Mordecai had Xhast lift him up into the air, looking around for everyone.

"There are the horses." Barthy pointed to the lone horses.

"What the hell? where are they?"he said. He then used a Scry spell to search for them.

"Mordecai?" Lori ran to him panting "Athena's been taken." she glanced into the woods. "The other kingdom." Barthy followed her gaze "You must have crossed the border."

Mordecai got on the horses, and ran after Athena's captors, using Xhast to speed things up

Athena fought against her captors they had antimagic necklaces so her powers did her no good and without them she was a weak little girl. They laughed at her and tossed her to the ground "Someone will have fun breaking you in." one chuckled "We could just do that." another loaned towards her hands on a whip.

An Arrow would pierce The Man's chest. "That one died, alone and afraid! Mess with her, and you'll do the same!"Mordecai jumped down. It was one thing to fuck with him, but they fucked with someone he cared about. Now, he was pissed.

Athena stood grinning softly as Barthy showed up as well growling. "We can't kill you but we can maim you." he grinned and attacked.

Mordecai cut Athena free. "Ain't too late, am I?"

"Your just in time." Athena hugged him tightly.

"Good"he said, killing the rest of the slaverss

Athena watched him grimacing but a little happy.

Mordecai helped her up. "Lets keep exploring. New land, means new places"

"Lets just go home." Athena sighed softly hugging him tightly.

"Deal"he said, riding with her

Athena leaned against him back thinking the whole ride falling asleep against him.

When they got home, Mordecai put her in bed, and started talking to Lori. "How's the circle of mages?"he asked

"There fine listening more to Simons ideas." Lori smiled "Why do you ask?"

"Just hoping thing's had eased down some. "he said to her. "I'm planning an Expedition soon. You want to come with, along with Simon?" he asked.

"Sure." Lori smiled "As long as Simon and Athena are there I'll go." she trusted them but she didn't trust him.

"That's fine, I was going to invite them anyway. "he said, truthfully.

"Good now go check on your lover." Lori giggled and hurried off.

Mordecai took her adice and went to check on her.

Athena was tossing and turning fighting something.
