Re-birth
 

Have you ever known someone without knowing them? Cried for someone you never meet? Maybe just maybe you knew them in a different life. Science has show that there a seven dimensions, what if rebirth isn't what we think it is. When a person is reborn they are born to one of the seven Dimensions. This is the story of two of the people who will travel threw several lives together, though with each life they must start over and find each other.

Age 25
Bio: Dave was alone all his life, though that's what he thought. He had an accident five years ago that put him in coma and when he came out there was no one there. He didn't remember anything, so he went on with his life like nothing happened.

Name: Diana
Age: 24
Bio: Diana went through life thinking that she was undesireable. The one time a man had shown interest in her, a happen chance meeting on the street, she had been excited. They had scheduled a date but he never showed. Now five years later, she went through life wondering if there was just something wrong with her and why the one person she felt an interest in had stood her up.

Dan walked out of the Hospital. They told him where his house was. He had no memory of this place. When he walked up to the building he though only people with money could live here. He walked up to the door, and the little call box that looked at him from the small entry way to the building. He cleared his throat and pushed the hologram "Hi I need in." he said looking down at his key. A computer voice came on. "Thank you Mr. Right." the door opened and he walked in. He looked at the key once more and the room said room 13. He looked at the doors, and realized very quickly that his room would be on the second floor. He walked up a flight of stairs, to his amazement his room was the first one on the right. He gently pushed the key into the key's hole. The door slowly opened to revile a large walkin. He was amazed at this. He walked into the large kitchen and looked at the fridge. A note on it said date at five and a number. He picked up the phone to call the number.

The late afternoon sun was shining through the window of her kitchen. Sitting there with an apple partially sliced, Diana munched away while ready the newspaper. It was a morning ritual that she had missed and badly wanted to make up for. Today had been a late start, however she had the afternoon to relax. Nothing like correcting missing her newspaper like now. As she sat at the wooden table, her tan legs crossed and propped up in front of her, her cell phone ran. Looking up with a raised eyebrow, she looked over her knees towards her phone sitting on the table. Sighing and then leaning over, she easy stretched and picked the phone up where it rested beside her propped feet. Leaning back, she flipped it over and replied, "This is Diana." It better not be another telemarketer. She had worked out to keep the phone spam to a minimum.

Dan felt his heart begin to race as he heard her voice on the other end. Something about her voice. He ran his left hand threw his dark brown hair. "This is Dan." he said softly. He hopped she knew who he was. "I need to ask you a few things, would you mind meeting me for coffee." he said. He could feel his cheek burning with heat. He really hopped she would say yes, though in the back of his mind he knew that if she did remember his, that she might now want to see the guy that stood her up five years ago. "I promise I'll show up." he said.

She blinked in complete surprise. The voice was that voice that had pulled at her heart strings. She had to get a grip and be logical. Stay in control of this... situation. Struggling for words, Diana pulled some of her long brown hair back so she could press her palm against her temple, "Dan!" This was not what she was expecting during her quiet afternoon. "I wasn't expecting to hear... from you... wow." If she was smart, she would just clip the cell phone shut. Still, her darn female side had sent her heart beating so fast. His voice. It was so good to listen to it. A selfish part wanted to see him again. It was not the logical thing to do but, "sure. Which coffee place did you have in mind?"

Dan stood up strait he hopped that his voice didn't brake. "The small one by the hospital." he said. he wasn't sure where much was, so he went with what he knew. "I'm sorry I never showed up." he said as he leand up against the fridge. He hopped she would understand when he told her what happened. "I'll be at the coffee shop in about a half an hour." he said. "I'll talk to you soon okay?" he said. Dan walked into the living room and sat on the couch and waited for her reply.

She felt her entire body straining as she battled with herself. Diana wasn't sure if it was a good idea. Still, she couldn't seem to help herself. In order to try to downplay the situation and save some of her pride, she responded casually, "Sure. It was five years ago. No big deal. See you soon." Hanging up, she stared at the phone in her hands. Not big deal? Yeah right. Turning she half ran to her bedroom where she could stare at herself in the full length mirror. "Idiot!" she scolded herself. Then shaking her head, she opened the closet to see what outfit might be best to wear.

Dan walked into his bedroom and looked at the closet he wonder what he should ware. Who was this girl. Was she someone importet, maybe there were about to get married. He had no clue, all he knew was that her voice was wonderful. Dan grabbed a black T-shirt and some nice blue jeans. He looked at himself in the bathroom mirror for a moment. His full beard made him laugh a little. It was the first time he was seeing him self. "I imagined you different." he said to himself in the mirror. "Hello Mr. Wright." a computer voice said. "Would you like a shave?" it asked. Dan nodded, and as soon as his did the computer did as he asked. He looked in the mirror. "Computer... Do you have a name?" The computer didn't reply. He shrugged and walked out of the bathroom. He then left for the coffee shop. He arrived there about ten mins early.

She couldn't decide what to wear. Her brown eyes darted from outfit to outfit. Should she wear business casual? A formal dress or suit? How about an evening dress? Jeans and a t-shirt? Pausing, Diana just stopped and closed her eyes. Memories of that day so long ago flooded through her. Standing at the stoplight... seeing the crosswalk light turn on... starting to cross... an arm wrapping around her waist and pulling her back quickly... seeing that all the lights were green and all the crosswalks open... realizing that out of those hurt that day, she was okay... looking up... seeing the most amazing guy in the world with a voice like that of an arch angel. Her memories provided her with the answer of what she was going to wear. That day when he rescued her and she offered to buy him supper as a thank you, she had been wearing blue jeans and a dark green hoodie. Quickly slipping into those same clothes, she pulled her brown wavy hair into a high pony tail and put on rose scented perfume. Checking herself critically in the mirror with her brown eyes, she nodded and headed out the door. Reaching the coffee shop with a minute to spare, she walked through the door.

Dan heard the little bells ring when someone came in. His bright blue eyes fell on the girl who just walked in. A soft smile formed on his lips. He knew her. He couldn't remember her name or the fact that he wasn't sure how long they knew each other, but he knew her face, and it was more then enough for him. He stood to his feet and waved her over to him. "Thank you for coming." he said shyly.

Seeing Dan, Diana could feel her heart speed up and blushed. Feeling very much years younger than she was, she waved and walked as gracefully as she could manage over to his table. "How could I not? I still owe you supper," she reminded him. Looking at him curiously, she let her eyes ask the question she had asked over and over again. Why? Why had he not come?

Dan couldn't help but smile. Her face was the only one he had remembered. He had felt so lost till she walked into the room. The room lite up when she walked in. Dan got up and got her chair for her. "Dinner?" he asked. He couldn't remember why the dinner. "There quite a bit I don't remember." he said softly. He walked back over to his chair, "What would you like to drink?" he asked her. Dan closed his bright blue eyes for a moment the caught her eyes with his.

She felt a bit embarrassed and silently to a chair at his table. He didn't remember them? That day? It was so vivid to her. She was too much of a girl evidently. Swallowing her sudden disappointment, she quietly replied, "I'll have jasmine tea." Jasmine was one of her favorite scents. She wore it's perfume and used it to scent her apartment. Her clothes and bedding smelled of Jasmine. That familiar delight would help calm her and help her retain her dignity. "So, tell me, why did you call me?" There had to be a point, a goal, in all of this.

Dan ordered the tea then sat back down. "Well," He looked for the right words. "From what the doctors told me... I was in a really bad acssident five years ago. I was in an coma for the five years, I just left the hospital this morning." he said biting his lower lip softly. "I don't really remember anything, the doctors said it could come back with time, but with as long as I was out they don't really have any hope of that. Your face though, and your voice, I remember both." he said with a smile. The Batista brought there drinks over to them. "Thank you." Dan said. "I saw your number on my fridge, I wasn't even sure if you would still pick up." he said. Dan felt kind of weird putting it all on the table like that.

She blinked at him in shock. He hadn't stood her up? All this time that had passed and it was like it was yesterday for him. Except that he had no memory of yesterday. She was sure that her mouth was gaping open. She couldn't close it. Out of everyone in his life, he only remembered her. Just as every night, his face was the only one she dreamed of. There was no way that she was going mad was there? That this wasn't a dream? Diana slowly reached for her tea and took a sip. Gulping, she relayed to him their only moment in time together. "We met five years ago. The traffic signals messed up and all went green. I didn't notice and started to cross the street, right outside. You pulled me back, saving my life on a day when others died. To repay you for saving my life, I offered to buy you supper here. You never came. I haven't heard or seen you since until today at the same place you were going to meet me five years ago." She kept her eyes staring into her tea. Her jasmine tea. He was a stranger. Yet she felt so drawn to him. Her feelings were the same feelings she ridiculed in others. Yet they were so real and undeniably strong.

Dan took a sip of his green tea. He didn't know that he was a hero he never would have guessed that for himself. "I... I never would have guessed. I'm so sorry for leaving you..." he said softly. He looked down at his cup. Dan felt guilty for hurting her, even if it wasn't by his own doing. He tried to remember back to the car crash, he had dreams about it, but those couldn't have been real. Dan had felt so lost walking out of the hospital by himself, but now that he was here with her he felt like he was finally home. Dan looked up form the cup and softly smiled. "I'm here now though, and I promise this isn't the last time you'll see me." he said as he reached his hand out to hers.

She wanted so desperately to believe him. Having scorned love at first sight her whole life, she felt guilty now thinking that it fit now. A part of her, a very stubborn part, wanted to push him away. Yet his calming voice, caring eyes, and soft looking hair were pulling her towards him. Worse, she didn't want to admit how many times she almost stepped into oncoming traffic out of hopes his arms would close around her again to pull her to safety. Life was lonely. That loneliness was creeping in on her. Now here he was, again, promising to be around. It was too good to be true. Blushing furiously now, Diana looking down asked, "So, what do you want to eat?" She owed him supper still.

Dan with drew his hand from the table and took to the menu. He noticed her blush, but didn't want to say anything about it. "Well I don't remember this place, so what's good?" he asked. Dan couldn't help but keep his eyes on her. Her face was the only thing that woke him from his sleep. He wouldn't tell her that, at least not at this moment. A smile softly creased his lip, as he found himself looking down again at the menu.

Diana continued to stare into her tea, but responded to Dan's question. "Well, I really like the chicken grilled burger. It isn't very healthy. If you rather watch your weight, they have a mean taco salad. Or if you prefer a coffee shop's traditional fare, they have a good cheesecake with ice cream." She looked up hesitantly at him and caught him watching her. Tilting her head slightly, she wondered what he was thinking. "What do you like to eat?"

Dan look at the mene once mire. He smiled and looked up her, "well ll have what ever your having." he said. Diana looked even more beautiful then his dreams gave her justice. He could gel but look at her. " maybe you could help me find my memory." he said softly. Dan didn't want to take her away from anything she might be doing. ((sorry it's so short)))

"I could try," she said hesitantly. Looking at the menu, she suddenly felt mischievousness. Motioning to the waiter, she told him, "I would like to have the grilled chicken burger with fries, a taco salad, and cheesecake with ice cream. He'll had what I'm having so make it a double order." She turned to him and added, "unless you are not up to it."

Dan smirked. "Oh its on." he told her. Dan nodded as he looked to the waiter and nodded. "So what have you been up to since the last time we meet?" he asked her looking deep into her eyes. Dan was trying to put his memories back. He had a feeling that she was going to be the key to his memories.

Looking up in interest, she smiled and laughed,"Oh not that much really. Was working part time at a florist." A glimmer of teasing entered her eyes, "Spent my free time roaming the city in search of the handsome stranger who saved my life." Remembering his arms around her as he pulled her back flashed through her mind. What would she give to be safely nestled there again. Crash!

Swinging around, she saw that a car had rammed into the glass front window shattering it. Two gunmen hopped out and randomly started firing as they made their way to the cash drawer. One of them yelling to get down while the other focused on the cashier. Diana stared at them in shock, feeling the burning pain shooting from her side. Turning a pale face to Dan, she gulped, "Dan..." and slipped to the floor in shock, eyes trying to past the pain.

Dan smiled at her, "A florist, sounds interesting." he said with a smile. He sat across from her admiring every bit of her beauty. "did you have any sucsses with finding one." he said. Dan winked at her and let out a small laugh. He gently grabbed her hand and lovingly squeezed it. She was the only one to wake him from his eternal sleep. He let go of her hand as soon as he heard the cash. He looked about trying to figure out what was going on. "Diana..." he said. All he thought he had time to hide her from what was going on, but when he looked back at her, all he could see was her pal face. "Diana..." Dans eyes widened as he realized what had happened to her.

He rushed to her side and gently took her out of her set. He placed his hands on her bloody side. "You have to stay alive." he said softly to her. He cradled her in his lap. "If you leave me I'll never remember... I can't do this without you." he said softly. "Your the only person to wake me up." he said softly. Dan pulled her closer to him. He gently kissed her forehead. "Please just stay awake." he said. "I'll call someone." he said as he pulled his phone out. "Just stay with me..."
