Sirus just bounced over to Daylen's grimoire. "I haven't seen this thing in years." He looked over at Contessa. "This grimoire has been in our family for generations. See these seven crystals, each one represents a former owner. When member of great power is born a new crystal appears on it. The crystals only light up if the new owner's blood touches the center one. The book stays dormant until a sorcerer strong enough to control its power is born, all the pages stay blank and that's if you can even open it." He touched the center one and smiled. "This crystal was the very first sorcerer in our family." Daylen just folded his arms over his chest, his brother did love sharing their family history with contessa. "Every time a new owner's blood touches the crystals they glow the same elemental color of power they have. Daylen being fire, the crystals glow a bright flame color." He said looking down and tracing the crystal. Daylen didn't even get a chance to reply to Contessa before Sirus started the history lesson of the grimoire.
Contessa watched as Sirus walked over to the grimoire and smiled when he gave her a history lesson on it. "I see, that's very interesting. What happens when you touch the crystals Sirus, surely you have an elemental power too don't you?" she asked curiously. It was really hot in this room, and she wondered how long it would be like this. Oh Daylen, if only I knew how to cheer you up. she thought to herself but remained where she stood, not sure what to do at the moment. Glancing over at Daylen, his expression looked as unreadable as ever but the heat and what Sirus had told her before they arrived here gave away his emotions better than Daylen himself could do.
Sirus just playfully shook his head. "Nothing happens. I'm not that powerful of a sorcerer. My magic is over summoning objects from my imagination, shadows and blinking; transporting. My shadows only allow me to transport through them and hide, even in the tiniest of shadows." He smiled happily. "I'm lucky, poor Daylen is the only with all the responsibilities of having to keep up the family name. Even our other blood relatives have to rely on him to keep the title of the strongest of magic users." He laughed at that thought. "They hate it, it's quite hilarious. Serves them right for everything they did to him. Karma at her strongest." Daylen just watched his brother. "I'm not a powerful sorcerer, if I was, I could successfully craft the Mutatio potion." Sirus' eyes widen and he turned to Daylen, he was speechless. He didn't what to address first, the power comment or the potion. It took him a bit before he could speak, Sirus just turned to Contessa and pointed at his brother. "He does this all the time." He then turned back to his twin. "Mutatio potion!" It just hit him what it was. "Are you crazy? What, it, why..." He couldn't even address the subject clearly. "Miss Contessa you yell at him, I can't think right now." Sirus just his hands in the air at his brother words.
"It must be very stressful, very unfair really." Contessa started and chuckled softly. It must be really nice to be able to hide in even the smallest of shadows. This meant that he could really be anywhere, watching. That thought unnerved her but he knew he would never do such a thing, even if he was a perv. "I agree, this is Karma. They deserve it really, for all the things they said and did." Contessa said, frowning as she remembered the little paragraph left for her to read by Sirus. She was about to say something to Daylen but didn't get to because of Sirus' reaction. She wasn't sure what the Mutatio potion did, but it was obviously very difficult to make. "Me? Yell at him?" she repeated and looked from Sirus to Daylen. "I don't even know what this potion does. I can't yell at him for that. But I can yell at him for doubting himself."she said and smiled. "I'm not going to yell at you though Daylen. You are your own person and are free to do as you wish." she explained softly.
Sirus just shook his head at Contessa. He would have to teach her that she was going to be Daylen's wife and keep him in line. "The Mutatio potion is extremely powerful. It changes the drinker's race. Can turn a fairy into a werewolf, to anything. As long as the blood of the intended race is stronger than the drinker's." Daylen explained. "Only Hialus, our beginning line was able to craft such power potion." Daylen said sadly. "So that is why you need my blood." A soft voice came from the doorway. Both Daylen and Sirus looked to see a very pale woman. Her hair was long and flowing, it was the color of the petals from the reddish of roses. "Miss Claire?" Sirus said softly, his face flushes with a slight blush as her piercing lavender eyes landed on him. She smiled softly at him. "My dear Sirus, I'm sorry to hear the unfortunate news." She just walked over to Daylen. She placed her left wrist to her lips before piercing it with her fangs. She placed her bleeding wrist over an empty bowl, filling it with her vampiric blood. "I hope you succeed dear Daylen." She told him before her eyes fell on Contessa. Her wrist healed nearly instantly as he lowered it. "You must be Miss D'Veen. My have many tongues wag about you." She smiled at her sweetly. "Trust you'll be good to my dearest love." Daylen just sighed lightly. "Please stop calling me that." She just giggled at the sorceror. She loved his reaction to that nickname.
"Why would Daylen want to make that?" Contessa asked Sirus honestly. What did Daylen want to change into? Her question could not be answered because of the voice that was heard. She looked over to where both twins were looking to see a woman standing there. She didn't know who she was until Sirus spoke. So this was Miss Claire? A smile appeared on her face when she saw Sirus blushing, it really was cute. Contessa winced slightly when miss claire bit her own wrist, the smell of blood made Contessa slightly dizzy and nauseous but she remained still, listening to miss claire. Oh I'm sure they have, but I'd rather not know what has been said. It doesn't concern me, I'm more concerned with my favorite twins right now to care what has been said about me. Contessa thought to herself as she offered a smile to miss Claire. "I'm doing my best every day to be." she replied honestly.
The vampire smiled at Contessa's words. "Good. He is such a sweetheart. He needs a good woman's love." She patty Contessa lightly on the shoulder. "I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. My little changeling Saria and I love these boys." She smiled lovingly. "However as of right now I have things to attend to. Thanks again for the tonics my dearest love. Farewell for now." She spoke softly and motioned a farewell to them before leaving. Daylen just sighed again, he really didn't like being called that.
As soon as she left Sirus turned to Daylen. "Are you serious? Claire's blood!" He couldn't believe his brother would ask for such a thing, or that she would give it so willingly. "Miss Claire has been alive longer then our bloodline. If any blood will work, her's will." Daylen simply replied. Sirus just sighed in defeat, his brother was willing to go through so much to save him. "Daylen, the power needed for that spell to successfully craft that potion with such strong blood that will drain all of you to the point you might die with me." Sirus just looked at his twin. Daylen's face never changing in emotions. "You think I'm such a powerful sorcerer, than lets see how powerful I really am." With that being said. He picked up the bowl of Claire's blood and his grimoire before leaving the room. Sirus just quickly followed his brother to the ballroom. It was filled with the ingredients and chalk markings on the floor. Clearly his brother was using all his resources to try and successfully craft the potion. |
Contessa shivered slightly and listened to Sirus speak. Daylen really wanted to save his only brother, and Contessa wished he could but Sirus had said visions could not be changed. This is really sweet, I know Daylen means well, he's going to be a wreck when Sirus dies. I think we all will be actually. Contessa thought to herself and frowned. Quickly, she ran after them over to the ballroom which was set up to look like some creepy ritual was going to take place. "Oh my goodness..." she breathed as she looked around the room and at the markings on the floor. Despite knowing that the outcome wouldn't change, Contessa had faith in him. She knew he would be successful in something, perhaps he would be able to make the potion, but would it really work on Sirus? If it was a very powerful potion then perhaps it would save him, or perhaps something bad would happen.
Sirus just watched as his set his grimoire down on a small table. His cauldron in the center of the circle, with the book opened to the page needed. Daylen began to add the ingredients into the boiling cauldron. He chanted in the ancient language that the grimoire was written in as he did. Without any hesitation Daylen pour Claire's blood into the cauldron, the bowl shattered in Daylen's hands as he continued chanting. The shards flew to a point on each side of the pentagram drawn on the floor, floating with the crystals representing the basic elements. The chalked lines began to grow to Daylen's chant. The liquid inside the cauldron started to glow in a blinding light. As before embodied whispers began chanting with him, the floor began to rumbled beneath their feet. Sirus just watched in awe as his twin's eyes glow the same as the mixture in the cauldron. Sirus was forced to look away when streaks of pure energy as bright as flames and the crystals on the grimoire shot from Daylen. The liquid was pulling the energy into the cauldron. A bright blindly flashed silence the room and soothed the rumbling.
When Sirus was able to looked back to his brother, Daylen was on his knees and hands, breathing heavy. It drained allot of his energy but the liquid in the cauldron was glowing slightly, you could see his energy slithering around in the calm liquid. Daylen lightly chuckled as he hear Sirus in awe. "It, it worked." Sirus spoke out softly. He knew Daylen was powerful but this was incredible. He could help by stand in awe at what he and Contessa witnessed. |
Contessa watched in silence as Daylen worked. All this, just to try to save his brother. To save the brother that pranked him at every chance he got, Daylen obviously loved his brother even though he never really showed it. Her fingers continued running through her pet's fur while she watched Daylen work. It was an interesting process to watch, and when the blinding light showed up Contessa looked away and held her pet close to her chest. Once the light was gone, silence filled the room and Contessa hesitantly looked back at Sirus then at Daylen. He looked exhausted but she grinned hearing that he had managed to make the potion. "I knew you could do it Daylen." she commented softly and let out a relieved sigh that she didn't know she was holding in.
"What happens now?" she asked quietly. So the potion was made, what happened after that step? Did they have to wait a bit before anything happened? All she knew right now was that Daylen needed to rest and probably drink lots of water and eat something to regain the strength he lost in making this potion. |
Daylen just shifted into a sitting position. His breathing still heavy as Sirus just walked up to him. "You're the first to successfully create that potion in over nineteen hundreds years and you doubt yourself at every turn?" Sirus just chuckled at his twin, only to slightly panic when Daylen passed out from the lack of energy. "Oh thank God." Sirus let out a sigh of relief. "He is just sleeping." He looked at Contessa and smiled. "I'll be right back." He just blinked away with Daylen, only to reappear a few minutes later. "Daylen is in his bed if you want to care for him, I can clean up his mess and place the potion in his study." He told her sweetly. He was still in awe everytime he saw that slithering liquid in the cauldron. "Still can't believe it. He did what everyone thought impossible, and all just to save me." He playfully smiled. "I guess Mr. Grumpy is really just a softy." He told her before he began to gather the crystals and set them in the wooden box Daylen always kept them in.
"Oh Sirus, he's your brother. Of course he's going to do all he can to save you, I know I would too if you were my brother." Contessa started and chuckled. "He looks grumpy all the time, but he has his soft moments. I still can't believe he doubts himself all the time. He's done so many great things that many people can't do, and yet he doesn't think he's good enough. I don't like that, but I guess I understand that he'll always think that way because of events that happened in his life." Contessa explained and looked at the chalk markings on the floor. "Sirus can I ask you something?" she asked him and looked over at him. "Do you think that the making of the potion can actually change the vision?" she asked softly. Did Sirus even want the vision to be changed? Surely he wanted to be around to play with her children whenever she had them right?
Sirus just nodded slightly, he could see that. He would do everything to save Daylen or anyone of his family. Heck he would do his best even for a stranger. He just playfully smirked at Contessa. "If I was your brother? I thought I already was." He said sticking his tongue out at her. He placed the lid on the wooden box before cleaning up the shards from the bowl with a broom he conjured. "Honestly? No and neither does Daylen." He told her sadly. He stopped and rested his hands on the top of the broom handle. "He went after vampire's blood because of that reason. To become a vampire you have to die. Even if I drink the potion now, I'll die." He paused for a little. "I just won't stay dead. I'll lose everything that makes me a sorceror, my powers will be replaced with vampiric abilities. I'll never see the sun rise or set again. But I will have eternal youth and be with my family." He just looked at Contessa with sad eyes. "I would have to watch everyone I love die from old age, only way to turn another magical being is with that potion right there." He began to sweep up the rest of the shards before conjuring a dust pan.
Contessa smiled softly and hugged Sirus quickly. "Of course you are! You're the best brother anyone could ever have!" she assured and listened to Sirus' answer to her question. So he was still going to die, but there was a possibility he'd come back as a vampire which would be great. Sirus didn't seem too happy about that though. But then, who would be right? No one would love to live eternally and watch their loved ones die. Turning everyone else would be impossible...so in the end it was probably better for Sirus to die, he would still be with them in spirit and that though was a little reassuring. "It's not fair..." she whispered and frowned. It really wasn't, but life was never fair and she had to live with that. Her little pet nibbled on her finger,he was obviously thirsty so she'd go feed him later.
Sirus just mopped up the rest of the floor to remove the chalk lines from the marble. "Truth be told, I'm scared of dying." He told her as he cleaned. "However there is no point in hiding or crying over it. When it's your time, you are going to die. There is just no stopping it." He made the mop disappear. He gathered and the boxes, stacked them neatly before blinking them to Daylen's study. "Don't get me wrong. I am greatly impressed and glad with everything Daylen has done to save me. I just don't know if I'm willing to pay that price over saving a few years of heartache." He chuckled lightly. "I would love to see the next future Sirus however. I could teach him so much." He could imagine Daylen's face with two of him, it would be rather hilarious to him. He smiled his goofy smile as he looked at Contessa. "You think I drive him nuts now. Imagine a little version of me as a sidekick." He laughed at the thought. He just took the cauldron's handle in one hand and the grimoire in the other. Sirus just left the ballroom after it was all cleaned up and headed to Daylen's study.
"I think we all are." Contessa whispered and smiled warmly. She could imagine both Sirus' running around and pranking Daylen. It was something she wished she could see but knew she wouldn't. Fate could not be changed, no matter how much anyone tried. "I'm sure little Sirus will be just like you Sirus, it will be like an instinct of his to prank Daylen at every chance he got." Contessa replied and quickly wiped her tears. Talking about it made her extremely emotional, she could only guess how bad of a wreck she would be when it actually happened. "Oh dear..." she said to herself and shook her head as she left to the kitchen and poured some milk into a bowl, warming it up before heading up to Daylen's room. Contessa carefully knocked on the door and opened it as she walked inside and closed it behind her.
Sirus just set the grimoire back into the vault before closing the doors to lock it away. He then set the cauldron on the desk, filling the bottle with the potion. He just watched it slither around in the glass. It was neat how Claire's blood and the energy formed into a light that needed to be drunk in order to change a entire being to another race. Sadly however, it only made one bottle. Sirus just ruffled through the bottles of liquids in the cabinet before pulling out a small bottle with white liquid. "There you are." He said playfully to the bottle before blinking to Daylen's room.
He stopped seeing Contessa in the room. He then smiled and walked over to Daylen. "I have some something that will help him." Sirus told her before setting the Mutatio potion on Daylen's nightstand. He uncorked the bottle with the white liquid. Quickly he poured it all in Daylen's mouth and cover it. He toss the bottle onto the bed and pinched Daylen's nose forcing him to swallow it for air. Daylen jolted awake as it happened. Sirus just burst into laughter letting go of his brother. Daylen just coughed at the disgusting liquid he was forced to drink. "Sirus!" Daylen manage to hiss through his coughing. He could feel his energy recovering quickly thanks to the stuff Sirus had given him. He sat up and glared at his twin, why was he trying to save him again. |
Contessa looked at Daylen who lay in his bed and took this opportunity to admire how peaceful he looked just sleeping there. Her attention was shifted to Sirus when he arrived. "Oh, well that's great." she said happily and started feeding the warm milk to her little pet through the eye dropper. She watched as Sirus poured some white liquid that looked like milk into Daylen's mouth and chuckled softly when Daylen woke up and Sirus started to laugh. It always made her happy to see them interact this way, even if Daylen didn't like it very much. Carefully, she pat his back as he coughed and shook her head. "Are you feeling better Daylen?" she asked curiously and laughed softly, Sirus' laugh was pretty contagious.
Daylen just nodded to Contessa's words after noticing she was patting his back. "I'm fine, just weak." He replied softly to her. His voice was softer than normal due to being tired of the lack of energy. Sirus just chuckled as Daylen glared at him. "Needed you awake and energized. Saria has a surprise for you two. She made the Cathedral beautiful for the wedding and she wants me to take you there so you can see it." Sirus replied happily to his glaring brother. "It's not a surprise if you tell us." Daylen told Sirus plainly, he could still tasted the milk root. He hated that stuff, tasted like mold. Sirus just smiled, he was right but he never said how she decorated it so it still counted in his book. "We'll go after Contessa feeds her pet." Sirus told Daylen cheerfully.
"I'm glad you're okay." Contessa answered and resumed feeding her pet the warm milk. "I thought we would go once Daylen felt better. But if you two want to go now, we can." she explained as she silently fed the warm milk to her pet who had his yellow eyes closed, happy to be drinking some warm milk. She was excited to see how he would grow, perhaps no name would become his name now that she had gotten so used to saying it. Although Bruce was a name that came to her mind at times too. Names didn't matter, she loved him no matter what his name was and would help him grow big and strong over the years. When she had finished, Contessa smiled and placed a little kiss on the top of his head and looked at the twins. "We can go now if you wish." she said easily.
Daylen just nodded to Contessa. He was still weak but he could handle a small walk around the family's cathedral. He stood up and grabbed the potion from the nightstand. He wasn't going to go anywhere without it. He remembered seeing himself crying over his brother in the vision, he would always be ready for it. Sirus just frowned slightly at seeing his brother grab the potion but he instantly replaced it with a smiled. "Here we go." He said placing his hands on their shoulders. He just blinked them into the middle of the cathedral. However before Daylen could look around. Sirus hid behind Contessa, snickering as the old Father Sullivan took Daylen away. "Ah, boy. It's good to see you. Come walk with me for I have allot to tell you about the birds and the bees." Daylen just looked over his shoulder darkly at his twin as the old man took him out of the cathedral. It was a set up, once again Sirus had got him.
Sirus just walked up to the altar of the church. "See, I told you Saria made it beautiful." He smiled sweetly to the soon to be bride. The bouquets had splashes of champagne pink to enhance Contessa's dress. White cloth form arches and bows along the aisle, a long red carpet was added to the church for Contessa to walk down. "I'm a little jealous to tell you the truth." He said softly, today he wasn't acting like himself. In a way he was losing his little brother but was gaining a new member of the family. He looked at her sweetly, "Take good care of him... for me." That was the only request he would ask of her. As long as she treated Daylen well and looked after him, he would be happy. He looked at large wooden doors in the distant. Three people had walked into the cathedral. His face had lit up, the male in the middle was his cousin. He was sure that his family refused to come due to the hatred for Contessa and her family. "Chris I thought you wouldn't..." Sirus began to say but was interrupted by the man. "How can you stand there and talk to her?" He asked Sirus, he had to emphasis her as if she was a thing, not a person. "Chris..." Sirus began to softly say, his eyes widen at his cousin's next words. He was planning something horrible, he just knew it. The closer his cousin got to Contessa, the queasier Sirus became. He blinked in front of Contessa when his cousin had reached her. As soon as Sirus had appeared a sharp pain shot through his stomach. Shakingly Sirus looked at his stomach, he winced in pain when something was violently ripped out of him. He could feel a warmth run down his stomach and lower body. Sirus softly touched his stomach only to find his hand covered in his own blood. A tear escaped his left eye, his cousin had tried to kill Contessa. Shock was completely written over his cousin's face, as the people behind Chris screamed. They pulled on Chris' shoulder forcing him to leave with them. Sirus just turned when his cousin left, he looked at Contessa while he held his stomach with his left hand. His mouth open to say something but nothing came. He fell to the floor, his body was shaking gently as he grew cold. |
Contessa smiled and suddenly they were in the large cathedral. Before Contessa could say anything, Father Sullivan walked up to them and took Daylen away from them. So this was all a plan? Contessa chuckled and shook her head, waving at Daylen before turning her attention back to the decor. "Oh my....it's beautiful! Saria really knows how to surprise me." she noted softly and followed Sirus up to the altar and looked around. She was speechless, it was all more than she could have ever imagined! Her eyes looked over at the bouquets and squealed, jumping up and down happily. Contessa looked at Sirus and nodded, getting teary-eyed. "Oh Sirus, I promise to take very good care of him. And I know you'll be watching us right?" she said once she had relaxed.
Sirus couldn't answer because the large wooden doors opened and three people walked inside. She didn't recognize any of them but one was apparently named Chris. Contessa stood still and looked up at Sirus then looked at the three others and frowned slightly, the one man obviously didn't like her and it was then that she remembered Daylen's vision. That was probably the cousin which meant that Sirus was going to die! Before Contessa could say anything, Sirus was already in front of her one second and then on the floor the next. A loud scream erupted from her lips, making the cathedral shake as if an earthquake had passed through. "Daylen! Daylen!" she called out and looked at the three others who had run off before anyone could do anything. Contessa fell to her knees, her hands holding Sirus' hands as she looked at him. "Sirus, Sirus stay with me. Hold on okay? W-we're...we're going to get you all fixed up right?" she asked, tears falling down her face, a weak smile on her lips. "Daylen!" she screamed and looked around before looking back down at Sirus and holding him close to her, trying to keep him warm. |
Daylen just listen to the elderly man, his face was as flushed as it could get. Both Father Sullivan and Daylen turned to the cathedral upon hearing screams. Daylen's eyes widen as his heart heart sank. "No, Sirus!" He sprinted as fast as he could through the rose garden, pushing the doors open, his fears came crashing into him. He could see Sirus laying on the floor with Contessa holding his hands. Daylen ran to them as fast as he could, kneeling down beside them. "Sirus, you'll be fine." He told his older brother, tears filling his eyes as he spoke. He moved Sirus' hands to cauterize the wound but Sirus grabbed his wrists. He knew Daylen could just used his mind for the cauterizing but he wasn't stopping him for that reason. "Sirus, I need my hands or you'll die." Daylen said crying softly. Sirus however wasn't going to let go. His body grew colder by the second. "Sirus! The potion won't work if you die before hand!" Daylen knew what his brother was doing. "Sirus, please don't do this." Daylen begged through the tears, he had found way to save his brother but it was being refused. He was watching his brother die. Daylen trembled as his brother finally let go. His hands falling limp. "Sirus... no Sirus!" Daylen just leaned over his brother, he was having a hard time breathing. His brother just died in front of him. He just hugged his brother to him, he didn't care if he was getting covered in blood. He just wanted his brother to be alive.
"Sirus?" Contessa squeaked, tears falling down her cheeks. "Sirus please let Daylen help you!" she cried and frowned when she noticed he wasn't letting Daylen help him. Take good care of him... for me his words came into her head again, he didn't want to live as a vampire. "Sirus..." she whispered as he went cold. He was gone. She had just watched Sirus get killed and die in front of her and she couldn't do anything to have prevented it. Contessa couldn't stop crying, she just lost her best friend, her brother. Her arms wrapped around both of them as she cried, how could anyone do such a thing! His cousin did this! What sort of cousin would kill their own flesh and blood? For what reason? It was all her fault, they hated her and this was the result of it. It was the sad truth, she was a fairy not one of them. The elders where at fault too, they helped in this whole situation and it sickened her.
Daylen was pulled away from Sirus' corpse by the priest of the cathedral. They took him and Contessa away from the scene and left them outside on the steps. Daylen was too broken to try and fight. He had the potion, he succeed, why didn't Sirus let him use it? Daylen just sat on the steps. He looked at the steps, holding his head while his elbows rested on his knees. "Why didn't he let me use the potion? I succeed in making it." Daylen murmured to himself. His hands shook as he cried trying to figure out why his brother just let himself die. He could see some points as to why but it didn't make sense to him. "Sirus..." His voice cracked softly as he said his brother's name.
