As Daylen played the song, he spoke softly to Contessa. "When I was a teenager, I had a crush on my teacher's daughter." He smiled softly at her memory. "She was my first love. I honestly thought her and I would be getting married." He said sadly. "We were secretly dating for years. However it was one sided. Being disfigured and horribly scarred, I guess I was an easy target. She was dating my brother as well." He slowly stopped playing. Staring at the keys as he continued. "She wanted one of us to marry, only wanted the title and wealth we could provide." Daylen looked at Contessa sadly, she was the reason why he could play that song so well. He still hurt from her betrayal when he played it.

Contessa frowned as she listened to his story and shook her head. "I'm sorry Daylen. She shouldn't have played with your emotions like that. She had no right to hurt you like that!" she said, upset that someone would play with Daylen's heart. He was in his most fragile state and that girl took advantage of that. Instead of comforting him she only added salt to the wound. Why was she also dating Sirus? "Did Sirus know all this?" she asked softly. She was curious to know this, because if Sirus knew, then why was he letting her do what she did?

Daylen just listened to her and weakly smiled. "No, he found out the same way I did." He looked back at the keys in front of him. "Only reason we found out was because she snuck off with Sirus at a party. I accidently entered the room why they were..." He trailed off softly. He was sure Contessa could tell what he had walked into without him saying. "She begged and pleaded to both of us but we didn't want anything to do with her after that. She hurt Sirus just as bad as me. Sometimes I think she hurt him worse. Their relationship was deeper than ours. He hasn't had a serious relationship after that." Granted neither did Daylen, he never dated anyone after her actually. At least Sirus took women home from time to time, for simple tumbles in the sheets but still took them home.

Contessa gasped when he told her this and frowned, "Daylen I am so sorry. Neither of you should have gone through that." she said softly and wondered if he was going to cry, he looked so hurt talking about it. She hoped he didn't cry, but if he did she was going to do her best to comfort him. "You both did the right thing not giving her another chance, I can't believe she even begged for a second chance." she said and crossed her arms across her chest as she sat on the couch and watched Daylen carefully, trying to figure out just how hurt he was right now. Daylen had gone through so much more than she thought, he deserved to be happy...not toyed with. "You both deserve to be happy. You both deserve a lot better than that girl." she said honestly.

Daylen just softly smiled. "It was years ago, you learn as you go." He simply told Contessa. He slowly pressed the keys on the piano. It was a slower song but just as sad as Don't love. "Shortly after leaving her, I finished my tonics. I got my body back to normal, lost the scars and got my sight in my eye back. So in a way... she helped drive me into my studies." His smile never left his face as he played the piano. He just wanted to share with her. He hoped that this memory of his wouldn't make her look at him differently. He was glad he was no longered scarred and deformed. However he couldn't help but wonder if Contessa would be okay with him if he was. She didn't seem like the type that would care if he was but deep down he couldn't help but think it.

Contessa offered a comforting smile as she stood and walked over to him. "I'm just glad you're okay Daylen." she said knelt down to give him a quick huh since she assumed he wasn't much of a hugger. She stood back up and listened to him play some more, she was just happy to see him happy after all that. Sirus looked extremely happy though, she would have never thought that he had his heart crushed like he did. Daylen didn't look sad, just serious all the time so it was hard to tell at times what he was feeling. As long as you're happy Daylen, I'm happy too. she thought to herself with a smile."So in a cruel way, she helped you be who you are now. I still don't like her because, she hurt you and Sirus." Contessa commented.

Daylen was surprised when Contessa give him a small hug. He had stopped playing when she had. He looked at her confused. He just nodded softly to her words before continuing the song. He wasn't sure what to say now, she had hugged him. He didn't mind hugs, he actually enjoyed it but he was confused to as why she had. He could understand anything mathematical or scientific but simplest of emotions or people, he could not. She was not a calculation, she was not engineered. Daylen blushed slightly from her contact. He stopped playing. "I'm sorry Miss Contessa. I'm not good with people or emotions. I don't understand the hug." He simply told her the truth, it had confused him.

"My apologies. I will refrain from doing it again." she said quietly and frowned when he stopped playing the music. "I'm sorry for interrupting you while you were playing. Please, don't let me stop you from doing what you like Daylen." Contessa commented and tossed some hair away from her face then began to smooth out her dress carefully. She felt stupid now, he probably thought she was weird now for doing what she did. Her eyes fell on the papers he had handed her and she slowly started to scan through them, the aching feeling on her eye seemed to have vanished which was good.

Daylen just stopped playing once more and looked at her. "No, it's okay. I think should rephrase my words." He looked back at the keys as he thought for a second. "I been alone for a long time. Even when I was dating, I never had physical contact with her or anyone. I don't grasp emotions or small things like hugs. I don't understand them. I know they're simple acts of expressing feelings but that's it." He said shyly, he wasn't sure how else he could say it. He wasn't smart when it came that topic. He hoped she didn't find him stupid for not understanding.

"So...you've never been hugged before?" she asked slightly confused. She got hugs all the time, especially from her dad. Daylen didn't have a dad though, but surely Sirus and Rosa hugged him from time to time right? Or perhaps he never allowed people to hug him? She knew a few people that didn't like being hugged, maybe he was one of them? There was nothing wrong with that of course. "Well I don't like making you uncomfortable Daylen so if hugging makes you uncomfortable, then I won't do it." she replied softly.

Daylen just lightly shook his head. "Not since my father died." He said softly. Sirus touched his shoulder to transport him places or to lean on him, but he never hugged him. His mother never touched him after he had killed their father. Perhaps out of fear or she blamed him for their father's death. Maybe they just got into the habit of not touching him, after all, he did set everything on fire at one point of his life. "I liked it." He simply told her, he didn't understand it but he did like the hug. Maybe he was weird, it was a simple expression of emotion but it made him feel normal in a small way.

Contessa frowned, so his father hugged him? But when his father died no one else did? Why not? Daylen needed hugs a lot more when his father passed, why weren't they hugging him? Fear maybe? That made sense then, but not now. Daylen could control himself, they didn't need to be scared of him. She wasn't so scared anymore, and when she was it was only because he looked scary when he was mad. She wasn't scared of him due to his powers. "You liked it?" she repeated and smiled softly. "I didn't know if you would or not. I know that there are some people who hate being hugged, and I understand. If you like hugs, I'll hug you then. I won't hug you too much though since I don't want you to get annoyed of them." she explained quietly and wondered if she was making any sense.

Daylen just listen to her. She didn't have to hug him if she didn't want to. He liked it but that didn't mean she needed to force herself to hug him. "It's alright, you don't have to if you don't want to." He said softly. He looked at the keys. He just placed the cover over them. He loved playing but he was sure she would want to do something other then just listen to him play all day. "So, what would you like to do?" He asked her trying to change the subject. He figured that had had saddened her enough with his first love story. He wanted to lighten the mood for her. Daylen just looked at her curiously as to what she would say.

"I like hugging people though." she said quietly and blushed softly. So he liked the hug, she'd hug him again in due time she knew it. When he covered the keys again she let out a happy sigh, she absolutely loved music and she hoped to listen to him play again. "Well I kinda wanted to surprise you with something but I'm not sure if you have all the ingredients. Also, I think we should talk about this wedding of ours, I think we're missing something." she started and looked at him. "I have the dress, flowers and food. You need your suit I'm guessing....and what else are we missing?" she said tapping her head with her metal finger as she tried to remember. "Oh! I remembered now! Music, I think we need to talk over the music portion of the wedding planning. Also invitations....are we sending out invitations?" she asked.

Daylen just looked at Contessa and smiled softly. "Well judging by the word ingredients, you mean food wise, correct? If that's the case. My pantry and refrigerator is always stocked." He said softly. He didn't eat much but he always made sure the food was still good and constantly stocked. Sirus was however a huge eater. He always ate when he came to visit or work. "If not, tell me what you need. I'm sure I have it somewhere around the manor." He had practically everything around here, even an indoor and outdoor pool. However he never used them.

Daylen just listen to Contessa talk about the wedding. She had done allot yesterday. Daylen already had a suit. He had countless ones in his walk in closet. He never wore them so they were basically new, they still fit him. That he knew for sure. He just watched her think to herself before blurting out that they need to pick the music. "We can send out invitations if you want, however it will be pointless to send them to my family. They already said that they won't come." He was actually glad about that. He just knew they would try something. They were always hateful and mean to him for killing their father. His father was the morcharch of the di Pavia family, so his death was basically the falling point for allot of them. "As for music, we're in the music room. There are albums all over the shelves and a old phonograph in the corner." He looked around the room. There were allot of albums to sort through. "Or would you prefer live music? Not from me of course." He asked her curiously when he returned his attention her.

Contessa nodded, "You are correct." she said to Daylen with a smile. Her plan was to make him some cupcakes, but perhaps it was best to make them at her house? She didn't want to leave a mess behind here. Contessa chuckled, "If I tell you what I need, then it won't be a surprise anymore." she pointed out and chuckled. She wasn't about to give Daylen any hints. "Yes, you're mother did say that they weren't going to show up, which I think is quite rude. I understand they don't like me, but they should at least be here for you." she explained and frowned slightly.

"I'm sure everyone would love to hear you play sometime Daylen. We won't do live music, mostly because I don't know any good groups that could come to play and it would probably be way too loud." Contessa replied and covered her ears a bit. "Albums will be perfect. Now we just have to find something we both like." she said with smile as she started to look through the albums carefully.

He wondered what she was planning, she seemed like she wanted to surprise him. He wouldn't press the matter. Instead Daylen would just let her have her fun, though he was curious. However his thoughts were interrupted by Contessa's following words. Daylen just shook his head lightly. "No. Not fully because of you and your family. They won't show because of me as well." He softly told her. "They hated me since the day my father died. He was the monarch of the family I guess you can say. They blame me for his death, and it's true. It was an accident but I killed him." He told her rather bluntly. "My mother and Sirus refuse to believe it, that the family disowned me. They disowned them for standing by me. Even disowned blood, they won't kill or anyone married into the family." He told her softly. In a way he was trying to make her feel better knowing that his family didn't just hate her, but him as well.

Daylen just stood up and went to a shelf. He took out a album and showed it to Contessa. It was very old and only had one song on it. "What should I do?" He said softly smiling. It was a song from overseas. A lot of the songs he love where all from a small country. "Well technically, oto ka jo?" He told her smiling sweetly. It was another sad song but it she might like it. "Its another sad song but its good." He told her shyly.

"It was an accident though, accidents happen all the time." Contessa said and smiled softly. "I don't hate you for that accident at all. I'm sure that they'll all move on at some point of their lives and probably forgive you. I'm sure your mother and Sirus forgive you." she added as she looked through the many different albums. This was going to take a very long time to go through. She hoped that his family could just learn to forgive and forget, they couldn't continue to live their life like this, it really wasn't fair to Daylen. "Oto ka jo.." she repeated and smiled, it sounded odd when she said it. "Sad song? I'm sure it's lovely. I'm sure I'll be doing a lot of crying." she said and blushed softly. She didn't want to look like a huge baby but a wedding was en emotional thing, and adding sad music only added to it. "So we have that one, what else would you like to hear?" she asked him kindly.

Daylen didn't mind being kicked out of his family. They were horrible people. "Sa rang he yo." He simply told her, "The song says it repeatedly. Means I love you." He was trying to change the subject, he would hope it would work. "The man is breaking, the love of his life is leaving. He wants her to stay, he loves her more then anything. The only time he can say it is in his heart. It never says if she eventually understands and stays with him." He told her the basics of the song. It was a beautiful song. Sad, but beautiful. He looked around the room. "We don't have to have that one, it is in a different language." He motion to a side of the room. "These are all the ones in English." He walked over to the albums. He just started to flip through the ones. He really hoped it worked.

Listening to what the song was basically about, she grinned. "It sounds like a very beautiful song. If you like it a lot Daylen, we will be listening to it." Contessa said softly and followed him to the other side of the room where all the English songs were located. Quietly, she started to look through the albums he had in there. He had quite a large collection of music and she wondered if he was still getting new albums as they were released. "All of these are your favorite?" she asked him curiously.

Daylen just looked at Contessa. "No, my father collected albums. This was actually his favorite room. That was his violin and piano. I use to listen to him play all the time. I would help him out while he worked as well." He smiled softly. He use to be where Contessa was when he was younger. He would just listen and watch him. Sometimes he got to help with grinding or pressing a key on the piano from time to time. "I guess it's a small part of me that wants to keep him alive with music, alchemy and engineering." He laughed softly. "Sirus adopted his pranks and charisma." They both had took after him in looks. He nodded to a portrait over the fireplace. It was of a man identical to Sirus and Daylen but with nicely groomed, short hair. Two little boys were with him, both were smiling and very happy as was the man.

"Ohh.." Contessa started as she listened to him speak. "Well it's very nice of you to do this Daylen. I'm sure he is very proud of the man you have become." she said warmly and looked over at the large portrait. Why hadn't she noticed it before? "You all look so alike!" she gasped as she walked over to the portrait and smiled. The boys looked so adorable, it was a shame that Daylen didn't smile that way anymore and Sirus still did despite all he went through. Tearing her gaze away from the portrait, she focused her attention back to Daylen and walked back over to where he stood and looked through the various album. Perhaps he really didn't ant to talk about his father right now, and she surely didn't want to upset him in any way.

Daylen just smiled as he pulled out an album. He would agree with her, it was actually kind of weird how all three of them looked alike. As for being proud of the man he was now. He wasn't so sure. His father was social like Sirus, why he was distant. He went to the old phonograph. He placed the album on it and set everything up. The room started to fill with static as he set down the needle before the instrumental melody started to fill the air. He wasn't sure if he should ask but there was only one way to find out. "Do you know how to dance?" He asked softly. He just wanted to know. Most likely they would have to dance as husband and wife on the wedding day.

Contessa listened as new music filled the room. She set down the papers in her hands and looked at Daylen. "Well, sort of. I'm not the best dancer but I do enjoy dancing at parties." she answered. She wasn't sure why he was asking but then it hit her tight in the head. Wedding Dance!she thought to herself, suddenly feeling very nervous. She was used to dancing in front of many people, but this was going to be very different because all eyes would be on them. She knew she'd be fine though, as long as she didn't mess up which she didn't think could happen.

Daylen softly smiled, her face didn't seem like she was so sure of her own words. "Do you know how to dance with a partner?" He asked curiously. He was very rusty when it came to dancing with someone. Sirus use to make Daylen practice with him when they were very little. He never danced since, he hoped he didn't have to dance though. He hated people staring at him. It made him feel as he was scarred and crippled again. He wasn't looking to the vows for that reason, though he was kind of excited to get married, even if it was arranged.
