"Very well." Yokou said, staring off into space.

Athena kissed him then sat down grinning slightly as Lori snorted putting the plates on the table.

Athena and Lori cleaned up then raced off laughing and talking a mile a minute they went into town and went to the butcher getting there meat as they traveled back slower this time a group of slaves past them they kept there heads down till the leader of the group stopped them. "Well two pretty girls all alone." the man grinned "We could make good money off you two." "We are free." Lori growled "Not for long." the man dismounted his horse and grabbed rope "Make this easy." "Run." Lori grabbed Athena's hand and together they raced off "YOKOU!" Athena yelled as loud as she could.

Ironically, Yokou was out in the woods, hunting, when he heard Athena's cry. He instantly released his wings and flew at top speed towards where her voice came from, landing directly between the girls and their pursuers. "And just who is this now?"

The man blinked then chuckled "Lucky you that your man was here." he turned and went back to his slaves. Athena hugged Yokou tightly crushing his wings.

Yokou coughed. "Choking...not breathing..."
|
"Sorry." Athena mumbled then kissed him "I was almost sold as a slave." she sniffled softly.

Yokou hugged her back tightly. "I'm so sorry. I promise, I will never let that happen to you again." He said. "I'll always protect you. Just call my name, and I'll come for you."

"OK." Athena sighed softly placing her head on his chest. "Get a room you two." Lori snorted.

Yokou glared at Lori. "You know, I'm getting really sick of your attitude. I originally offered to let you stay with us because you are Athena's friend, but if you can't at least pretend to respect me, then you can leave. I've done everything I can think of to earn your respect, to make you feel welcome, and all I get in return is one nasty remark after another. I'm done, okay? I'm done trying to be nice to you."

"Well I won't respect a demon and I certainly won't trust you with Athena with what happens during the full moon." Lori snapped glaring "Come on you two don't fight." Athena urged frowning slightly "Well you two do kiss a lot I'm just having a little fun." Lori scowled "I'll leave but I'll be here as soon as he does something." she walked off heading to the mansion to collect her things.

Yokou clenched his fists, resisting the urge to growl. "I'm only half demon. I'm not a monster. I'm not." He said quietly, as if he were trying to convince himself.

Athena squeezed his hand. "I know your not...Lori however is scared you'll do something she'll get use to the demon thing eventually if she changes her mind and stays that is."

"But I won't do anything. I didn't last night. I just..." Yokou squeezed his eyes shut, then opened them. "I'm sorry. I probably sound like a big jerk. I just wish I could be better."

"Your my jerk though." Athena teased and lead him towards home humming softly.

Yokou smiled, though his heart wasn't in it, and walked back with her.

"don't let her get to you Yokou. I love you and that's all that matters." Athena smiled softly "Want me to prove it?"

This time, Yokou's smile was genuine. "You're right, that is all that matters. And if you want to prove it, I'm more than happy to let you."

Athena smirked and pulled him inside knowing Lori was gone she pinned him to the door kissing him placing her arms around his neck pulling him close.

Yokou let out a small groan and kissed her back passionately.

Athena blushed softly French kissing him.

They were in Yokou's bed, since there was more privacy there. "That...was amazing. So, does this mean we're official now? Like, a couple for life?" He asked. He didn't really know how it worked when one didn't get married. |
