He was surprised to find himself almost taken in by the sweet, innocent words. Byron smiled as he started the car, and tilted his head slightly to send a glance the other man's way. "There's no need to worry so much, Jade. We'll see each other again if you want to." City lights, bright in the night, they lit the way to the dinner theater.

"I'm surprised you haven't got more friends, or had more company. You do have the personality for it." Indeed, the young man even had the little café to attract people to him. It was puzzling, and intriguing... Perhaps it would be alright to find out more like this, before turning to other more violent means.

That made Jade very happy, to know that they would see each other again if he wanted to. And he very much wanted to, so far at least. That bright smile had gotten even brighter when Byron spoke those words, but then it faltered slightly, and Jade looked down at his lap. Toying with the sleeve of his shirt. "Everyone's always intimidated by who my father is. He's a frightening person, so I can't blame them.." Jade hesitated for a moment, though that smile returned and he looked up from his lap. "So I moved out here, far away from him and his influence. I thought maybe a cafe would attract people and I could make a lot of friends, but so far no one's really seemed to notice it. That's alright, I probably just need to advertise better."

Those eyes blinked and he turned his head to look out the window. None of this was familiar to him, but instead of that making him nervous, it only made him more excited. "Oh. I hadn't been to this part of town yet." He said the words, as if they had just started some great, amazing adventure. For Jade, they probably already had. He looked back at Byron, that smile on his lips. "I'm already having a lot of fun with you."

His father was a frightening man? Byron chuckled before he could stop himself, thinking of how absurd it was that Jade had been trying to escape one frightening person, and had run into the arms of another. "You should consider getting some ads put in the newspaper, or getting a commercial run on the radio." Exposure was key, and he couldn't believe he was actually trying to help Jade. Maybe Byron had been taken in more then he thought.

As they pulled into the parking lot, he turned a dazzling smile Jade's way. "Well then, if this is fun I suppose our dinner should be ... mindblowing?" Byron wasn't sure if he used the word right. Somehow such a saying didn't seem to fit the last sentence, not quite. It didn't matter. Shrugging, Byron slipped from his car and moved to open the passenger side door for Jade with a slight bend of his waist.
