Ahhhh Dragons!
(Horrible at names. v.v Hope you like this post, I worked hard on it.)
"Three thousand years ago, exactly from today, was the first time two Dragons partnered with us. Ariath and Eveloth flung themselves from the very walls you are standing on, with two human clinging to their backs for dear life. They spit fire below, and destroyed hundreds of demons waiting to prey on the helpless humans hidden inside of here." "But, even before that time, the Demons haven't stopped coming. They've gotten smarter. More cunning. But so have we. All of you have been selected by a Dragon. All of you have received your eggs. But all of you still have years and years of training.. When you throw it away for useless pranks, you destroyed the legacy of the Dragons. You are dishonoring them, spitting in their faces. Really, what were you thinking?" The large man sat straight in his chair and glared across the desk at three various youths. His gaze kept returning to the one in the middle. The dark hair youth was clearly not listening, lounging in his chair, and picking at a piece of lint. Once he realized the male was waiting for a response, the boy launched into a well rehearsed non-apology. "The dragons were ready for weight, and we just wanted to give them a bit of exercise. Then the sheep looked like good practice. We didn't hurt any, so I don't see what the big deal it!" "You make us look like a joke, Merrik!" "No, I just showed the farmer how well we can do!" Merrik protested, his ice blue eyes shimmering with laughter. The General's face was turning a splotchy red. "YOU...you..." The General sputtered for a moment, then his eyes went out of focus, a sign his dragon was speaking to him. Once he was done, he sighed softly. "You'll do bedding duty for the rest of the week. The three of you, so maybe you'll stop listening to him. Go..." The three grinned and darted from the room, to their waiting dragons. It was a bright shining day, and the red, green and ice blue dragons basked happily. Merrik said his goodbyes to his friends, and laughed about their illegal adventure, but Merrik stopped talking once his blue shifted. The blue dragon lifted it's head, it's iridescent eyes swirling with happiness. ~Talk too much?~ Merrik smiled at the voice that filled his head, and his alone. "Always, love. Come on, let's get you oiled." Merrik moved down the stairs, while his dragon followed alone quickly. Merrik had lived here for seven years now. Each student had morning classes, where they sat in desks and copied various texts, and learned commands, ect. Then they had afternoon leisure time. Which there was usually no leisure about. They had chores for everyday, and this was usually the only time to do them. Then there was oiling your dragon, and feeding them. The best part of the day? When Merrik snuck out of his dorm to sleep in the stables with his lovely dragon. They reached the 'Pond', a huge bathing pit for the dragons, and he watched the ice blue form splash around happily. He hadn't had a good childhood. He'd been poor. Poor as in, he hadn't ever held a piece of money. His family...well, he didn't like to think of them. Suffice it to say, the day the beautiful white dragon had landed in his village, and Merrik was selected, was still unbelievable. The only thing that made it believable was the day those ice blue scales broke out of the robin's colored egg, looked straight at him, and promptly bit him, demanding food. His dragon was his life, and Merrik wouldn't have it any other way. The beast came back, and flopped down in front of Merrik, letting out a loud squawk. ~Rubs now?~ "Yeah, sweetling. Let me get the oil." Merrik dug out the can, sitting down and starting to oil his dragon. It was going to be a long boring day. http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/f/20...13-d3blfd4.jpg http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thin...=l&tid=5866942 ('Cept with blue-ie-er eyes. ^u^) |
The red dragon and its rider flies across the skies returning to the base after training with his teacher and dragon close behind him. The dragon lands in the field where most of the dragons land at. It was a very successful training session. And both of the riders was please mostly it was all thanks to Alistair's master.
"That's all for today Alistair. You did well I'm sure the general will be please." Master Jiro says to Alistar, as the men dismount from their dragons. Alistair pushes up his glasses and nods, "It is thanks for your teaching. There are a lot of students hoping to have your guide." chuckles lightly petting his dragon. It been years since he had received his dragon egg and started his training. He was always the top of all his classes causing some who didn't do so well to be jealous. He didn't mind he respect his dragon and the laws that by it. Jiro nods and turns around heading to the door "I'll go and report this to the general you have free time until then." waves disappearing in the doors. ~That training was easy.~ his dragon soon begans to speak in his mind. Alistair looks over at him and nods "Of course you and I move as one. Some of the other riders and dragons don't get it at all." shrugged a bit. "It is going to be amazing if they do gradate from the academy..." looking around. Alistair stretches and yawns a little "Lets go get you something to eat." ~Of course I'm starving..~ the dragon would follow Alistair to the stables so the red dragon get something to eat. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ps9b01d357.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...247687yq-2.jpg |
His dragon purring and rolling around, Merrik continued to oil the shining scales. Eventually, he was joined by Mira and Daven. They had joined him when he had split for the group and gone to 'round up the sheep'. And Mira was his best friend here. If Merrik had liked female's, he would wish his dragon, Seijun, would mate with Mira's Daven. It was common knowledge Dragons and Riders commonly selected the same mates. So, to be honest, it was a good thing his dragon was female. Hopefully, it would mean he'd end up with some hottie. While he didn't hide that he liked males, it wasn't something he shouted about, and Mira had proven herself a trusted friend, and knew Merrik well.
Mira cast him a questioning glance. "Why do you do that when you think?" "Do what?" Merrik blinked, confused. "Wrinkle your nose? It's weird. Stop it." Daven bumped noses with Seijun, before turning to his rider. Mira happily began to oil him. Merrik snorted, tossing a bit of sand towards the female. "You're just jealous, 'cause I look cute when I do it." Mira rolled her eyes in response, before something caught her attention. "Check it out." Merrik's eyes followed hers. She was fawning over The redhead headed towards the stables. His huge red dragon followed along quietly. Alistair. First in their class. Except for Aerobics. That final was next week, and Merrik was pretty sure he would place first in that. The male rolled his eyes. The dragons would probably not be able to breed for a few years, but they had started to try and gain the attention of the others. And apparently, Alistair's dragon was a big commodity. Even Seijun perked up, lifting her head high. Merrik playfully swatted her sholder. "Anyone but that jerk." "Jerk? He's not a jerk! So smart, and handsome." Mira replied with a scoff. "Wish Daven was a girl." Her dragon snorted and stomped towards the pool while Mira continued to fawn. "More like arrogant. I doubt that man ever smiles." Mira grabbed Merrik's arm and began dragging him towards the pair quickly. Mira grinned evilly. "Oh, he will. I'll make him smile!" Merrik rolled his eyes. "You know how many people must fawn over him every d-?" He paused when they came into earshot. "Hiii...." Mira chirped to the red head happily. Merrik slouched. "How are you? Your dragon is so pretty! I don't think we've talked much...I'm Mira...I ride the green in the water over there. I saw you in the training session today. You did amazing... I was wondering if you could teach us a few of those maneuvers?" Merrik fought the urge to gag as the female continued to gush. He folded his arms, peering at the dragon, then the rider. The dragon was big, and he looked strong. And Alistair was cute up close. And Merrik hadn't realized he wore glasses. No matter though. His goal was to beat this boy, not evaluate his looks. His blue eyes left the pair, landing on Seijun, who had realized her rider had left the shore, and was watching curiously. Finally, she bound over, Daven following. Both dragons cooed the red, reaching out necks to sniff him. |
Alistair removes his rider's glove and place them in his bag pocket. He heads over gathering the food that Kage liked to eat. Mainly he like chicken a lot but Alistair also gave him some beef. After all he wanted his dragon nice and strong. That's why he seem to be bigger than the other dragons was here.
Hearing voices behind him before the female spoke. They was talking about them since he caught some of what they was saying. It was true a lot of the female riders was always fawning over him just because his looks. But he wasn't interested in females of course it was fun to flirt with them. He always got a kick about it but he never let anything go to far with the flirting. Alistair sighs deeply hearing the female's request. Here we go again, he thought and Malik had heard him. ~Alistair you just might as well...she isn't going to leave you alone.~ Malik says in his mind with a chuckle. The red dragon turns his head looking over at the female dragons as he turns around facing them. Alistair looking at Malik before he looks back over at Mira and Merrik. "Uh....thank you...I'm Alistair Lhant." As the Lhant family was the riches family and they also help with the funds with the academy. "I can teach you but not him." He looks at Merrik as he would place a finger in the middle of his glasses as he spoke. "I'm not sure you can handle the maneuvers." Plus he had heard about Merrik and a few others how they don't really take things seriously around here. And the maneuvers that his master had taught him had to be taking serious for both the dragon and the rider. The demons was getting smarter since the last war so it would take everything they have both in skill and thru bond. He looks back over at Mira as he place his hands into his pocket. "But it won't be today thru, Malik needs to rest after our session." says. |
"Alistair..." Mira practically drooled over the name, though, of course, she had known it. "Oh, I understand completely. I usually spend Leisure down by the pond. Any day you'd like is just fine....I'll be waiting..." Mira giggled and wiggled her fingers.
Merrik, however, had a completely different expression. He was staring at Alistair in disbelief. "Seijun would wipe the walls with your dragon. She's so skinny and quick. She can move faster than your empty head can form a thought!" He paused to glance at Mira. "I told you he was arrogant! I bet he can't even back up his talk." The male's piercing blue eyes moved back to Alistair, the challenge shining on his face. "I'll race you. Through the back mountains." Merrik gestured behind them, to the tall, tight knit mountains the Twelfth Years practiced on. Technically, they were not allowed to fly there, but Merrik had found swooping around all the jutting peaks and avoiding the falling rocks was a perfect way to practice flying. Seijun let out a tiny cry. ~Nice! You have to be nice! Why ruin everything for poor poor Seijun?!~ The dragon tucked her head under a wing in embarrassment and sighed softly. |
There was already a small group of people surround all three and their dragons. They was whispering to each other about what was going on. "Did he just call Alistair 'Arrogant?!'"? one black hair boy whisper to another. "Talk about a lot of nerve...does he even know that Alistair's dragon can be a lot faster?" another girl replies. As there was always talk about Merrik never matching Alistair's level.
"What a loser? Your not going to take that are you Alistair?" A long white hair walks up to Alistair with two others behind him. They was Alistair's friends, the long hair one was Shun, a multi color hair named Eric, and a girl named Karin. Shun looks over at Merrik "Don't you have something to be? We heard you getting into trouble for the treatment of your dragon." says glaring at him as he crosses his arms. Alistair looks over at Shun, "That's enough, Shun. He will get what it is coming towards him." Knowing Merrik had just challenge him and Alistair never back down to a challenge before and he wasn't about to back down now. "Let's see whos dragon is the best. I will take you down, loser." chuckles lightly. He looks up at Malik who was sharing down at Seijun's dragon. ~Do I seriously have to race her? She is so nice to race.~ Melik says to Alistair. He tilts his head at Seijun seeing that she was embaressed by her rider. "Don't worry Melik. He not going to beat us." Alistair says, staring at Merrik. "Just name the time and day. And I'll be there, loser." As this guy was seriously getting on his nerves let's just hope Merrik wouldn't chicken out after setting up this challenge. He knew the mountain since he has trained up there with his master but it was different. There wasn't going to be no teachers or anything to see so it would be dangerous speciality this time of the year. |
