Yokou slowed his horse as well, enjoying the leisurely pace as they rode. It wasn't often he got to ride this path on a horse rather than using the carriage. "So, your parents. Is there anything I should know? I don't want to make a bad impression."

" Kind of late for that." Athena sighed " They hate being slaves and though there pleasant in front of there owners they curse them when no one is looking."

Yokou frowned. "I guess that's a huge strike against me, then. I'll just have to try extra hard to prove that I'm different." He said.

" Oh yeah especially since your dating me...they think you bought me for it or that you bribed me into it." Athena sighed.

Yokou turned pale. "Oh, God...I can't even imagine...they're going to hate me." He said, realizing just how slim his chances were.

" probably." Athena nodded not even trying to soften the blow.

"Ouch, no love there." He joked weakly.

" Sorry." Athena grimaced softly " I didn't mean it." she sighed

Yokou shrugged. "It's okay. I'd rather you be honest about it." He said.

" Good." Athena chuckled " I like being able to be honest."

"Well, that's something we have in common, then. However..." He frowned slightly. "You can't tell them about my...condition. It's a secret, and I don't need any more reasons for them to hate me." He said.

" They would kill you without hesitation." Athena grinned slightly.

Yokou nodded, sot grinning. He was dead serious. "Most people would. That's why I have kept myself hidden for so long." He said, staring forward.

" Well I guess I'm just lucky you didn't lie to me." Athena smiled at him " I won't tell anyone."

Yokou smiled back. "I could never lie to you." He said. "I know you won't. Thanks."

Anna sighed all to soon the manor her parents worked it loomed into view "well there it is." she smiled nervously.

Yokou quirked an eyebrow. The place was almost as big as his, and clearly well taken care of. In his experience, that meant that the help was not treated well, which meant that Athena's parents would hate him even more. "Well, we might as well get this over with." He sighed. He had never been so nervous before in his life.

Athena jumped from the car and headed for the servants walking around she hugged a couple who hugged her back smiling.

Yokou dismounted his horse as well, and followed her. He stood quietly while they had their reunion.

"Mama, papa this is my beu." Athena smiled at him "Yokou my parent Abigail and Henry."

Yokou bowed politely. "It is an honor and a pleasure to finally meet you both." He said, smiling timidly.

"Well however did you get your master to agree to this?" Henry frowned softly. "About that Yokou was my master and know we're dating." Athena braced herself as they blinked.

Yokou gulped. He had hoped for a little more time to win them over before they found out, but there was nothing for it now. He simply looked sheepish. "To be honest, I didn't buy her as a slave...I just wanted some company. She's free now."

"Your dating a master?" Abigail scowled. "Yes I love him." Athena with sighed. "How much is he giving you?" Her mom growled. "He's not paying me anything." Athena rolled her eyes. "So he tricked you into it,or your giving it for free." Her dad also glared at him as Athena's mouth popped open and she turned a pink color.

Yokou gaped, unable to comprehend what was going on just yet. They had jumped to conclusions so fast, as if they were looking for a reason to hate him. Well, that escalated quickly... He thought. "N-no, I didn't trick her, and she certainly isn't "giving it away" as you say. We haven't even done that..." He blushed slightly, unable to name the act that they hadn't done.
