" Sounds good. Which roof top do you want to go on?" he asked, knowing it was an awkward sounding question. "Also, what are the royal family like here? I would like to know if they listen to rumors they hear or, if given the chance, they listen to the actual source, who is directly involved with the situation at hand?" He started walking in a direction, not waiting more than a second to see if Jes was following him.

She looked around and pointed to a rather tall building. "How about that one?" When he asked of the royal family, she frowned a little. "I don't know too much. They don't have a good reputation." She followed him, genuinely curious as to what he meant by all that.

He nodded and walked with her over to it while asking, " What do you mean by a bad reputation? I'm sure some good comes from them? if there wasn't, why would people stay here?"

The girl couldn't help but smile a little when he started that line of thinking. "This is their home. People don't typically leave unless their lives are in danger. And..it hasn't gotten to that point yet."

"people also hate being mistreated. if the royal family is as bad as you're implying then there should be less people..." he started climbing to the roof of the building, still holding the food in one hand. he scaled the wall using one hand and a pinky to steady himself.

She frowned at him, then sighed. "I suppose you're right. I really don't know why there are so many left." She followed him and frowned as she inspected the way he climbed the wall, then followed.

"People often stay because they are afraid of what will happen to them. I know in one of the kingdoms, someone packed their belongings to leave and the royal family decided they were committing treason for not staying in their kingdom, and the family was murdered. Of course, since it was supposed treason, the proper term is executed, but everyone knows that what happened was just murder for leaving. It also made the rest of the kingdom not move away." He reached the roof and set his stuff down before reaching over the edge for Jes's hand. "here."

Eusme took his offered hand and heaved herself over the edge of the roof. "Jeez..that's harder than I though it was." She seemed to even be a little out of breath. She sat on the roof and stared out across the city. A soft, blissful sigh came from her and she smiled a little. She always loved looking out over the city, but it felt much better when she wasn't trapped in the castle. "I don't want to ever leave.." She whispered to herself.

he smiled, hearing the last comment she made to herself. "Well, if you find it okay to stay then you probably won't ever have to leave. Also, raise your arms over your head and walk across the roof and back until you catch your breath, it will help, and you'll feel better. Climbing walls takes a lot of strength, but if you're traveling and want to go unnoticed you learn how to keep your muscles thin looking. No one lets a muscular traveler wander around on his own, they say he or she might cause trouble." he reached into his bag and pulled out a blanket and a couple pillows. he spread out the blanket and put the pillows on it, not quite side by side, but also not facing each other. "by the time you're done walking, i'll have dinner spread out." he said, smiling yet again. He got to work at unpacking dishes that looked incredibly clean from his pack and setting them on the blanket before dishing up the food.
