The hunter laughed at her question but didn't answer immediately. Instead he just stood there with a slight smirk on his face as some of the more bold men eyed down Harleigh and made rude gestures their way. He could tell that his date was still a bit uncomfortable but maybe she didn't know how strong she actually was. She was able to fight toe to toe with him and even slip from Saxa's grip. He had an iron like grip for a human. Genetically, he was human but certain things about him were a bit over the scale it seemed. Thanks to his parents training. He was overly strong for his size and faster than he should've been. Some people would just say a freakish athlete.

After she was done setting up the table he finally spoke, "Why are you asking me where to eat? I'm treating, so you think about it while I run this table real quick." He added a smile and a wink for kicks. Then he placed the cue ball at an angle on the right side of the table, took a few size up motions and broke. Two solids and a stripe went in and the rest of the balls were spread out pretty nicely. "Looks like I'm solids." Then the hunter cracked his neck both ways and went to work calling all of his shots.

About two minutes later all that was left on the table was the eight ball. "Told you it wouldn't take long. So where did you say you wanted to eat?" Then he shot the eight ball (expertly) into the corner pocket. "Oh and you can shoot the rest of the balls if you want before we leave." And with that he turned around and made me way over to the group of large men who had been pestering Harleigh when they first came in. Sax tapped the largest one on the shoulder, he was in the middle of a shot, and he turned around and sneered at the hunter. "What do you want cupcake?" Saxa smiled then cracked him over the head with the pool cue breaking it in half. That was before kicking him straight in the jewels that left him howling in pain, for the finishing blow. Then he turned to the other three who were looking on in shock and awe at what had just happened.

"If I catch any of you insulting her, pestering her, or in any way bothering her. . . I'll kill you." The hunter's eyes was devoid of emotion. The gaze of a true killer who wasn't afraid to hurt someone or spill blood. Then he did a slow spin around the room, "And that goes for any of the rest of you so called 'men'." Once he was facing the original three he stopped, "Now, if you'll excuse us, we have a date to finish." And with that he gave them all a friendly smile and walked back over to Harleigh, "Where to next milady?"

"Um..." Harleigh was speechless after what she had witnessed, and couldn't find her voice as her mouth opened and closed before she shut it without saying anything. No one defended her, and she was stunned that he had; on a date together yeah, cordial, polite, even playful with each other yeah but defending each other was more than she could have ever thought would happen on this date. Saxa was truly a gentleman, and maybe his parents had raised him right.

"Well I don't normally eat out at restaurants, seems pretty lame to go by yourself all the time. Unless it's Panda Express, in which case I'll look lonely as a mug every time and never care." Lee walked over to the counter and paid for the table as well as the broken pool cue saying to the smiling burly barkeep, "Thanks Mike, I'll see you at the next tourney." Taking Saxa by the hand she tugged him outside and took a deep breath, the night smelled beautiful, the sky was clear and almost devoid of the moon. She speculated that she wouldn't have to worry about much of anything while she was with him, he seemed to know how to handle himself and let her feel like a female.

"Thank you for that... I don't do well with groups of men. But back to the subject of eating, I'd rather you picked a place anyways, since you're a guy you probably know about all the good eat spots around town. Wait unless you don't live in town?" Har was kind of surprised that she had never considered before that he might be an out of towner, and would have to leave soon. It would make sense, she had never seen him here before and she knew that at least 20 Hunters did reside in the city and some just had homes here, but she didn't recall ever scoping him out. That was a bummer, if this date went well and he lived somewhere far away what was she going to do, drive to se- 'Eh! Stop right there! Don't even continue that one, you'll regret it.' She said to herself, hoping to stem the tide of anxiousness, fear, and hope blooming inside her chest, making it ache.

The look of shock on her face said it all. She hadn't expected it, and honestly neither had he. That was more of a whimsical idea. There had been the very real chance that he could've had to fight all of those men but luckily they were too stunned at his brutality to want to fight. It was a tactic. If you had a target in the midst of a large group. Take out the target brutally and efficiently and if there isn't anyone with any balls left then you'll likely be free. Not always a winning plan but it worked better on humans than vampires, that was for sure.

"I haven't eaten out but a few times since my parents died. I like cooking so I usually just cook." Saxa shrugged like it was no big deal. Which it wasn't to him. That was the life that he was used to and had come to enjoy. It's just that now, he wished that he had spent a little more time going out. Saxa gave Mike an apologetic look along with a polite nod as Lee took his hand and lead him out into the night. It was a nice night out. Or maybe it was the woman he was with that made the night feel a bit more special? Harleigh was genuine. He liked that. She was real around him and that was something he hadn;t expected. Especially not from a Dhampir who'd tried to kill him a week ago. Now that he thought about it, they were an odd pair. But who cares if it works?

"No, I don't live in town. I live about five to ten minutes south of you actually. I thought I mentioned that? Maybe I didn't. . ." He scratched his head trying to recall whether they'd talked about that in the car or not. "Well, what are you in the mood for?" Although he hadn't ate out in a while, it didn't mean he didn't know where things were. Sax didn't live in the city because it was where he did most of his work. No reason to live where you hunt creatures that can hunt you right? At least that's the way he thought of things.

"Would you mind cooking for me tonight? I've never met a man that could cook. And I don't believe you did, but I might have been lost in my own world sorry." She took a deep breath of relief as she stretched, cracking her neck, shoulders, arms, wrists and fingers in quick succession and then let it out slowly as she reached up to capture the moon with her hand. She was more relaxed now because he lived a lot closer than she had expected.

Honestly she shouldn't be feeling any kind of feelings like that about him, she was a self made woman thanks to her parents money (which she rarely ever spent), and that meant she could take care of herself for years to come. Men and woman had come and gone in her life and she was sure that it would continue to be that way, 'I mean what kind of Hunter would fall for his prey and visa versa, how could I fall for him?' It was her dream to fall in love and be loved in kind, but she wasn't sure if anything could come of this, and could she really let herself be with a man like this? One who himself had never experienced pleasures of the flesh, one who had never considered her kind as more than trash, cone who had no idea of the true harshness of life?

Again she reached for the sky tracing the lines between the stars and she danced and skipped along the street, swaying to the beat of the music in her head. Twirling and spinning, her arms and hands moving gracefully through the air, telling a story that only she could hear. Love could conquer all, love was true and passionate, everything was a culmination of somebody's love. The Earth, the sky, the stars, every fiber of human beings contained love. Suddenly she snapped out of it, realizing that she had an audience that wasn't just Saxa, she blushed and hurried to the car to wait, motioning for him to hurry too as she hadn't meant to get lost like that, and let that side of her out. "Sorry about that, let's go where ever you wanna go, okay?" she asked in a quiet, shy voice.

"Yeah I can do that. What do you want to eat?" Saxa had never really cooked for anyone before so he hoped that his talent was up to par. He'd been doing it for years now but never really gave much thought about how good he was at it. Though there was some confidence there. Saxa didn't eat nasty food and he considered his food to being close to a delicacy so that had to make him pretty decent at it right? Plus if he cooked for her he'd be saving money in the long run. Not that he didn't have an overabundance to spend in the first place but eh. He liked to save whenever he could. Not quite a penny pincher but not a big baller either.

It was interesting that the two of them were actually enjoying themselves. Was this the extent in which vampires and humans were alike? All his life he had been taught that vampires were killers but when it came down to it, Saxa knew he never killed a single vampire that hadn't hunted human's to kill. Which meant that some of them knew how to act. Some of them know how to control themselves or they were damn good at hiding it. But something about spending time with Harleigh said that the two races weren't so different. Technically, in the long run, he was no different than a vampire who hunted them down right? If everything was in black and white he wouldn't be. Thank God for the grey area.

He watched on with a silent amusement as his date went off into her own fantasy realm and danced to her own tune. She was really a beautiful woman. Even more so against the light from the night sky. Maybe that the vampire in her that it made it that way but for whatever reason she seemed to radiate now more than before. And her performance drew in a crowd. Everyone seemed to be entranced. Men and women alike. And then suddenly, she snapped out of it, dashing over to the car and demanding that I hurry over too.

I simply smiled and did as she requested. "It's not a problem. What do you want to eat?"

[ooc: You wanna switch to possessives? I, me, my?]

"Um... pasta?" she asked with excitement, her eyes sparkling in a way that turned them to liquid Mercury as she looked up at Saxa. When she did she felt a pang in her belly that had a little to do with hunger but mostly to do with desire, so she quickly turned away lest he see it in her eyes. Harleigh breathed against the window and traced an angel out, along with the words 'Ubi minime exspectes amor'. (Love comes when you least expect it.) Something her parents always told her, and she was willing to believe that wholeheartedly, but not for herself. And most importantly, she couldn't be with Saxa; the date was going well, it was fun, refreshing, but she could never be a part of his world and neither he of hers.

The world and fate were both cruel, hard puppet masters that made a fool of anyone who believed in them. She had believed in both once upon a time and look where that had gotten her. Saxa physically speaking was everything she wanted in a man, but he was the one she could never have, if nothing else because their blood dictated that they be sworn enemies, that and she wasn't the kind of person for drama and flair. Harleigh didn't want do deal with anything having to do with the whole Romeo and Juliet thing, especially after seeing where it had gotten her parents.

Almost as if battened by that memory, her defensed came slamming down in place with a resounding echo of hollow emptiness, but she was fine with that. Nothing was going to hurt her again, not even herself if she had anything to say about it. Feelings of fascination and friendship were okay, but she couldn't allow it to develop further than that, he was... innocent in a way she wasn't and she wasn't going to ruin that for him; after he had responded with a semi-depressed acceptance of her "experience" earlier she figured it would be better to end this night on a good note and then disappear.
