Jasmine relaxed, as well. The place really was comfortable, for all the bustle that was going on. It felt homey.

When the waiter came over, Sabriel ordered, glancing at Jared with a raised eyebrow. Sometimes he liked to eat, sometimes not.

Jensen just waited for Jasmine to order, figuring he'd steal some of hers.

Jared just shook his head. Not this time.

Jasmine knew Jensen planned to steal some of hers, so she made sure to order so there would be enough for that.

Sabriel settled back, just relaxing and seeing who else was around. She was always curious, especially to see what angels and demons were out and about.

Jasmine stretched a bit and settled back in her chair. She glanced around a bit, just to see what the balance of angels to demons looked like, but otherwise she didn't people-watch too much.

Jensen did, watching the people and the guardians around them. So far, though, no sign of Jasmine's soul mate. He was simultaneously relieved and aggravated. It was his job to find her soul mate, but the guy was nowhere to be found. Damn.

Jared was doing the same, scanning the crowd. Still nothing. None of the men or women in the building were Sabriel's soul mate. He was starting to get irritated on the matter; it was his job to find this person, and he was failing. Sabriel deserved better than that.

Jensen watched as their food came over, picking off Jasmine's plate even as he kept looking around.

Sabriel put her plate between her and Jared so he could get some food if he wanted, taking her time eating.

Jared occasionally took morsels from Sabriel's plate, but not too much; it was her dinner, after all.

Jasmine moved a little of everything on her plate off to one side so that she could eat in peace without having to stab Jensen's fingers with her fork. It had happened before.

At first Sabriel didn't notice the two guys looking over at them speculatively, instead chatting with Jasmine.

But Jensen did notice, and his eyes narrowed ever so slightly. Neither of them was Jasmine's soul mate, but he still shouldn't say no to her potentially getting a date.

Jared noticed as well. Neither of them matched Sabriel, either, but they could potentially be avenues towards finding the right one for her.

Jensen didn't say anything, though he kept an eye on the two guys. So he wasn't surprised when the guys came over after the girls had finished eating.

"Hi," one of them said with a smile. "Mind if we sit and chat for a few minutes?"

Jasmine raised an eyebrow slightly, but nodded and moved over a little.

"Sure," she said.

He and his friend pulled over a few chairs and sat.

"Sorry to intrude," he said, smiling at Jasmine. "But we're kind of regulars here and we haven't seen you before. We got curious."

Sabriel laughed a bit. Okay, yeah, she knew what that was like, she went to the diner frequently enough to know everyone there.

"Figured we'd come over and say hi," the second guy added as he sat down.

"No worries," Jasmine said. "We decided we wanted something new, so we came here."

"Well I hope you enjoyed your food," the first guy said. "I'm Kurt, by the way." He held out a hand to Jasmine.

"Nothing wrong with being social," Sabriel agreed.

"Jasmine," she replied, shaking his hand.

"Not at all," the guy replied. He grinned a bit. "Name's Jesse."

"Nice to meet you, Jasmine." Kurt grinned. "You live in the area?"

"Sabriel. Nice to meet you." Sabriel shook Jesse's hand with a little grin of her own.

"On the other end of town," Jasmine replied, nodding. "Near the old diner."

"Nice to meet you too, Sabriel," Jesse said. "Fun name, by the way."

"That place any good? I've never eaten there." Kurt raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, my parents are kind of weird." Sabriel shrugged. "But hey, at least I never had to deal with having more than one Sabriel in a class."

"It's a nice place," Jasmine replied, nodding. "Cozy. Comfortable. Good food."

"My parents thought I was going to be a girl," Jesse said, grinning. "Had a name all ready to go. 'Jessica Lynn.' Then when I was born, they didn't want to bother finding a new name so I ended up being Jesse Lee."

Sabriel laughed. "Jesse Lee. It could have been worse."

"Fried cod," Jasmine said, grinning a bit. "It's about as perfect as fish gets."

"Oh I've seen worse," Jesse said, grinning. "I knew a kid in high school. Last name Finnegan, first name Fin."

"Oh that poor person." Sabriel was grinning though.

Jasmine nodded.

"And they put the fried cod on a big kaiser roll, and it's just the best damn sandwich."

"Fishy was good about it," Jesse said, grinning. "But yeah, we all just agreed his parents must have been stoned or something."
