Caleb brought the other bowl to the girl who had been the silver gryphon. She still looked more than ready to tear out his throat, and it was a weirdly attractive look on her. He absolutely refused to think about that anymore as he set the food for her and retreated again.

Corinne growled and backed up until she hit the wall. She didn't want the mage anywhere near her. She didn't give a damn about modesty; modesty was a human thing that gryphons had no use for. She just cared about keeping distance between herself and him.

Jeremy noticed and held up a hand placatingly. He kept the shield spell up between them, but he also didn't try to approach her, instead giving her some space. He set the bowl down and retreated a bit again.

Callie eyed them both, wary, still growling a bit. They didn't belong in cages, and if she had the chance, she'd escape. But she'd settle for glaring at the ones responsible for now.

Corinne watched him carefully until he was out of the cage again. She was going to try to escape, but not right then, not when the mages expected it. She could wait until they relaxed a bit, and then make a move. Once the mages were gone, she cautiously went over to the food. No sense it leaving it; none of it had been poisoned so far.

Callie also settled down to eat, waiting until she couldn't hear the mages anymore to speak.

"What are you thinking we should do?"

"I think we should wait," Corinne said quietly. "Let them think we've given up. Maybe we can take them by surprise and escape."

"That is a sound plan," Callie agreed. "It could work." She wasn't sure if it would or not, but they could try, at least. She settled down a bit. "We will wait, then."

Corinne nodded and settled back against the wall. She shivered a bit at the chill. She would change back, but she refused to give the mages any more of her feathers so easily now that her molting was over.

Callie settled down as well, taking in every detail of the place she could, looking for ways out, weaknesses, anything she could exploit. She knew it wouldn't take long to feel the chill, but like Corinne, she refused to give them more feathers than she absolutely had to now.
