Cedric hesitated, he wasn't sure if he should believe her or not, she seemed so... sincere. But Tanus said otherwise, yet as much as he trusted the man he could see how angry he was. The prince was angry as well but he hadn't been as close to the soldiers as Tanus had. He placed a hand on the knight's shoulder, "Breathe friend." he turned his gaze back to Ro, "She cannot bring back the fallen, but she will pay for what she has done. Past experiences are not excuses for future mistakes. You always have the choice to rise above them and become something more than what the world has made you."

Hemset blinked, the white fading from his eyes as they returned to normal. He found himself turning his determined gaze away from Ro and towards the prince as he spoke. Did Cedric truly believe his own words? If so, then perhaps there was the faintest chance that the truth would not mean the end of this new life Lakar had given him. However... it still wasn't a chance he was willing to take.

"If they did not know I was with the company as we came through the mountains this time, they will certainly expect me on the return trip" Cedric pointed out, "Come, we have much to discuss Sir Tanus"

Tanus followed the young Prince out, calming at last. He knew his anger had gotten the better of him, but the man Rohesia, or Rosie as she claimed, killed first, had not just been another of the Kings soldiers, but a brother. They had trained together since they were old enough to join, and their families had been close. Tanus knew he would have to tell them personally when he returned, a situation he was dreading, if they even made it back to Eldonia, that was.

Once Tanus was out of the prisoners hearing range he replied to the Prince. "I apologise for my attitude Sire. I lost a close friend yesterday. I promised his family i would take care of him when he joined the King's guard all those years ago. I have failed. But i will compose myself from now on. We certainly do have much to discuss. Beginning first with our getting to Egypt. May i suggest setting off at first light? Some of the men are still too weak to walk, and there are not enough horses to carry them all. A good sleep will do the men some good, it will be a long day tomorrow."

Rohesia meanwhile sat back, releasing her arms and from her ropes once she knew she was alone, besides Hemset of course, who had not left yet. Ro rubbed her sore cheek where Tanus had stricken her and looked over at the boy.

"Did i sound convincing Hemset? Almost as convincing as you, i am sure." She said, back to her usual sarcastic manner.
"So how about our deal? I already took the pleasure of untying myself for you."

Cedric nodded in agreement to the knight, "I understand... I am sorry for your loss Sir Tanus. I assure you, that all those who died for me will be honored and their families cared for. You have my word" he pledged and he meant it. Cedric was aware that the knights of Eldonia would lay down their lives for him but it was something else entirely to witness it before him. It had unnerved the prince to watch and he wanted to do anything humanly possible to make their sacrifice worth something.

Hemset turned as though to follow the other two out but instead remained behind, his back to Ro as she spoke. "As convincing as you usually are" he replied dryly, his fingers curling into fists. A part of him wanted to rip her heart out, but she could still scream loud enough for someone to hear if she wanted to. "And I have never lied to him, being convincing is never an issue when you tell the truth."

He turned halfway to look at her, "If you can manage to keep your mouth shut until tonight, you will have your chance to escape then. I'm a mage, not Malum. Freeing a captive in broad daylight surrounded by dozens of wide awake soldiers is not among my skill set."

Gazing down upon the sandy hills and marshlands by the river nile, a large eagle hovered. Her plume was golden, reflecting off the mid-afternoon sun. She wore talons sharp enough to cut through rock, and upon her breast laid an emblem connected to a golden necklace, resembling a scarab encased in gemstones and painted glass, sacred in the capital as it signified re-birth. Not all eagles wore these chains, of course; just the shape changers, and Leisha was certainly one of those.

The scarab was more than just a sacred symbol to Leisha; it had once been a reality. Her re-birth had changed her; made her wiser, stronger and much more resiliant. Leisha had lived two lives, and with those two lives came double the knowledge, and power. She was the Phoenix, an ancient bird with wings of fire, capable of burning a city to the ground with one clap of her powerful wings. But not today. Today she was just a golden eagle, searching the sands for signs of the Eldonians, carrying precious cargo for her Pharaoh, Nemiah.

Rohesia sat with her legs crossed, impatient to be back with her own master, Malum. She waited for the sun to set below the horizon so she could escape safely, with Hemsets help of course. She had been given a small amount of dry bread, and water, in the hopes of sustaining her till the Pharaoh would decide her fate. But Ro had a different destiny. She dreamt of making Malum proud, and becoming the best thief in Frodan, beside him always. Rohesia craved the adrenaline rush being a thief gave her. The excitement she got planning an ambush, even the unsuccesful ones like the previous day, was akin only to a princess on her wedding day. This was the only life she knew, and she took everything for granted. And she took ANYTHING for that feeling. Life in Frodan could be snatched away from you at any moment, by Malums own hands or by the men and women you are trying to take from, but Rohesia enjoyed it, a little too much. Seducing the men was the easy part, which bored her mostly, apart from the attention, she rather liked that. It was the buildup to the kill, and the run from guards with her treasure in tow; that was the best part. Handing over her catch to the collectors in Frodan and being given her share; that was the most rewarding. Recieving a pat on the back by Malum himself for a job well done? That was her dream.

Hemset had something to eat before essentially going back to bed for the rest of the day. As the night fell and the soldiers prepared for bed he went to the stream and sat next to it to meditate and breathe. Finally managing to get the ill feeling from his stomach, he was starting to feel like he could maybe even cast a spell now. A little more rest and the soldiers, all but a few guards, had gone to bed, including the prince thankfully.

Hemset made it way along the outside of the barn, stopping when he found the place that was closest to where Ro sat. With a deep breath he planted his feet firmly on the soil-they were closer to the river so it wasn't terribly sandy here. Firm footing, breathe. The earth shifted as one, very carefully as to not cause tremors while an underground path slowly revealed itself right by Ro.

Rohesia was asleep by the time Hemset returned. She had the dagger tightly grasped in her right hand before she realised what was happening, and soon her fear had turned to relief.
"Finally." She said, quietly so not to wake the guards that were supposed to be keeping watch, although sleep seemed to have risen on their list of duties to fulfill this night.

"Are you sure you won't return with me?" She asked, jokinly. She was almost certain he would be punished for his killing of the thieves, but she had to admit, a magician in Frodan would definitely improve their success rate. It was a real shame he had chosen his side.

Rohesia didn't wait for Hemset's reply. She had her way out, and nothing would keep her any longer than that. She took the blanket the guards had given her to rest with and wrapped it around her waist, so she would have that little bit of extra warmth once she got back to the mountains, and jumped down into the hole Hemset had created with his Magic, hoping it didn't go too far as she had no light.

As the light disappeared a little way through the small tunnel, she began to feel with her fingers, relieved it was going back to the surface at last. Ro climed back out just outside of the camp where the guards slept, and set off running as fast as she could back to the cold peaks, and to her home; to Malum.

As the sun rose along the Nile, heating up the sands and lighting up the palace walls, Leisha prepared for another flight to search for the Eldonians. They had been due to arrive the previous day, so the Pharaoh wanted to ensure all way safe, as it had not been the first time missing cargo had arrived, which no doubt displeased him grately.

Leisha, the shape changer headed outside in to the gardens beside the palace, where Princess Mae sat by the well with her slave Tata and her maidens, who brushed her hair with the most delicate of strokes. Leisha was a pale sorceress, with short blonde hair. Her eyes shone bright red, like the flames of the Phoenix. She wore simple clothing of the palace, a white robe with golden trimmings, and jewellary around her neck and wrists. Her neck, as always, held the Scarab, signifying her re-birth. And on her left wrist a bracelet, with red and white jewels spread across it, like the eyes of Horus, her sky God, who took the form of a Falcon. Leisha worshipped Horus more than any other, as he was the protector of the skies, the sun and the moon, and she did as he commanded, looking down on the Egyptians from above, protecting them from distant enemies.

"Princess" Leisha said simply and nodded, before walking out of sight, jumping up in to the air and transforming instantly back in to the golden eagle she had been the previous day, the bracelet now hanging around her left Talon and the scarab hanging on her breast. Her eyes were now red and white too, like the Falcon, and she flew, to the outskirts of Egypt, where Leisha had been told the Eldonian's may be camping.

Mae nodded back as the Shape changer flew above, and she watched in awe, before turning to her slave Tata and demanding he sang her a song. Mae was a royal Princess, the younger of the Pharaoh's children. She would never be Pharaoh, as her elder brother would after her Father, but she dreamed of becoming Queen anyway. Her royal dress was red, with golden trimmings and she wore paint on her face, illuminating her natural beauty all the more. Her hair was black and fell down her back, straight and soft, like feathers on Leisha's wings and she had perfect features; a finely chisselled nose, rosy red lips, and a small hour glass figure. She was 16 years old now, and her red flower had bloomed for 2 years now. She knew her time to find a husband was coming near, and many suitors had come to the Palace to ask her Fathers permission, only to be denied as they could not promise her what she truly wanted; to be Queen. At least the Eldonians would be there soon. Perhaps this was the Prince she would end up marrying, uniting the two Kingdoms, and giving her the world.

"I know you're going to tell him anyway, so take a message back to him for me" Hemset whispered to Ro before she left, "Tell him that if he attacks us again, I will not leave survivors." His voice was deadly serious, even if it cost the mage dearly, he would send Malum a message in the only language the King understood. Death.
He watched the thief take off before sealing the passage up tight again. She was gone, good ridden.

Egypt couldn't be more different from Eldonia in many, many ways. In Eldonia to be born with magic was a rare gift, which was why it took so long for Lakar to find an apprentice worth his while in the first place. In Egypt however, it was odd not to have some sort of magical ability, even if it was only mildly. Laborers were pitied, to have no ability to water their crops without guiding the water through the rows of vegetation. Even the children played games that involved some basic use of manipulating the wind to throw a ball around.

Because of this, the Egyptians were not a very physically strong people, their bodies were lean and darker skinned, accustom to easier living and focused more on developing their minds and their magic. After all, they had slaves to do the heavy lifting.

The Pharaoh was a man named Nemiah, with fierce eyes of a purplish blue and dark hair that had become speckled with grey over the years. Under his command, much like Eldonia were the two factions of his army, his Mage and his warrior, however that was were the similarities ended. His mage was the one who governed his true army of magicians while his warrior, a woman called Zeta, was relatively alone in her trade. However her ability with her chosen twin swords was something he highly respected.

Zeta had been one of the few unfortunate souls that had little to no magical ability whatsoever. However instead of letting such a thing brand her for life as useless, she turned her focus to the blade and became a master at it. Every day she rose with the sun to hone her skills and keep her body in perfect physical condition. Her skin was as dark as a moonless night, the color of her eyes matching accordingly though her hair held a slightly odd hue, a coppery colour that reflected in the light.

The Pharaoh was never one to underestimate an opponent, and less so to take chances with his children so he had tasked both his Mage and his warrior with assuring that all his children received equal training in both forms of defense. His hope being that they would learn an appreciation for both the sword and the spell, and with any luck, they would not look down their noses at the Eldonians quite as much.

Tanus and the men were up and ready to move by the time the sun was above the horizon. They had many miles yet to go and didn't wish to arrive any later with the cargo. Besides, they were now out of food and provisions and had already overstayed their welcome in the farmers empty barn.

On reaching the cargo that held their prisoner, he was angered to see two guards stood motionless by the empty ropes which had held her.

"Where is the prisoner?!" He requested, shouting loud enough for everybody to hear.
"Gone sir. I went to give her the water ration and i found it like this. Nobody heard a thing sir. I cannot apologise enough." One man said.
"I accept full responsibility sir." Another said.

"How can she be gone? By all that is rotten in this world...Gone?!" Tanus exclaimed.
"Who was on the far gate?" Tanus asked, referring to the path they had entered the barn by.

"That would be me and Jim sir Tanus. We slept in turns. I swear to the all mighty God i didn't see her."

"This will not do." Tanus muttered under his breath, before composing himself. "That's it then. The whore is long gone, but believe this, if any of you are unfortunate enough to be caught sleeping on duty while we are in Egypt, i will personally feed you to the crocodiles! Now lets go!" He finished, jumping on his horse. No man muttered another word and got in line, making their way to Pharaoh Nemiah's palace as fast as their legs and horses could carry them. The wounded sat in the empty wagon, and those that could not walk rode on horseback instead.

As the group made their way in to Egypt, a shadow came over them, as Leisha flew beneath the sun. Tanus lifted his head and saw the eagle, circling the party. Tanus had to squint and cover his eyes when he noticed the emblems she wore reflecting off the sunlight. He instantly looked for Hemset who rode a little back and called him over.

"Hey, Hemset, what do you make of her then? What i'd give to have that ability.." He went on, knowing full well it was a Sorceress circling above. Many had been defeated when the two nations collided, but there would always be more to train. He assumed the Pharaoh would send somebody to find out why they had been delayed, and soon enough Leisha was coming down to land, just as the party passed the border in to Egypt. They were mere miles from the Palace now. The men gasped as they witnessed the golden eagle transform back in to a young woman, seconds before she hit the ground. She didn't look much younger than their escaped prisoner had, although she was twice that in real terms.

"Welcome to Egypt, Eldonians. I am Leisha." She said simply, looking the party over. She paused when she saw Hemset, noticing instantly that he was their Magician, before turning her gaze towards Tanus and Prince Cedric.
"You must be Prince Cedric, A pleasure to meet you sire." She offered a curtsey before turning back to Tanus.
"May i ask why some of your men are injured?" She asked, curiously noticing the bandages that some of the soldiers wore.

"We were attacked by a large group of bandits in the mountains. I lost several men, but thanks to Hemset here, they lost more. The cargo is safe, but we got delayed. Please send our apologies to your Pharaoh." Tanus replied, patting Hemset on the back.

Leisha looked again at the young Magician, her eyes full of flames clear to see. It had been his late master, Lakar, that was responsible for her re-birth, so it was reasonable to assume she looked at the boy with suspicion. They could become enemies quite easily. Luckily for her, it appeared as though he was barely past graduation, so he was no match for her, yet.

"A hero, it seems. Well done Hemset." Leisha said, smiling suspiciously at the boy.
"I will see you at the palace Prince Cedric. I must return to inform the Pharaoh you are near. Be safe" Leisha said.

The Egyptian Sorceress walked away from the group, her back to them and grinned. "See what you think of this, Magician." She said quietly, before the flames in her eyes erupted outwards and slowly spread across her body, burning the sand beneath her feet. She spread her arms as the flames grew hotter and sent waves a few feet either side, turning in to the wings of a Phoenix. Leisha turned to face the group once more, and smiled directly at Hemset, before completing her transformation. She pushed herself off the sandy floor and flew away, rather pleased with herself.

Hemset remained silent as questions about the prisoner were asked. He was much happier to have them assume he had been sleeping, since he had done little else since fighting the bandits.

As they made their way forward Cedric had given up his own place on horseback to another soldier that he decided needed it more. The prince pointed out that he had feet that worked perfectly well enough.

Hemset had noticed the eagle above and had been watching it with some curiosity. He hadn't really realized that it was a person up there, though Lakar had told him of shape shifters, he had never seen one with his own gaze before. His eyes widened as Leisha landed and now he understood what Tanus meant, and what Lakar had been talking about. It was a stunning ability and he couldn't help but hold a great admiration for it. It was... disheartening to see her anger towards him, he gripped the reins of his horse tightly (Cedric had insisted that he ride despite the mage insisting that he was fine now) and he returned Leisha's glare with his own. He wasn't going to back down and show weakness, not to any Egyptian. He had to prove he wasn't a push over or they might thing they could take him on and... well they probably could. But still, he didn't want to invite such a thing.

Cedric nodded respectfully to Leisha, "I would appreciate any healing aid the good Pharaoh could provide my men upon our arrival." he replied to her, trying very hard not to appear too impressed by her magic.

Hemset felt his lips part slightly in awe at the flames that transformed her. Such fire, such control over it all, it was astounding and it reminded him greatly of the incredible feats his late teacher had been capable of. The mage felt a yearning to ask her a thousand questions, to see what she could possibly teach him. He wanted nothing more than to understand these wondrous things she could do and all that was written clear as day across his face. He couldn't help it, it was everything he dreamed of.

As the company made their way to the city at last, the Pharaoh had a party waiting to greet them and to take over care of the soldiers and horses while Cedric, Tanus and Hemset were able to come and meet Nemiah himself at the grand Egyptian Palace.

Riding through the streets Hemset couldn't seem to keep his eyes on one thing or another and his horse kept straying from side to side as the Mage looked around. These people, this... everything was so different from anything he had ever seen before! Everyone using little magical abilities for their every day lives. A woman casting out a levitating clothes line to dry laundry on the roof. Children turning each other's skin different colours as part of some sort of game. Even street vendors trying to show off their merchandise by levitating it in front people's faces or making things like melons glitter like the sun to catch the eye.

The people parted quickly for the three to let them pass unencumbered. They saw Hemset's white cloak and would give a bow of respect, as though recognizing him as a mage of status-though they probably assumed he was as powerful as Leisha because of it which made the boy a tad uncomfortable. A few impressionable children caught Hemset's eye and they smiled and waved enthusiastically until Hemset finally gave a slight wave in return and they burst into fits of excited giggling. It was so... bizzare. Was this what it felt like to be a knight in Eldonia?

With Tanus however, they saw his sword and he received glares and looks of disgust or contempt. No one wanted to catch his eye and they gave the knight a wider berth than need be. Most people didn't know what to think of Tanus and once or twice the knight caught sight of a mother pulling her child close or calling someone inside for dinner which clearly it was too early for. Was this what it was like to be like Hemset back home? For most Eldonians didn't know how to act around a mage and tended to respond in fear and avoidance.

Cedric dismounted once they reached the Palace, this place was unnervingly different though he tried his best not to let it show. They were guided to the grant and very golden throne room of the Pharaoh, and Nemiah rose to his feet and stepped down the stairs to greet him with open arms. "Prince Cedric of Eldonia, greetings and welcome to my home and my lands."

Cedric bowed his head in respect to the Pharaoh, "Pharaoh Nemiah of Egypt, we are honored to be thy guests. I have brought gifts of Eldonia so that we may share in each other's cultures and be richer for it." servants brought a sample of spices and rare items to show the pharaoh who looked upon them pleasingly.

Nemiah bowed his head in return, "All that is mine is yours in your stay Prince Cedric. I believe you have already met my High Mage, Leisha" he introduced the woman again, "her flames burn eternally and her magic knows no bounds. This to, is Egypt's great warrior Zeta" he gestured to the other side of him to the dark skinned woman, "a master of blades and of cunning mind. Together they assure all safety here."

Cedric nodded, he hated these tedious introductions but such things were necessary he supposed and so it was his turn to continue the process, "Here stands Sir Tanus, our noblest of knights and a man who is unmatched in both skill and honor." he then turned to Hemset, "and this is Eldonia's high mage, Hemset." uh oh, what could he say about the boy? He hardly knew him, "a most courageous and powerful magician."

the Pharaoh raised a curious brow, "High mage?" he questioned, for the news of Lakar's death had not yet reached this far, "I did not realize one so young could hold the title."

He knew, of course he knew. Hemset's fingers curled into his fists as he tried very hard not to turn tail and run. In a whole city-a whole country of magicians, of course they would see right through someone like himself. There was no way he could match skills with anyone here, he was a novice, useless, pathetic in comparison.

"I regret to say that Lakar has passed on" Cedric informed the Pharaoh stiffly, "but in his stead he has left a man" dear god he had almost called Hemset a boy in front of the Pharaoh! "a man well worthy of the title despite age."

Nemiah nodded slowly, there was yet doubt in his eyes but he did not speak it. That would be rude. "You must be weary after such a journey. You will be shown to your quarters where you can rest and we will resume tonight at a feast prepared to celebrate your safe arrival."

Tanus felt awkward as he walked through the streets of Egypt towards the great Palace of Pharaoh Nemiah. He had always been celebrated as a strong, courageous man in Eldonia; one unmatched and able to survive unimaginable dangers. But here, In Egypt, women scowled and turned their children away, as if he was a criminal; a man of no morals, and a danger to them. He considered, perhaps it was because of the last wars. After all, Tanus himself killed many of their good soldiers in the name of King Ulric. Or maybe it was because he had used simply his strength and skill with his sword and shield, with no magic at his disposal, besides that of the great Lakar. Tanus also found it strange watched the crowd cheering their young Mage, as if he was a celebrity to be put on a pedestal. The knight had never seen so much magic, so openly used. How Lakar ever managed to defeat some of their sorcerers, he never knew. He hoped that Hemset would gain some insight in to the magic here, if only to make him a stronger magician.

Leisha looked on as the introductions were made, standing strong and confident. She had noticed the young magicians interest in the magic of Egypt and remained curious about his own skills. She wondered what Lakar had taught him, and what else he had yet to learn. Perhaps he is not a threat after all, she thought to herself. Lakar's passing was enlightening, but she had expected it to happen any time as he was aging man.

Tanus, Cedric and Hemset were soon shown to their quarters and they prepared for the evening entertainment. They would be introduced to the foods and wines of Egypt, then an array of entertainment would be shown to all, from magical illusions to egyptian dancers and presentations from the mercenaries newly recruited. Tanus and Hemset would no doubt be expected to showcase their talents too, which made the Knight nervous, but he was certainly excited to see just how talented Pharaoh Nemiah's warrior Zeta was. Females were forbidden to join the kings army in Eldonia, it was considered a mans line of work, but here in Egypt, there seemed to be a much higher equality.

Mae had been told not to sit with Pharaoh Nemiah during their first meeting, as impatient as she had been to meet the Prince from Eldonia. She did however sneak a look on their arrival and was far from disappointed. The young man looked strong, his arms showing off muscle by his shoulders where he clearly trained or fought, and he looked handsome from a distance, with clean cut hair and a soft complexion. She only thought it a shame he had no magical talents to speak of. 'Perhaps he has other talents...' She thought, or rather, she hoped. Mae shouted over her maidens to help her look beautiful for the evening, where she would be introduced by her Father formally to the Prince. She had been waiting for this day ever since her red flower started to bloom monthly. It was her time, and nothing could contain her happiness. She could feel the crown of gold and jewels sitting comfortably on her head, the thone beneath her birthing hips, and her own Princes and Princesses playing in the gardens by the castle, with servants and slaves to please their every wish. Mae loved Egypt, and she would have loved to be Queen Regent, at least. But the Eldonians had her curious, and besides, if the two royals married, then she would be able to add some culture to the medieval cities, and bring slavery back. After all, why waste gold paying ordinary men when you can force the law breakers and street sleepers to do it for free.

The travellers retired for awhile, each having their own room to relax in. Hemset didn't stay in it very long, there was too much that he wanted to see and explore and he had heard they had a library-what untold secrets could it hold? The young mage found himself searching the halls, exploring everywhere as he looked for it. It was also, perhaps a good idea to get an idea of where things were he supposed as well.

He ended spending quite a bit of time in the library when he found it and eventually a servant told him that the evening event was already under way and hemset sighed and sadly pulled himself away to go attend the party.

He hated these things.

The dancers were enchanting, cedric loved it, though he tried to contain his utter amazement at it all. All this magic, he hadn't realized how beautiful it could be.

Zeta of course was at the celebration though she seemed rather firmly planted on the outskirts of it, within view of her pharaoh should he need her. She wore a bold red dress that was quite open along the sides though held together from her hip up with a wide open stitch that showed off her sides yet kept her covered just enough. As always one blade adorned each hip, the hilts of which bore a polished chain of gold and steel that draped down her side and then up to her wrists where they were attached quite securely, assuring that she could never be disarmed.

Tanus had rather caught her interest when the man had been introduced earlier. A fellow warrior, a man of steel and not magic yet who held a place of honor-it was more than rare among Egyptians. She couldn't help but wonder how her own skills would match up against his.

((Perhaps the princess is introduced to the prince? Or we could see if Zeta and Tanus hit it off :P ))

Tanus was thoroughly enjoying the dancers. Their dark skinny frames and contorted movements amazed him. They showed confidence in every performance and used their skills in magic to make props around them dance in time to the music being played either side, using flutes and drums and young singers. Pieces of cloth and pottery floated above them and candles lit up the halls, providing an array of gorgeous colours. Tanus looked around the room trying to find the Pharaoh's youngest daughter Mae but as yet she had not arrived. He smiled again trying to imagine what she would look like now she was of marrying age. Looking further still he saw Nemiah's great warrior Zeta, stood alone by the wall watching on, and as he made eye contact with her, one of the soldiers he traveled with laughed, nudging him in the sides.
"Go on sir. Go and introduce yourself properly. I bet she has some interesting things to say. If you don't then i will." Matthias laughed, clearly having enjoyed his wine a little too much.
"Compose yourself Matthias. You will do no such thing." He scowled. "But perhaps another introduction before the fighting later isn't such a bad idea." He said, before walking towards the warrior, clearing his throat. Her red dress showed off her frame well, and he had to smile as he saw her skin glowing in the candle light, forgetting for a moment that she could probably equal him in the battle field. He would certainly find out soon enough.

"M'lady. I feel we may not have gotten chance to introduce ourselves properly earlier. I am Sir Tanus." He said, bowing.

On the other side of the hall, just behind the entrance stood Mae, surrounded by her maidens, dressed in her finest white gown. Her long black hair flowed far down her back reaching just below her hips, and she wore a beautiful golden weskhet collar around her neck, resting nicely on her chest. Mae's maidens brushed down her dress one last time as she prepared to be introduced.

The music was stopped as one of her maidens made it known she was ready to enter, and one of the Pharaohs advisors stood to introduce her.

"Prince Cedric, heir to the throne of Eldonia, on behalf of Pharaoh Nemiah, King of Egypt, it is my greatest pleasure to introduce to you, the beautiful Princess Mae!" He exclaimed, followed by a round of applause from everybody in the room.

Mae proudly walked forward, with her head held high towards her Father, where Cedric was stood close by. This was the moment she had been waiting for, and she was nervous as hell. She kept eye contact with Prince Cedric as she approached, with a big smile on her face. He really was handsome. Truth be told, the people of Egypt worshipped Mae. They thought her innocent with a pure heart full of love to give her nation. But she was much darker than she appeared. Mae took pleasure in torturing her slaves, especially Tata, whom she had made a eunuch just months ago when she caught him making love to another male slave. She decided that rather than killing the slave for his crime, he deserved to be punished in life, forever hers to own. Mae forced one of her guards to murder Tata's lover, tearing him limb from limb in the most slow and painful way, while poor Tata watched helplessly, begging to take his place. And as this clearly wasn't enough for the princess, she then ordered him to be made eunuch, so he could never indulge himself in to any form of pleasure again. Tata now sleeps in chains in a wooden cage in her quarters. The Princess had no sympathy for the slaves in the palace. They were there to serve her family, nothing more. This was only part of her story though. She had many more secrets and desires that many would call dark. She secretly trained with swords similar to those worn by Zeta and she often entertained herself with other male slaves, demanding they teach her in the arts of love so she would be ready for her Prince. Mae knew exactly how to please the crowds but she hid well her other side. Any guard that dared to reveal her desires would find himself in a similar fate to Tata's lover.

As the celebrations in Egypt were in full swing introducing the Eldonians to their country, Rohesia had just arrived back in Frodan. Several thieves guarded the entrance and threw up their weapons and they saw her approach.
"Who comes?!" One shouted.
"Rohesia! Let me in I'm Freezing!" She shouted back.
"Ro? We thought you died on the upper level!" Another guard shouted.
"Do i look dead to you? Now let me in, i have news for Malum!" She replied as she reached the guards.
"Woah girl, you stink. I would seriously think about cleaning up first." The first man spoke again, holding his nose in jest.
"Shut your mouth Xander, before i do it for you. Now move!" Rohesia shouted, pushing past the men at the gate. She wasn't usually that rude to the guards, but Xander and her had somewhat of a history. Rohesia headed inside to wash and change in to something more comfortable before sending a message to the dark prince. He would no doubt be over soon enough to hear her news.

Zeta turned to look at him and permitted a smile, "Sir Tanus. I have heard many things" she held her hand out in greeting, the gold embellished chain dangling from her wrist, "Not much good mind you, but from perspective of past quarrels, I have filtered the words according." it was her attempt at a light joke, though she wasn't terribly good at making jokes so she could only hope it came across well intended.

Cedric had been trying to enjoy himself without enjoying himself too much, which really put something of a damper on the evening. He couldn't just have a few drinks and kick back with the constant concern that he might accidentally insult someone and start an international incident. But still, the entertainment was sound and the conversation decent, but all of it seemed to come to a momentary pause when the princess of Egypt was introduced.

Not a hair out of place, Cedric noted as he blinked at her. She was as beautiful as the rumors told and those eyes, so intense and never seeming to waver from his own gaze, it made it impossible to look away.
Rising from his seat Cedric smiled and gently took her hand to kiss before greeting her with a courteous bow, "Princess Mae, it is an honour to meet you" thank god that all the motions of chivalry had been so well ingrained in him, or he might have forgotten them upon seeing her.

Malum had eyes and ears everywhere, and when Ro returned home to change, the dark King was already sitting in one of her chairs waiting. The only other person there was an eight year old boy who looked far too afraid to move, and possibly ready to pass out from holding his breath. Evidently Malum had already found a new toy.

"Rohesia, Rohesia, Rohesia" the King smiled at her and rose to greet her with an embrace. One never knew if they would just get a hug or a knife in the back from one of Malum's embraces, but it was even more foolhearty to deny one. "Whew, you do no smell pleasant" he pulled away almost instantly and went back to his seat, "So, my dear. What did you tell them?"

Rohesia almost jumped out of her skin when she realised the King was already in her room, and she went stiff as he joined her in a hug. She had almost expected to drop to the floor in a pool of blood when the King pulled away. She quickly composed herself and took another seat, looking in to the young boys wide eyes filled with fear who was sat on the floor beside Malum.

"My apologies my King. I did not expect you here so soon." She said, anxiously, planning her next words carefully. If she said too much, she was as good as dead anyway, but if he decided he didn't believe her, that would be much worse.
"There is nothing to fear Malum. The Prince believed we was bandits from Eldonia. I would never put our home at risk." Ro stood and splashed her face with the bucket of water on the floor, drying herself with the blanket, before continuing.
"They were going to take me to Egypt. Probably would have made me a slave, but i persuaded that Mage to free me when i threatened to reveal his past."

Ro decided it was best to wait for the Dark King's reply before saying anything else. If Malum did not believe her, he would make it known and not care for anymore of her lies. She tried her best to remain calm and waited for the Kings reply.

"So you say" Malum's eyes never stopped watching her, evaluating every movement, every syllable. He raised a brow at her news, he was curious at least, "the mage? I didn't happen to get a clear view of him, you know him then?" he asked as the child next to him suddenly passed out. The King barely glanced at the child, "Can't hold his breath very long. Tsk. So hard to find someone who will last until morning." he commented idly before setting his gaze back on Ro. He was leaning back in the simply chair, had it been anyone else they might have even mistaken him for relaxed, "He just let you go then? That doesn't seem like a very Eldonian thing to do. What are you holding back Rohesia?" It was eerie the way he remembered carefully the names of everyone he met. He could pick you out of a crowd after merely meeting you in passing, even if it was a year later. Once he knew your name, he would never forget you-given he caught a decent look at you anyway.

Rohesia watched as the child slumped over unconscious, pitiful and weak. He would no doubt be dead by morning, quickly replaced by another, unless the King decided more fun was to be had when he woke up.
"Oh yes i know him, and so do you. Remember that boy Hemset you used to keep close some time ago? He's high mage now. And they just assume he's some posh kid Lakar trained up to replace him. They have no idea! He said he'd help me escape if i kept my mouth shut. So i did." She said, with a thousand questions going through her mind, her curiosity taking hold. She knew it wasn't her place to ask though, so she kept them to herself, besides one.

"How does a kid like that end up being Lakar's replacement?" She asked, pointing at the boy on the floor again, considering all the possible ways he could have ended up in Eldonia under Lakar's wing. Rohesia only had one more thing to tell Malum, and that was the threat Hemset had left her with. But she knew full well a threat would not stop him, so why bother?

Malum actually froze in place, his eyes wandering as he thought back. "Hemset... that cheeky bas!ard..." a grin touched his lips. Hemset had been his little pet for about a year, much longer than the others. Somehow the child had always managed to keep the King's interest.
Leaning forward now, Ro had Malum's full attention. "Can you keep a secret little Ro?" he inquired curiously. Regardlessly he continued, "little Sety was special. He was born with more magic than most mages can dream of developing with years of hard work. He was a very good source" the King licked his lips, "Though he hardly knew it, and he always lacked control. but then Lakar showed up one day, yes he used to visit around these parts now and again. I always enjoyed our little banter back and forth but once he found out about the boy, he was so determined to take him from me. So I stuck a dagger into Hemset and handed him over. I didn't want anything like a simple child to get between us"

He leaned back again thoughtfully, "the old man must have found a way to save him. Now I'm quite glad that I had Lakar poisoned. Though I suppose I should've done it much sooner then"

Ro took in every word that came from Malums lips, feeding her curiosity, and at the same time, feeling a position of power. Being privy to information not many others knew was certainly something to be happy about.

"That would certainly explain it. Shouldn't we be trying to stop him before he gets any stronger? He almost killed everybody up there. And if they are on their way to Egypt...." She paused, thinking a moment about his threat again. Egypt was full of sorcerers much stronger than he, almost everybody was able to use it in one way or another. And Rohesia considered the likelihood of Hemset learning a few things while he was there.

"Maybe it's time we recruited a Sorcerer? I'd bet not everybody's happy about Lakar's apprentice being there, given his role in the last war." She suggested, testing out her new position as secret keeper.

Tanus was taken back by Zeta's comment, at first, but considering her smile, he simply took it in jest. “Perhaps that is for the best Zeta. Times have certainly changed, and I am pleased that they have.” He said, returning the smile, before looking towards the Princess as she entered. He couldn't help but let out a slight laugh when he spotted the Prince greeting young Mae, suddenly regretting his outburst. He had half expected Cedric to mess up, and was at least relieved that he hadn't.
“Oh my. I do apologise.” He said. “I am just pleased he acted accordingly.” Tanus watched as the Prince and Princess Mae took their seats beside each other and he couldn't help but feel a sense of happiness for the pair.
“They would certainly make a handsome couple, don't you think?” He suggested, trying his best not to say the wrong thing.

Mae held her suggestive smile, biting the corner of her lip as the Prince kissed her hand. She feigned a blush and looked over at her Father, letting him know she had finally found her man. Mae would have to be on her best behaviour while the Eldonian's were in Egypt if she was to become Cedrics Queen. But a little flirting couldn't do any harm, could it?

“Oh my. The pleasure is mine Prince Cedric.” She said, placing her free hand against her chest, before they took their seats. Once they were seated she leaned over towards him and whispered in his ear.
“You really are as handsome as they say.” She said, flirtatiously.

Leisha looked on, proud of the evenings events so far. All had gone well, and the dancers had not faltered in their magic. But it was only the formalities for now. Once everybody had eaten it was time to go outside and show them a real show. She and other shape changers had prepared a special treat for the Eldonian's. And Leisha had set up one of her younger Sorcerers to test her skills against young Hemset. She didn't feel it would be fair to challenge the boy personally until she knew how much he could do. After all, turning Eldonia's only Mage in to ash would probably not go down very well with the Prince. Leisha looked for the young Magician who sat quietly alone and decided to approach him.
“Don't be so nervous Hemset.” She said, commenting on the fact she had not seen him speak to anybody else yet.
“We Egyptians take pleasure in celebrating gifts like yours. I expect that is not something you are used to, correct?” She asked.

"Do you not believe me capable to handle him myself?" Malum looked at Ro sharply. It was rumored that Malum had some magical gifts but he showed them on such rare occasion that many thought it to be just another rumor. Or perhaps he believed he could take on the young Mage without any magic himself? Either way, it was unclear.

Malum rose from his seat again and stepped towards Ro, "Now, tell me my dear" he tucked her hair behind her ear, ever so gently, "what did he want to say to me?" it was an easy guess, to Malum at least. He did tend to leave a lasting impression on people and in Hemset's case, he was certain the little mage, with all his unresolved issues, had had some message for him. That, and he knew the boy, he knew Hemset so very, very well.

"Handsome, yes perhaps" Zeta's smile lessened when she looked over to the princess. Of course the pair looked like a good match, at least physically they were of comparable beauty but what could be said about their hearts? She had yet to be sure of Cedric's true nature, but thus far the prince seemed fair and kind and that in itself did not make it feel like he and the princess would be a good match at all.

Cedric smiled in reply to Mae, "I'm afraid the same cannot be said for you" he replied and before she could even finish being insulted he added swiftly, "because there are no words capable of describing such beauty" He had to admit, even though the prince was fairly set on not marrying so soon... He certainly wouldn't mind waking up to that face every day.

Hemset had been trying very, very hard to be as courteous as possible while staying away from other people and their attempts at conversation, but he had rather found himself the center of a lot of curiosity. People didn't know what to make of an Eldonian mage, let alone of one so young and the few that had attempted to come and talk to him had been shot down and quickly ended up leaving him alone.

And now Leisha was one of them. Breathe Hemset told himself, practicing the tactics he used to keep himself grounded and calm while casting. The sand was rather annoying towards that fact however, so he'd had to find a good place on solid stone to keep himself. The sand shifted so much beneath his feet, it was hard to really feel stable.

"No. It is not." the mage replied curtly, avoiding Leisha's gaze for the moment. Lakar had called his magic a 'gift' as well, despite Hemset's protests to the contrary. He hazarded a glance towards her, however brief, the image of her engulfed in flame and turning into a bird was still branded in his mind's eye. "He spoke rather highly of you" offered the mage, "L-Lakar that is."

Rohesia looked in to the dark Kings odd coloured eyes as he asked her a question, a shiver traveling down her spine as he touched her ear. As odd as Malum looked, and as evil as his intentions usually were, she did hold a great admiration for him, constantly seeking his appraisal.
“He would be no match for you, of course Malum.” She said, quickly correcting her last comment, not wishing to offend him. Of course he would have guessed there would be a message. It was silly of her to assume he wouldn't ask.
“Oh...yeah. He wanted me to warn you that if you try to attack them on their way back, he would not leave any survivors this time. Confident of himself isn't he?” She said, wondering what Malum would plan next. She would certainly have to do better than last time if he wanted her to help. The Knight had not been fooled by her lies, and the men recognized her now, they would certainly not fall for her ruse again.

Tanus turned his gaze back to the Zeta, who was now watching the Princess and Cedric talking. He saw the smiles on both of their faces and wondered what they spoke about, and for the moment he forgot what was coming next. He would have to spar with the female warrior in full view of the Egyptians, who didn't exactly give him the warmest of welcomes. If he caused her any damage he would surely be the cause of some upset. Tanus was a heavy man, and he could easily send a soldier in to the air with his shield. He considered his tactics towards the woman, who was clearly much lighter than he. Tanus had never fought a woman before. It was hard for him to imagine how she could have gotten to such a high status.

“So I see you favour the twin blades over a shield. Speed over strength, perhaps? Or do you use magic as well?” He asked, trying to calculate his chances.

The flames in Leisha's eyes suddenly took over at the mention of Lakar, her blood turning as hot as a furnace. She quickly closed her eyes and began silently incanting an ancient language with her head turned, to cool herself back down. The Phoenix was the only form she often struggled to control, especially since her re-birth. It was almost as if the great fire bird was a child, trying to break out of her nest. If her emotions were not in check, the Phoenix would take over, and it took everything she had to keep it at bay when she re-lived her dying moments, by Lakars own hand. She wondered just how much the boy knew about her. Had Lakar told her he had killed her once already? Leisha had not expected to survive. It was as much of a shock to her as it had to any body else when she crawled out of the ashes a few hours after the battle had ended. Many had wondered if Leisha was indeed an immortal, or if it had just been a lucky turn of fate. Turning back to face the boy, she spoke softly, trying to keep her mind clear.
“Of course he would. Although I can't exactly say our last meeting ended on good terms, as you may have been told.” She replied.
“Never the less, that is in the past. Are you ready for your presentation? Look out for the girl with the red hair, she will be paired with you. And don't try too hard. It is more about the illusion than the skill tonight, you are not in danger. Please the civilians, and you will be much loved here.”
Considering what she said, Leisha looked over the hall and spotted Tanus speaking with their warrior Zeta.
“As for your Knight, I do hope he is well prepared. He might think his strength is his advantage, but he has not seen her fight yet. If the crowd wants to see him spitting out sand for the next week, she would be a fool to deny them..”

The next thing Rohesia knew, Malum was roaring in laughter. It took several long minutes, double over in a fit of giggles before he was able to wipe a tear from his eye and calm enough again to speak. "He said... No survivors? Oh very good Ro. Did he really? Or perhaps you should be a jester for I have not laughed like that in far too long" he sighed happily and leaned back against the table, "By Osiris' eye, that is the best thing I've heard in months. Tell me now, how are your skills with a bow?" he inquired, his eyes sparkling mischievously. He already had a plan.

Zeta looked back to Tanus as well and gave a smile, "Of magic and shield I have none, and yet I have found neither necessary when battling men and women alike. I hear it is uncommon for Eldonian women to pick up a blade, though here it is uncommon for anyone, regardless of sex, to do so. Thus I think you will find me one of a kind Sir Tanus. I look forward to our match, it is too rare that I get to battle an opponent on equal footing. Though I must admit, it will be a pleasant experience to not have to dodge great balls of fire for once." she chuckled. Too often her opponents were magic users, she was eager to test her skills against another blade that was equally trained.

He had angered her, Hemset could see that immediately and he shied back a few inches while she took a moment to calm herself. Duly noted. Do not speak of Lakar... well there goes almost all my conversation material. Back to saying nothing. he thought quietly, just about ready to fully retreat when Leisha spoke again. Her words seemed to catch him off guard and he looked up at her confused again, "It will not be you?" he questioned before he could stop the words. Of course it wouldn't be Leisha, why would they bother pitting their high mage against Eldonia's when he was so obviously inferior? He couldn't help but feel the bite of insult all the same. They just assumed, having never even seen what he can do, they assumed like everyone else that he was too young and too inexperienced. Even if he only managed to hold out for ten minutes against Leisha, to him that would be a victory. But to avoid the match completely... was like saying he wouldn't make it past the first round.

"Sir Tanus is unbeatable with a sword" Hemset's words were biting, he couldn't help it, "Perhaps it would be better to find someone more on Zeta's level." he said pointedly, "Not that I've seen much of her, but clearly an Egyptian, even of her status wouldn't be much of a match against Eldonian skill. You and Sir Tanus can watch together from the sidelines"

Malum never seized to amaze Rohesia. His moods were rather, how can you put it, unpredictable. She had half expected him to react in anger at receiving a threat from one of his old pets, and yet, here he was, laughing, and comparing her to a jester. She decided to join him in a laugh, but soon cut it short as he asked how her skills were honed with a bow. She hadn't had as much experience in archery, having favour for throwing knives, but Ro had competed with many other thieves with a bow, when there were times of quiet and play, hitting the target almost every time, yet she had never practiced in combat before.
“I hit the target every time in the games my King, but I have yet to use those skills in combat. I will familiarise myself right away” She said, standing to look for her bow, hidden somewhere in her belongings, unless another thieve had decided it was much more useful in their possession.
“What is your plan?” She asked, inquisitively. Once again Ro had been chosen to be part of the Dark Kings plan, and this pleased her greatly. She grinned intensely as she found her bow and quiver with several arrowheads still inside. If this time went better than the last, she would surely be considered of higher status. To the other thieves. She would be respected, and perhaps even protected. Then again, she hadn't been killed by his hand yet, so that was already an achievement it itself. He clearly saw potential in her, and she knew it, but one could not be too confident in themselves under his power. He could change his mind in a moment, and she knew that, too.

Tanus was still smiling as Zeta spoke. He was surprised by how much he was enjoying their conversation on battle tactics; having never had the pleasure before with, In his opinion at least, an attractive woman. Any conversation he had with women in the castle or in the taverns surrounding Eldonia was soon lost on him. He was no novice with the opposite sex of course, what soldier wasn't, but he had yet to find one he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with once they had enjoyed themselves in other ways.
“I have to admit, I am pleased to hear you say that. I look forward to our spar Zeta.” He paused, before turning his smile in to a cheeky grin.
“I'll be sure to go easy on you then.” He joked, before bowing and heading away to put on his armour. He could see the party was coming to an end . The presentation from the sorcerers would be next, then it was time for the spars.

Leisha felt she had insulted the young magician as he suggested a more 'equal' partner. But she had to smile at his confidence, a thing she had not noticed from the boy yet.
“I see the Pharaohs decision to place you with a younger Sorceress had not been received well Hemset. I have to admit, I was hoping you would object. Perhaps you would like to compete with me then?” She asked, with a curious smile. She had rather hoped that would be the case, but after seeing the age of the boy on their introduction, Nemiah had thought it better with a younger opponent, much to her disappointment. Besides, who is right to judge a boys talents by their age? She had only been young when the Phoenix showed itself the first time, and she soon rose in status once she learned to control it. Perhaps Hemset was yet to reach his full potential, and there was no better teacher than her.
“I will go and speak to our Pharaoh. Go and get ready, I will be presenting our sorcerers shortly, then once Zeta and Tanus fight, it will be our turn. Good luck Hemset.” She said, before turning towards the Pharaoh. Leisha was looking forward to Zeta and Tanus, much more than anybody else, as they had less interest for non magic users, but she had a great respect for Zeta, who had overcome her lack of magic by becoming an expert with her twin blades. Anybody that was able to block magic without the use of it themselves impressed her. She wondered, if Zeta would request that the Prince join Tanus in their battle. Two against one would surely provide the crowd with a more interesting battle, especially if this is a possible match for Princess Mae.

"My Plan? Dear Ro, my plan" Malum chuckled, still rather amused at the thought of Hemset's 'threat', "I just want to give them a visit. After all, I just found out my dear friend yet lives" he strolled towards the exit cheerily, though paused at the door, "Oh, and kill that little waste of space will you?" he gestured to the boy who was just coming around now. The door swung shut behind Malum and the child looked up towards Ro with big, fearful eyes.

"I will hunt you down like a beast if you dare" Zeta called back to Tanus as he left, though there was a smile on her face as she said it. If he did go easy on her, his defeat would only be more swift. She to left the celebrations to prepare for the fight.

"I am always prepared" Hemset replied stiffly. He might not be overly confident in many things, but once his mind had been set upon a task, there was a fierce determination that filled his eyes. Anyone who had the misfortune to underestimate him, he would stubbornly prove wrong. What he lacked in confidence he more than made up for in stubbornness it seemed.

The party came to a close and people began to gather around a central location. It was an arena of sorts, though more often used to display magical talents and other things of beauty rather than the less common combat. The ground was covered in a thick layer of sand as most things were in Egypt, though this one was on purpose because it provided a softer landing than harsh stone would.

Nemiah had hesitantly agreed to Leisha competing with Hemset, it was a fair point after all, not to assume the boy weak because of his age. But still... the Pharaoh did not want the Eldonian Mage harmed beyond reason either. So he told Leisha to be cautious and then joined Cedric and Mae to watch the events unfold.

Cedric was more interested to see how Tanus and Zeta would fair, he had witness Hemset's magic before and he felt fairly confident that the boy would do just fine. Perhaps he was the only one who thought so.

The sorcerers began their opening show however and Cedric's eyes widened a little at their display. Could Hemset really do something like that? Suddenly the prince wasn't so certain. (not sure if you want to describe it or not, feel free to add because I don't know what to say XD)

Then it was time for the two warriors. Zeta stepped confidently onto the field, the chains on her swords clinking with every step across the sand. Her dark eyes locked with Tanus and refused to stray as she slowly unsheathed each of her twin blades. The night had mostly settled in but their field was well lit by raging fires on top of the pillars as well as the sand itself that seemed to glow lightly. Zeta stood at the ready, and upon the sound of their match beginning, she clanged her own swords together, a spark igniting the oil that they were coated in and suddenly the woman was brandishing flaming blades that cast a new, fierce light upon the arena. A smirk of confidence touched her lips as she began to circle with Tanus, waiting for him to make the first move.

Zeta rarely struck first, her eyes steady and calculating, looking for where the first attack would come from. After all, magicians were usually more ranged fighters and were only ever really left open right after casting a spell-or sometimes during but that was less advisable to interfere with. She had learned that it was typically better to deal with the completed spell rather than the lasting effects of an interrupted one.

'Kill the boy?' Rohesia silently thought once Malum had left. What could she do? She had killed many men and women, but never a child; a helpless waste of space too terrified to be taught the skills of a theif. Rohesia looked down at the wide eyed boy, who's tears were falling as he understood what Malum had asked of her. It was a dilemma to say the least. Help the boy, and face (most likely) severe punishment from her King for disobeying his order, or kill the boy, and earn more respect.
'think of him like Hemset.' She thought. 'If I don't do it now, he could turn against us later'. Rohesia bit her lip nervously and called the boy over. He tried to plead but could not speak for fear.
“Don't worry child. You are safe. Come and sit with me,” She said, letting the boy sit on her knee. He threw his arms around her shoulders squeezing as he would his mother, his head resting over Ro's shoulder. Such a helpless boy, yet another child who had failed to please her great master.
“Shush now. Be brave.” She said, stroking the boys short messy hair. Soon he was settling down, his cries turning into sniffling and his eyes closed. He was clearly exhausted as he started to drop off in her arms. Rohesia slowly reached for the dagger hidden behind her as the boy relaxed and, just as quickly as Malum had left, stabbed him in the back, directly through to his heart. The boy hardly moved, except to release his last breath from the tiny blood filled lungs. As he went limp Rohesia laid him on the floor, and went to wash, as if nothing had happened, before clothing herself in the only Egyptian style dress she could find. It was short and green, with a few tears down the sides where it's previous owner had been cut down, but closed up with pins so her thighs could remain modestly covered.
Rohesia left the building with her bow, and hid three of her daggers beneath the skirt. She spotted three young boys, perhaps no older than 12, sitting around the fire joking about their recent pickpocketing spree.
“You there! I have a job for you.” She demanded, and the tallest boy stood up to face her. His over confidence at surviving this long clearly misjudging Rohesia.
“And why should I listen to you? You are not my master.” the tall boy replied, confidently stupid.
Rohesia took one of the daggers out of her underskirt and immediately threw the boy down, pointing the dagger towards his neck. The boy let out a short screech, leading the other two to stand up in fear.
“Because if you don't, I will personally see to it that YOUR master the KING has you chastised beyond all recognition!” She paused as the boys eyes widened, pleading for his life.
“Now, see that hut over there? I need you boys to clean it and dispose of the body. Malum has no time for boys who don't obey orders. Do a good job and i'll make sure he doesn't make any of you his next pet. Got it?” She threatened angrily, rather enjoying adding fear to their lives. They would not last two minutes with an attitude like that, without knowing who was speaking to them first. Had Malum heard them perhaps it would have been different. But judging by the speed in which all 3 boys ran towards her hut once she released the first, Ro expected her threat had worked. She then set off to practice her aims in the target area, until Malum sent word it was time to go.

Tanus circled Zeta the warrior as her twin blades erupted in to those filled with flames. 'Clever...' he thought, wishing he had thought of a similar tactic. She had certainly learned how to appear as a magic user, without the need of spells. Tanus considered his first move, not wishing to travel back to Eldonia with third degree burns across his brutish face. He feigned an attack, lifting his sword in the air, before spinning quickly and bashing Zeta with his heavy shield, sending her back a few feet but not quite to the floor.
“You are stronger than you look, it seems.” He said, preparing for the counter attack.

Leisha looked on curiously at the two warriors, one with strength and the other with cunning attack strategies. They were indeed a good match, but she had seen Zeta fight before as powerfully as the sorcerers she trained. Her presentation had gone down well with both the Egyptians and the Eldonians, with cheers and applause after every spell was cast. Great fireballs erupted in to the skies, exploding above the arena like fireworks, while shape changers used their array of colourful forms to fly around the arena, roaring and squawking at each other, as if a great battle was being fought. Leisha had stayed in the centre, her head buried in her hands, feigning capture, as lions circled her, ready to attack. She then transformed in a split second, turning her whole body in to one great furnace, throwing herself in to the skies spinning as fast as she could, creating a fiery tornado. The heat from her flames could be felt across the arena and even Tanus had to shield himself. Leisha had ended the presentation spectacularly, all the lions lay dead around her, slowly transforming back into their human forms, before a new face, a child ran in to the arena, seemingly from nowhere, sending a deluge of ice and frost towards Leisha, freezing her inside the tornado of flames, but even this wasn't enough to stop the head Sorceress, and she soon broke free revealing her human form once again.

The flames were mostly for show, Zeta would admit. If anything the heat on the blades would help cauterize any wound she inflicted which, if she actually wanted to kill someone, would only work against her. But in these shows of skill, it did give the crowd something more interesting to catch their eye in the dark.

Tanus was strong, very strong. Compared to most thinly build egyptians he hit like a freaking hammer and it took a lot of her own strength to keep from getting bowled over completely. It was exhilarating!

"Perhaps you were not looking in the right place" Zeta smirked and gave a wink, she was well aware of how drastically different Egyptian and Eldonia women dressed, though who could blame them? Egypt was hot and Eldonia could get quite cool, which meant that by Eldonian standards, Egyptian women were half naked and... distracting.

Now it was time to strike back. Zeta charged forward like lightning and the next thing Tanus knew she was actually leaping up over him, her swords slashing downward to attack him from above!
