Dominic looked at the princess as he stood. "I do. How are you sure you can trust him? He may have saved your life but he could be waiting for a chance to kill you himself. He is also a weak fighter. How can you be sure that he will be able to protect you?" He asked as he looked at Jasper and scowled.

Jasper glared at dominic, "I would never harm the princess, even when you caught me I never had any intentions of harming anyone." He growled at Dominic, "and I may not be a strong fighter, but I am a smart one. So I will be able to protect the princess, I can promise you that." he said as he looked at Dominic in the eyes. Clear determination in them.

Mariki looked at Jasper as she smiled and looked at Dominic. "There you have it." She said before starting to stand up and picked up her basket. Her eyes closed as she walked towards the door of the office. "That's all. I will give Jasper a room in the castle. Thank you for your time, Captain." Dominic let her walk to the door before smiling. "I wonder how your parents will feel once I give them my report."

Jasper smiled when he heard Mariki and watched her stand up. He then moved to follow her out of the room and smiled over at dominic. He gave him a nod and hoped that he trusted him when it came to protecting hte princess, because he was going to. Though when he heard Dominic's comment about his report he wasn't sure that he liked it and just watched him as he stuck to Mariki's side as she walked to the door.

She stopped in front of the door as she heard Dominic's words and clenched her hands. "Go ahead and tell them. Then you will no longer be my friend." Mariki said as she opened the door and left the room. "Jasper....you better be prepared to protect her. A lot of people are after her." Dominic said to Jasper as he sat at his desk.

Jasper frowned when he saw how upset Mariki got and was about to follow her when he heard Dominic. Turning to him, he nodded, "I will protect her with my life, no one will ever harm her on my watch." he said and then headed out after mariki. Walking besides her, he looked down at her, "are you okay?" he asked slightly worried.

Her eyes were covered by her hair as she tried not to show her emotions. "No." Mariki said as she clenched her hands harder. She started to run as they let the barracks and ran towards a tree. "This stinks."

Jasper frowned when he heard her and when she started to run, he ran after her. The instant she got to the tree, he jumped in front of her and wrapped his arms around her, "things will be okay." he said as he hugged her and tried to make her feel better.

Mariki panted as she reached the tree and started to cry. Her eyes went to Jasper as he wrapped his arms around as she blushed. "Jasper..." She hesitantly wrapped her arms around him and cried in his arms, again. Something she's only done with him. The brunette shook her head as she held onto him. "My mother will never let you remain at my side. She thinks I am a failure as a princess because I don't listen to her. If she does not approve of something, she tries to change it. She'll take you away from me."

Jasper held her close as she tried and gently started to stroke her head. He frowned when he heard her and continued to stroke her head gently, "that is if she can keep me away." he said to her softly as he held her close, "but nothing is going to keep me away from protecting you, okay." he said as he smiled down at her, "and your mother is wrong, you make a wonderful princess, the best I have ever met." he said and meant it. She was perfect to him and the most important person to him, nothing was going to force him away from her.

She felt him stroke her hair and smiled a little as he did. Mariki closed her eyes as he spoke softly to her and held onto him as she listened to his words. "Thank you, Jasper. I really appreciate you being her right now." Her eyes on him as she smiled at him and blushed a little as she looked at him.

Jasper smiled down at her and continues to stroke her head till she spoke, "no problem, princess, I am happy to be here for you." he said and smiled when he saw her blush. She looked cute with it and he smiled down at her, "now then why dont we go do something fun?" he suggested as he looked at her.

Her eyes stayed on him as she nodded and smiled. "Yeah. We need to find a horse that will go easy on you." Mariki said as she pulled back from him. She blushed as she brushed her hair back and looked towards the stables. The princess looked at the basket in her hand and decided to leave the basket at the stable.

Jasper smiled and nodded, "then lead the way, Mariki." he said as he felt her pull away but wish she didnt' have too. Seeing that blush on her cheeks was a treat though and he followed her towards the stable. ONce they got there he was amazed at all the horses, "how do I pick?" he asked as he looked at all of them.

Mariki smiled as she set the basket down and walked over to the horses. She stroked the neck of a white horse with a blonde mane. "This is my girl, Snow Belle. She's been with me since I was little." Her blue eyes stayed on her as the horse nuzzled her neck. "Hello, pretty girl." The princess looked over at Jasper and smiled. "Well, I guess I can pick one for you." She said as she looked at the horses.

Jasper smiled as he walked over to the horse but stayed a little bit away, unsure of the horse. "she looks nice." he said as he slowly walked over and placed a hand on the hose, petting it gently. He then turned and started to walk around, "uh which one do you think would be the best for me?" he asked as he looked over at the princess.

She looked at him then to the horses and thought for moment then smiled at Jasper. Mariki walked over to a brown horse with a white star on it's forehead and a black mane. "This is Autumn. She is a seasoned horse and has never bucked off a rider." Her eyes went to Jasper as she smiled and offered him her hand. "Give me your hand."

Jasper wathced as she walked over to a horse and slowly made his way over to her. Holding out his hand to her, he placed it in her hand and wondered if he would be able to ride a horse. They looked big enough to do anything they wanted with him if he pissed them off. Hopefully they would be nice to him though.

Her eyes went to him as she took his hand and placed it on Autumn's nose. "The first step is to get to know each other." Mariki said to him as she smiled at him. "You need to get to know your horse and trust her before you get on." She walked over to her horse and watched Jasper and Autumn.

Jasper nodded as he gently patted Autumn's nose and slowly started to get use to her, "okay, I think I can understand that." he said as he continued to pet the horse. After a little while he was completely comfortable around her and smiled as he continued to pet her. "what do horses like to eat?" he asked as he looked over at Mariki but kept a hand on his horse.

Mariki walked over to a bag of oats and took a handful. "Here, hold out your hands flat." She said to him while smiling at him. "Horses like carrots, oats, and sugar cubes." Her eyes on him as she felt their hands brush as she dumped the oats into his hands.

Jasper held out his hand to her and nodded, "I see, I never knew that." he said as he felt her hand brush against his and smiled a little bit as she looked at him. But he made sure not to stare and turned towards the horse and held out his hand. He smiled as Autumn started to eat from his hand.

She blushed a little and looked away from Jasper as she smiled. "You'll have to learn more about her." Mariki watched them as Autumn ate out of his hand. Her eyes closed as she grabbed Snow Belle's leather saddle. The brunette picked up the saddle and looked at Snow Belle.

Jasper smiled and nodded as he let Autumn finish eating from his hand. Stroking her head again he smiled, "I never dreamed I would be trying to ride a horse, or trying to be friends with one." he said and then looked over at Mariki, "but thank you, your the one who made this possible." he said happily.

Her eyes went to Jasper as she placed the saddle on Snow Belle's back. Mariki smiled at him and blushed a bit as she looked at him. "You don't need to thank me, Jasper." She said before looking away at him. "Shall we get her saddled so you go for a ride?" The brunette asked as she walked over to another saddle and started to lift it.
