PrivateRP: Tana and Acheron
Ezra lifted the bottle to his lips, idly watching as the bartender moved down to the busier end of the bar. He sat, back facing the wall, observing his surroundings with a cold, calculated demeanor. Leaning back into the shadows of the booth, he tuned out the younger couple near him whose date seemed to be going well.
His mission, to be exact, was sitting at the end of the bar, chatting coyly with a... well he wasn't sure. He'd say it was a preacher, but they were in the not-so-frequented-by-the-holier-than-thou district of this town. And it was a bar. That was like the punchline of a bad joke. Leaning forward once more, he concentrated his hearing in an attempt to pick up the conversation between the two gents. He needed to find out what they were up to; there were no leads on this damned intervention he was supposed to lead. Alone. Frustrated, he dropped his drink to the table a little harder than needed, a low growl escaping his throat. He couldn't pick up a word of their conversation. The couple next to him were sucking face a little too loudly, drowning out all other possible conversations from his hearing range. His eyes flashed black for a moment, glowering at the table as he tried to calm his nerves. No need for a scene here, this needed to be an in-and-out mission. His boss wanted news pronto, or there would be.. Hell to pay. |
Aviv talked to the priest excitedly, while the bartender threw glares at the young man, who came to this bar and ordered juice? Juice! At least the excited fellow had also ordered food.
Aviv shook his head, "Of course he does not forget, but he is appalled by the behavior of his creations, many of whom have forgotten. Even yourself, a man of the cloth has forgotten." He said and turned to his food. French fries and a cheese burger, Oh how he loved human food! It had such variety. Aviv pulled his long dark hair over his shoulder as he listened to the drunken words of a priest who did not believe in what he preached. So many had forgotten that it saddened him and he sighed, shaking his head. What was he to do? Many people demanded visual proof of what existed before they would belive it, not many had faith anymore. |
Ezra finished his drink- a dry Irish cider- and scooted out of his booth. He walked towards the bar and sat a few seats down from the preacher and his... companion. He didn't recognize this angel, probably wouldn't recognize many of them it had been so long since his last encounters with one, but he had to admit this one glowed a little more than he remembered. Not a glow that was recognizable to the human race, but an inner one that was sickening to think about.
Unfortunately, this angel was particularly his type of guy. Ezra hadn't seen his face yet, but he was enticed by the long hair that looked soft as silk, and delicate but strong hands that were probably as soft as the clouds these guys mingled on with harps and ponies surrounding them. Smirking, he turned to wave the bartender down for another drink. |
Aviv continued to bable, until the priest put his cup down rather harshly, "If he loves us so much then why do we have such loss!?" He yelled before storming out, or rather swaying out and hitting several chairs and patrons on his way. Aviv sighed but continued to eat. He knew this would be hard when he took the mission, he had thought a good place to start would have been one of the churches. "Hmmm...where to go now?" He murmured and put his elbow on the table and rested his head on his fist. He munched on a fry as he thought, "Mmm...maybe the people would be a better choice." He said softly as he ate, oblivious to the thoughts of those around him, he certainly looked innocent, much to innocent to be in a place like this. One man stood from a full table, his friends snickering as he made his way to the bar and stood next to Aviv, "Well hello cutie, I would love for you to come home with me." The stranger said and placed a hand on Aviv's lower back.
The angel stiffened at the touch and turned to look at at the stranger. Said stranger leaned closer and Aviv tried to lean away, he did not notice when the stranger slipped something into his drink. |
Ezra sighed as the preacher stumbled from the pub. There really was no need to encourage humans to be greedy, overindulged, evil little beings. His job as a demon was rather useless in the 21st century. Swigging back his drink, he went to pull out his mobile device- something of a joke, used to communicate between worlds when he was "above ground" on a mission.
A commotion beside him brought his attention back to the angel, who was now turned facing him, in a manner. Another man hovered over him, placing his arm on the angels back. Ezra glanced at the man, then gazed straight at the victim, who had a tense look across his... remarkably angelic face. Rubbing his chin, Ezra sat back in his chair, waiting to see how this played out. He was told not to interfere or communicate with the subject of this mission in particular, and would stay out of it as long as there was no immediate threat. To his mission. |
Aviv tried to back away form the stranger but was blocked by the hand that was placed on his back. "Excuse me sir, but remove your hand from my person please." He told the man as he took a sip of his drink, frowning at the cup as he put it back down.
"Mmm, but cutie, I would love to get to know you better." The man replied huskily and tried to pull Aviv closer to him. The angel's eyes widened and he had to place hands on the strangers chest to keep his own from being pressed against it as he was pulled from his chair. Aviv's eyes widened and he squirmed as he tried to get away from the stranger's strong grip, "Why are you doing this?" He asked as he pushed as hard as he could, the man however was to strong for the slim angel and he could not get the man to let go. "Because I want you, and I take what is mine." The man growled as Aviv's vision started to blur and he shook his head trying to clear it. |
The angel.. didn't look well. Ezra had a feeling the punk messing with him was being more overly flirty than necessary. And it didn't seem anyone else care, which wasn't a surprise coming from this particular pub.
"Hey." Sitting his drink on the bar, he lazily twirled his finger around the rim of the bottle. "Hey, buddy." Ezra stood, towering over the man, who smelled of cheap liquor and... nachos? He wasn't sure. Anyways, he gripped the guys shoulder "I don't think he's interested." The man looked up at him, scowling "It's none of your business, wise ass." He pulled out from under Ezra's grip, leaning closer to the angel who seemed to be having trouble focusing. Oh well. He'd been itching for a fight since he came up. "I think I"ll make it my business." Pulling his arm back, he balled his fist and laid into the other mans face, hearing a satisfying crunch as the man crumbled to the ground. His cronies at the table lurched forward, outraged. Woops. |
Aviv tried to focus, all he could really see was a bunch of blurs that were the patrons. He sat back down in his chair and slumped against the bar. He was loosing very quickly with the roofie that the man had slipped him and he was trying to remain conscious as he saw the other blurs stand and a bar fight ensue. He lost sight of the blurs and all he could see was black just as the stranger's friends got up and all jumped his savior, four blurs in total. Then he was gone to the world and as his body went limp he slid from his chair into a heap on the floor next to his chair.
|
Ezra, without much conflict, sent the young men to their knees, begging for mercy within mere seconds. "It isn't me you ask for mercy... you asshats." Shoving the closest man in the face with his heavy boot, Ezra turned away, rubbing his raw knuckles.
Glancing around, he saw the bartender idly wiping a glass out as he nodded towards him. "Sorry for the mess." Slapping a bill on the counter, he looked around for his angel friend, catching a glimpse of his slumped form against the bar floor. "Ah, shit..." Walking over, he reached down and pulled the mans arm over his shoulder, dragging his deadweight up to lean against him. "Let's get you outside into the fresh air." He carefully walked towards the exit, crudely analyzing his surroundings. It was almost dusk, the air salty and bitter. There wasn't anywhere he could really go, with an angel at least. |
Aviv was only out for twenty minutes, though the disorientation the drug had started out with remained and he had difficulty standing on his own, as if he had drank too much. He tried to push himself away from Ezra, only to end up clinging to him for a moment before he lurched away and leaned on the pole of a bus stop sign and threw up as he slid to his knees. It was a horrid feeling, his body trying to expel the drug it was subjected to. After dry heaving for a few monents he wiped at his mouth with the sleeve of his white shirt, groaning as his stomach protested for a moment longer. He was still dissoriented and was currently unable to stand on his own, though he did turn to Ezra. "Why save me from him? You must know what I am...I know what you are." He murmured, his voice hoarse from retching as he took in the demon's figure.
|
Ezra tapped the bottom of his carton, knocking a cigarette lose and putting it between his lips. He felt a twinge of guilt for not helping this angel while he was pale and sick. He lit the cigarette, inhaling the sinful taste. "I'm just curious, how did that drug affect you... the big Man take your grace or something, or do you have to appear human to the fullest extent, no powers?" This would be beneficial information for his superiors, but he could give a rats ass about that now. He was more curious about why he had decided to help the angel out, instead of walk away like any sane demon would do.
Leaning against the pole, he looked down at the angel and extended his hand. "Name's Ezra." He already fraternized with the enemy, so to say. So he may as well get what he could from the interaction. |
"He told me there were many things down here that could have adverse effects on me, and to keep an eye out." Aviv frowned lightly, one would think if he cared he would have gone into specifics instead of giving a vague answer and sending one of his creations down to earth.
"Why are they like this? They are his favorite, and they have lost that knowledge." Aviv shook his head then looked up at Ezra as he extended his hand. "Aviv." The angel murmured softly, grasping the demon's hand and standing up. "Why did you help me? I know there is no love between our kinds." He murmured softly. |
Aviv. His hands were unusually soft. But strong. He gripped the angel and helped him rise from the ground. "Well, if they were all perfect, then me and you would be out of a job description." Ezra smirked, glancing at Aviv's lips as he spoke. He had a soft voice. Ezra wondered what it sounded like when he was angry or... passionate. Smiling, he shrugged his shoulders. "Couldn't resist helping such a pretty face." Flicking his cigarette to the ground and crushing it beneath his booth. "Besides, some sins are intolerable. What were you doing in there, anyways?" He raised a questioning eyebrow, leaning against the streetlight pole.
Ezra had a temporary safe-house a few blocks from here; he knew he would need to check in before the night was up. He had been on the same "chase" for a good week now. His update reports were almost pointless. But tonight... |
Aviv blushed darkly at the compliment, "I...am supposed to grow new faith." Aviv paused for a moment, "I followed the priest in there, thinking it a good idea to start with someone who was supposed to teach others of the faith he follows. But I am starting to see humans like hiding behind masks, making others see things that are not." The angel shook his head gently and crossed his arms over his chest. "What do you care? I am sure you prefer the humans as they are...they are easier to play with are they not?" He asked and looked up at Ezra. "Well if you will excuse me, I need to find a place to sleep till morning." He tipped his head to Ezra before he turned and looked up and down the street before picking a direction and walking...it happened to be not the right one to even remotely find a motel, or any place really to sleep.
|
"Uhh..." Ezra ran his hand through his hair, watching for a moment as Aviv turned to leave. Stupid angels, they had no sense of direction down here on Earth, let alone the fact they trusted just about anyone who could easily fool them. "Wait. Just hold your horses, angel-cakes..." Ezra walked in front of Aviv, holding out his arm. He subtly realized this wasn't very demon of him, but what the Hell, not like he followed much of anyone's orders down there anywhere. Lifting a finger, he pointed in the direction Aviv was going. "There ain't nothin' down there but a bunch of hoodlums and street rats, ready to con a ... pretty face into God knows what." Smirking, he pushed his sunglasses up his nose. "At least let an honest fellow like myself show you where a decent place to sleep. Don't you guys have safe-houses for your Angel gang, at least?"
|
"Why are you helping me?" Aviv asked and looked up at Ezra. "And what is a safe house?" He asked tilting his head to the side. "I was only told that the humans have places that they pay to sleep and he gave me this." Aviv pulled out a credit card from a pocket on his loose fitting pants. He put it back and smiled up at Ezra, "Will you teach me? How to stay safe here? I was not told much before being sent." Aviv murmured and frowned at that thought, why was he not told more of how to survive down here? he looked back up at Ezra, blue eyes questioning.
|
Ezra stared into the angels eyes, mesmerized for just a moment. Shaking his head and looking past Aviv, he scowled running his hand through his now messy hair. "Doesn't make sense..." He stared back at Aviv, smiling slightly. "Why wouldn't they tell you..." Pausing, a mischievous glint flickered across Ezra's face. "Wait. So, is this your first time down here?" Ezra had spent countless days on the surface of Earth, panning out sentences and soul collections for years. It had just been a while since his last visit, his new duties Below putting him in charge of other miscreants who had to go Above and do the dirty work. This particular job though, was apparently too important for a newer member of the 'team'. He was starting to wonder why.
|
Aviv gave a slight shrug of his shoulders, "It is my first time yes." He said softly before smiling up at Ezra, "Why does it matter if it is my first time down here?" He asked and crossed his arms over his chest and gave a shiver. He was not used to weather, or even cool wind. He wore white, loose fitting garments that would have been better off in summer and not in the current cooler weather. "Perhaps you can lead me somewhere so I may sleep? I am not exactly comfortable out here in the open." he said and pulled his dark hair over his shoulder to tug at it gently.
|
Hm. "Well, I guess I could show you where the nearest motel is, so you can rest up. Maybe take a shower... whatever you angel's do when you're alone." Ezra started walking down the street, wondering Aviv would follow him. There was something so innocent about blind faith, that Ezra almost wished Aviv wouldn't follow him, and had the common sense to never trust a stranger he just met. Or maybe it was rather bold, that someone could put that much faith in another. Stopping and turning around, he slowly started walking backwards, raising an eyebrow at the angel. "Unless you'd like to stay out here, in the cold... Surrounded by sinful humans..." He honestly didn't trust Aviv anymore than the angel trusted him. "Or, perhaps. Are you hungry? I'd die... again.. for some pizza right now."
|
Aviv thought for a moment, till Ezra spoke and asked if he would rather be outside in the cold surrounded with sin. He rapidly shook his head and moved to follow the demon, trying to remain cautious. Once he had caught up with Ezra he gave the demon a smile, "Thank you." He said softly and clasped his hands tightly in front of himself. "I could eat." He said in response to being hungry, his stomach betrayed him though and chose that moment to loudly protest that he was indeed hungry, he had not gotten to finish the food had had ordered in the pub.
|
Ezra chuckled, glancing down at the angels clasped hands. "Weird, how the human Realm makes you hungry? It's a sensation that I'm quite used to, ravenous hunger. One of the more.. charming tortures of our kind." The one and only thing he enjoyed on the surface, besides the obvious lust and greed every demon possessed, was eating good food. Great, even. And he knew exactly where to get a piping hot pizza right now. Heading across the street, Ezra had only mouthwatering thoughts of food, and paid no heed to whether Aviv followed. He was almost carefree enough to forget about the mission, ditch it completely, for a slice of frickin' pizza!
|
Aviv followed after Ezra, he ate yes, but he had never been assaulted by the smells of the human world before. Food in heaven was worth eating, but one did not crave it, not like the humans craved their food. "Where are we going?" He asked once he had caught up to the demon. His eyes took in everything as he followed Ezra, yelping loudly as a car zoomed by.
|
"Romano's. Freshest slice you'll get around this place. At least, as far as I've experienced since I came up to.." Ezra cut off there, not wanting to lead Aviv into thinking he was basically a hired stalker to watch every move Aviv made. Apparently, there was a much bigger picture to the higher ups to what was going on, and they weren't telling him shit. He sighed heavily, and ran his hand roughly through his hair, irritated. Well, the least he could do, is enjoy a good slice of pizza with a very attractive, albeit .. a bit a bit on the innocent side, angel.
|
Aviv looked around as they entered the resturant, he let out an indecent groan at the smells. "It smells so good." He muttered, mouth watering. after a moment his cheeks darkened and he wiped at his mouth with his sleeve and ducked his head, looking embarrassed. blue eyes looked around then looked up for a moment before returning to Ezra. "So this is good?" He asked softly as he looked at the few people in the small pizza joint.
|
Ezra's stare lingered on the desire that reflected in Aviv's blue eyes, the blush that swept across his face. Smirking, he winked at Aviv, and gestured toward a booth in the corner. "It's not just good, it's heavenly." He walked to the booth and sat with his back to the wall, eyes facing the entrance. You could never be too careful. Especially with an Angel in your presence.
Stretching his legs out, he gestured to a frumpy waitress who looked to have worked too many hours that day. His stomach growled with the anticipation of the meal to come. |
