- Esmme's Characters -

Jinx

Jinx is a bit of a spitfire. If that isn't obvious from her constant smirk and search for adventure, then you need a lesson in learning a person.

She has a thing with bad luck. Hence, her nick name.

More will be known about this little creature as time goes on.

Belkam

Belkam is a local criminal and black market dealer. His work has been made rather difficult for him by Eclipse because of the way the military and law is rising up just to find him. It is really stirring up trouble, and Belkam is more than willing to set his "fellow hunted" up for failure. He hates Eclipse.

He has recently made contact with the military - likely because they caught him in the act of selling stolen goods. Belkam is a traitor to all those around him - there really is no honor among thieves! In fact, he's very much willing to make a deal with the military in order to get rid of Eclipse in return for his freedom and for the law to turn a blind eye to his current list of crimes.

Bored and with little else to do, the raven haired man slipped into the empty bar for a drink. His piercing icy blue eyes moved around the room for a moment in search of an interesting conversation partner. So far, all he saw were either drunks or bounty hunters at this point. He himself could technically fall into the range of a bounty hunter, but that was kind of ironic with a bounty on his head that would make anyone want to see him dead or in chains. He chuckled to himself lightly, his eyes falling upon someone within the establishment.

For the moment, he did not make his move right away. He knew better than this. For now, he slipped around to the actual bar of said establishment, and pulled out one of the wooden stools. Upon sitting down, he smiled a bit at the bartender, who asked the familiar question of "what can I get ya?" He thought about it for a moment, before replying, "Scotch is fine to start with." The bartender nodded, moving off to a bottle further down the bar. The man's eyes closed for a moment with a sigh, before he glanced back at the mysterious party within the bar "interested?" he smirks.

The bartender slipped the glass in front of him, his slender fingers wrapped around the glass. Picking it up, he lifted it up to his lips. He smireked, even when he was taking a sip. The taste was a bit bitter on his tongue. Strong but refreshing, it allowed him a moment's distraction from the current events. He was here for the simple reason of self pleasure....or something like that. He chuckled a bit, sitting the glass down upon the counter by him. He returned his eyes to the figure by him at the table. Standing, he moved to the table.

He placed a hand upon the surface, leaning in as the other rested on his hip loosly. He still wore his smirk, his piercing blue eyes on the figure before him. A bit of his raven hair slipped into his eyes, causing his appeal to rise. A few people glanced at him from within the bar. He was not even trying to hide himself, even knowing of his own bounty floating around. There was no fun or anything in hiding. He had nothing to be ashamed of, nor was there anything he regretted.

He finally reached up, to brush the hair from his eye, though it soon fell back in the way. He was in a good mood today, as well as playful. He had not been wanting to merely sit around and do nothing all day since the moment this day had begun. Now, here he was in this bar, speaking to a complete stranger. He knew he could be charming and irresistable, but his boldness was slightly on the edge of becoming just plain cocky.

He knew he should dial it back a bit, but he could not help it. His head and heart tended to get in the way, which caused him to act on emotion and impulse. Taking a breath, the mind of this man floated back to this morning, being one of those cases. He had been in his hotel room, when the door had gained a knock. When he had answered, a familiar face had been there to give him a hard punch.

Thankfully, it had not left a bruise or a mark. He was surprisingly durable...most said he was just hard headed. He wondered what made them think this, then again, he could easily think of a few reasons. Right now however, his attention needed to be on this source in front of him. He was not about to let his prey get away from him, that wasn't his style. He felt the slight urge to laugh...his style?

The bar had been quiet. There was a quiet bustle about it, as was normal for the small establishment. It was homey, really. Comfortable. Or, it had been for a few days now.

Lifting an empty mug, one of the patrons sighed. Sitting at a table near the counter, the hooded figure glanced in the direction of the newcomer. He'd taken a seat not far away, and was already putting in an order with the bartender. Something about that man's aura and demeanor was ... bold. Incredibly bold. Especially as he made his way over to the table.

"Interested?"

There was a moment of silence before the figure nodded, and reached up to lower the deep hood. "I am." Red eyes met his blue, and a slight smile followed. "I must warn you, I've already frightened off the last bounty hunter who tried to get friendly." Her smile soured. "But I suppose that pleasant company isn't a bad idea." She looked him up and down, her slight smile fixed as she watched him brush his hair back in a futile effort.

A hand wormed its way out from thick folds of her over-sized coat. The dark gray fabric practically swallowed the girl. "They call me Jinx," she said, offering her hand. "What's your name, tiger?"

For all it was worth, she couldn't stop staring. Those eyes. His eyes were piercing, and playful. Jinx waited for the male to accept her handshake, analyzing him the entire time. He certainly was the attractive sort....

The hands removed the hood, allowing him to get a better look at the female underneath. His eyes held hers for a moment, as he watched that little payful smirk dance across her lips. It was amusing, sort of like his own. He listened to her words, scaring off the last hunter eh? So she had a feeling he dabbled in the art? He chuckled lightly, he was not one to be easily scared off. He lightly took the hand in greeting, his grip firm but gentle enough not to harm her. He stood up straight moments later, fully running a hand through his hair. His attention shifted to the bar for a moment, as he retrieved his drink.

Soon after, he pulled out the chair across the table from the woman, ignoring the curious eyes directed in their direction. Turning the chair so the back was facing the table, he strattled it and sat his glass down. His arms folded onto the back of the chair, as his chin rested upon them. He pondered for a moment on her question. His name... After a bit, the smile returned to his lips. "I am known by a few things....Though for now, you may call me Eclipse" he smiled a bit more, his eyes taking on a slightly more serious and edgy look to them as he spoke his name. He took another sip of his drink, as the mention of this name seemed to gain them even more attention.

Eclipse was the name of a particularly strong case that many bounty hunters had attempted to go after. None had succeeded, and even fewer had survived, since they seemed determined to risk their lives for a bounty that surpassed all others. What had been done to earn such an ever growing bounty, had faded into mystery. Some say he was a murderer, some say he was a thief. There were hundreds of potential explinations, but few had ever truly cared to know. Such a desired mystery and challenge, though the rumors of Eclipse had been around for awhile, and the male here now, looked barley within his twenties.

"Eclipse," the girl shook his hand, her eyes wide. "Even I've heard that name. You're bold to speak it here, of all places."

Jinx watched him curiously as he took a seat, boldly flipping the chair around. It was the move of someone who wasn't worried. He didn't feel the weight of his own bounty, obviously. The way he breathed the air and moved about was so uncaring!

She frowned a bit. "Aren't you worried? This isn't exactly a prime establishment for you to be spending your time, if you are who you say." Jinx looked him up and down again. Her smile returned with a playful twist. "Trying to get caught, tiger?"

He chuckled lightly, watching her as her emotions seemed to shift around. Her smile fading but soon reapearing. He leaned a bit forward once more, tracing a finger lightly on the rim of his glass. The other asking if he was worried about this. He kept his own playful smile as she did all this. "I am not worried....and I am who I am" he says. "People have tried many times to finish me off, but they have yet to succeed...as to this establishment" his eyes moved around, "shall we move somewhere no pleasurable than?" He stood, easily flipping the chair around once more, before picking up his glass and draining it.

He sat it upside down on the counter by the bartender. Without waiting for the female, he turned to the door and walked out. His boots on the floor were the only sound in the establishment at the moment. He walked out into the slightly chilled night air. A black and blue motorcycle stood waiting out front. He smiled, moving to it, he ran his fingertips along the sleek surface. He glanced back, curious if the female would be bold enough to follow him. If not, it was fine, he was in town for awhile. It is a small town, slightly western in style, but it was kind of quaint. He smiles, looking back at the bike.

Jinx opened her mouth to respond, but Eclipse was already moving. She watched as he finished his drink, setting the glass on the counter in an oddly ... caring? ... way instead of leaving it on the table. The girl expected him to return. Instead, Eclipse moved right past her table without a second thought.

"Wait," she stood, flipping her over-sized hood back over her head as she did. The silence that followed them was incredibly uncomfortable. Jinx's red eyes locked on the male's back as he left the bar. She nearly jogged out to catch up with him. Anything he was doing was guaranteed to be ten times more interesting than what she was doing. Jinx had been sitting there in silence, waiting for something to happen. She usually didn't wait too long, as her luck was horribly awful to her.

"It's beautiful," Jinx said as she stepped out of the bar. Staring at the bike, she let her usual smirk return. "Fitting. Really, it suits you." She stepped closer, looking unsure and hesitant. "If I bothered you until you took me with you, where would we go?"

He smirked, not having to turn to tell who that voice belonged to. She asked him where would they go. He finally turned to her. "Wherever the wind takes us...though I am sure the approaching military will keep us entertained enough" he says. He knew many were not aware of it yet. He should not have known either, if he did not have a friend on the inside. There was a shift in the guys in charge.

They had just enacted a major reform of the land, which ment that there were dozons of soldiers on their way across the land, capturing or wiping out convicted people, or those with bounties on their heads. It also ment the military was attempting to take a much more active and powerful role within the world. He had no doubt the head of the military was planning a major takeover soon. The president of the nation would have no idea what happened, if this happened.

An inside take over would leave things in a tailspin. The nation did not need a dictator. Much of it was in poverty already, fueled by those who had power, and those who took what they wanted or needed. He was all for reforming and working on the wellbeing of the land, but not like this. He sighed slightly, tossing the helmet to her. "Shall we get going then?" he smiles, turning to mount the bike. He began the engine, reving it a bit in the night air.

"The wind is fun to follow. There is no guaranteed direction." Jinx's eyes suddenly widened at the mention of the military. "The what?!" She looked worried. Very worried. "W-we should get out of here. I can't have another run in with those guys. I really, really can't."

She scrambled to catch the helmet that Eclipse tossed in her direction. Fumbling with it, Jinx took a few rapid steps back to catch the thing before it flew from her grasp. Ah, luck. Glad to know it was always on her side.... not.

"Yeah," Jinx stuffed the helmet on her head, blowing a dark fringe of hair from her eyes. Eyeing the bike, she took a deep breath. "I've never ridden before." Without hesitation, she stepped up and used Eclipse's shoulder as a grip while she situated herself on the motorcycle. At first, she leaned back as though unsure whether or not to lean against the male. It was suddenly made clear to her that she could be making the stupidest choice of her life.

Well, she HAD been hoping something interesting would happen to her....

Jinx squeezed her eyes shut and wrapped her arms around her new friend. "Never done this before, either." The girl's crimson eyes opened as the bike revved again. She was far too excited to keep her eyes closed.

He smiled, chuckling lightly as she caught the helmate and then moved to the bike. He did not mind her hand on him, or even when she wrapped them around his waist. He was warm against her, his muscles able to be felt more clearly within such close proximity. He listened to the other's words before this about the military. He did not desire to place her in danger, he was anything but friendly with the military, or much of those who ran on a darker circle than him. He gave her a bit of a smile.

"Relax, as long as you are with me, I will not allow anyone to hurt you" he promised her. He was a man of his word, he would not allow her to be harmed. It was also more in his nature, a part many failed to notice or remember when discribing him. He was more chiverlous and sacrificial than they knew. He reved the bike once more, before it sped off from the front of the bar. He smiled, feeling the wind now moving past them at an incredible speed.

It chilled him a bit, whipping around him like this. He wondered if the female was alright, the first ride was known to make one feel like their insides were tumbling around or in their throat with the speed, as well as adrinalene passing through their bodies. He kept his eyes on the way before him, moving around obsticles in their ways. He was skilled with it, telling that he had ridden before. It was a bit obvious, since he owned the motorcycle.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Sir, everything is in order" the words of the officer falling into step with him were enough to make a slight smile appear on the Capitan's lips. He was Akimo Yukiteru, head of the military and second in the nation to only the president. It was controversial a lot however, which of the two of them had more power and influence within the world. The answer was pretty obvious however, to those who payed attention. Akimo was no stranger to power, using what he had, and getting, or taking, what he wanted.

He walked down the hall of the large buildding within the capital that stood as national command, the brain of the nation, and central location for the military. He did not bother to look at or respond to the officer by him, taking the file that was handed to him in stride. The officer bowed, before moving off on his way. Akimo was in the process of installing a plan to whipe out all who opposed the military. It was also nice to say they were doing it for the president, that pigheaded fool. He was in no way fit to run the nation, he was far to nice and clueless about what was really going on within the land.

No, he was merely the face of the nation, one that Akimo was more than adapted to manipulating and twisting to his own gain. Elections coming up however would prove to be more in his favor. The other did not know, but Akimo was his biggest competition. He ran the military with a strong hand, commanding respect and obedience from its members. He did not tollerate faliure or disobedience. Many within the nation liked how efficiantly and strictly he ran things. The president would be in for a surprise indeed. Stopping before a door, it was open for him by two officers.

He stepped into a large room, a group of men sitting around it. At the head, was the president. Akimo stood at attention for a moment, saluting. It made him internally sick to have to do this for such a pathetic man. He did not deserve to be treated with respect and honor, no one was worthy enough to have that power over Akimo. He refused to bow to any man, and having to do this to play along with the heads of nations annoyed him. It was one of the reasons he would enjoy being president himself. He would never have to submit and bow to anyone again. The president acknowledged him with a nod, the other men in the room turning their eyes on him.

"What news do you have Yukiteru?" the president asked. "Sir, things are going smoothly, we have already located, and brought down, many who oppose you as criminals" he said, his voice calm, collected and smooth. Many refered to him as silver tongued, he could be effortlessly charming and talk himself around any situattion, even if his true feelings were dark. The president smiled, turning tot he others around the table, "see men, I told you we could handle it. Yukiteru is more than capable of taking care of the situation, and he is doing just that." The other men nod, Akimo only keeping the slight smile on his face. Oh how he would enjoy making all of these pathetic men squirm and bow at his feet. They were incompitent fools. He was dismissed, and with another salute, he left.

As they darted through the city, Jinx crammed her head against Eclipse. Yeah. That stomach flipping thing? That was true. And so was the heart in the throat thing. And the adrenaline rush. Elated, the girl managed to open her eyes and look up just enough to see the world flying by. She was grinning underneath the helmet, her heart rushing as quickly as the wind about them.

Jinx held tight, surprised by the sturdiness of the male she clung to. She didn't mind. She really didn't mind the fact that she had to hold on so tightly. At one point she was tempted to see if his chest was just as muscled... Snapping her mind back to the present, Jinx turned a bright red. She was glad for her head covering. Still, she could feel the strength of Eclipse just in the way he maneuvered the bike. He obviously knew what he was doing, and he was much more fit than she'd originally given him credit for. Then again, look at those arms....

Her grin returned, and Jinx tightened her hold about Eclipse as they took a rather daring turn. His words. Eclipse was ... protecting her. This man, a man who had one of the highest bounties in the state, said he would keep her safe. Was that even ... right? Could she trust this guy? She'd just met him. And he had to have the military after him for some reason.

Without putting much more thought into it, Jinx turned her attention to the ride. This was exhilarating.

There were plenty of places that they could go. He looked ahead of them with a smile upon his face. This was a rush, and he admitadly liked a good rush. It was one of the reasons he was so daring and unafraid of risks. He was not a junkie for adrinaline or anything, but he loved...living. He only had this one life, so he planned on living it to the fullest. He glanced back at the girl. "You ok?" he asked, feeling her arms tighten around his waist. He hoped he was not scaring her. "Hang on, I want to show you something..." he turned the bike, cutting off out of the small little town.

There was a large city in the distance that went by the name of Solacion. He knew it well and had been there many times. It was not far, they would make it in time. The dessert landscape gave way surprisingly quickly to lush grass and trees with the speed of the bike. On foot or so, it would have easily been half a day to a days travel from the town. He weaved through the trees, keeping an eye on the land before them. It was when they broke out of the treeline, and the city could be seen towering to their left in the distance he paused the bike. He turned off the engine and smiled.

Before them was a wooden bridged, that spanned over a large lake, a slight reflection of the city seen within. He took her hand, helping her off and pulling her towards the bridge. "This is one of my favorite spots, because each night...." he nods off towards the city. Slowly, a little ball of orange floated up from it. Then another. And another. Soon they were filling the sky, and as they floated closer, it was apparent they were glowing chinese style lanterns. It lit up the bridge and the water with a warm glow. Little chimes hung from the bottom gave a slight tinkling sound as they made their way towards the bridge.

To the right opposite of the city, the lake gave way to a small stream that led off towards the ocean in the distance. The city of Solacion was located on a higher slope than much of the other land, which was partially why the land on the other side where they had just come from was so barren and dessert like. It was located in a bowl like part of the land. He moved to the railing facing the city, leaning against it. "Isn't it beautiful? Worth coming out here with me huh" he chuckled, "It's a start...only the begining if you stick around."

"I'm good," Jinx called to him over his shoulder. She grinned, wishing he could see her expression instead of just hear her wind-swept words. The lithe female ducked against Eclipse again as he told her to hold on. They moved through the city effortlessly, as though it was second nature. She wanted to learn this. Someday, she'd learn to ride like this.

Jinx was a bit startled to find them leaving the city limits. Was this safe? She was with a stranger out in the middle of nowhere now. Just her luck - to be stuck with a guy she thought was attractive, but actually end up dead or something. A bit of disappointment flickered through her, but Jinx merely watched as they navigated through trees and various obstacles.

They came to a stop just as they broke from the trees. Jinx eyed the bridge, her gaze locked on the water beyond. The reflection of the city was like a mirror - a perfect, beautiful mirror that shimmered and moved with life. The scenery must have pacified her worries, for she stumbled off the bike and gladly let Eclipse help her toward the bridge. If he hadn't had her hand, she most certainly would have biffed it right then and there.

Her embarrassment didn't last long, it seemed. Pulling the helmet from her head, Jinx let her mouth hang open in surprise. She stared at the lanterns, fumbling with the helmet and nearly dropping it. Barely able to catch it before it hit the bridge, Jinx finally just turned back and rested it on the handlebar of the bike.

When she looked back, the area was lit with a warm, comforting glow. This couldn't be dangerous. No, no. This wasn't frightening at all!

"I've never seen this," the girl said, fixing an annoying lock of her hair that kept getting in her eyes. Jinx stepped up beside Eclipse, watching the lanterns with a transfixed look of excitement. "This is ... amazing." Sending a slight smile to Eclipse, she leaned her elbows against the railing. "I don't think it gets much better than this, Eclipse. You're making a pretty big claim."

She flicked a loose piece of wood off of the railing and against Eclipse's arm, and then looked out at the lanterns' reflections. They were like stars, or small suns. Jinx continued leaning against the railing for a few moments before shrugging and pulling herself up to sit on the railing with her feet over the water. Looking down, she grinned. "I don't even know what you did. I mean, everyone knows there's a bounty on your head. You're notorious."

Jinx looked to Eclipse, who was only a foot away. "What did you do, exactly?"

The light reflected in his eyes, casting a warm glow across his skin as they floated overhead. He chuckled lightly at the female's words about his claims. "Life and the world is an open pit of adventure, possibility and beauty...if you know where to look for it" he winked. His eyes returned to the lanterns, but his smile slightly faultered when she began talking about the bounty on his head. He gave a slight shrug, turning so his back was to her.

"I am sure you have heard one of the many stories going around about me" he says, "I'm a cold blooded killer....I took down tons of men on my own, while pillaging villages and leaving nothing in my wake." A slight laugh left his lips, but the eyes she couldn't see at the moment held a darker sadness. That subject, though many stories about, was a very personal matter. His past was anything but ordinary or kind, and to someone he just met.....impossible to speak of.

He had never opened up to anyone really about that portion of his life. Only those who were involved in certain areas or aspects knew anything...and even then, they normally only knew the area to which they came into play. His past was a dark thing, a door that once open, could not be easily closed. Stories about why he never stayed in one place long also circled.

Was it the bounty and hunters? Was it because he was running? Was it because he was searching....if so....searching for what? He was a mystery, a puzzle that so many had tried to piece together and unlock. All of them to that day had failed. He did not desire to drag her into it or down with him. Perhaps taking her with him on a whim was a bad idea after all.

When Eclipse turned his back to her, the girl let her shoulders droop slightly. Perhaps she shouldn't have brought up his past. There was a sadness in his gaze, and a strange twist to his voice when he spoke of all the rumors that Jinx had heard. Yes, she'd heard those things. And she wasn't sure what to think of them. She'd honestly never given them too much thought or attention. Her life wasn't thrown in with criminals, and she wasn't really taking a side between government or criminal. Now, though ... which side was she on? Now, it mattered.

Jinx reached out to nudge Eclipse's shoulder, trying to ignore how the solid state of his muscle rebuffed her action without him even trying. "I was just curious. You're an interesting sort of person, you know." Her maroon eyes flickered over him, and she frowned. "I don't want to upset you. I'm bad with that. I always make people mad."

Glancing back out at the water, Jinx sighed quietly. "I was just sitting there, waiting for something interesting to happen to me." Her smile slowly returned as she looked back at her new friend. "Never thought it would be you, Eclipse. Maybe karma is being kind this time."

-

"I promise you, it won't happen again." The voice was strained with desperation. Belkam was on his knees, his hands cuffed in front of him. He'd just gotten up after being knocked to the ground by one of the soldiers. "Never. Again."

The male's pale green eyes flickered to the nearest soldier, who was holding a rod that had effectively left a darkening bruise across Belkam's cheekbone and jaw. They'd caught him dealing with illegal weapons and tools. The soldiers usually wouldn't have caught him - Belkam was far too careful for that. Unfortunately, today had been a bad day. Military men were absolutely everywhere. Apparently Eclipse had been sighted nearby. As usual, Eclipse brought every military supporter into play. It meant that there were twenty times the usual number of snitches out on the streets. Loyalty wasn't exactly easy to come by as a thief and criminal.

Belkam flinched back as the guard swung the weapon in his direction. It didn't connect, which made the criminal hiss under his breath in irritation. He'd been reduced to a cowering fool all because some idiot had flapped their lips about the weapon deal. Now, the military had their hands on some rather nice guns and ammo ... and Belkam owed some very dangerous people back for blowing the whole thing.

Ignoring the laughter of one of the nearest men, Belkam spoke again. His mouth hurt. "I swear this won't happen again. Please, just let me go. I have a family." That last bit was a lie, of course. But usually people were more forgiving if you had a better reason to turn to petty crimes than selfish desire. In Belkam's case, it was just that - an easy way of life, and one that was far more thrilling than a desk job somewhere with nothing but endless hours. "I'll find another way to support them, I promise."

He just wanted to be free so badly. He'd do nearly anything...

"I'll do whatever you tell me. Just let me go."

Eclipse was a bit distracted by his thoughts, he registered the female's voice after a few moments though. When she nudged his arm, he lightly glanced to the side but did not turn. She was apologizing? He sighed a bit himself, he hadn't ment to make things awkward, or upset her. Then she spoke about Karma.... Karma eh? His karma had been anything but kind for the last few years of his life. This was actually the first time in awhile that he had been able to just be somewhere. He was used to military on his ass, as well as some other unfortunate guests he had the displeasure of knowing.

One of the main ones was a criminal like him..though the line there was in no way black and white. He ran a hand through his hair, the memories still seeing to come back to him even now. He knew that guy hated his guys, he would do anything to get Eclipse out of the way. Sadly for him, Eclipse always seemed to be one step ahead, out of reach. He chuckled a bit to himself, feeling a bit better now. He had to get the subject off of his past though. He turned his body to face her, to look at her. "It is alright, I am not mad" he said honestly. "And karma has litttle to do with it" he moved over to her, lifting her face lightly to his. "You want to have a good life? A good adventure and future? Make your own destiny...don't let it be chosen for you" his eyes intense on hers for a moment, hiding a fire within them.

"Except for now" he smirked, leaning down to pick up the female in his arms easily. He carrie her back to the motorcycle, sitting her on it. He handed her the helmet, and climbed on himself. With one last glance at the water, they were off. He moved them over the bridge, following the rhoad before them. Trees rushed by, as the lake behind them faded from view. He made a slight circle like turn, heading for the city that had been across from them. They could find better rooming there than back at that little bar. At the same time, they would be safer.

The city was known as a peaceful one, many sought refuge there. Though they did have a police and defence system set up, as long as one did not make any trouble, they were left alone. He did not plan on trouble, at least not tonight. That would be left for the future, for trouble never seemed to be far behind him at any time. He kept his eyes on the rhoad before them, as the golden glow city rose up before them from beyond the trees. He would not allow anything to happen to the miss behind him either, no, he would keep her safe. Like he had said to her, that was what he lived by himself. To hell with karma and the paths others chose for him. He would carve one himself, and give them hell if he had to.

He smiled, looking up at the city for a moment before them. It was a point of begining, here and now. With that, he reved the engine and they were off at a quicker pace. They neared the gates of the city, and a pair of guards. He gave a slight wave as they passed through, moving onto the streets of the city. Immediatly, lights and music hit them. All around, people were standing and chatting happily. Many were dancing, especially the children. He slowed the bike down. There were food carts around, so many delicious aromas filled the air as well. Seemed the lanterns were not the only thing going on here. Many would have thought a festival was going on, if they had never been here before.

The city was always so lively and happy, each day was similar to this, the people taking good care of their land and eachother. He glanced back at the girl, "not a bad choice for the night huh?" he smiled, manuvering them through the crowd. At one time he paused the bike, as a couple of kids ran up carrying necklaces made out of the city's beautiful flowers. They were a trademark here, grown in various colors from vibrant to more subtle. He accepted a white one with them, flowers with a beautiful purple color reaching out from the centers in a unique design. He tipped them, and the kids ran off giggling to get some sweets.

He turned, lightly slipping off the helmate from Jinx, before he slipped the soft and delacate flower ring onto her neck. "It suits you" he smiled, turning to continue them along. They made their way through the city, sights and sounds greeting them at every stop. His mind was calmer now, as he was able to see this and be here. This was the kind of place he wanted to be, but eventually he would have to leave it behind. For now though, he would save that for another day. "Feel like some food?" he asked, stopping outside a resturant. "My treat" he smiled getting off once more, and holding out his hand to her.

Akimo had returned to his office, telling the guards outside that he did not wish to be disturbed. Upon the door closing behind him, the military man crossed over to a very nice bar. He sat a glass down, opening a crystal container of amber liquid. He needed something to take the edge off. Those pathetic fools, they knew nothing of what they were dealing with. They had no right to order him around, or be in charge. And soon they would not be. He raised the glass to his lips, taking a sip. The bitter taste only helped for a moement. How could he allow himself to be doing this for so long? He had wanted to origionally make a difference, he had been happy to work his way up to where he was now, even at such a young age.

But then.. he had seen to much, lived through to much. The world was going to the dogs under that bastards rule. He clenched his jaw, turning on his heel, he sent the glass flying into the wall. It shattered upon impact, pieces of it raining down to the floor, as the liquid that had been inside slid down like a stain that could have metaphored his life at the moment if he cared to think about it. A knock came to the door, it slowly opened a crack "um...sir.." Akimo's icy violet eyes immediatly shifteed to the door and the officer standing there. "I said I did not want to be disturbed, what part of that states to bother me?" his voice slightly rising with each word.

The officer bowed, "f-forgive me, but I have important news." He sighed, rubbing his temples lightly, "very well...speak." The officer stood up, "it seems that Eclipse has been sighted in the desert region." That caught his attention, his eyes rising, "is that so..." If that was true, he could be rid of a thorn in his side, before he took care of another in the president. A smile formed upon his lips, as he walked over to the door and took his coat from a nearby rack, "good work, I will see to this myself." He stepped out the door and into the hall, "oh...and you're all fired" was his decree to the officer who had intruded when he had said to leave him be, and the two guards who had allowed him to do it.

He walked away, leaving him to be escorted out with the guards who had stood at the door. He had no room in his future for thos who could not follow a simple order as to leave him alone for a few minutes. Nor did he have room for spineless cowards who stuttered when they spoke to him. Weakness was something he did not accept, and would not take from his men. Those who were under him learned that quickly. With that done, a craft was immediatly ordered to prep and take him to the desert region. God forbid it had to be a little town like that. He found such places disgusting, always riddled with criminals and spawn that ran like rats benieth his feet. The president could not keep them in control, always looking them over and going easy on them.

Not this time, it was about time for a change. The ride from the air was nice, one of the few things he enjoyed. From up here, he could see all, he was out of the reach of the sespool below for a fraction of a time. He glanced at his men that he had with them. There had been an allert sent out as well, units were heading that way, and those that were there, were on full allert. He would catch something tonight, one way or another. When they landed on the outskirts, he placed a hankerchief over his nose and mouth. Disgusting sand blowing up all over him. His eyes scanned the area as another officer came to report to him. This one was stronger than the other, they stood up straight and spoke clearly, right to the point. He would not fire him for now.

There seemed to be no further sighting of Eclipse in this town for now, however, there were plenty of criminals being flushed out in the process. He walked along the streets as he was being filled in, when a confrentation caught his ear. He paused, glancing to where a man was on his knees, and officers around him. The man was degrading himself, pleading and squirming...it made him think of a worm. He gave a slightly disgusted look, as an officer whispered who it was in his ear. Ah, another criminal he had heard a bit about. Nothing compared to Eclipse to him, but his little offer made Akimo's intrest peek.

He walked over, the guards around him immediatly standing att attention. "Pathetic....groveling in the hands of the enemy.." He stood before the villan, looking down at him with an almost expressionless look. His eyes still held an icy edge. "You will do what I say either way...for if you do not...I will not hesitate to end this pathetic thing you call an existance" he said, not bothering to wait for an answer. "We seem to have a comon enemy in mind, and that might just save your ass....you know of one called Eclipse...correct?" he smiled lightly.
