned leaning her head against the wall after coughing up a bit more blood.

The king was furious upon learning that Lynia was still alive. His cousin had lied to him, though it wasn't the first time. Angrily Sehpeal stood from his desk, "Adaza, you will suffer for this." He said to no one. His guard had told him the news about Lynia when he sent for her body. Despite the fact he was the reason her mother was dead, he loved that little girl. He stormed into the dungeon angrily but Adaza was out cold. He nodded to the guards. "Wake him, now!" He hissed darkly, yet even the shocking cold water had barely any effect on the dark elf. "What is it now?" Adaza asked his cousin, he didn't care that he showed the king no respect. His energy was drained, it was hard for him to listen and say wake. His body weight pulling down on the chains rubbed his wrist raw. "You lied." He hissed at Adaza, who just looked at him weakly. "About what?" He told him plainly. "She lives, your daughter." Sehpeal spat at his cousin. He paced back and forth in anger as he glared hatefully. Adaza's blackened hair that once clung to his face dripping from the water. He sighed and rested his head against his right bicep. "I said she died, never said she was brought back." He simply told the fuming king which only fueled his anger.

Kiyan opened her eyes as she heard someone coming in and frowned even more when they woke Adaza knowing he needed more sleep but probably wouldn't get it. She moved a little without meaning to her chains rattling a bit when she heard what they were talking about and tried to keep from smirking. She hoped the man wouldn't hurt Lynia but had a feeling he wouldn't, he seemed to care about her allot for some reason even though he didn't seem to care about Adaza. Her own body was still rather weak from her having used up most of her powers and she could even feel the chains trying to take her fox but that wasn't so easy since that was more then just a power.

Adaza just sighed as his cousin yelled at him in their native tongue, ignoring the fox in the corner. He was blinded by his anger. His eyes were growing heavy and if he closed them, he knew he would be taken back within the torturing clamber. Before Adaza could ready himself, Sehpeal had phased his hand and had gripped Adaza heart. Popping noises could be heard, as if his ribs where braking within his chest. Surprised by the sudden torment Adaza opened his mouth barely, pain clearly filled his face. Extreme pain flooded him but no noise came from him. He couldn't even breath, all he could do was look down at his cousin's wrist. His cousin forcefully removed his hand from his chest, allowing him to breath. Adaza roughly coughed from the sudden chest pain to the point he threw up stomach acid. Sehpeal just watched his chained up cousin. "You think I care if you die, dear cousin?" He hissed darkly. "You're nothing but a replaceable lapdog." His said hatefully to the weak elf chained to the wall.

Kiyan cringed as she could feel part of Adaza's pain and coughed out shocked at how much Adaza could take without passing out. She knew Adaza wouldn't like it but she had to do something... she couldn't stand how he was being treated and knew he needed rest. "You underestimate.... his value... you're highness...." She stated trying not to spit at the last two words. Her voice was stiff with little emotion and almost sounded dark. She could tell the man cared about Lynia even though she couldn't understand why he seemed to hate his cousin, so if he cared about her surely he knew that Adaza couldn't be killed or she would be devastated, that must be why Adaza was still alive unless it was for the military.

The sudden sound of the fox's voice made the king turn his attention to her. "Oh, how amusing. A pet trying to protect it's master." He said playfully dark. He looked her up and down slowly in a eerie fashion. Adaza just spat the leftover vomit mixed with a bit of his blood out, he made sure it spattered onto his cousin's shoe. His eyes grew wide from the spit then glared hatefully at Adaza, who just looked at him weakly. He narrowed his eye at Adaza. He slowly made his way to him, cursing at him in their language. With his hand out, he order the guards to hand him a simple piece of metal; no bigger than a dime. Once again Sehpeal phased his hand through Adaza's chest. The pain was amplified by the piece of metal. Sehpeal slowly turned his wrist inside his chest, he smiled at his cousin before looking at the fox. His hand still inside Adaza. His smile turned into a dark smirk. "Shall we test that theory then... Fox." He hiss darkly. Adaza closed his eyes from the pain, trying his best not to scream due to the little oxygen he had in his lungs but was unsuccessful. He let what little air he had out, cause him to slowly suffocate while remaining in a deep amount of pain. His cousin removed his hand from Adaza's chest when he went limp, his chest no longer rising from breath.

The guards unchain him and toss Adaza's body onto the floor; far away from Kiyan but still in view. Sehpeal just lean on the table in the middle of the room, waiting for the fox's reaction as he kick his cousin's corpse.

Kiyan clenched her chest as she felt the pain but something felt like it snapped in her when Adaza stopped breathing. Surprisingly enough the chains they had put on her didn't quell all of her powers, at least not one. She snarled a little before her body seemed to burst into dark flames and the bindings didn't hold her slender paws so she could easily get out. She glared at the men with fierce eyes baring her fangs and letting out a hissing snarl before quickly moving over to Adaza and tried to move him away before she used her powers to try and start his breathing again it being a small task that didn't even require her focus.

Sehpeal just looked at the fox, both the guards and he himself were shocked that the chains didn't stop her transformation. The king stared at her as she tried to get Adaza to start breathing once more and what got him more was the fact she succeeded. Adaza just grasped for air first breath of air, the metal still rested near his heart. It had the same magical properties as the chains, keeping him in the human form he possessed. "How interesting." Sehpeal said looking at his weakened cousin. Adaza just weakly sat up, separating him and Kiyan before fully standing. He stumbled a tiny bit but stood. He murmured something to his cousin in ancient elvish, he spat before replying to Adaza. He looked at the fox then to the standing Adaza. "Release them." He simply told the guards, which shocked both them and Adaza. He is in terrible shape and still had a while to be tortured. But seeing how the metal in his chest was too close to his heart, Adaza knew his punishment was far more worse then a simple torture. Sehpeal looked at Kiyan once more, smirking in his cruel way before leaving with the two guards.

Once they were alone, Adaza sighed before leaning against the table. "You are as bad at listening as your brother." He simply said. He needed to rest a little before they could leave. The magic of the metal in his chest made it imposable to be removed; forcing the human form permanent. Once more, he coughed to the point he vomited onto the dungeon floor. His body shook from the pain and cold from the lost of blood. "Well this will be interesting." He told Kiyan with a slight amused tone.

Kiyan was still stiff and glaring but was shocked as Adaza stood and once the men were gone hung her head and shifted back to normal and covered her mouth as she coughed a bit then stood and looked at Adaza unsure. "what was I supposed to do? You weren't breathing.... I'm not an elf or even familiar with elven anatomy but I'm pretty sure everyone needs to breathe." she said with a frown then was shocked as she heard him and looked at him confused before realizing that he was still in human form. "What did he do?" she asked knowing that the king had done something to him for him to still be human.

Adaza took in slow but deep breaths as she spoke. Everything needed air to live, plants and beings. He weakly looked at her. "That metal shard." He spoke barely over a whisper, his strength slowly building for the journey home. "Its enchanted with the same magic the chains are." He simply told her. "Ancient Elven custom, it's a mark of shame." He looked at the table he was leaning one. "What is the weakness of races? Humans." He asked her, not really waiting for her to answer. "To be permanently made one is worse than death, in my culture." He took in another breath before standing up once more, normally he would just use the shadows to return home but now he was able to. He knew the guards would make them one so without turning to her he spoke. "Let us leave his place." He turned and left the room. Sure enough the guards had made a portal for them to leave. Silently Adaza just waited for Kiyan to pass through first, just in case they change their minds and trapped them for more torture.

Kiyan frowned as she listened to Adaza before heading through the portal feeling rather odd as she did so. She wondered some if there was any way that they could get the shard out.... or if the king would take it out at all... after all Adaza was the best warrior they had right? They couldn't just take him away from the military like that could they? Without Adaza it would be a very different war after all... of course the thought of her people getting away unharmed was bliss to her she still worried.

Once through the portal, Adaza disappear shortly after. He made his way into his room before anyone could see him. It was embarrassing being in that state. He leaned against his door and sighed in relief no one saw him. He could see himself briefly across the room in his mirror. He was covered in dried blood and dirt, cuts, bruises, even burns but that was nothing to him. The pale white skin, non pointed ears and black hair is what got to him. He made his way to the mirror and touched his face with his right hand; his left keeping his weak form up. His eyes stared at himself strangely, this really was going to be interesting. He slowly made his way to his bathroom clean himself up.

Kayo heard that Adaza and his sister was back from a maid, quickly he ran around the mansion to find them. He knock on Adaza's door but no answer came. "Adaza?" He called out wondering if his friend was inside but still no answer. He just stood there trying to figure where his sister could be so he could hound her for her health and details.

Kiyan frowned as she watched Adaza head off and slowly started to head towards her own room witch was near Adaza's and his daughter's using the wall as support since her energy had slowly came crashing down after healing Adaza. "Kayo? urh... Adaza probably won't want to be bothered for awhile...." she said softly as she started to pass him knowing she needed to get to her room before she passed out.

Kayo just looked at his sister in confusion. From the look of her, she just needed sleep. "Kiyan, what happened?" He asked following her. He took her arm and placed it over his shoulder to help her to her room. Kayo wasn't going to let her go this time without hearing the details. He waited for her reply as they made their way to her room.

He cleaned himself the best he could, his long black hair draping over his face as he stared at the floor. Adaza traced the area where the shards was with his left hand, if he tried to remove it, he would be good as dead but how could he face his daughter when being in this condition. He sat down on his bed, his legs hung over the side as set in the darkness. He sighed heavily, he was exhausted and was desperate need of rest, food and alcohol. He looked around his dark room after laying down, he debating on the choices. If he pulled it out and died than he knew Sehpeal would take Lynia, that alone made up his mind. He rather live in shame and raise his daughter then let his cousin have her. Slowly Adaza drifted off into sleep, a somewhat peaceful slumber now that he was in the safely of his own room.

"I acted without thinking that's what happened...." Kiyan sighed but was grateful for the help and easily sat down in bed once they were in her room. "Right when I was about to get up the king put his hand on my shoulder and had me stay sitting... Adaza started to antagonize him so he would let me go and I went to leave but saw Adaza about to get hit... without even thinking I moved between them so I got hit instead... after that we were taken to a dungeon and they took Adaza away to torture him... I swear it was the oddest thing... I could actually feel his pain. By the time they brought him back he was hurt badly and I managed to restore some of his blood... when the king came down later though Adaza just kept trying to keep his attention on himself instead of me... the king said he was going to kill Adaza for telling him that lynia was dead... I tried to get him not to but he put his hand in Adaza's chest but when he pulled it out Adaza stopped breathing... and they just threw him aside... i got mad and upset at that and managed to turn into my fox form and get over to Adaza and heal him... then for some reason they just let us go..." Kiyan explained quietly before rubbing her head then touched her swollen cheek before looking up at her brother feeling as though he would start scolding her for her actions.

Kayo just sat next to his sister and listened to her story. When she was finished he stood up and looked at her. "I warned you not to act or get involved. Kiyan you're lucky he is still alive..." He stopped before he rubbed his chin and took a deep breath. "Sehpeal wouldn't just let you go unless he did something to Adaza to make you pay for it." He looked at her. "He isn't that type of person." He placed his hands on his sister's shoulder. "Did you heal him in front of them?" He asked her sternly. "And what did they do to Adaza?" He just knew she was holding things back and he was determent to get the answers, hopefully there was something he could do.
