"Ah yes, I remember!" Cain exclaimed. Why did he feel all sorts of thrilled and sinking just at the mention of that marriage? And Kirin's cheesy words had him feeling dizzy now rather than irritated. This was so strange. Nervously, he voiced his question. "What about it?

"Her, and her father, and entourage is going to be arriving here today." He said. "Her father is furious I turned down the proposal." He said with a small chuckle.

Cain frowned despite himself. "Isn't it bad to have bad relations with people like that?" he asked. Though he was happy, he didn't want trouble for Kirin.

"No we don't... which is why I might have to agree to the marriage. I always knew I was going to have to marry. I just didn't think it would come soon." He said with a sigh. "Though you will always be first in my heart. And any woman I am with will have to understand that." He said leaning down and kissing Cain's cheek.

Cain stared down at the ground. "For a people that live so long, it doesn't seem right to have such an institution as marriage. People change too much over time. Only if you love someone very much should you want to marry." This system didn't make sense to him. It wasn't built like it would work for dragons as it did for humans.

"I agree, but I didn't make the rules." He said with a small smile. "Though my parents give me hope. Their marriage was arranged and, according to my mom they didn't get along at all when they were first together. But when I was growing up they were as close as any to people could be. And they stayed that way until my father died."

"Then...maybe marrying this woman wouldn't be so bad...?" Cain asked with a little sigh. It would be good for Kirin if he could have a long lasting relationship with someone like that. Perhaps it was possible for two people to stay together their entire lives after all.

"I'd rather be with you." He said as he opened the door to the small pub. "I just... I hate it." He mumbled

"R-really, me?" Cain stammered. Did Kirin mean what it sounded like he meant there? He slipped inside the pub after Kirin, enjoying the atmosphere of the place. "Surely you don't mean...?"

"What do you think I mean?" He asked as he headed towards the back of the pub. Kirin pulled out a chair for Cain.

Cain shook his head. He didn't want to answer the question so he just sat down in silence. "Never mind. I'm just saying nonsense for some reason," he said. It was cozy in the back of the pub and a pleasant smell permeated the air. "This is a nice place."

"Your majesty." The waitress said. "What can I get you two to drink?" She asked with a grin.

"Mead for me please." Kirin said with a grin.

Cain blinked then said, "I'll have some mead as well!" Though he did drink from time to time, it wasn't often. Alcohol hampered a person's survival instincts, but it was also common for travels to relax at drink at inns when they did reach a town. Cain wanted to drink if kirin was.

"Two meads." SHe said smiling. She had left menus for the two of them.

"Order whatever you would like to eat." He said with a smile. His mind was working on things. He really didn't want to marry this girl. But he wasn't sure if there was away out of it.

Cain looked at the menu for a second, then picked the first thing that looked interesting. He turned his attention back to Kirin after only a few seconds. "You're thinking hard. I can see it on your face," he said.

"Sorry." He said. He had not meant to go so silent. "What have you decided on to eat." He asked sipping his mead.

"The soup," Cain responded. "But I want to know what you've been thinking so intensely about. Are you still bothering over the marriage thing?"

"It upsets me that I am being forced into this. But I do know that if I don't it cause a war." He said. He decides to get the soup as well. He had never eaten soup for breakfast before but it sounded interested.

"You can't talk it out in some way? Maybe if you had someone else you planned to marry, it would be easier to say now," Cain said thoughtfully. Though he wasn't educated in politics and the whole thing was just nonsense to him. He did want to help.

"I'd marry you if it was possible." He said honestly. "Though her and I will be betrothed for awhile till my mother and her parents can arrange the wedding."

"Me?! What would be the point in marrying me?" Cain exclaiming, turning slightly pink so that he had to hide his face behind his hand. "I don't understand why you like me so much."

"I just do." He said. He couldn't explain it. But he did, so very much. THe waitress comes back. "You ready to order?" She asks with a smile.

Cain managed to order his food without stuttering, then turned his attention back to Kirin. He wanted to stare, though he knew it was rude. He just couldn't figure out how to react to Kirin. Should be be bothered...or flattered? He never knew quite what to do where the other man was concerned. "I think I'm sick of talking seriously. Let's talk about something else now," he grumbled.

Kirin ordered as well. "What would you like to talk about?" He asked watching Cain sipping his mead.

Cain took a large gulp of his drink in order to give him time to think. Probably a bigger gulp that he needed to be swallowing at once. "I don't know. Seems like the kind of moment where you randomly start talking about the weather...but that would be boring. Ah really...I'm no good at coming up with conversation," he said with a sigh.
