Eventually, dawn broke and the sun rose high enough to stream through her window. The night was over, and Yokou had been silent for hours.

Athena pulled the door open "Yokou?"
|
Yokou lay there, completely still except for his breathing. When he heard Athena's voice, he stirred and looked up. His face was tear stained and guilt ridden, and he was very pale. All in all, he looked horrible. "A-Athena...?" His voice was dry and cracked- from crying or from all the yelling, it wasn't clear. "I'm so sorry. Please don't leave..."

"Thank goodness." Athena sighed in relief "I thought you might have gone after Lori which would have gotten you killed demon form or no demon form." she knelt down "You look awful." she pushed hair from his face.

He managed a tiny smile. "I wouldn't have gone after Lori, even in demon form. She scares me too much." He said, only half joking. The truth was, in demon form he would only ever have gone after Athena. Once he was focused on something, he didn't give up on it. But he was scared of Lori. "I'm fine, even if I look awful. But the important thing is that you're okay. You are, right?"

"A little shaken but fine." Athena smiled at him. "I'm not leaving my room tonight that's for sure."

Yokou nodded. "I understand. Luckily, the madness only comes over me during the full moon, and only the one night. But it's better to be safe. That's why I put those sage leaves in there for you, and carved the symbol on the door." He had done the same for Lori when she came to live there. "If ever you need it, there is a large supply of sage and many other protective plants in the garden."

"You sure your alright?" Athena asked "Can I see you demon form some time?"

Yokou nodded. "I'm sure." He said, managing to sit up. Her next question surprised him so much, though, that he fell back down. "Y-you...want t-to see my demon form...?" He asked, unable to imagine why she would want that.

"Sure I'm just curious you don't have to." Athena blushed softly. "I just want to know that's all."

Sitting back up and resting against the wall, Yokou shook his head. "No, it's okay. I have total control during the day and any time besides the full moon, so I don't mind. I was just surprised, that's all." He said, smiling up at her. "I'll show you later today, once I've got my strength back."

"OK...can I kiss you?" Athena blushed. "Shouldn't have to ask stupid." She leaned down and kissed him.

Yokou kissed her back, though he was a bit weak. Once they broke apart, he smiled. "Of course you don't have to ask. You can always kiss me." He said.

"I know I'm not use to not asking for things." Athena sighed.
|
"It's okay. I'm sure you'll get used to freedom soon. In the meantime, I'll be happy to help you adjust."

Athena blushed at the way it sounded. "I think next full moon I should go." She blushed more. "It falls at a certain time." She had been keeping track and was certain it would happen.

Yokou nodded. "I was going to suggest the same thing. Next month, on the day of the full moon, we'll have Lori take you away for the day and night. She won't tell me where you are, so that way I won't be able to find you. It should work, as long as I don't see you while I'm in crazy mode."

"Alright." Athena nodded then sat down next to him sighing softly "I'm tired."

"Me too." Yokou said. "What are we going to tell Lori about last night?" He asked, wondering if the woman would somehow know what had happened.

"Better just tell her and then run like your lifes on the line because it will be." Athena chuckled and leaned against him. "Course that can wait."

Yokou nodded, yawning. "Okay, I'll do that. For now, how about a nap?"

"Napping sounds good." Athena reached down and held his hand gentle using his shoulder as a pillow. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight." Yokou replied, leaning his head on hers before falling asleep quickly.

Athena smiled softly and fell asleep as well to be woken later by Lori calling her name. "You've been asleep for hours." Lori chided then seeing she was awake moved off.

Yokou woke up slowly, noticing that Athena was awake. "Was that Lori?" He asked sleepily.
