"Up to no good again huh Dante?" a vendor says while Dante was looking over the vendors weapons. He usual gets good weapons for little money he had. Only because he did little favors by seaching out rare items. It still didn't cure him of his lack of trust for people either. This time he was going to do a big job that no one dared to do. Because they was afraid they would get caught and put it the dungeon. Things seem to be back to normal, but Dante didn't see it that way. People was still living in hell because of the king ignoring their crys. "You know me...anyway thanks..this new kit will come in handle for my next job..." tossing a gold coin over before he walked away with a new lock pick kit that could open anything now. Especiality the royal treasure room within the castle.
For eight years he had been training himself in the arts of thieves. Learning his way around tight places and the ways of opening up hard locks. Never once in his life as he gotten caught. So he prays that this job would remain the same. This was a very tricky thing he was doing but he didn't trust anyone else to help him.And he always kept the treasures he finds to himself. Unless it was for someone else. Dante walks down the street and stops in the middle looking toward the castle wondering what treasures was waiting for him to steal. Stealing was the easy part of the job..finding away into the room was going to be tricky it depends on who was guard and what time they switch out. Best thing for him to do was to go underground that he knew of a secret passage way that would lead to the room. He just hope there wasn't no traps there. |
"Sire! Pardon me, but don't you think it's a little late to still be in bed?" A servant had asked Lucian, his piercing blue eyes gazing up from his bed sheets, "I didn't know you were the king now, Edwin," The blonde replied with sarcasm laced in his voice. He waved his hand for a second, shooing the servant away as he sat up in his bed. What time was it? Maybe it was a little late. Lucian chuckled to himself as he arose and shifted off from his bed, making his way to the washroom, "Tell my father I'll be there when I'm ready," And with that, he scurried off to the showers. A while later, Lucian came out squeaky clean and pampered from his shower. The prince had explored outside of the castle for the first time in ages last night. It was exciting, overwhelming and straight up sad to see how his people lived. Though, he wasn't the King yet, and once he was there were going to be some major changes. Casually, the blonde made his way down the ruby encrusted hallways and satin curtained windows, his eyes set on the treasure room. Yes, what was his lesson today? Right. Picking his bride to be. "Pfft," Lucian chuckled, peeking his head into the treasure room. There it was. His emerald crown that he would receive when he was crowned King, "Amazing," The man breathed, leaning against the door frame. His blue eyes caught sight of multiple guards, guarding a trap door that led to underground, the windows, and finally the door where he stood, "Your grace, good evening," The guards spoke in unison, obviously awaiting that their shift be called off so they themselves could have a hearty meal. "Men, you have guarded this room with your lives and still you don't get any bread at all?" Lucian asked, the guards not daring to speak, "Off you go then, I'll take care of this room myself," He shooed off the guards just as he had shooed away Edwin. Edwin was the man who even got him out of the castle. The blonde let out a small sigh, resting his royal bum in a comfy chair, letting his eyes rest. He never saw why they guarded it so well. None of the commoners had the strength nor knowledge to get in. |
Dante slowly moves down the passage way to the trap door. If he timed it right the guards was gone probbly to eat or whatever they do. He didn't care if they went to kiss the king's feet. Not that he knew what the king or any one else in the royal family looked like. Nor that he cared to much about the royal family who started the war in the first place. He wraps his hood around him keeping himself covered. As that was one rule learn first keep silent and never let yourself be known. And another was be swift and not get caught.
Dante moves to the trap door which had a hard lock like he thought. Openning up the kit he got he grab a few tools out and started at the lock. He had to do it quickly cause he only had about ten mintues or less to get what he came after. There had been rumors about the future king's crown which would be giving to the prince once he became king. And that really spark Dante's interest he could make big money off that crown. Click was heard from the lock which means he opened it without no problems. He couldn't get to over excited about it but it was amazing. Talk about taking candy from a baby. Too easy. He didn't understand why never tryed this before. Talk about being a chicken..geez..., Dante thought to himself.Slowly opening the door he peeks his head in not even noticing there was someone there. From what he knew he still had some time before they came back. Dante lifts himself up from the passage way and stands up. He looks around to see where the crown was. And like he thougt it was in the middle of the treasure room. "Perfect..." says as he chuckles moving over to the crown and picks it up to look at it closely. "Wow..its beautiful..." |
Lucian let out a small yawn as he continued to relax in the chair. He couldn't wait to be king. No one would go hungry, everyone would be happy and things would actually be nice for once. He never understood why his father was so ruthless... Maybe he took after his mother. The prince heard a small click, but paid no attention to it until he heard footsteps. "What on earth..?" He spoke quietly, opening an eye. In an instant, all he saw was green hair as emerald looking as the gems on his crown. Speaking of crown, the male was holding it, "Hey! Wait a second!" Lucian rose to his feet and stared at the thief as he pawed at his crown, "Sir, you do not belong here, return my crown in it's rightful place at once!" He hissed, his hand being placed on his sword's handle. Hold on.. Lucian thought, his hard facial features turning soft. He had seen this man before. Hadn't he? Yes, last night in fact. Stealing apples to eat, "Hey, wait, I've seen you before," Lucian spoke once again, taking a step towards the male, trying not to scare him off. |
Nearly dropping the crown when he heard the voice behind him. He turns around slowly still holding onto the crown. But this wasn't right...one man? guard? There was usual more than one guard and this man surely didn't look like a guard. So that somewhat good and it also left the king out cause how old this male was. So that only left the prince before him. He couldn't help but to smirk lightly..why would the prince be guarding the treasure room. Much less not have any guards with him. It was a good thing Dante wasn't an assassin. No matter how much he hated the kingdom, killing a person was far below him. And he has been in many of fights but none to the death. He just tends to leave them wounded in fights.
He rest his right hand on the hilt of his short sword. While he holds onto the crown with his left. "Sorry I don't know you..nor I want to know you. But this is mine now..." saying coldly. Clearly the words from Dante was a person who lost his trust in people. Especial the royal family who are the ones who should have spared its people long ago and now. The thief takes step back moving his hand toward a pouch. He pulls out two smoke balls and tosses them onto the floor of the treasure room. They go off filling the whole room in smoke. That was a good cover for the daring thief to jump back in the way he came and runs away with the crown in tow. |
Everything had seemed to have happened too fast the Lucian as in a second the thief was gone, smoking clearing and leaving the crown missing, "I.. Er.. GUARDS!" the boy yelled, storming out of the room and into the hallway. There were none to be found. Figures! The male growled just a bit, having to have met his father hours ago. He thought about it rationally. If he sent the troops, there was a possibility of the whole town being burnt to a crisp.
Lucian shook his head and pulled his tattered commoner cloak over him, slipping down the underground himself. He ran out into the town, placing his hood over his head. If he wanted the crown, he would get it himself. Not put the whole village in danger. Besides, no one would notice he was missing anyway. Lucian slowly crept into the village, not knowing where on earth to start looking. The best would probably get dirt on the green haired man. It was rare after all. The prince slipped into a Tavern where it seemed as if there were many thieves, sitting on a bar stool he ordered a mug, sipping it as his eyes glanced around the room, feeling as normal as ever, "Say, you wouldn't know a fellow with green hair, would ya?" Lucian asked the bar tender, who didn't reply back until after others had walked in laughing and ordering beers themselves, "Couldn't help you there, sir," He replied, Lucian sighing. Not in defeat, but irritated from his crown being stolen. It didn't surprise him in the least that the villagers were revolting to his father's sadistic ways, "Boy does the king really suck," Lucian spoke, and as if it were a common subject, many drunks and even the bartender joined in on the bashing, laughing booming the entire area from the jokes and hate that were said about the king. Hopefully this would catch the thieves attention. |
Dante couldn't believe what he had did even everyone at the tavern didn't think Dante would go thru it. So that would be the first place he would go its not like anyone would rat out Dante anyway. Everyone had the same feelings toward the king. He walks inside before hearing another male talking bad about the king. "You can say that again.." laughs before the bartender looks at Dante
"So Dante where is your prize? Or did you get caught?" Dante walks over and smirks "Right here in my pouch..but I'm not about to show it to you, Barsh" says before lookig over at the male. Dante sits down at the bar watching the male "New in town? its best for you to get out of town now...this is one place no one should be." says as the bartender gave him his usual. He takes a sip before putting the drink dwn. |
Lucian heard a familiar voice, his hood covering the upper half of his face, only leaving a view of a small smirk. Got him! He decided to play it cool and took another sip, hearing that he had it in his pouch, "No one should be?" Lucian questioned, relaxed and unamused, "How so?" He finished, his head turning slightly as the male sat next to him. He did want to hear the voice of the people are all.
"How about fer starters, we're starvin!" A man shouted, with others agreeing from the sidelines, "Oh, wee, all we do is work! work work! and for what? So that that bloody bastard of a king can feed his minions?!" Another man shouted. It was hard listening that the people thought so low of the kingdom, but it was reality that Lucian had to face. "And what of the prince?" Lucian asked, taking a huge gulp of the mug to prepare for any insults. "The poor lad doesn't know what's coming to him. The king keeps him locked away, we've aint never seen him!" The bartender, Barsh, spoke, shaking his head in disapproval. Lucian awaited for the thief to speak, tapping his fingers on the table. |
Dante stares down into his glass while listenin to the male and of course everyone else in the room. He remains silent as there was so much emotions going thru him it was hard for him to remain silent. Taking another sip of his drink before he sets it down. "Lets talk about the war he started eight year ago. That ruthless bastard..calling himself king. Putting people that shouldn't be there...riping familes apart. The guards..raping the women infront their daughters then killing them...fathers being beating killed infront of their sons..." closing his eyes. He balls up his fists in anger and saddness. He couldn't escape that nightmare. He may be strong and calm on the outside. Inside was a different story.
Everyone in the bar stop talking listening to the thief. Barsh looks at Dante before lookin over at the male "His parents was...." as the bartender could't finish his sentance. Dante rubs his head abit pushing away his glass "If the prince is like his father..then god help us." Dante replies before standing up. "So thats why I said you should leave town. As this is one place no one should live." |
Lucian still listened to everyone's complaints, but this story tore him apart inside. The pain and anger on the thief's face, no wonder he stole the crown! The boy took the last sip of his mug and stood up himself, following after the green haired thief, "I'm sorry about your parents," He began, sighing, "My fa-... The king should apologize for what he has done. I assume you I'm..." The male paused, "The prince won't be like his father at all. I have faith in him," He continued to speak with the green haired male, continuing to follow him.
"I'm new here.. I have no place to stay.." Lucian began, pulling his hood lower, "Would you happen to let me stay the night until I have the strength to leave? I've walked far to get here.. I am a weary traveler." He replied, feeling his stomach growl in hunger. He would now know what the villagers felt like in their time of need. ((Haha this reminds me of Aladdin. XD)) |
The day was long but it came with a good prize at the end. Dante heads out of the tavern with the boy following him. That was one thing he hated..people feeling sorry for him. Over his parents. But it didn't seem to bother him like when he was little. He stops and turns to the male "You speak like you know the prince..but I do not believe it until I see it." says before he starts walking again. He rubs the back of his neck alittle watching the people rushing home as fast as they could.
"Ok I'll give you a place to stay for the night..but we should hurry before the night patrol comes on the streets."says lookin at the male before he heads down a small alley between two buildings. As he knew very well what the night guardmens would do if they was caught on the street. And also having a stolen crown on him wouldn't be so good either. Who knows what they would do if they caught Dante with it. Along the way all the small businesses closed as fast they could. Mothers rushing their children off the street and inside before locking their doors. Everyone lived in fear. They soon arrive back to Dante's hideout..hopin he could trust alittle even thought it was hard for him. ---------- Post added 10-14-2012 at 11:24 PM ---------- (funny that was what I was think that this rp reminded me of lol) |
Lucian raised an eyebrow from underneath his hood. Night patrol? Since when did his father add those? Crazy what he didn't know! The man nodded and scurried close to Dante. What would the night patrol do if they found him? And ever worse, if Dante found out he was the prince. It still hurt the prince that everyone was in such fear of the kingdom. That would be the first thing he would change.
"Nice place you got here," He replied, stepping into the hideout with Dante, "Thank you for your hospitality.." He paused, not knowing where he was going to sleep or how. He had never slept without his comfy bed or safe corridors. Lucian huffed and sat down on the dirt floor, his stomach continuing to grumble, "By the way, I didn't catch your name," He questioned, slightly peering up at the male, his lips making a slight smile. That's all you could see, anyway. |
Dante removes his cloak and tosses on a chair. There really wasn't much to his hideout out but alot of stuff he did get to make it feel like home. He looks over at the male "Thanks..I guess..its not much but its like home almost." says moving over and lights the candle for light. He sighs deeply as he undoes the pouch that holds the crown and place it on the table. Removes his belt that holds all his thiefing tools and sword. Dante stretches alittle walking to the food storage and grabs a loaf of bread and dried meat. He moves over "Here..its not much but it will hold you for the night." giving half the bread and some of the meat.
After giving the male something to eat. He walks over falling on a bed of pillows. "Its Dante...Dante Silvestri" looking at the male before he begans to eat. He grabs the pouch while eatting and pulls out the crown staring at it. Dante looks back over at the male "Anyway sorry for giving you my sad little tale. I don't usual tell strangers about it cause most of the people here know what happen doing the work. But it is good some didn't get killed but it doesn't change the fact it happen. And the way I grew up." laying back "Beside if the king ever did apologize about it...there would be no one to believe him. It can't bring back the people who lost their lifes..." It was strange why he was willing to tell this male everything. But he couldn't see someone on the street when the patrol guards come on duty. No matter how much trust issues he had. |
Lucian watched the thief's movements, keeping his eyes glued on his crown. How would he steal it back? Perhaps he would wait until he was asleep and sneak off on his own. The blue eyed male continued to keep the hood over the upper part of his face, bowing his head a bit just as he received bread and meat. He took small bites of it, not saying much after that. What could he really say? "Oh, thank you," He added, bringing his knees up to his chest as he continued eating, listening to what Dante had to say.
The blue eyed male merely nodded, "Nice to meet you, Dante," he began, keeping his distance, "I'm Lucian," he finished, knowing that many in the village did not know his name for the fact he was always kept in the tower. The boy began to take bigger bites of his bread and meat, feeling somewhat filled from this dinner. Suddenly, guilt washed over him. How could just a poor man be sharing food when he, himself had little to none? Lucian crawled over slowly to Dante, holding out the rest of his bread and meat, "Don't worry about it. It only gives me a better sense of how cruel this king is," he smiled,"Here, I'm not all that hungry anyway," He stated, modestly. He would not take food from this thief any longer. "So, about that crown," Lucian started, sitting himself next to Dante, his lips curling into a smirk, "You can get a lot of gold for that, you know. Enough to buy a hundred houses," Lucian grimaced at the thought of his crown being sold, but continued to play along, "What do you plan on doing with it?" |
Dante stares at the crown not even knowing that the male came closer. He looks back over at Lucian "Lucian..hmm thats a nice name" says before setting the ground down on a pillow above him then take the food back. That was unusal most people wouldn't give back food. So it wasn't something he was used to it. "Hmm alright.." since it was all the food he had. he have to save it until tomarrow. And he puts up the food before laying back folds his arms behind his head.
He thought about what he wanted to do wth th crown since the male brought it up. And the first thing can to mind. "I want to give everything the king took..back to the people...especiality the orphans that still roam the village. Even after the war had ended..things tryed to get back to normal but it didn't as long...many died of some kind of illness..so many more children lost parents or the other way around." Dante felt tired from the long day as he lays his head back. "So maybe I can sell the crown to give the money to the others.." closing his eyes and yawns alittle bit. "Anyway you should get some sleep..I have enought room here that you can sleep here." says before he falls asleep himself. |
