Abstainya (Azurex and Maidenroseheart)

This roleplay is between me and Maidenroseheart. Enjoy reading it but please do not post here. Thank you.

Kaito entered his futuristic looking white padded room. Inside awaited a sleeping chamber in the shape of a white glass rectangle can. He typed his fingers over the case silently before it scanned over his hands and released from it's tight locks. He then pushed the white glass toward to reveal a black bed waiting within the tube. He sighed soft, getting ready for his job as he entered the door latched it's locks back into place as the door closed. The place was small but comfortable. It didn't take Kaito very long to fall asleep.
When Kaito opened his eyes he found himself in the World of Dreams, Abstainya. In this world people could only enter it when they dreamer. The world was much different from Earth. Here you could only show your true self. Kaito got his job out of many tests in this world. His job was very important. Since Abstainya offered limitless powers there was need to keep this in check. His job was just that. He had to make sure no one went over the limits they were allowed. There were more rules in this world and more limits since power could be abused. Since everyone was their true self here that didn't help much.

Her soft brown hair falling over her shoulders as she leaned down, Mina supported herself on the bed. It had been an incredibly long day. A part of her wanted nothing more than to go to sleep and never wake up again. Still, her brown eyes flared in determination. Nothing was going to stop her from living. She would just enjoy a fake world too. She deserved that much. Dropping onto the bed, Mina touched one long finger to a button. The lid gently closed and soft music started playing. Closing her eyes, she willing herself to relax. This was her haven, life need not follow her here.

Opening her eyes, Mina grinned. Finally, the World of Dreams. Standing from where she had been sitting, Mina walked along a park path. Flowers blooming around her and birds singing in the sky. She grinned. Her appearance here was white hair, white skin, and glowing white eyes. Sparkling, pure and pretty. This was where she could truly live and be free. She opened her hands and stretched her fingers. In Abstainya, she loved how she had abilities. Mina could create shields, float in the air, and best of all... with a wiggle of a finger she created an icy ballerina to dance about the park. She controlled cooler water elements.

Kaito walked down green floored streets. He had been assigned the the country named Midori. This whole place was filled in with different shades of green. In this world there was only one chosen person to rule over the rainbow color coded countries. Of course this only ever happened every fifty years and only the purest of hearts could be trust to take lead. Someone who was that pure was getting harder and harder to find. That was why people like Kaito were respected greatly. His job as a guardian showed him to be pure enough to be picked as a ruler. Kaito didn't really want that though. Sure the time was coming to pick a new ruler but he just couldn't see himself doing it.
Breaking from these thoughts Kaito moved forward. He was wearing pure white armor, the uniform of a great guardian. Were he went people stood more properly and stared or tried to impress him. There was a silly rumor guardians like himself picked a ruler. But that was very silly. No one even saw who was ruling over these lands since they left their home to take the throne. The process of choosing a leader was a mystery even to the guardians of Abstainya. Sometimes Kaito couldn't help but be curious about it all. Yet he still didn't wish to get involved. There was no way he would let himself become a ruler. He could feel the pressure just thinking of it.

maidenroseheart 01-03-2013 03:03 AM

Something dimmed the sound of the birds. Turning Mina saw a black mist seeping in rivulets in the park. It wasn't much but that small area seemed, tainted, somehow. She gasped and drew back. She had never see another in the Dream World and preferred it that way. She dealt with people all day long: coworkers, supervisors, and sometimes the management team. The corporation she worked for was rich, powerful, and sometimes ethically questionable. However they helped with a lot of charities and took care of their workers, so they weren't exactly bad guys. Yet it was them she thought of when she saw that black mist.

A small whiff of the mist caught a bird. Mina watched in horrid fascination as the bird slowly took of a dull look in the eyes and gray in color. If she didn't know better, she would have thought the bird was no longer itself. It still flew but it's song wasn't as bright. Mina hesitated, then turned and floated up and away from her park. Her park that she had slept in for so long. This World of Dreams surely had other places that she could be.

AzuraX 01-03-2013 04:01 AM

Kaito gasped as he took out a round piece of clear glass. In the middle was a white dot and up the the north was black. Another enemy, named Shadow for his shady black tricks. A simple rule breaker tainted by his power. Kaito rushed forward as he made the dots disappear on the glass before it turned a milky white. Then his hands swiftly typed across the glass plate and a portal opened before him. Only guardians had this power, since they needed to get any rule breakers as fast as they could. He moved through and found himself in a park. Through his sapphire blue hair he could see the black mist tainting everything. His eyes turned bright purple as he pulled a sword right out from were his heart was. The sword was pure white and shined beautifully in the light.

As Kaito faced the mist he noticed how everything changed with it's touch. It truly tainted all that it cloaked over in gray shades. He growled lowly as he pointed his sword at the mist. "As a Guardian I ask that you stand down, rule breaker. You are not to taint this world any longer! Stop before I must use force!" He spoke loudly in a rough tone. He hoped to scare the controller of this forbidden magic. There was no escape for the enemy now. As a Guardian he was highly trained to deal with rule breakers, the silly ones all the way to the crazy ones.

maidenroseheart 01-03-2013 09:22 AM

The mist seemed to simply float away into nothingness at his arrival. A presence that had been there seemed to laugh and then became empty air. Still not everything was okay. The poor dull bird suddenly had glowing red eyes. It's limp wings filled with tension and it swooped into a dive bomb at the guardian. It's angry shrill filling the air.

Mina looked around. Not having been outside the park before, she wondered where she might go. Being in this World of Dreams was her chance to be away from others. Still, now that she was floating there in the sky, it was only a matter of time until someone saw her. Seeing a beautiful lake, she starting floating towards it. Then stopped. The edges had other dreamers enjoying it's scene. Some were water manipulators. Others were content using other abilities that had nothing to do with water at all. She almost groaned, then saw an island on the far side. Aiming for that, she quickly made her way there. She never saw the dark figure standing in the shade of a tree, misty tendrils seeping from him as he watched her with jealous rage.

AzuraX 01-03-2013 10:40 PM

Kaito quickly faced the bird coming his way. His blade pointed as the attacker came at him. Such power to even be able control animals was extreme. Whoever was behind this strange mist was not to be underestimated here. Kaito had only witnessed this strong power in a couple of places. But Kaito was the wrong guy to mess with. In the real world Kaito was a simple middle classed man with a job at a bakery. The job didn’t pay much but he enjoyed working there and seeing new faces. He got to meet so many cool people thanks to his job so he never complained. In the real world only Kaito’s best friend, Roy, knew he was a Guardian. But Kaito liked it better that way. In this world he had discovered his purpose. Even someone so seemingly unimportant could make a big effect on this world. He once hated the world’s corruption. Now he could bring it to justice.

Kaito’s blade sliced through the monstrous bombed bird that was attacking him. Anything the blade touched soon shattered into pieces before disappearing in a wisp of white smoke. “This is your last and final-“. Kaito started to speak coldly but was stopped by a sudden beeping noise. He pointed his blade at the mist as he pulled out the clear round glass he always kept with him and smirked wildly. He looked joyfully at the black growing dot placed on the screen and grinned victoriously. “Thank you for helping me out.” He kept his grin as his fingers typed at the glass and spoke into it. “Roy, I know you see it too. This one is all yours Roy, I am going after the bigger man this time.” He then glanced towards the mist almost pitifully. “Have fun with Roy.” He spoke softly before dashing off through an opening portal.

Out of the same portal appeared a taller male than Kaito was. This boy had bright red hair and white armor that could only be that of a Guardian. He grinned wildly and pulled out his sword, but it was colored rose red unlike Kaito’s sword. The male moved over to the mist and pointed his sword at it before flames came out of the sword. When he spoke it was deeper than most, more dangerous too. “The name is Roy. Hello… And goodbye.”

Kaito soon found himself at the lake where the source of dark power was at its most strongest. So this was where he could find the main rule breaker, huh? He had their sudden rage to thank in a way though. Sometimes emotions could activate powers even when they were carefully hidden away. Some powers you didn’t even know you had could be revealed through emotions. In some cases emotions even added more strength and power to a certain magic spell. All he knew now was who ever was showing this dark power was very strong and had a lot of hate within their core being. Kaito wasn’t too worried though because he knew people could change. In Abstainya it was as easy to taint the world as it was to purify it. This was also one of the many jobs left to a Guardian, to take care of the tainted and try to purify it.

Kaito moved forward without hesitation, carrying the weight of his armor with him. As expected he drew attention right away. The people enjoying the lake glanced at him and some whispered as he walked through the area. He didn’t give the time to look back though. His purple eyes remained on the black dot that was dangerously increasing in size. He had to hurry up and reach it soon or it could end up being too late. He would not fail this world though. He loved Abstainya too much to fail it now. Kaito focused himself on finding this enemy that was displaying great power.

So much hate was within this person… Kaito was no better though. He was a rule breaker too at one point in his life. He thought he had rights to freedom. But oh just how wrong he was, he soon came to realize that these powers he had were dangerous. That was why he stopped it and worked to become a better person. He had Roy to thank for it all. He once hated everything there was and had handled a dangerous power of his own. Roy saved him from destroying himself though. Now Kaito would save this person too.

Kaito spotted the rule breaker up ahead. He had no fear or hesitation now. He knew he was ready to fight if he needed it. He would never use his powers for evil, but he could use them for good. As he spoke towards the figure it was gentler than before. He spoke as if this person was an old friend of his. “Your rage is amazing. Not many people can channel their hate so well into black energy. But your power was enough to finally get the attention of our leader. Why so much hate?” He got a sad look, wanting to reach out towards this figure.

maidenroseheart 01-04-2013 01:56 AM

The figure glanced over at him, distracted from the pure white being that was happily now hidden on the island. So it was true that these guardians could find you easily. He would have to take care to enter for mere minutes and then sleep the old fashioned way outside Abstainya. Passing that information back to his master would be imperative for the plan to work and not fail. Still, this guardian was a nuisance to him. He felt his mist scouts where they were at in all the quiet park places his target might hide in and gave them one last order. Find something, anything, and hide inside it until she came. That way when he left, her life would still be in jeopardy.

That took care of the purehearted girl. Yet still this problem of the guardians remained. His master wanted the throne and so far no one had been able to bribe these darn guardians. If he could manipulate him somehow and save his master time, then he should try it. Pity Abstainya thought he was a corrupt man, or he wouldn't appear so... black. "Thank you for your compliment. It is not rage so much as pain. Pain that only a few can take away, but everyone refuses to help with." If he could talk the guardian into nominating him for the throne, or his master, then his job here would be done. The rumor was that the guardians had some control. He had no way of knowing it was just that, a rumor.

On the island nearby, Mina sighed and sat down. Looking around at her new paradise, she noted that no one seemed to come here. Most people preferred the company of other people, even in sleep, it seemed. She grinned. Why would anyone want to spend their time with others all day with such relaxing beauty was theirs for enjoyment. Stretching out her legs and arms, she felt the stress from the stress black mist floating away. Leaning against a tree and picking a flower, she examined it. Then created a small force field around the flower in her hand. It appeared to be floating in her hand, but that was an illusion of the force field. Mina grinned.

AzuraX 01-04-2013 02:11 AM

Kaito looked in surprise. Pain was such a rare emotion to hold. Everyone seemed to happy in Abstainya. How could there be pain in such a wonderful place? Then again this pain was probably connected to reality. The world was harsh towards anyone would wasn't very high classed. In the real world it was all money. But Abstainya was different. Kaito was very sure that it was. "Why would they refuse it? It is our job to help the people here become better and happier. What could be troubling you? As a Guardian I seek to help you, not harm you. Even the worst rule breakers deserve help. Please speak to me if no one else will listen. My ears are open even if they have closed their own. They do it foolishly if what you speak is the truth..."

maidenroseheart 01-04-2013 02:14 AM

The dark minion turned away from him. His shoulders sagged a little. "You do not believe me. Your last sentence suggests I am lying. No worries. I'm used to know one truly wanting to help me. Just leave me alone." He was eager to see what this guardian was like and just how concerned he was for others. Did he do his job for the title alone? It would be interesting to place him someday in a situation where he had to protect either himself or others. See how seriously he took his job then. But that was fantasy, a dream, when this was here and now.

AzuraX 01-04-2013 02:35 AM

He shook his head quickly. "What I doubt is not your pain. I just can't see how someone could refuse you. It is a Guardian's job to guard the hearts of the dream world. That is how we got our names after all. Are you sure that a Guardian has rejected your wounded emotions? If so they must be taken off their job right away. A Guardian must strictly obey each rule given to him or her. If they break that duke they must be kicked off the team right away. What I am saying is that I want to bring justice to someone who would deny you in a time of darkness. I wish not only to listen, but bring you the justice you deserve." Kaito spoke gently and passionately, his purple eyes shinning as he spoke of justice. He was being honest, because if he was lying his hair would turn black right away. No one could be fake in Abstainya.

maidenroseheart 01-04-2013 03:00 AM

The black misty being turned and looked at him in curiousity. So knightly in his mission and purpose, the minion had no doubt that this guardian believed himself to be very righteous. And that irked him. However, he needed a guardian. Just one to help him. So he would put up with this one's attitude for a little while. "My pain is not from this world. It comes from reality. Is that also your concern? You can do little there. No guardian can help me nor wish to make life better for one who has issues outside of Abstainya." It was amazing how these guardians seemed to take their jobs so seriously.

AzuraX 01-04-2013 04:02 AM

A problem within reality... Kaito couldn't help but think about it. The shadowed figure was right though. Kaito hardly even survived it himself. Reality was so much harsher. That was why people were quick to get home after their work was over. No one could wait to escape into the better world of Abstainya. It's gentle welcoming seemed to call for those who hated reality. "I may not have powers in reality, but I can still fight. Don't take me for the Guardian that only has strength here. I have skills that could be considered useful in reality. Have you ever heard of the X-Hack? My older brother was the only who caused that."

The X-Hack was legend now but five years ago the government was blood thirsty with power. They used a system named Kix. The system was enough to power over millions and billions of spy cameras. At the time a dictator by the name of Russell used this system to control people. Then out of no where the whole system was hacker and messed with so badly something as powerful as Kix could not be made again with the system burning and eating itself into nothing. Later on this hacker was named X-Hack.

maidenroseheart 01-04-2013 05:13 AM

Looking hopefully up at the shining white guardian, the black mist seemed to dissipate slightly. As if hope for a good life had finally reached the miserable soul. In a eager, hopeful voice he said, "Maybe you can help me. Ease the suffering. End the pain. You would be the first. It is, not me personally that is in trouble. I am restless and worried for another. A friend of mine is in dire straights and I worry about him. My thoughts are consumed with sorrow on his behalf. I have done everything I could think of to help him but nothing seems to be a solution. I and my friends have all talked together and planned to ease his suffering but we failed. To watch a dear one suffer so..." He broke off in anguish, the dark mist rising again in puffy clouds around him.

AzuraX 01-05-2013 01:15 AM

Kaito listened in to the words of the rule breaker with much mercy. He wasn't rough on those who broke laws, unlike most Guardians. "So it is a friend that you wish to help, then why not help him? I understand why your stress would cause you to show such powers, but is what your friend wishes for seem that impossible? Even in the real world you would be surprised what you can do... Is your friend also creating this dark energy? I hope you are aware of it's dangers. Black energy is easy to taint things with... Anyways, my brother disappeared long ago. I am the only one who knows X-Hack now. I think it could help you. There is something you don't know about Abstainya. The secret to Abstainya could help you in the real world though. You will see why once I explain it to your friend. " Kaito spoke confidently now.

Little did Kaito know, this was all a trick. He reached out his hand and smiled before he spoke out again in his usual gentle tone. "What do you say? All you have to do is let me meet your friend and tell me what I can do to help. I can find out anything by hacking a system. I am sure I can help him here and in reality. Either way my powers shouldn't be underestimated. All I need to know is what he wants. I can work from that point to focus on gaining it. What are his troubles anyways? As my duty as Guardian, I will help him at any cost."

maidenroseheart 01-05-2013 04:31 AM

The man had such obvious relief and hope on his face. It was incredible just how it changed his appearance. He went from black do a grayish blue. So sadness and depression still were there, but it was a step closer to regaining a normal appearance. He said, "My friend's problem is that he was raised all his life to help take care of others. To be there for as many people as possible. His family had high hopes and demands for his life. He did his best to excel in school and be as compassionate for his classmates as he could. Once he was out of school and started on his career, those expectations didn't decrease nor did his family seem to feel he had shown even half of the goodness and caring he should. So he created a corporation and used it's wealth to help a large number of charities as well as to do a lot of acts of kindness that only one in his position could do. Still, he has only earned his family's disapproval. They claim he hasn't done enough. He truly is a kind person guardian. So kind that even one person thinking that he isn't helping others enough is enough of an accusation to crush his spirit. He has gone into a depression and nothing I can do seems to help him. I have asked mutual friends of ours for ideas and we have come to a conclusion. If we could help him in the one way his family couldn't dispute. If we... oh, but it is impossible guardian. Surely, guardian, surely if you could... you have at least heard me out more than anyone else. I will trust you. Guardian, if there was a way to choose him as ruler of a World of Dreams country, then who could dispute that he wasn't helping a lot of people?"

AzuraX 01-05-2013 04:51 AM

"Rule over Abstainya?" He asked gently. He was ready to say it was impossible. That his friend should just give up. No guardian could pick a leader. Only the one who controlled Abstainya could do it. But he would be lying if he said that. The leader of Abstainya was not the only one who could pick. "Abstainya wasn't always around, you know? Have you ever wondered why? Well me and my brother wondered about it all the time. Why is Abstainya here now, but not in old records? Because Abstainya was created the same way X-Hack was. At first it was just a system that could take data away. But Abstainya did something amazing. Abstainya stole data and used it to create a world of its very own. Do you know what this means? It means the system can be jacked, tampered, and hacked. The X-Hack was created as a twin system to Abstainya. With X-Hack I could make your friend the king in no time at all."

maidenroseheart 01-05-2013 04:59 AM

Such evident relief flooded the man's features. He stayed blue-gray, but it was such a dramatic transformation from the black mass of mists that no one would think to question the truthfulness of his words, "You are truly a guardian. For you have given me not just hope, but faith, that maybe everything will be okay. That I need not stand by helpless to help a friend whose only crime in his family's eyes is not being kind enough. Thank you! I must go tell my friends!" With that he woke up.

It was no longer necessary to terminate the life of the female who had such a pure countenance in the World of Dreams. However, that didn't mean he hadn't figured out her identity. Now that he knew that she was in fact the sweet supervisor at his boss' company, he was obliged to include that information in his report to the boss. She wouldn't die in Abstainya. She would die in real life. And this means of hacking Abstainya, once they controlled that then Abstainya was theirs.

AzuraX 01-05-2013 05:32 AM

Kaito seemed brighter than before. He was so happy to see this person slowly changing. He had given this person the chance to become better and free from the world. He dreamer of making everyone pure like this. Maybe he could now. Once a person was pure white they were marked as pure hearted in Abstainya and the real world. They would no longer have any hate within. "I am glad to full fill my duty as guardian. I just know I have a reason for being picked as a guardian. Maybe someday I can help everyone in Abstainya become pure again." Kaito smiled as he watched the man leave. "I am Kaito Xavier by the way!" He shouted this last part. If he was to help them the guy would have to know his name.

maidenroseheart 01-05-2013 11:04 AM

Standing up after getting some relaxation in, Mina smiled as she looked around the beautiful island. It was time to to explore this new quiet place. She looked around. No creepy dark mist appeared to be in sight. Maybe she had just overstayed her welcome in that other park. Walking out towards the edge of the island, she leaned against a tree and looked out towards the edge of the lake. The people were so small from this far away, but even at this distance, she could tell that they were happy. Colors of light blue for those lounging on the ground. Yellow for the kids playing tag among a group of bushes. Two forms out of sight of the others were a glowing red, their passion evident for each other. There was a figure who was greenish white, happily reading a book. Then off away from the others was a pure white, similar to her. She wondered if this was one of the guardians that she had read about in real life. If he was the visible to her, then her own white body might be visible to the resting people on that far area. Quickly turning and slipping behind the trees, she worked her way back inland. Watching the birds in the area and their happy frolicking.

AzuraX 01-06-2013 05:55 PM

Since the mist was gone from this place Kaito carefully handled the circular glass that acted as a detecting device for rule breakers. The worser the action was, the darker the color appeared on the screen. He scanned the frame but the trouble from before now had no traces within site. Since all was well he telaported himself back to the park where Roy had took over handling the mist. He was glad to see Roy chatting with a normal person wearing orange colors. Roy was so much better at purifying than he was, and at first Kaito was jealous, but now he found himself respecting the more experienced elder. He smiled as he joined in beside Roy, glad to take a break from his work as a Guardian.

maidenroseheart 01-08-2013 01:18 AM

An alarm clock pulled Mina out of Abstainya. Waking up and sliding out of the bed, she stretched feeling better than when she had climbed in. Getting ready for work, she realized she was low on supplies for making her own lunch. The company's lunch was a lot more expensive than what she could make for herself. Sighing with that realization, Mina left the apartment earlier than usual. She would just have to stop by a bakery on the way to pick up some pre-made sandwiches.

AzuraX 01-09-2013 02:35 AM

Kaito awoke to reality on his own as usual. Unlike most people Kaito was able to wake up early because he slept most of his days since he was in Abstainya all the time after his job at the bakery. He pushed the container open and gently pressed it closed before he changed into him uniform. Since he worked at the bakery his uniform was a light brown and white. His boss had a thing for items and people appearing "cute", but that was kind of cute too. He was ready in no time at all and set out on his black bike. In reality Kaito was pretty skinny with short black hair and bright sapphire eyes. He knew he looked nothing like he was in Abstainya, and he was really glad for it. As long as no one knew he was a guardian he could continue his simple life. His mind escaped from these thoughts as he chained his bike before entering the shop along with a couple other workers.

maidenroseheart 01-09-2013 09:17 AM

Walking up to the bakery door, she opened the door causing sunlight to filter through her brown hair. Strolling with the confidence of a woman who didn't take no for an answer, she was every bit as self-assured and outgoing in reality as her opposite introverted self in Abstainya. Two such different personalities on the surface. Examining the different stuff on the shelves, she ended up picking up two sandwiches and a bottle of tea before reaching the cash register.

AzuraX 01-10-2013 03:47 AM

Kaito stood by the register and watched the people go in and out. Though this job seemed boring to most, Kaito loved it. He got to meet new people with new styles every day. Sometimes he even chatted with a few. He was a fan of meeting new people and learning new things. Each person who came in had their own story, just like him. He smiled to the incoming customer and handed the items to the high class women after she paid. It was ease to tell she was one of the luck ones who were rich. Her style and clothes basically screamed rich and spoiled. It wasn't that Kaito had anything personal against the rich but they were held up highly like the guardians are in Abstainya.
