Alex let Zane settle back in his room before he went to knock to check if he was alright.
Zane's face looked sweaty and pale, Alex sighed as Zane let him in, "You really need to stop drinking buddy, because... well look at you, you're a mess. What's that?" His thoughts were interupted as he saw the parts from the microwave in a new shape attached to several batteries taped together.
"Oh it's an amplified electrode wave creator thing." Zane said with a shakey grin. I just need someone to test it on.
"what does it do?" Alex asked suspiciously.
"Well, if i got the voltage right it should inhibit movements in a selected region, however an input to the spine should be enough to radiate the body and completely immobilise." Zane said excitedly.
"Zane, you know we don't know if I react well to electricity or not." Alex frowned.
"look, you want me to test it on myself?" Zane said seriously. He began to charge the two needles. "Come here." He said with a smile.
Alex looked nervous but he touched the end with his finger where the little lightnigh bolts were firing across the pins.
He let out a large yelp of pain and his finger felt frozen he couldn't move it. "Zane..."
Zane grinned, "Look you're fine now. Take off your shirt I need to listen to your heart and breathing."
Alex followed Zane's command as always, he didn't know why he listened to Zane or even trusted him, but Zane practically saved his life once and he felt he owed him something.
"could you just reach that book for me a second?" He asked and pointed at a book on the shelf.
"Okay sure Zane!" Alex said, Alex shouldn't have trusted Zane.
Zane's background was one of mistrust he'd never had a best friend he'd cheated on his three girlfriends when he was growing up. Even the force who created him were warey of where his honestly and trust lay. In one swift movement zane protected himself in a force field bubble and his the switch on the new device, sparks flew around the room, and from wires taped to the ceiling lightning was created, it showered around Alex and the noise was enough to wake the entire appartment.
Alex let out a deafening scream himself as the lighning rain attacked every inch of his body and struck him right though to his heart. He collapsed to the floor in agonising pain as his heart began to spasm furiously, his eyes glittered from the sparks and he froze. Sensing danger Zane flicked the switch back off and released his secure bubble.
..."Alex?" he whispered worriedly. Alex twiched on the floor and then his whole body went limp. "Oh... shoot." Zane scratched his head, he was too nervous to check for a pulse.
