Akito the Demon Prince (Azurex and Tachigami)

This is a roleplay between me and Tachi-kun. Enjoy!

Akito sat up and slipped away from the warmth of his heavy black blankets and bed with regret and hesitation. He hated getting up so easily but his father, the Demon king, had called him down. He had to follow as his father said or he would get locked up in his room all over again for rebelling. What could he say? He was a teenager and he wanted constant entertainment the castle did not offer him. So he always went against his father and constantly gave the servants a hard time for his own amusement. Because of this the boy was considered very rotten. Someone who wasn't good or responsible enough to take the throne.

Akito sighed as he though of how boring today would be as he dressed in a nice navy blue suit and he fixed his raven hair down from its bedhair. After getting prepared he pulld back the voilet curtains in his room to let the sun light in. Quickly blinking his crimson eyes he adapted to the sudden bright shine attacking his eye sight. Akito then left the room, closing the dark brown oak door behind him without a sound.

He walked through the long dim yellow painted walls lined with a white painted door than a frame of a picture or a painting of someone and than another white door. This pattern went on and on and below each painting or picture was a golden plate engraved with thick black cursive letters in each along with Roman numerals. Akito soon reached the end of the hall to be welcomed by a giant open space. Oaks bars came out of the corners of the wall and guided towards a red carpeted stairs that tilted its way down to the main enterance of the castle. Akito followed the red carpet down the stairs before turning to the right and made another right where a small hall was tucked between the stairs and the stone wall of the castle.

At the end of the right and left halls were two great oak doors that opened to the golden throne room. A golden carpet lined with bright red flowers lead all the way down the the high king's throne chair that was pure coal black with red padding on the seat and back. The king looked to Akito as he went forward. Akito looked to his father in silince. Akito looked almost nothing like the king. The king was big, buff, tan, blonde, and the only thing they had in common was their crimson eyes. Akito was very pale, small, not really toned, and his raven hair he had gotten from his mother.

The king began to speak roughly in his deep and power voice. "Akito, as you are aware you are old enough to marry. This also means you can have a slave aswell. This one you can use to your will more. It will be your personal little toy to play with. As my son I am more than glad to give you the firstt slave you will own. Guards! Bring out the slave..." He ordered the guards and they obediently did just as the king spoke.

Miro hated his life suddenly. Hated it so much. How had it been that he'd gotten snatched up, out of his home, his village? A little place that never stuck to one place too long---it was dangerous for them. Besides, the dog-like instincts within his people wouldn't let them stay planted. They had to move. Now he sat with a collar around his neck, his hands cuffed with heavy chains in front of him. He sat on the ground, having been pulled out of his old clothes and given generally oversized, simpler things that didn't do much to hide his body. On either side of him, armed guards stood waiting, it seemed, for someone to call them into the room he'd been led to.

The young boy was not, in fact, a young boy. Dogs aged quicker than humans, demons, fae, and most other creatures. But he'd been cursed by the insane medicine man of his pack. Now he didn't quite know how old he really was. Young still, that was for sure, and he didn't dare look up unless told to. He'd gone out to hunt that morning, with little more than a dagger and his keen ears perked up for any movement. Then he'd heard it---the cracking of twigs and movement in the bushes, indicating prey nearby. He'd ducked down... readied himself. Pounced on the feet of a patrol. He'd been surrounded and caught.

The guards steadied themselves when the loud, deep voice barked at them from inside the room they'd been waiting near. Wrenching him up, the guards went forward, and Miro gritted his teeth so they wouldn't chatter. He didn't want to show fear. Didn't want to be so weak. But he was. That was why he'd been sent out alone. All alone. His pack thought it would make him stronger. He was, after all, the runt. The collar was pulled tight when he didn't move fast enough, and when he came to a stop, Miro gasped a breath in, blinking away tears from bi-colored eyes. "Bow, child." The guard to his left put a booted foot on his back, kicking him forward. Miro stumbled, falling hard on his small knees. Turning his gaze upward to the black-haired young man, he gasped, and looked down, placing his forehead on the cold floor in submission. He felt ill. He wanted to go home. Shuddering, he bit his tongue.

Akito watched in silence as the strange creature was brought in. But he couldn't help but glance to his father and back to the slave that was presented to him. A cold chuckle passed his light pink lips as his crimson eyes looked at this slave. "A boy? No, not even that. You brought me a dog, father? What am I to do with a beast like this? Teach it to roll over and beg for mercy? Ha! This creature is a joke! If you are going to get me a slave atleast get me something less pathetic than this. It is probly so weak that it won't survive the first day of work. I almost pity the thing." Akito snickered coldly as he looked down at the dog.

Akito made his way over to the creature. He figured he might as well as have fun with it. After all this dog was his now. He studied the dog's pathetic body lying on the floor and he got a dark smile upon his face. He spoke in a evil tone as he looked over the dog."Show me what you can do or I will break your legs. You better make it good too. If it is just a stupid trick every mutt can do I won't show you any mercy. You got that, little beast? Now get to it! I don't want your rotting body on my carpet so you can go onto the floor boards and do something good. If you try to run or fight I won't hesitate to put you in the cage or hang you upside down by your feet!"

Heart racing hard, Miro forced himself to look up. His pack always bowed, and looked up with their heads low as the Alpha spoke to them or passed by. Now his Alpha was this demon, whose name he couldn’t know. “I... I... don’t... I d-don’t have... any...” He swallowed hard. “I ca-can, uh, play... play stringed instruments. I d-don’t have a ha-harp. Or... a violin.” His voice was soft, and he couldn’t stop the stutter. One of the guards stepped away, but he didn’t dare turn his head to see where he went.

“Get up, dog. Over here.” The guard yelled at him, and the other dragged him away from the king and his son, toward a large harp that he’d set on the wood of the floor. The one that manned the collar and leash bent down, undid the rope that bound his hands, and unhooked the leash from the collar. Obviously he was no longer considered a threat, and no one thought he’d run away. Miro feared death, that was for sure. He’d not disobey if his body was able to move.

Scrambling to the harp, Miro ran his fingers over the strings. This harp was very well refined, extremely evenly balanced. Closing his eyes, Miro focused. His dog-like ears fell as he plucked the strings carefully, easily, and let the noise become music. There was such a range of sound available on this particular instrument, unlike the hand-held ones he’d had to rely on, which were easy to carry when packing up and moving to a different ground. Miro had to focus hard to integrate these particular tones into the rest of the music flawlessly. Young, but able with his hands, Miro almost felt a bit eased by the sound. But when he opened his eye only slightly, the dark one, he could see the guards. The king. The prince. And he shuddered again, but controlled it well enough so it didn’t hit his hands and force them to play out a sour note. The very thought of such a thing might incur the wrath of the prince he was given to.

Akito smirked as he watched the slave do the best he could. For a moment Akito was surprised this boy could do so well, but then he noticed as small hesitation in his paws. That was when Akito knew just how to get his fun out of this. He always enjoying lowering people into the lowest. He broke the silence by speaking out coldly. "Music huh? You call that a song? Ha.... You look like a lost puppy just trying to find your way around the cords." He let himself walk over to the boy and his hand gently hand over a few different notes and then a few others, causing a bitter-sweet tune that painted out into a tragedy as he played it out. He stopped playing, looking much more gentle than before. "Music isn't just notes. The person who creates these songs mixes in a deeper meaning. What you see from each sound is purely your own. While you might see the bitter, others could taste the sweet. It all depends on were your mind takes you to."
