Uncommon Meeting (Sid-chan and Iriel)
A dark world where many different species exist, humans are creating war and trying to destroy other peoples. Their greed and thirst for power and territory have led to this situation. Many humans are led to believe that all others are evil and must be destroyed.
Not all agree, but this has led to enough other races of people retaliating. A massive war is pending, one that could destroy the entire world. Will anyone step forward to stop this? My Characters: Nicholas: SPOILERNagendra: SPOILERRetha: SPOILER |

It was going to be a bad day, of that he was sure.
From the moment he had opened his eyes this morning, spotting that little arrogant mouse that had been busy trying to steal some of his herbs out of the low hanging basket. What did such a small monster think it was doing? Stealing from a naga.. Well it had been a tiny breakfast before he had gotten back to work. But even worse, the small bastard had left droppings on it's way around. So now he had to get some new dragon tongue grass as he was not going to use anything with mouse poop on it. He took his job seriously. Though he often moved out from the big old tree, that lead in to the small cave in the rock the old plant had decided to lean against, to find herbs and well his meals. The green tailed naga hated to go out at this time of day, with the sun up and the stupid happy birds singing, many others were out. The chances for meting some other Naga was higher then normal. But well what other choice did he have? He rubbed the damp clothes over his dark skin, for a split second the green circling tattoos that danced their way over his skin, seemed to almost glow. A few seconds and some sighs later his strong hand grabbed the sickle, the other brushed the waist long blond hair with the two green stripes back over the strong shoulders. Yasharan slowly slithered the way out of his home, the sun rays made the the apple green scales, on his long and strong tail shimmer. He breathed in deeply and let his tongue taste the air. There was a hurt deer not all that far from here, the scent of their blood was so sweet. But this was not the time to waste on that. He wanted to get the herbs and grass gathered first so he could get back home. As he made his way through the greenery something dawned on him. He had no basket to carry it all back home in. “This really is a bad day” he muttered showing his long fangs ends glistening with venom. Ah well there was not really much he could do about this now, he'd have to gather less then he had hoped for, but it should be enough till the next full-moon. So as long as the day went his way from now on, he'd forget his annoyance. OOC: Let me know if this post is okay. |
Nagendra stretched as he gave a large yawn. He'd just had a fairly large meal- a few birds and a sizeable lizard he'd come across, and now in the morning sun he was starting to feel sleepy. He would have been content to just coil up and sun himself, but he knew better than to simply do that. He'd learned quickly that humans were not fond of finding non-humans in 'their' territory. Even if they weren't actually in their supposed territory.
He slid along trying to find a good spot that was safe and still sunny at the same time. Spotting a tree that seemed to have those two qualities, he quickly climbed it. Once he climbed up, he found that he wasn't the first to have that idea. Someone was living there already. "Greetings?" He questioned aloud before waiting for an answer that never came. The naga looked around the place carefully, it was clear that it was well lived in. Shaking his head, it was not likely to be a good idea to stay there for long, the person living might be back soon. As he turned to leave, he spotted a mouse nibbling on the herbs that were hanging up. "Ah, somehow I do not think that is a good idea little mouse." He scooped it up between his hands and slid out of the home to find a new place for the mouse-thief. |
Tank life
The glass was stained and greasy from all the many hands and faces that had been pressed against it, so what he saw was rather fussy and unclear. But really he did not care. When he had been younger he had found it some what interesting in the different types of people that moved by, even tried to communicate a bit with some. But it didn't matter, it was not as if anything changed. It was a waste of time to care, to worry or notice anything. It made it all easier to just close down ones mind and just be. Each second was one closer to the big end. Nothing really mattered. Nothing.
The Octomer was still young, but he was clearly an adult now. Not that he much himself had noticed. This small tank where here could barely turn around, had been his life and home for as long as he could remember. The long purple tentacles seemed to just float around in the water, hardly moving at all like the long black dreadlocks of hair. The deep red eyes seemed to stare out but not at all seeing anything. He was for sale, or so it was claimed. The price tag was and always had been way to expensive for well almost anything. It wasn't clear if the old woman actually had any plans of ever selling him. As very rare as his races was, many believed it was more a form of showing off on her part. Everything else she sold, legal or not from her little wagon stand, seemed to have a price that could be negotiated, but not the price of Avion. That should matter to him, in most peoples eyes, but it did not. After all it wasn't really going to get him out of the tank or such. So why waste the time on who threw the small amount of food in? Though his skin did have a brown colour, it might seem darker do to the muck that had not really been cleaned off. Ever so often there be a bang on the glasses and he'd have to move around to show, whom ever was looking that yes, he was alive and not sick or mentally retarded. After all she'd lose peoples interest if that is had been the case. The torch to the right of the tank was giving him a headache, right side all bright and left side all dim. So the red eyes had slipped shut. The pointy almost fin shaped ears did pick up sounds, but they were mostly muffled by the water and do to not paying attention it was more like a weak distant constant buzzing in his ears. Maybe there was no sounds and it was just his brain still alive that made that sound. Didn't really matter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was a beautiful day, the tall grass moved in the wind, the scent of new baked bread and pies were in the air along with the sound of children laughing. People had started to gather for the main event of the second day of the week of festivities in this town of Tawnor Meadow. Well know for the Festival and of course the Mead , some of the finest there was. Today was the day of the archery event, hunters, rangers and even semi royals came to participate in this. All the people in the town were dressed as best they could and tried to make the town seem picture perfect, many was drawn in by the charm. The gardens with flowers and the houses with straw roofs, the smiles of the people there. A little boy with his green kite was not watching where he was running, cause he was staring with the wide brown eyes up at the kite soaring over him, laughing and making happy out breaks of “Wheee” he ran over the road laid with grey bricks. He did not even notice how close he was to ending his days under a hoof of a regal looking horse. Taller than every other horse in this town, the dapple-grey coat shone and the long white mane moved softly in the spring breeze and the long tail held proudly high. It stopped before hitting the boy, to his luck and stood there a few seconds looking after the child. The man perched in the beautifully markings and engraved honey coloured saddle, patted his hand against the soft neck of the beast, the fingers though clearly many they were longer than most. He said something to the hose that gave a small toss of it’s head before moving on. The beautiful carved bow on the back of the man showed clearly why he was here for, the handy work on the wood as well as on the saddle and the fine horse made people here sure this was one was of noble blood. Under the white silk hood and cape the blue eyes watched the place with a bored shine to them, why was he here? For a moment he almost forgot why he was in this.. Place. But as he turned he felt Midori against his back and it was all clear. He and Midori would show these.. people just what archery was, he reached back and trailed over Midori’s string. He sighed as he spotted the archery ring, where most of the contestants had already gathered. Some drooling over the price which was a chest of gold and mead along with a crest shield made with your family logo on. Others were trying to show off by good looks or other silly tricks. It made him want to roll his eyes, but what could he expect of these people? Finally he reached the place and in one fluid motion he slipped off of the horse and knew as he with his head held high walked elegantly in to the archery ring that most eyes were on him.. But then he understood it all too well. He waited a few moments before he with a move of his right hand pulled down the hood, the golden hair shimmered as it was hit by the sunlight, it was cut shirt though long enough for bangs to fall in to his face, the dark blue eyes were almond shaped and his features fine yet manly. He had pointy ears that showed his race, he was an elf a handsome one at that. His body was like that of an athlete, fit and muscular without being over the top and slightly tanned. Taiyo was his name and soon they’d all learn it and respect it as well as his people. After all.. these were just Humans. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FINALLY, he was back home, the frown that had played over the handsome features of the blond naga was starting to soften. Just a bit longer and he'd be back home. His strong hands filled with the newly cut herbs, the sickle in the middle of it all, like the center piece of a deadly bouquet. The amber eyes turned in to thin slits as he spotted not only another naga by his home but with a little mouse in his hand. The grumpy mind didn't need more then a second to make up some crazy story about how it must have been this guy that had caused the first mouse, to lure him out of the tree and now was there to either steal or take over the tree. But there was no way, that was going to happen. Had he been a rattle snake naga, the other would have been able to hear his warning already. The long fangs were bared and a single drop of venom glistened at the end, slowly he made the way up the last bit. The green markings on his body seemed to had a slight shine to them as he let out a deep hiss and glared straight at the other Naga. Maybe it was a bit over the top as it could by chance be one of the near by clans looking for help, but if that was the case, how had the other made it up here and sneaking around with a mouse? |
Black eyes watched from the tree line. The person at the wagon, the person in the glass cage, the wares being sold. The white-haired individual frowned as they crouched down. He kept coming across bizarre customs in these humans and the other beings on the surface. To them, all surfacers were odd simply in the fact that they seemed to actually enjoy the surface while still hating each other. Especially the humans.
Retha watched the captive in the glass cage, feeling that there was something terribly wrong with what was going on. Looking down, they spotted a nice rock. Picking it up, and reveling in the feel of something familiar in their hand, they began aiming. First the torch. second the cage. If they had to, the old woman too. Not the first time Retha had fought with someone, and in the strange surface world, likely wouldn't be the last. The dark elf let loose the first stone, aiming for the torch, in the hopes that it would fall towards the wagon, or at least fall. They then quickly picked up another stone and aimed for the cage, praying to the stone below that the rock would break, or at least crack the glass cage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As the black-haired naga was leaving the tree home with the mouse in hand, he froze, hearing the faint sound of someone, followed by the sound of a hiss. The owner of the space had returned, and here he was in their home, this couldn't look any more suspicious than it did, well, short of carrying off some of their possessions in his hands. Nagendra looked slowly over at the owner, another tree-dwelling naga. He didn't hear much about any tree dwelling nagas in the area, had something happened to them? Or had there never been any and he'd just taken up residence here at some point. He made no aggressive moves, in fact, he barely moved at all, as he was certain that any moves at this point would likely be taken as an aggressive act. After a bit of hesitation, he finally spoke up. "Many apologies... I had not realized at first that this was someone's home." He said, his manner of speech hinting that he was likely a noble from his original clan. "I am a long way from home and do not know these lands well. I do apologize for intruding upon your... home." He slowly shifted the struggling mouse in his hands so that it wouldn't escape back into the blonde naga's home. ~~~~~~~~~ Just outside the small town of Tawnor Meadow there stood an ancient tree, the trunk was huge and took several men together to be able to reach around the trunk. Several feet off the ground sat a red-headed man. He had arrived a couple days prior and spent each night sleeping in the tree. The hustle and bustle of activity in preparation for the festival had drawn him in and kept him there. Particularly when the villagers had mentioned mead and archery. Both were intriguing things to him, so he had stuck around and helped with setting things up, which had earned him free food in the process. The archery event had been of particular interest to him, as his talents had always laid in archery, no matter how they'd tried to get him to use other weapons as well. Slipping out of the tree, he landed on the ground with a thud in a crouching position. After standing up straight, he dusted himself off and ran his hands through his long red hair. He didn't have to look super pretty, he was here to be in the contest, and if he stood out less then it'd be unexpected if he won. As he stepped into the village, green eyes caught sight of the elf that rode in on his horse. He smirked and shook his head while the others watched with envy. He followed the man into the archery ring, knowing that they were there for the same reason. Upon approaching, he reached out and pat the horse gently. "So is the horse as snooty as I'm sure the arrogant pretty elf is?" He asked in a tone loud enough that he was sure the elf heard. He had no issues with the race like many humans did, but the arrogance seemed to simply emanate from this man. He smiled up at the handsome horse before turning and following the elf. Nicholas hadn't entered out of greed, nor to show off, but simply because using the bow was as natural as breathing to him. His own bow was well worn but taken care of at the same time, simply carved with only a few markings to show his family crest. "So what brings the high and mighty elf down amongst the lowly humans?" He asked Taiyo, showing no regard to the fact that they were a noble and he... well he looked like he'd slept in a tree. |
The young octomer didn't notice anything about the first stone. Nor did he really care. After all nothing mattered. It was all pointless. It was the same day after day after day. What time of day it was, what day of the week it was.. None of it mattered.
But suddenly there was a tiny reaction as some thing actually hit the glass. The sound and the small chink surprised him and for a moment there seemed to be a bit of life in those eyes. But as nothing else happened, the young male returned to the dazed stated of mind. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yasharan hissed and bared the long fangs at the other naga "Get away from here or die" He was not about to be a nice and hospital man, even less when he did not believe a single word that the other male let out. Why was here there and holding a mouse if he didn't think it was a home? These nagas were not to be trusted, he pushed a side that the other had made it here and might not be an earth dweller. It didn't matter, strangers were strangers and they were not of the same clan, after all his was all gone. No way such a fancy tail bastard was here by accident. He was not going to be fooled and lose his home and his life!. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The light haired elf looked the other over and lifted a brow before he returned to what he was doing. The silly human had at the least taken his hands off of his horse and now he tried to rally him up with being rude and ignorant. It was not at all worth to comment or react on. Just the look and the brow movement had been too much already, but then he wasn't perfect. Well next to these humans he was, but as an true elf he could still improve a little. OOC: finally got it done. sorry it is so short. but I wanted it done |
The first rock had hit its target and caused the torch to wobble. After a few seconds of watching, it finally fell. It simply fell to the ground before spluttering out in the soil. Retha was pleased that they'd hit, their aim had not failed, though it was not as powerful as hoped. What disappointed the most was more the fact that the cage had not broken. Only a small chip out of the glass.
Frustrated, but undeterred, the young elf sat down to think about how they were going to do this. The glass cage was tough, only a bare chip out of it from the sacred rocks. What else would be a good way of doing this? The cage was too big to carry, tipping over was probably just as difficult, especially with the old woman watching. If she hadn't noticed that stone, throwing several would likely catch her attention. How to rescue the person trapped in that prison then? Maybe it would be easier if they could knock out or distract the old woman somehow first? That sounded like a good idea. Though... if the tank would break from a slightly bigger rock first, that would be easier. At least it seemed so in the dark elf's mind. Looking around carefully, Retha spotted a bigger rock. This one looked even more ideal as it looked hard, and ended in a point on one end. Lucky. "If this doesn't work then I'll distract her before trying to smash the glass prison." They mumbled aloud. Picking up the rock, and feeling it in their hand, the elf smiled. This one felt lucky. Now to find out! Aiming carefully, the dark elf let loose the stone, throwing with all their might, hoping that this time would work, but not entirely certain. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The black-haired naga remained frozen in place, certain that any move at all would end up with the other naga attacking. He barely even breathed as he stared at the blonde naga. It had been a rustic, but comfortable little home that the angry naga had there, and he didn't want to ruin it by making the wrong movement. So for now he'd remain still. That was, until the mouse in his hand got upset enough that it bit him. Flinching, he moved his hand instinctively, which was enough for the mouse to make its escape. It fled from the tree home and disappeared into the leaves of the tree. Glancing away from the angered snake at his finger, he noticed the blood, but wasn't sure what he should do. Stillness seemed like the best idea, but bleeding all over their home wasn't the best idea. "Sorry... It escaped. It might return." He apologized softly, glancing over in the direction that the mouse had fled. "I had hoped to remove it before the owner had returned, but I failed." He backed away slowly, making sure that his movements were slow and deliberate. |
Things had again seemed to be back to normal, just drifting in the dirty water like always, just breathing in the same muck and suddenly falling through the air after a strange sound, falling on sharp shards, the water, if one could still call it that, draining away and lungs now gasping in breaths of air. That whole last bit was not at all normal and while trying to breath the now wide opened eyes looked around in utter confusion and disbelief. This was not possible, things didn't change. It was everything had literally been turned upside down and you just had to cling on till you woke up, but it was a really bad idea to cling to the shards of thick dirty glass. The octomer was a fish out of water. ---------- Post added 07-11-2013 at 01:55 PM ---------- "Well let us just hope you will never come back" Spat the blond Naga as he slowly still with his poisonous fangs bared slithered his way closer to the other male. He did not buy any of the weird and silly story the other was telling. The amber eyes burned their way through the other naga. Would he now need to find a different home? Who knew what this guy else had brought and when he killed him they'd come.. wouldn't they and try to end his clan once and for all. But he wasn't going to die that easily. |
Nicholas rolled his eyes. Of course the elf would ignore him. He thought he was just that much better than everyone. The red-head didn't believe it, then again why would he believe that some people were superior simply because of how they were born? That made no sense to him.
After checking in, he started stretching when an idea struck him. The idea made him chuckle before he turned and walked over to the elf. "I have a wager for you." He started, figuring that the man in front of him was so confident he would win that there was no way he would refuse the wager. "If you win, I'll be your indentured servant... for a year. If I win..." He glanced over at the handsome horse waiting for its master. "I take your horse." He didn't particularly need the horse, but the opportunity to take someone who acted so superior down a peg sounded rather amusing. Perhaps then he wouldn't act so arrogantly. ---------- Post added 07-12-2013 at 02:00 AM ---------- Retha had mostly expected nothing more than just another chip, or maybe a crack would have happened. A leak would have been impressive after the last attempt. When the glass just exploded and the disgusting water within just gushed out, the dark elf stared in disbelief for a moment before running forward. They'd probably need to grab up the prisoner that was contained within the glass. No one else had seemed interested in rescuing them anyways. Running forward, they quickly approached the shocked octomer in the center. Hesitating for a brief second, the elf then scooped the other person up and ran. "I saved you from your glass prison! You are free now!" They said as they ran, hoping to get as far away from the old woman as possible before stopping. Or at least until the person struggled and tried to escape their arms. |
Nagendra had been about to turn to leave when the blonde naga approached him. "Me? I hadn't meant to intrude upon another tree naga's home." Thinking about his travels thus far, he actually couldn't recall having seen another tree naga since he'd left his family's territory. Why was that? There was no way he could have missed them all, was there?
"Are... are you all alone here? Are there none of your tribe left?" He asked softly, concerned for the angry naga in front of him, even though they were dripping venom and clearly warning him to leave. The naga prince didn't have a death wish, though was certain that no one would even notice if he died, or simply never came back. His parents had so many other children that there was no way he would ever be in any important role in the family. |
Taiyo lifted a brow as the light eyes settled on the human "MY horse, My horse, do you even know what an elven horse is, not like the simple creatures you ride" Though the normal horses to him were even above these humans. "But I will take your silly challenge, though, I have no need of a servant. Least of all of your .. kind" He let out and brushed a leaf off of his shoulder.
His pride was getting the better of him and he knew it was foolish. But there was no chance he would ever lose to a human. He send his horse a look and she let out a snort as if not all that happy with the whole situation. He trailed a finger over the bow and breathed in, there was no need to worry, at all. The soft wind made the light locks move ever so lightly. There were lights and sounds and he felt him self being dragged. But right now none of this, made any sense to the octomer. After years of the same and the same, everything was different and looked and sounded different, even the smells were different. He felt sick to his stomach, his eyes burned and his lungs were cramping. Strange feelings under his tentacles. Yes, nothing made sense. It had to be a dream, any moment now he'd wake.. right.. Right? Yash hissed again at the other male "I know what you are up to and it will not work, you will not leave this place alive" Kill or be killed, it was that simple. The long blond hair waved in the air as he slowly moved even closer to the other naga, the long sharp fangs still bared and ready to strike. |
Nicholas grinned, Taiyo's arrogance had put him exactly where the human wanted him. In a situation where he could very well lose something precious to him. "Oh? So now the horses owned by humans are simple is it? I've known horses that were owned by humans that were quite intelligent. Mine was. Too bad I had to leave her behind when I left my home." A home he had no plans to go back to at any point. All he'd ever done while there was train or study. He barely even had time to sleep.
Now that he was free to go wherever he wanted, he did just that. He went where he wanted, did what he wanted and as long as he did enough to survive, that typically made him happy. Holding out his hand to the elf, he smiled. "Let's shake on it then, make it an official wager." He glanced over at the horse. "Don't worry, I'll treat you well!" ---------- Post added 07-17-2013 at 02:15 PM ---------- Nagendra blinked, he was rather confused. "What I'm up to? Why would you kill me for wanting to try to convince the humans to stop destroying the lands? Or for wanting to find a tree where I could safely rest?" He didn't move, that would likely only provoke the angry naga even more. "What do you think I am up to?" He asked, curious, though it was likely that his question would provoke the angry blonde even more. He just hoped that he could figure out what exactly was angering them so much. ---------- Post added 07-17-2013 at 02:37 PM ---------- Retha ran until they thought they were a safe distance away from the old woman and the broken glass prison. The elf hadn't taken a chance to think about what it meant, the fact that the tank had been full of water, nor were they thinking about it yet. Coming to a stop, they pulled the octomer off of their shoulder and set them on the ground. "You're free now, no more glass prison." Retha said in a cheerful tone, as they grinned at the being in front of him. "How long did that old woman keep you in that glass prison? I'm sure it was too long!" Then again, any amount of time in a prison was certainly too long. They shouldn't have been in it in the first place. |
"Human, our horses are a totally different race, they have bigger brains and stronger and more elegant frames, they link them-self to a person and can communicate on a higher level than what you call a horse. It is not a good idea to try and insult something that you do not know or comprehend" Taiyo answered and let out a small snort. "Shake your hand? What? Is my word not believable enough for you?" The light haired elf was not one to do well with humans talking, what he'd consider badly, about his horse or race.
Avion was still panting in a try to feel like he could breath, but the shallow breaths were making him feel lightheaded and hyperventilating even more. The long tentacles waved a bit helpless in the air and almost jerked back when they touched the ground. After all air and ground was nothing like the water. So though he did hear the other talking, right now he couldn't focus on what they might be saying or if he even understood it. Yasharan hissed still at the other male "What they are all up to, my death, but I will end you first, you and your mouse friend" the long haired blond answered and flickered out the long forked tongue. Soon he was as close to the other naga as it was possible without them actually touching each other "So I'll let you try to strike first" maybe someone else would have told the smaller naga to get out of there, but Yasharan knew that if he actually did that, there was a great possibility that the other would return with more people to kill him and it was easier to take them one at a time or at the least one fewer when the rest of them came. He was not at all in a state of mind to think , that the other might actually not be up to anything evil |
Nicholas rolled his eyes when he was getting 'lectured' by the elf, because clearly the human was totally ignorant of everything around him. "So when I win your horse, I'll learn what I do not about soon to be my lovely horse. Nor was I insulting her."
Then of course, the elf questioned his desire to make the bet official. "And if I do not? Forgive this human, but I have been burned enough times in the past on such wagers when they were not made official such as to not trust other people at simply their word. So, no, your word is not believable enough for me." The red-head almost added that he also wanted to push the arrogant elf to touch the dirty humans that he felt he was so much better than. Nicholas wasn't exactly the cleanest individual there. Not for lack of hygene, but for lack of regular bathing areas, and, well, living most of the time in the wild. One would not consider themself clean after having slept in a tree for the night. Nagendra blinked, a bit confused. Death? "Hold on, so you think that I planned on using... a mouse... to kill you? That seems a bit, well, for back of a better term, stupid. Besides, if I wanted you dead, do you not think that I would have struck by now? I am not without venom myself, and could easily poison you. Yet, I have shown no aggression, no signs like I intend to attack." He shook his head slowly and sighed. "If you intend to wait for me to strike first, then you'll be waiting forever. I have no intention of attacking another tree snake." He didn't take his eyes off of him either, but if they were waiting for him to attack, perhaps they might calm down if he didn't attack. Either that, or he'd snap and try to kill him. Either way, Nagendra had only the misfortune of finding the other naga's home only in the attempt to find a resting place for himself. "Whatever you do decide to do, I do hope you choose soon. I am rather tired, and need to get some rest before I continue on my journey." Retha blinked and stared a bit confused at the octomer before him. He was breathing rather heavily, rather like they had just run a great distance. Though they hadn't. "Are you okay?" They asked, a bit worried, as they reached forward and placed a hand on Avion's shoulder. "Did I do wrong in releasing you from the glass prison?" The elf couldn't see how anyone would enjoy being kept in that glass prison, though maybe that wasn't the issue, and the water he had been contained in was? "Do you need water?" They asked, wide-eyed. Retha hadn't seen any major bodies of water in a few days. Just a couple mud puddles occasionally, and that was surely not going to be enough for the creature that they'd saved. |
