Tenshi Kingdom
This is a one on one roleplay for NekoLen and AzuraX only. You may read, but please don't post. Thank you for understanding. Warning: This rp contains some descriptions of violence and death. Please do not read if this will upset you. Thank you. It was a brilliantly warm summer's day, another one for the books. The Kingdom of Tenshi, the Angels that ruled the land, was all hustle and bustle. Shop keepers were opening their stores and stall holders were stocking their shelves. It would be another fine day to sell wares in the City. The housewives and children meandered through the streets, making their way to different shops to buy and trade items. Aki watched the humans go about their days in interest. He had always found the humans strange how they needed to buy and sell to live their lives comfortably. The capitalism was very fascinating. He could watch it all day long. But, he had other things he needed to do. He moved from his current sleeping shelter, a small garden shed located on an empty lot, and made his way through the crowd. It was hard not to look suspicious, as he was wearing a dark cape that covered his face and he was a lot taller than the humans of this city. The people around here were used to him, however, as he worked at one of the stalls. Having a part time job helped the people not become overly suspicious and the made sure the Angels would never notice him. He glanced up at the shining white Palace with great dislike. Those so-called pure ones that had purged his homeland. Thanks to them, his family, friends, his whole race were destroyed. But one day, revenge would be his. |
Haruka awoke in a lazy manner as she sat up from her nap. She parted her lips as she allowed a great big yawn to pass her light pink lips. Once again she awoke to her bedroom, nicknamed The Prison because it they trapped her in it all day. As a angel born under royalty they carefully locked her away in her boring white room. She hated being locked away like an animal like this. The more she grew tired of it, the more plans she made to escape. Today was the day she would escape.
Very carefully Haruka slipped on some normal boy clothes. He set her hair up so she looked more like a male. This appearance fooled a lot of her people as long she she put in her purple contacts. Now that they were in she grabbed a small bag of supplies that age could live off of she quickly jumped out of the window and let her pure white wings out. She used them to gently float to the ground and after landing she hid her wings and pulled a black lather jacket over her shirt. Haruka then set out in the human world, glad to be finally free of her prison. |
The small store that sold cloth and materials was located in a small street, just outside of the market place. Very few people knew that it existed, so the owner could go down to the pub to drink while his tall employee looked after the store. He could get drunk and pay the employee very little, as the person seemed to be a foreigner. He paid in 2 silver coins, which was not even enough to buy dinner with. But the employee seemed to be happy with the pay, oblivious that the standard rate was 1 gold coin an hour. It meant that the miserly man could make more profit and drink more rum.
Aki sat by the cash register, paitently waiting for another customer. He looked about the wares and wrinkled his nose in distaste. Many of the cloths the owner had claimed were demon-made were shameless fakes. It made Aki disgusted to have to sell them as if they were real. Demon-made items were on high demand, as the race had been made extinct. Or so everyone thought. |
Haruka walked her way through the city, getting lost along the way. She really had no clue about the outside world. Ever since her mother died her father became stricter and stricter till it got to the point where Haruka never left her room. This didn't stop her from dreaming though. Even when she knew she could only dream of staying in this world forever she still read about it in her countless collections of books. She fell in love with the idea of living in this world. "But how long will I be able to live here?" Haruka couldn't help but wonder.
Haruka let those thoughts go as she wondered into a clothes store. Clothes from demons? That was a lie. All the demons were gone, all of it was burned away. But she needed some outfits to keep her boy appearance up. She didn't want to be found out. The safest way was to become someone totally different. With this in mind she entered the store. Without even a second glance she chuckled at the stupid looking costumes. Snickering she walked up to the cashier, talking in the boyish tone she had perfected over the years. "Is there anything even close to real in this store? Jeez, these aren't even good for Holloween. I hoped I might find atleast some good outfit here but every last one is a fake after all." |
Aki glanced up at the new comer. A young boy, with a strange aroma. His smell and sight were heightened to that of a human, he could smell as well as a dog and could see in the dark as if it were day. The Demons had been mostly nocturnal after all. When he heard the boy comment on the falseness of the cloths he felt relieved. It was nice to see a human that knew their wares.
He left his perch near the cashier and went to the boy's side, rearranging his cloak so the human couldn't see his face. Even if he did, Aki had hidden his horns in his hair and filed his fangs so they seemed like humans. It was the eyes that would give him away. Where Angels had blue or silver eyes, Demons had red, orange or yellow ones. The pupils made their eyes look like a cats, and at times, a goats. This helped them see so well in the dark. "I am so sorry that the owner of this shop insists on stocking fakes to make a profit. We do have some real cloths in storage, if you wish for me to get them out for you," he offered, turning on his caring salesman voice. It was a bit deep and gruff, as all demon voices were. He had perfected disguising this, however. He thought of the small chest behind the counter that held the real cloths. He knew they were 100% genuine because he had made them himself. All Demons were good with crafting, some with metal and others with materials. |
Haruka smiled gently towards him gently. She was happy to hear there were true outfits she could keep. Anything was better than wearing the same outfit day, after day, after day. Her fake purple eyes looked over the pathetic costumes once more along with their outrageous prices. She wondered who was silly enough to be fooled into buying such items. They didn't look even close to real. Haruka would know that better than anyone else. Back when she was still free of her prison and before the demon race was dead she had seen the captain of the demon army over and over again discussing things with her father. What made her father demand all demons dead was after her mother was assassinated by a demon. Shaking these thought off she looked at him again.
"What do you have that is real? I don't really want any armory or anything fancy. Just a couple of outfits I can use till I find a place to live. To be totally honest I am new in this city. I have zero clue how to get around at all but I am sure I will figure it out if I try, right? I just hope I find a good place. I may end up sleeping on the streets a couple of days but hopefully my supplies will last me for a good amount of time. I packed stuff that should last me for some time. If it rots I can always make other plans. Is hunting allowed in the forests? I could survive off of animal meat. Ah forgive me, I am talking to myself again. Old habbits die hard, huh? By the way I am... Um... Well you can just call me Haru. "Haruka smiled and held out her hand. When she talked she was very energetic. |
Aki went to the counter, bending over to take the cloths from the chest. They were not sown into clothes just yet, but Aki could do that in no time. He wasn't a tailor, but he could try to make the boy happy. He showed the materials to the human. They were many colour and patterns, all made from fire and magic, so they shimmered constantly and felt warm to the touch. "Pick out a material you like and I will sow it into anything you wish. I'm a bit of a tailor as well as a shopkeeper," he said. "About the city, it is a rather large place and easy to get lost in if you do not know your way around. I have shelter if you require it, though staying at an inn would be better if you have the money."
He pulled a measuring tape from within his robe, and started to measure the dimensions of the boy, without touching him. |
Haruka followed him happily over to the fabrics. She gently took the black, gold, and rose red colors. After placing them back in his hands she smiled brightly. "I like these colors. They could make a good colour combination, don't you think so too? Blue, purple, and black go pretty well together too along with teal, dark green, and navy blue. I would really love it if you could make some outfits out of those colors for me. " Haruka glanced at him, her eyes shining. She smiled brightly and bowed as a thank you. "I would really like a place to stay. I promise I will pay you back for everything. I will work extra hard if that would please you. In fact I would gladly work for you for free. Just please help me out!"
|
Aki smiled as he finished measuring and he took the materials the boy had chosen over to the counter. He'd have to go elsewhere to make the clothes, away from prying human eyes. They tended to panic when they saw magic being used, especially the fiery dark magic of a Demon. He shook his head at the thought. The Angels had spread many rumours about the Demons that were not true, mainly that they were evil and ate humans. Demons were just like any sentient creature, some were good and others bad. Aki was not bad or evil and he hated how his family had been prosecuted just because they used "evil" magic.
"There is no need to work for me," he spoke, with a smile that showed from under his cloak. "I am, myself, a servant of the owner of this store. If you wish to find a job, the City Hall is a good place to start. There are many good jobs for young men like yourself, if labour is what you can do." He shook his head, thinking about the lousy pay this job gave. He only pretended not to know of true value, just to seem ignorant and not suspicious. "As for my home, it is just a small shack. There should be room for two, seeing you are... Considerably smaller than myself." |
Haruka grinned as she saw him smile. She had always had wanted to do that. Now that she was free there was so much she wish to do. Go to dances, take walks, go to parks and playgrounds, see plays, listen to music, and all the things she could not do in her little white cage. She spotted some beautiful silver silk and gasped. "Could I make just one more request? That silver would make for a good dress... I mean for my twin sister! We look a lot alike and all and I know she would love it. Are you sure I can't help you? I will definitely repay you though. You can't stop me, got that!?"
|
Aki chuckled. It had been a long time since he had talked to someone young and energetic. "OK, OK, but don't expect me to ask for anything," he replied, taking the silk as well. "You remind me of my little brother," he said, feeling his heart ache. Why had he mentioned his little brother? The last time he saw Mizu, the boy had been sliced in half. He shuddered and willed the tears of sadness and pain away. He had to be strong.
He packed the materials into a paper bag, placing the bag on the counter and making a note to take them when he finished work. "I have to stay and guard the shop for the next hour or so. There is a park just down the road if you want to go for a walk. You are welcome to stay and wait for me to be finished here, but if I get a costumer, I don't want you telling them that all this stuff is fake." I'll make the clothes in the back if he stays, he thought to himself. |
She looked at him as he spoke of a brother. She felt slightly jealous of him. In reality Haruka was an only child which had added to her loneliness. There had been so many days she had wished for at least a brother or sister. Even a pet would of satisfied her. Yet her ideas were all refused and every day was boring. How she hated that room...
She smiled at him again and chuckled. "Once again I thank you. This has been really helpful for me. For the dress want me to get my twins sizes? I can have her write them down for you. But we are pretty much the same sizes. Don't worry I won't tell anyone. If they are stupid enough to buy these costumes then let them learn their lessons. I will go to the park for a while. A walk sounds great!" |
"I have your measurements. If you are around the same size, I will just use these," he mentioned at the small bit of paper he was now writing on. "I will leaving the store just after the clock tolls 5. You should be able to hear it from the park." He was speaking, of course, of the famous ivory clock tower built in the centre of the city. It had been built by the Angel's ancestors, the creatures known as the Immortals. While one tribe decided to become of the sky and day, the other became of the Earth and night. That was how Angels and Demons came to be. He smiled as he remembered his father's tales of old. They comforted him when he felt alone or depressed.
"I shall have your clothes done by the time you come back. This store isn't really that busy and I am pretty fast with a sowing machine," he winked. Of course the boy wouldn't know that magic made it fast. "Oh! Before you go! Introductions should be in order." He walked back to the boy and bowed slightly, his orange pony tail slipping out from under his hood. "You may call me Aki." |
"Thank you for the information and all. This is a lot more helpful than you know. I am so glad to get such wonderful help so thank you. I will see you at five, then. Until then I hope you take care. Wait... Did you just say Aki? I swear I have hear that name from somewhere. Maybe in a book or something? I do read a lot... Anyways it's a pleasure Aki. As I said before I get called Haru. My real name is long so they call me Haru for short. My true name is Harushikazu. Crazy name huh?" She chuckled lightly and left the shop.
Haruka made her way around cluelessly. Before she realized she had no idea where the park was it was too late to turn back. Haruka wondered through the streets like a lost puppy till she saw some woods with benches, people, and a stone path. Since the sign was called Carl Park she figured this was the place Aki talked of. She strolled on the stone path for most of the hour and once a load cloack tolled five Haruka set out to get back to Aki. |
Aki watched the boy leave, hoping that they wouldn't get lost. If he had to find him, he would be able to. Magic came in handy in more ways than one. He smiled to himself and set about creating the clothes and dress for Haru. Using his nails to trace the outline and magic to mend it together, he had finished all the clothing articles by the time the clock struck 5.
Glancing up from his work, he saw that Haru hadn't come back just yet. Frowning slightly, he went about his usual routine of locking up the store. The owner would come in the morning and know where everything was. He bagged the clothes and took 20 gold coins from the register, replacing it with fake money. He did this often and the owner had never noticed. At least this would give him a night at the inn and dinner. Thought he might as well give Haru a better place to stay. As he locked the store, paper bag in hand, he heard approaching feet. He glanced up, smiling as he saw Haru making his way up the cobbled street. "Glad to see you didn't get too lost," he called out to him. |
Haruka made her way around, getting lost again. She wondered around as quick as she could. She had promised to meet back up with Aki and she didn't plan to break her word the first day on Earth. But this world so so very confusing. Being stuck in her room all day was still worse, though. There was no way she would go back now. Haruka was just starting to learn what this world was like. Everything was so wonderful to her. The city was so wonderful with it's bright colors and life.
When Haruka noticed Aki up ahead she dashed over to him happy. She was so glad he had waited for her. She knew that she was late and she honestly felt guilty. Her hair began to slip from it's boyish style thanks to all her running and it soon all fell down to it's original length, now looking like the girl she really was. "Thank you so much for waiting for me. I am sorry I got lost on the way back. It won't happen anymore once I get a map. In fact a map would be really useful since I am new here." Haruka smiled as she spoke gently and started to fix her hair back into place. |
Aki noticed the long hair, but didn't speak of it. The colour had brought back memories of the War. He wondered how a human could have such a colour, but shook his head. It was stupid to think that Haru was really an Angel. Why would an Angel be among the citizens? They didn't like getting dirty. He chuckled and ruffled the boy's head. "Once the store opens tomorrow, we can go get you a map." He didn't have to work again until the 4th day. It would be enough time to set Haru up.
"The city can be a bit confusing. It took me weeks to get used to it," he spoke as he led the way down the near empty lane and towards the bustling main road. "Stay close, it is easy to get swept away in the rush," he instructed, easily moving through the crowd because he was so tall. A few of the humans stopped or looked back at him, but never said anything. "We will stay at the Fox and Chicken tonight," he called over his shoulder. "They make this delicious pasta salad. You must try it." |
Haruka happily followed Aki along. She was glad he didn't suspect she was a girl. She had heard words that women were in danger on Earth but this sound more serious than most rumors. Then again what rumors could she trust? "Wow it is a pretty big city then, huh? A map would be great. We are staying somewhere? I thought I would be staying at your home. But an inn sounds okay too. What kind of food is that? It sounds neat. I would like to try it while I am here. Hopefully I can stay here for a long time but you never know when something could drive you away from everything you love. I won't let these things be taken from me that easily though. I really like this world..." Haruka spoke gently as she followed beside Aki. She looked forward with determination.
|
Aki laughed at Haru's energy. He must have been around the same age as his little brother, Fuyu, a boy with enormous amounts of energy and curiousity about the world. He grit his teeth. Now Fuyu would never see the world with him. Under his cloak, he clutched at the necklace made by his brother. It had been his first creation with magic, a small wood carving of a cat. When Aki got a job in the army, Fuyu had given it to him as a keepsake while he was away.
"Big brother! See the world for me! I'll be waiting to hear your stories!" his brother cried from beside his mother and father. Aki was marching into battle against a few Angels seen outside of the Kingdom. They had no idea it was a trap. When they returned to the war torn city, Aki had run straight to the burned down house. He found his mother and father's bodies, cradled in each other's arms. His brother's corpse was outside, as if he had been dragged from the house. Aki had collapsed with grief, screaming his agony towards the Heavens, to the unknown Gods who would allow this to happen. Aki felt his nails digging into his palms as he had clenched his fists tightly. He willed himself to calm down and stopped outside of the inn. It was a small building, but pleasant looking from the outside. On the sign it had a picture of a fox sitting at a table with a chicken. He smiled at it and went inside. There was a welcoming fire in the hearth and a small room full of chairs. Men drunk noisely and barmaids brought them their ale. Aki went to the counter, where a fat lady sat watching them. "Excuse me Madam, I would like to rent a room for two," he spoke, jingling the coins in his hand. She glanced behind him at the strange looking boy and then back at the tall man. "That will be 10 gold coins," she said, turning around to get some small keys of a rack. She gave them to him without another word. Aki had stayed before and knew where the room was located. Weaving through the drunken men, a firm grip on Haru, he led them up a small flight of stairs and into a shabby door. The room was small, with two single beds and a bed stand. Aki pulled the curtains closed and lit the lamps. He never really liked sunlight. "Tomorrow we shall go into town. As for now... Let's rest up before we go down to the restaurant." |
Haru followed him inside happily. Looking around curiously she wondered why the men had bright red faces and what had caused them to slur their speaches so oddly. They acted so weirdly and she noticed their drinks added to the effect of their actions. Was is the drink that caused them to be this way? She looked very curious but slipped from these thoughts as Aki pulled her along to their room. The room also surprised her. It was so... full of color. It was completely different from her white prison she used to lay in. She felt joy rise up in her core as she sat on the bed nearest to the window and gazed out of it happily until Aki closed the curtains. Without complaining she turned to him. "We can keep it closed for now but I really want to open them up later tonight, okay? I want to see the stars."
|
"Yes, that will be ok," Aki agreed. He enjoyed seeing the night sky, as he was himself a creature of the night. "The bright light hurts my eyes too much," he added, explaining why he had shut the curtains. He placed the bag down on the end of Haru's bed. "Your clothes are in there. They should be warm when it's cold and cool when it is warm." That was the reason why Demon material was highly sought after. Angel's armour and weapons were incredible, the Holy Metals they used were indestructible and eternally sharp.
Turning his back on the boy, he took his cloak off. He undid his pony tail and arranged his hair so it would cover his small horns. The other Demons used to make fun of the tiny stubs. Now he was thankful they were so small. |
Haruka smiled as she gently took the bag. She shuffled through it until she came up on the silver and pulled it out so she could see the whole dress. It was just like how she had pictured it. She wanted to put it on already. She could just picture herself dancing along happily in it. "It's very good clothing you made here. You are really good at making it... Thank you. To be honest this is the heat gift I have ever gotten. I forgot how wonderful it is to touch cloth and travel around. I really like it though. Thank you for everything Aki." She glanced at him, noticing his bright hair. "Why do you wear that cape? You look better without it."
|
Aki grinned toothily, showing off his sharper than normal canines. Even though he filed them down, they still looked sharper than a normal human's. He was glad that Haru hadn't said anything about his deep red eyes. "My appearance frightens people," he said. "Along with my height, I do look rather intimidating." He, of course, didn't say anything about hiding his true self. The part of him that everyone hated and that he had started to dislike.
"Shall we go to dinner now?" he asked. He opened the door, listening for any rowdy drunks. It seemed to have gone quiet downstairs, which meant that the worse of the drunks had been asked to leave. They walked down the small staircase and walked through the bar to a small room that wasn't open before. Nice smells of all kinds of food wafted from the small kitchen. Aki motioned to a table with two chairs, sitting down after Haru. They picked up the menus and ordered their meals, Aki going for the mentioned pasta salad. He wasn't a big fan of meat. |
Haruka looked at him curiously. His red eyes somehow reminded her of a creature she couldn't name at the moment. She didn't study other worlds as much as Earth though, so she couldn't place a name. He could be wearing contacts too. She had seen some humans with crazy bright colors for hair and eyes just by walking around. They had so much freedom she was jealous of it. "You aren't really that scarey to me. I would rather be friends with you than be scared just because you are a little different. You see that's the problem with everyone. They look at what they can't understand and then miss lable that person. I don't want to be that way. I want to experience every part that is true here."
Haruka smiled as she happily followed Aki out of the room after explaining herself. She regretted the fact she couldn't exactly be herself, but she wasn't lying. The only thing she had to hide was her true self. It was the only way to be free at this point, and she had so badly wanted this. Sitting across from Aki she looked around. Now that the place was more peaceful she couldn't help but observe. Everything here was nicely done and put together carefully. She could tell that the owner probably loved this place. It must of been sad to see it get ruined by funny acting men. She turned back when he ordered something. "Huh? I just tell this person what I want? Um... then I want to try that stuff you said was pretty good. Are you sure it's ok to just say what you want like that? Some people dislike being ordered around, right?" Haruka looked at the waiter in worry, feeling guilty. "Please forgive him mister. Thank you for checking on us. I am pleased to see it's really true people care for my well being. I'm so touched by your act of kindness. Thank you!" |
The waiter looked a bit dumbstruck, but thanked Haru and left with their orders. Aki rested his elbows on the table and hooked his fingers together, resting his chin on his hands. He surveyed his companion with bright interest. He was acting just as Aki had when he had first came to this city. "You act like someone who isn't human," he said suddenly, smiling kindly to show he didn't mean any offence. "I heard that some Demons came here after the War. They acted exactly like how you did... Unfortunately... That was very obvious..." He sighed, wondering if he was the only Demon left alive.
Their meals arrived and Aki tucked in, eating the pasta with the cutlery provided. It was tangy and delicious, just as he had remembered it. "The waiter is here to serve us. Without customers this place wouldn't make money. Don't feel like you are bossing them around. When you come to these places, the work for you," he explained. He had always been dumbstruck at how humans worked. It was like he was royalty every time he went into a store. "Would you like something to drink?" he asked, as the waiter came around again to ask if they needed anything. "I feel like a nice red wine myself." |
