http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps83d4f7bd.jpg Name: Karina Parker Age: 17 Gender: Female Job: Nurse Bio: Karina, not the brightest girl at times but she's always willing to help out in any way she can. The reason she joined the medical field was to do just that, help people. Born into a middle class family, Karina was always pushed to do the best that she could in whatever she did. Her father was the most strict on her, whereas her mother took more pity on her and allowed her to go off and play with her friends. Growing up, she had a couple of friends but she rarely ever got to speak of them due to other things in her life such as studying and helping around the house. Her parents are happy to see how she turned out and like to believe that she'll be married to a nice young man at the age of nineteen, but Karina always tells them that they shouldn't be so hopeful. Personality: Karina prefers to get her work done rather than talk with co-workers. She does like to talk after work though and even likes to spend time with her friends once they're out of work and can actually get together with her. Karina is never rude, she always treats everybody with respect unless the person gives her a reason not to. She is not a fan of events such as parties, mostly because she usually doesn't recognize anyone at these said parties. |

"Oh dear, I'm late! Oh dear, I'm late! Oh dear, I'm late!" Karina gasped as she noticed the time. 9:00, she was supposed to be at work at 7:30. "If they don't fire me it will be a miracle I'm sure." she said to herself and left to bathe, then got dressed quickly and brushed her hair before putting on her nurse cap and heading out the door once she was ready. The hospital wasn't too far so she didn't mind walking there. This time she was running though, running as fast as her legs allowed her to and picked up her skirt in the process so that it wouldn't get dirty by the time she got there. When she did get there though, Karina frowned slightly and smoothed out her dress, straightened her cap and fixed her hair before walking inside. Karina let out a deep breath she didn't know she was holding and clocked in at the front desk. "You're late." said the head nurse. "Y-yes I know I am and I apologize...b-but this has been my first time being late so I can't possibly be in trouble can I?" Karina asked.
"Well I'm not really the one you work with is it now?" said the head nurse before smiling. "You'll have to ask your work partner for forgiveness." The head nurse started before clocking someone else in. "Just don't let it happen again Miss Parker." the head nurse warned. "Yes Ma'am, it won't happen again. Thank-you." Karina assured and smiled even though she still had to explain herself to someone else. |
Akira adjusted his glasses a bit. The early morning light seeming brighter to his sensitive eyes than normal. Few knew of the secrets that laid behind them, and that was the way he liked to keep it. He was on a mission for now, working with some sort of makeshift hospital. He was here because of his mind, which was not unusual. He was used to being sought after for his brain, for his skills. So that was fine with him. His eyes flickered to the clock, it seemed that the woman who was supposed to be assisting him was late once more. He sighed a bit, shaking his head. He rested his head on his hand, turning his eyes back to the book in his hand. Where could she be? He was reading up on something that seemed to be troubling him.
More people were seeming to be randomly injuring themselves, even people who did not seem to be the type to do so. So what was causing them to suddely up and become suicidle? He frowned, his eyes scanning over the cases. He tossed the book on the desk, before turning his attention to his own journal. Might as well get some work in, before the other work began. He began writing down, his hand moving fluently across the page. He had ellegant writing, something that seemed to appease the females here. Why that was, he did not know. It was a simple trait, but he guessed that it could give hint to something more elegant and classy within him? Whatever their reasoning, it was no concern to him. He finished up his work, awaiting the arrival of the female so they could get to it. |
Frowning worriedly, Karina walked through the door that lead to the employee room and that's where she saw him. He had obviously been waiting for her and he didn't look too happy to have been kept waiting. "I apologize for being late." she started and frowned. Karina was actually scared right now, scared of what he would say to her for being late. "It's just...my alarm didn't go off. I guess I never set my alarm like I thought I did. I-I promise it won't happen again though..." she explained and hated the silence filling the room whenever she finished speaking. "I'm sure you probably hear that a lot and probably don't believe me, and I completely understand." she added softly and looked down at her feet as she waited for his response. She was pretty sure he'd fire her or choose to work with someone else, both of which would make her feel even worse than she already did right now.
I'm so stupid, I should have checked and made sure my alarm was set before going to bed. If I'm not fired now it would be a miracle, but if I am I'll have to come up with a good explanation for mom and dad. she thought to herself and shook her head as if trying to shake away all negative thoughts from her head, which usually seemed to work just fine. Right now, however, it wasn't working too well. Looking back towards him, she noticed he had a book out and a journal. He was probably reading up on a subject of interest to him The journal...well he probably was writing notes down. He was probably trying to learn as much as he could. |
For a moment, Akira did not hear the woman even enter. Once he got working on something, it was not completely insane for him to block out a lot of what lse was going on around him. When he did note her words, a few blinks in succession was the first responce. He turned his eyes to her, reaching up to adjust his glasses a bit once more, as she explained and continued to talk. As silence finally spread between them, he let it for a moment, saying nothing to her. She was afraid, he could clearly feel it and see it coming off of her. He did not even have to use his abilities to figure that out. He chuckled a bit, before standing up from his seat. He moved over to her, taking her hand within his. "A pleasure" he said, gently kissing her hand, a smile forming upon his face.
"Do not worry about it, you have not missed much" he waved off the event, simple as that. Making his way back to the table, he gently closed the book and the journal to which he had been working on. "Well then, shall we get started?" he asked, his eyes moving back to her. He figured it would become somewhat of a surprise to her, his words in responce to her actions. That was fine, he had made up his mind already. He was not going to fire her. He was not totally happy with being kept waiting or having to sit around like this, but it was not like he had never had to be patient before. It was an accident, he could understand that. So for now, he would let her slide. He kept the smile upon his face, his facade hard to read indeed. He did not look angry in any way, but there was something about him one would not quite be able to read. It was time to get going, so they should get to it. |
He cannot be serious, he honestly cannot be serious. Karina thought to herself as she heard his response. No...there has to be something more. Why isn't he yelling at me?! she thought as she stared at the smile on his face. Was it fake or forced? It sure didn't seem like it. The smile looked genuine and he really didn't look upset at all by the fact that she was late. Any other doctor would have fired her on the spot, and yet...he didn't. Why not? she thought and offered a small smile back at him. Still, Karina was very confused but figured that if he wasn't upset then she wasn't going to question it at all. Last thing she wanted to do was have him change his mind. The pleasure is all mine. was what she wanted to say but for some reason she couldn't get herself to say them. Nodding then at what he said, Karina smiled a genuine smile of her own. "Yes, yes we shall." she replied and wondered what patients they would tend to today.
Usually the patients were really kind, but there were times when the patients could get rather rude. It was on those days that Karina had to really test her patience level. Her partner here, he obviously was a very patient man. He was always a mysterious person, Karina never knew what he was thinking. She never knew when he was angry, happy, sad, bored...nothing. His expression never showed emotions which was odd in itself. It could be a defense mechanism... she thought to herself. That seemed like the only real possible answer to her anyway. Why would he hide his emotions though? Was he afraid of being vulnerable or judged? She wasn't sure but what she was sure about was that he obviously had his reasons as to why he was the way that he was. |
